With summer here have you ever thought of what would it be like if you did not want to lug all your beach paraphernalia out to the sand? Provided you find some nearby parking, this place can assist you in relaxing at the beach with a minimal amount of fuss (at least the days I visited). They can set you up on the sand with chairs/umbrellas and of course they rent bicycles too. Although their menu prices are inflated, I typically bring my own beverage and just get a snack to keep it simple. In order to watch the world go buy on a budget, I will buy their least expensive item on the menu, which is a piece of fruit for $1.50 and kick back in their sand seating. If you want more to eat, I suggest you bring your own picnic or be prepared to walk around a bit and pay more. With the heat of the season fast approaching, it would just not be the same without them. Experience it with a groupon type coupon. ***** I tried this place and got the more expensive package at 30% off. It was a nice splurge for me and my Boo. The beach butler carries all your stuff to 2 lawn chairs, an umbrella, a little table, and cooler with ice and bottled water. You order lunch, relax, and ride bikes. They give you a walkie talkie so you can call on your butler, but he also swings by just to check on you too. They are open from 9am-630pm so you can stay the whole time if you want. The food is pretty good too. You also get a free nice big beach towel. They bring you as much bottled water as you want. The bike rentals have tandem, cruisers, adult trike bikes, and kid bikes. I rented a bike to ride on the boardwalk. Within 15 minutes, about a mile and a half away, I developed a flat tire. I called multiple times with no answer. I walked the bike a random shop that was on the boardwalk to see if they could just put air in the tire and they did try but unfortunately there was a hole. Eventually I got through to the main office and I was told they would send somebody to pick up the bike. They did not give me a time estimate. I waited for an hour and nobody arrived so I locked the bike up and walked the mile back to the bike shop. When I got there, i explained what happened. I took a picture of the bike locked so they knew exactly where it was. I was denied a refund and accused of not waiting with the bike because they said somebody showed up and that I wasn't there. Why didn't they call me? I wasted two hours of my day. The bike was dirty, and the place was over priced, and the manger (I think her name was Allie but I could be mistaken) was so rude and accusing me of lying of not waiting. The portions are very big and I like them. I ordered a bacon burger with cheese. The bacon is very crispy and the whole dish is awesome with all the flavors well balanced! It is a bit expensive though, about $20 per dish including tax. After all it's a unique experience sitting outdoors on the sands watching the volleyball games and having my lunch. Had a terrible customer service experience today. Two female employees were very unprofessional and rude. I placed an order for 4 coffees but got 3 only, then I said that's ok, paid for my hot vanilla latte but instead they did wrong order, while I was waiting and trying to inquire about my order , that female employee was very ignorant, I told her that can you check my order then she all of the sudden refund my money said will get my drink for free as she realized processed wrong coffee, then she disappeared. I asked other female employee about my coffee after waiting a while , she did not have any idea about which I don't believe, because I saw first employee before disappearing talk to her about me. Anyway she was rude and ignorant as well, I didn't know if she was processing my coffee or not, so when I asked her, she just put the coffee without saying thank you for patience or anything else. I tried not to pay attention as did not want to ruin my day because of these to unprofessional and employees. I did drink a little bit of that coffee but for some reason was tasting nasty and I got scared, so I placed the coffee on their ordering place saying that this coffee doesn't taste right and was kind of different, then I tried to leave with my siblings that they were with me, they didn't drink their coffees either and were upset because all these bad experience they provided to us, so we left the place leaving coffee cops on the table, then another female employee from by cycle side yelled at me saying I didn't manners not taking coffee cups and placing in the trash. I tried to speak to manager I was told no manager available, then I explained everything to a guy from bycicle side, he seems understood. Anyway, if owner of this place reads this, he must know to hire train it's employees to be professional and kind. It is scary to know that they could have put something on the drink to retaliate you. Great location, good seating, took 20 minutes for them to make 2 cappuccinos -- with no one else in line! I watched as they dawdled, and made it about as inefficiently as humanly possible. Good coffee beans, badly done. And it usually takes 10-15 minutes for them to make coffee. Umbrella tables right on the beach, see photos. It doesn't get any better. Perry's Cafes provide an oasis for people who ride the beach bike path. I guess they are landmarks as well. This one at Ocean Park Blvd. has always been my favorite, probably because that stretch of beach is dear to my heart. Where do you go to get a butler....on the beach? Well the answer is you drive all the way out to Santa Monica, because Perry's not only has a cafe, and not only does rentals, but he also has Beach Butler Service. What is this you ask? Well, $50 gets you a nice guy in a butler t-shirt, who will drag two lounge chairs, a small table, an umbrella, a little cooler with 2 bottles of water and a wind guard out to the beach and then check on you every 30 minutes or so to bring you anything you might want from their shop or restaurant. Or for $100, you all of that plus lunch & two towels. While it's not exactly the most luxurious of furniture (beach chairs are not terribly comfortable and the foot rest piece comes off) it was a cool experience and I would do it again a little differently. Here's how: ***Bring your own towels: the one's that they gave us in the $100 package were pretty cheap and I wish that we would have brought our nice ones from the house. It's not worth upgrading the package for those towels. ***Go for the $50 package and bring your own food: When I spoke to the guy I made a reservation from, I asked how lunch worked with the $100 package and whether we were given a $50 food/beverage credit. I don't think he understood what I was asking because he told me yes but that is not how it works. Basically, you get to choose the lower grade things off their menu in the form of one entrée, side dish and drink. For example, you can have one all-beef hot dog, French fries and a coke X2 because it's for two people....not worth the additional $50 and the food choices for the package were terrible (see picture). Taste-wise my fish tacos, and my fiancée's pizza combo was average at best; if I had paid a la carte, the food would not have knocked my socks off so next time I'll bring something great. ***Put up your wind guard: Our sweet butler offered to put up our wind guard and we didn't really think we needed it. While it was windy, I think the real benefit would have been the extra space and privacy as the beach is super crowded. read more

Perry's Cafe is located right on the sand in beautiful Venice Beach. With an excellent view of the ocean and parallel to the bike path, it's a great place to people watch. We weren't staying long or I would have totally gotten the butler service. Where for $50 you get a waiter, a nice spot on the sand with beach chairs and water bottles brought to you every 30 minutes or for $100 it comes with everything mentioned above plus lunch. If you aren't Perry royalty you order your food at the cafe window and pick it up when your number is called. I ordered a tuna melt (11.95) and my friend had the steak burrito (10.95). It was made fairly quickly. My tuna melt was meh. Way too cheesy, in my opinion. Her steak burrito was very good. I wish I had ordered that. Good thing BFFs share everything! Water was $3.50. That's a lot! But, I guess they know people will need it and will buy it. The scenery and people watching was awesome. Fun place to park your bike and grab a bite to eat. I stopped by Perry's Cafe while I was meandering along the Santa Monica / Venice Beach area one morning. There are several of these along the shore, and they looked clean, were not busy (it was only 10am on a Friday though) and had great outdoor seating with ocean views - everything that I was looking for at the time! Their menu was pretty impressive for such a small place, and they serve breakfast until 11am. Perry's also serves as a bike and surfboard rental shop, but I only ate while I was visiting. I ordered the Farmer's Veggie Sandwhich, which comes with chips and a pickle spear. I also ordered a side of fries, because they looked amazing (they were!). The girl at the counter was friendly and helpful, and my food came out in a relativly short amount of time considering that it was made after I ordered. I can see how during peak eating times the wait would be much longer, but I didn't experience that issue when I was there. All the food tasted delicious, and the serving sizes were MUCH larger than I had anticipated! I was only able to eat 1/2 my sandwhich and 1/2 my fries, and I ended up giving my leftovers to a hungry looking man further down the beach.
