Good morning Yelpers ... thanks for tuning in. Hope you are all safe, healthy and practicing responsible outings during these chaotic times. This weekend my wife surprised me with a weekend escape from city life. Leaving behind the hustle to come up north to ShowLow, AZ and disconnect a bit. Per our usual, we try to find a rad little local breakfast / brunch spot to make our morning routine while we travel. We're your typical savory and sweet couple, usually sharing bites throughout our meal. We did a quick search and found PersNIKKity's Cafe, a charming local joint with a focus on "precision to detail." They strive to create food to fit every lifestyle, using only the freshest ingredients. (from their site) I ordered the Biscuits and Country Sausage Gravy, and my wife ordered the Country Scramble with a hot coffee. It was actually really good -- the biscuits were fluffy with a slightly moist center (my preference and the gravy had a soft pepper tingle, but more gravy is always welcomed). The Country Scramble was a perfect portion, the eggs fluffy and clean, and the rye bread had great flavor to balance it all out. So, why the two star review? Well, mainly because the "safety factor" was hella low ... almost nonexistent really. Our server that brought our food was dropping off orders with no mask . Last I checked we're in a pandemic, and wearing masks & social distancing work. Except in ShowLow I guess. No one, and I mean NO ONE wore a mask, and the very few that did, rocked them under their nose like some sort of chin strap ‍. The servers were nice, but when I enter an establishment I want to FEEL SAFE. Like the place I'm ordering from actually acknowledges the safety of guest and themselves by enforcing two very simple protocols. To be totally fair -- the entire town didn't mind the safety of others. Even the cops that walked into an over crowded Circle K, weren't even wearing them. So, if you're ever in ShowLow and are looking for great tasting breakfast / brunch, PersNIKKity's Cafe is good choice. Just be sure to be stared at for actually doing your part ‍. read more

Being new to the Show Low area I thought I'd have lunch at Persnikkity's Cafe. I ordered the smoked turkey club on sourdough and the country slaw. I knew the minute my food was served that I would not be able finish what I ordered. Both the smoked turkey club and the country slaw were unique and amazing. This is a cute little restaurant that offers breakfast and lunch. You order at the counter and then fill up your beverage of choice and grab a seat. We were lucky to snag the last table to enjoy our breakfast. The serving sizes are large as I couldn't even finish my two pieces of cinnamon French toast. The bacon was crisp and delicious and worth the extra charge. This is a great place that is reasonably priced to fuel up before starting your day. Bonus- The bathrooms are clean with lots of cute signs with funny sayings. read more

We went here today to have lunch however to our surprise upon arrival we were shocked at the parking lot. Completely full with no where to park much less move around! After 15 minutes a car left and we parked. This place was just as packed inside. Ordering food at the counter was quite easy but the line was long with only one person taking orders. The next challenge was finding a place to sit, again had to wait for a table. The quality of the food was decent but the aggravation of parking and waiting inside is just not worth returning to this restaurant!! I ordered the chorizo Benny, and it was really good! My family also enjoyed their French toast, biscuits and gravy, and classic Benny. Ordered a veggie burrito and the trio burrito. Food was good. Was a little disappointed that the menu stated the burritos come with hash browns but they were nowhere to be found. They actually put fried diced potatoes inside the burrito. The menu was a bit misleading. In addition, there was a very long wait time. Otherwise, good experience. Ok, I dk r often give 5 stars, my reviews mean something. I EXPECT quality and service. That's what I got and more from this location, and they had adequate staff, a large staff, to handle the madness of rbis busy place. The wait was very brief for my food. But it's what I got that made me raise my eyebrow. The sandwich was by far the best Turkey club I have ever eaten, the flavors were joke, upfront, and they don't skimp on the meat! The pesto salad was unbelievable, and all of this I expected to cost me so much more, but it my bill was surprisingly low. The lemonade, yum! Little Cafe with amazing fresh food. We just moved into town. We are eating our way through town and have a list of local restaurants to check off. PersNIKKIty's Cafe did not disappoint!!! I had the Chipotle Chicken Quinoa salad, the salad was fresh with black beans, avocado, quinoa and a hatch chili salsa with avocado and chipotle dressing. The Cowboy burger with shoestring Parmesan fries was delicious. Burger can be ordered pink or not pink. Kid's chicken strip meal with fresh fruit was the perfect portion. Greek Gyro was on point with a side of slaw. We will definitely be back to try more food!!! read more

We had lunch here today and it was terrific! The staff was very friendly and attentive from the time we walked in the door until we left. My wife ordered the Cowboy burger with Parmesan Fries and I had the Smoked Turkey Club in a wrap. Both meals were delicious and plentiful and arrived timelyThe cafe was clean and the decor was cute. After a mediocre experience and a rude owner I would advise that Taco Bell or McDonald's has a better menu with comparable customer service. It's not that Persnikkity's is horrible, Persnikkity's is not worth your hard earned cash. Limited seating, average menu, serve yourself and food you'd find at Wendy's or Jack In The Box is what you get for your money. read more

Wanted to try a local place for breakfast this morning and since this place was close to our hotel it won the choice. I'm very glad it did as it was excellent food. I ordered the Baja Chorizo Bennys, it's chorizo and a poached egg on what looked to me a home made english muffin with a spicy hollandaise topped with a slice of avocado and a nice salsa. The poached eggs were absolutely perfect, sometimes getting a perfect poached egg is hit or miss but not these. It came with hashbrowns that were some of the best I've had in a long time, nice crisp outside and soft interior. Bobbie got the half order of biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns. The biscuit was huge and also appeared home made, it was delicious and the sausage gravy was equally as good. Her eggs were done right over easy, nice runny yolk with done whites. I love hot sauces and they had one I've not tried so I grabbed a bottle of Arizona Gunslinger habanero and mango to use on my bennys and potatoes. I'm now on the search to find some to add to my collection of hot sauces as it was really good, nice heat with a sweet note from the mango. My husband and I came here for breakfast. He had scrambled eggs and sausage on an English muffin. He commented that the sausage was very good. I had scrambled eggs on a bagel with melted cheese, fresh avocado and bacon. I was happy that the bagel was fresh and not hard to chew. My breakfast tasted quite good. I had a London Fog: Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, lavender flavor and sugar syrup or some other sweetener. It was nice. My husband ordered coffee and got a whole pot. You order at the counter, find a table and then a server delivers your food. The restaurant was cheerfully decorated. It was busy and looked like a popular place. The primary disadvantage of this restaurant is the small parking lot. We were driving a truck. We got a spot but it was tight. There are other businesses nearby with parking lots, but we rarely park in other peoples' lots. read more

For a small sandwich place they have some great food A couple co-workers and I stopped by for a late lunch. I ordered the Salmon sandwich and was not disappointed. Although the salmon was fairly dry, it was delicious! Topped with a spicy mayonnaise, fresh greens and onions on a potato bun, this sandwich hit the spot. There was a small dinning area inside that only accommodated about 15-20 people. Very clean establishment as well. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat, this is the spot. read more

Yaay. The best got better. Early breakfast today. Plenty seats in dining room. Food arrived quickly prepared perfectly. Get your coffee elsewhere if you're a javasnob. Wife's eggs and hash browns were scrumptious. With English muffin. My custom burrito was amazing with egg, potato, grilled onion, avocado. Ditto coconut milk smoothie with all 3 fruits. Hooray. Next time we'll split a burrito and have the hash browns instead of cut potatoes outside of the roll up. Last year's breakfast was good -- this time it was world class. The food maybe good but what's the point if if you can't eat in comfort. The table was nasty. We asked them to clean it and I was told it's sticky because of the finish. I spent 3 minutes with a sanitizing wipe and it was black when I was done 11/25/2019 Once again table was dirty. Only thing new was that my food was sent back twice and my wife's once. That being said I was told to say the at least tried to make it right which they did. read more

So dang good! The country fried steak was perfect! Tender cut of meat and the breading was crispy with lots of flavor. The hash browns are seasoned to perfection. We all took bites of a blueberry muffin and it was outstanding! My husband enjoyed his breakfast burrito tremendously. My son had a chicken gyro sandwich that was solid. Decided to try this place for small business Saturday, I was blown away. The green chili chicken was amazing so moist and flavorful. While the food was good, the service was beyond horrible, I watched an older couple who sat and waited for their order while customers who came after them got their orders, ate and left before the waitress told the couple "sorry your order got lost in the kitchen, we're remaking it now". Then when their order finally came it was the wrong order. The older gentleman was diabetic and his blood sugar was crashing, he told them that and they offered him cookie after walking past them more than a dozen times.
