This small family owned shop has some of the best Indian flavors that I have ever experienced in Omaha! The menu is extensive, especially for a vegetarian who is accustomed to slim pickings. The vibe is friendly and low key, you don't need to get dressed up here, come as you are. The service was super sweet and attentive throughout our visit. She provided us with included samples of this delicious mango pudding dessert that BLEW my mind - truly. So sweet, creamy, and bright! For my meal, I gave the malai kafta a try, which is one of my go - to choices at Indian restaurants, so I have a strong basis to judge.. and Percy's knocked it out of the park! The veggie balls were soft and smooth when cut open, but firm enough to not fall apart in the sauce. The flavors present were so incredibly warm and rich that I could have simply eaten it like soup! I personally ordered a 4 in spice on their 10 scale, and could have handled a 5 in terms of spice, but staying at a 4 keeps your nose from running! The naan options are super fun, and you can select from plain, cheesy, garlic, and more! I personally went with the cheese naan and it was so full that it was almost like a quesadilla ! That is super rare in my experiences, and I was pleasantly surprised by the heftiness of this naan. Each order is 4 pieces for only a few bucks. My companion ordered an appetizer as a meal, and said they also could have gone spicier - so the lesson here may be to trust your spice tolerance and go just one more notch above what you think you can handle! The creaminess and balance of spices allows everything to melt together rather than be overpowered by one element. I'll definitely be returning to Percys and hope you give it a try! It's been quite awhile since I've visited Persis (like almost a year) but their food didn't let us down. I've ordered the chicken dum briyani this time and it's still consistently delicious. It's fragrant and the portion is big, plus they are not selfish with their ingredients. The only thing is that, I need to remind myself next time to try the higher spiciness level. My son has raved about this establishment and finally my girlfriend and I decided to dine. Having dined in a few Indian cafe this was a excellent choice to add to that listing. My girlfriend chose Navarattan Korma, a medley of vegetables and nuts simmered in a creamy sauce with spices. My Son and I the chose the Persis Boneless Chicken Briyani with various spice heat to choose along with garlic naan. The highpoint of our dish was definitely the rice although I wished more chicken was added. In any case, all entries were quite enjoyable. This Indian cafe was an excellent choice from amongst the array of eateries at North Park. My bro had tandoori chicken with medium spice which he really enjoyed. I had kadai vegetable curry that was at the lowest spice level. It was delicious and the spiciness was just right. We both had steamed rice and roti. The space is very bright with windows on two sides. One wall has a row of booths with tables and chairs providing the rest of the seating. I didn't pay much attention to the bar, so I'm not sure how well-stocked it is. There was a tv playing music videos from India. That was fun to watch but the music could have been a bit softer. If this was closer to my house, I would probably come here more often. read more

A true standout is PERSIS INDIAN RESTAURANT. I had almost all the menu items. Thid time I eat lamb Masala mild, this is a fantastic dish that simply makes your mouth lock in the flavors and roll your eyes back with total satisfaction. We met at Persis for Sunday lunch. The restaurant had very few customers. It was clean and inviting. We were greeted right away. My wife and son ordered the boneless chicken biryani. They both ordered mild. I ordered the goat dum biryani spicy. We also ordered two garlic naan. The orders of chicken biryani arrived first. The spice level was higher than expected. They enjoyed the flavor and the dishes overall. There was a longer than normal delay (maybe 3-5 minutes ) before the goat biryani arrived. The spice level was good. I was very disappointed in the lack of quantity of goat and lack of quantity. There were very few pieces of goat. There was very little goat meat. Most pieces were comprised of bone, fat and a large tendon. The flavor was good and the spice level was good. I will not order a goat dish here again. The naan tasted stale and was tougher than expected. Overall it was a good meal. We will return. We will not order another dish with goat. We will be reluctant to order the naan bread . read more

This is hands down the best Indian restaurant in Omaha! (And I've tried a LOT of the big ones that people always talk about, and they do not hold a candle to this place.) I'm surprised they're not busier when we have stopped in but I think that's because a lot of people do takeout. So far we have tried the Tikka Masala, Tandoori, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Korma (each multiple times, but I swear we will branch out soon ) Each has been so fresh and delicious, that we obviously have been back a lot and will try many more items. Went here Friday night. Arrived at about 8:45pm and they close at 9:30pm. It seemed like they had two, maybe three people working tonight. I will say they seemed pretty busy with takeout orders over the time my company and I had dined in for our meal. I wanted to try a different dish and was glad that I did. Overall the meal was about a 6/10. The service was extremely slow. Only had my 1 glass of water through my entire meal. If you know Indian food, you know that sometimes it can be spicy. I had the chicken chattenadu. It was ok but next time I'll stick with the korma. Again.... Mostly a bad review due the the service tonight. Just slow and not very attentive. read more

I am always on the look out for a good Indian restaurant, and now that my wife has finally discovered that she truly enjoys Indian food, it has become a bit more often that we eat that type of cuisine, so when we were out and about, one Saturday evening, we happened to be close to Persis Biryani Indian Grill around dinner time, and decided to give it a try. Our go to Indian Restaurant, and the one we use as a benchmark now, is Barwarchi Biryani, so, of course we had to compare Persis to Barwarchi. The ambiance was a lot like a fast food type of restaurant, but it was clean and the seats were in good condition. They do a very high volume of orders, so there was quite a bit of traffic at the front, but that did not deter the waitstaff from seating us quickly. We did ask for a bit more time to select our entrees, since they had a fairly extensive menu and a lot of great options that we had to choose from, and that did impact the time for us to get our orders taken and get our meals. We both chose the boneless chicken biryani dish, which is what we typically get at the benchmark restaurant, and then I also got a butter chicken to go, for lunch later on in the week. The heat scale they offered was from 1 to 10, which is different then the mild, medium and hot levels we are offered at the benchmark restaurant, so that threw us off a bit. I said medium for me and mild for my wife, so I expected like a 5 for me and a 1 or 2 for her, but when we got the dishes, my wife said her's was pretty hot. When I sampled it, it was pretty close to mine with regards to spice, but they were both quite flavorful, with lot's of chicken, comparable to what we get at Barwarchi, and the dishes were not skimpy on the servings, with quite a bit left over after eating about half, also similar to Barwarchi. The garlic Naan that we ordered was very garlicy and buttery, so that was better than what we get from Barwarchi, which was a pleasant surprise. All in all, it was a good place for Indian Cuisine, and we will definitely go there again if we are out that way. Plenty of choices in the food selection category, so there is surely something for everyone. read more

Great food and service! We got two chicken tikka masalas, chicken korma, and chicken curry, which were all flavorful and creamy. Chicken was also very tender. Two things to note: 1) you can select the spice level on a scale of 1-10, and 2) one order of naan consists of 4 little quarter slices.
