I was once a fan of this place. I've been here at least twice a month for the past year. But as they say, it only takes one bad experience... Today was that day for me. The lady behind the counter was rude and border line disrespectful. As I was short on time and didn't want to continue to deal with her, I left. However I called back to the restaurant to speak with the manager and found that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Now I understand why the server felt entitled to be non caring and disrespectful. The manager was her example for customer service. To top it off he even refused to identify himself by name when asked and nor was he willing to give me the name of the district manager before hanging up on me twice. Never again will I enter this establishment. When you operate a business that doesn't care about customer concerns, then you don't need customers! read more

Reviewed June 2015, all I can say is wow, compared to the other 2 reviewers I actually had a really pleasant experience. Everyone I came in contact with offered a smile. I ordered the fish tacos (3 in the meal) and the shrimp tacos (also 3 in the meal) to split with my family and I was overall very happy with the tacos from both meals. This is a cafeteria style take out restaurant that also has a short order menu. Whatever is not prepared on the front line can be ordered and generally comes up within about 7-10 minutes of being ordered which is about what you would expect for a short order take out / dine in. The person who took my order spoke clear english as did the cashier who processed my payment. So again my experience varies wildly from the other two posters. I guess my only negative mark would be that they stereo sitting on top of the cooler was trying woefully hard to fill the restaurant with music. It was borderline loud. I liked the music selection so it wasn't offensive but I think they need a few more speakers spread out over the restaurant they could probably lower the overall volume to something a little more conversation worthy if you decided you actually wanted to eat in the restaurant. Again not really a complaint more of an observation. This place is definitely on my radar for new and up and coming restaurants in the Kettering / Mitchellville area. I was a little surprised that they didn't have a line stretching to the door. I am going to work my way through the menu and update my review after a few more trips, but with the exception of the music i had an overall positive experience with the staff and my meal. Compared with the dearth of food options in the area. I hope they stick around for a while. I didn't even know this place was there. Maybe its the reason why the line wasn't out the door. The prices are decent per meal and the portions are a good value in my humble opinion. This restaurant is very similar to Lima's Chicken in Bowie. Their chicken is good if you get it fresh. However, these people will not hesitate to sell you old chicken that was off the grill for many hours and is no longer good. I find this unacceptable, since their rotisserie chicken costs almost 3 times as much as a rotisserie chicken from a grocery store. Your best bet is to come around noon and you are getting fresh good chicken. If you come in after 5, your chicken may be 5-6 hours old (they are not busy during the Covid pandemic). read more

I decided to give this place a try after seeing the reviews although I heard from one person that my regular spot Sardi's was much better. I should have listened to my friend. The chicken was soooo dry and had as much flavor as cardboard. The rice had no flavor either. The green beans were edible. I had to throw 95% of the meal away. It was that bad. 1 star because the prices are lower but I guess you get what you pay for. Will never come back here and will be returning to Sardi's which is less than 10 min away. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to try this place but after one visit I believe I will become a regular. Just reading previous reviews before going just left me wanting to see if it was true, yes the rest room is very clean, the overall set up on the restaurant is cool. Next time I will def dine in. Now for the good stuff, with my eyes on the Lomo Saltado, (which I got ) after seeing reviews of course. At first the price & the fact I really wanted shrimp turned me away. Also, the fries being at the bottom of the steak, I was definitely hesitant. But needless to say I got it anyways but I did get the fries on the side lol. The fries were a perfect crisp just ask I asked (fried hard) not sure if they are this way regularly but I insisted on requesting everywhere I go. The actual Lomo Saltado was amazing the flavor was crazy didn't need anything else but rice . But I did put the yellow sauce on it because I use it for everything, it's that good. I actually mixed the other half of my fries into the box to see what they actual hype was about , if I had got my order as is, and I will say this next time I will leave it as is, that combination was Awesome. So I just ate here for the first time. the pitfall is I went to the ladies room and they must have just mopped the floor. There wasn't a sign anywhere to indicate this. As I opened the door and stepped in, my sneakered feet slid out from underneath me and I hit the floor hard. I'm over 50. I had to actually put tissues under my feet to get off the floor. When the counter people were told, they didn't even ask if I was alright or have any reaction at all. Had the nerve to thank us as we left though. I won't go back there. My family recently tried this place for the first time and it was very good. The chicken is well seasoned and flavorful. For our sides we chose green beans, fried rice, and the potato and carrots dish. The potato and carrot side took us by surprise. Different style with a mild vinegar flavor that was great. The chicken here at Peru although smaller than the competition is very tasty. I ventured out and tried their Lamb Chops, also very tasty. I can't get enough if their green and yellow sauces (I mix them) to dip my French Fries in and sometimes my chicken. I was out in Mo. Co. last month and figured I'd check out my old spot and it's clear they've been knocked out still down for the count.
