I've been with Pestnow for nine years. I've been fairly happy with the service. They were here for my quarterly service on July 15. I had to call them back on August 5 for an ant problem. I had to call them back again yesterday (the 26th) for the same ant problem. Today (the 27th) I have the same ant problem! They are the least expensive pest control company, but I will not use them again. read more

In April I moved into my new home and found out that I had a squirrel problem in the attic. I requested to have them come out for a free quote and inspection of my home. The technician came to my home, walked around, and stated that I needed to have one of their "wildlife technicians" come to my home to get on the roof to inspect for entrance and exit locations the squirrels may be using. After paying almost $900, they came out, walked around my home again, and stated that they "thought" the squirrel was getting in in a couple different locations. When asked if they could go to the roof to make sure there weren't any other big issue areas he responded with "that would require us to put on a harness." In my opinion, that is what I paid them to do. So every day for the next few months they came over once a day and checked the trap they left in the attic. The first time before setting the trap I was asked if I had any peanut butter they could use to put in the trap. After a few weeks of stopping by at a different time every day, they caught one and considered the issue resolved. The next day I heard more movement in my attic and above my garage. They came back, same process. They caught another, and somehow managed to let him out of the cage while still in my attic. Another couple of weeks go by and I notice that there are holes around the outside of my home. Some are more noticeable than others. When I asked the technicians about it they responded casually with "I don't know how I missed that." The lack of thoroughness and casual approach to the issue was unbelievable. They then proceeded to cover one of the holes with multiple screws and a mesh cage fencing over the hole. No patching or covering the hole, just a wire cover. I called to cancel and requested a refund for a failure to resolve the issue and the damages my home incurred due to the lack of an effective strategy and was told that I was lucky I got the service for the price that I did. I had them come back and time after time, they would go up in the attic, see that the peanut butter was gone and the trap had not been triggered, and say "I'll check again tomorrow." I get that there is a lot of uncertainty and variables that go into this type of thing. But the lack of effort, laziness, and unprofessionalism displayed was out of this world. Over the last week I have heard more noises in more parts of my house, and the hole that was not covered and "missed" upon the detailed inspection has now caused water damage to my home. I called again today to attempt to be refunded and ask for some sort of compensation for the damages as I would like to try another service to resolve this issue. I was yelled at and told that half of what I paid would be refunded, but no damages would be covered. I was told that they were trying to "help me out because corporate would never approve any refund or damages." Long story short, it was a terrible experience to move into a new home and have this, 6 months later, still be an ongoing and worsening issue. To receive such customer service and pay for a job to be done, for this to happen is absurd. I would be cautious in hiring this company if you have any problems that may be considered "difficult" as they will take the easiest way around the problem to attempt to temporarily fix it. Now I have to find another company to do the job right and fix the damages caused by their negligence. Will never use this company again. read more

I enrolled in their service back in May, they came out few times to check for as I had seen some mice activity inside the house we also had some insects. They came out just to place some bate stations around the house also 3 inside the house. Since then the mouse activity have increased significantly, I've been able to catch some with the old fashioned traps. Every time I call To report mice activity, they say that I have to give it more time. I do not recommend this business at all as they do the lousiest job and they use the least effective way of using Bates do you can continue your service as they say it takes Time . If you want to have mice infesting house please waste your Money and use their service. read more

We have been clients of pestnow for years. Just like every industry prices have gone up and service has gone down. We just had our quarterly service done and while I was doing a walk around, I found cobwebs. One of their services they provide is getting rid of cobwebs. Around this cobweb right next to it is a trail of ants. Please keep in mind we just had servicing done yesterday. There should be no cobwebs and if I do see ants, they should be dead ants. Extremely disappointing would not recommend any more. read more

If you like a complete job, where they have their own staple gun and supplies don't call these guys. What a bad experience. Our realtor told us they were great so we went with them. The guys that came out originally were great which is the only reason they get 2 stars. The guy that came to clean and install smelled of weed, and he kept forgetting things, including a credit card to buy insulation. Once he came back he couldn't figure out how to load a staple gun. I had to go buy one and let him use mine. And after we moved the new owners found that they missed a bunch of things. read more

This is a scam. Young man came to my door and I was dumb enough to open it. I told him I wasn't interested in their service but would do my research. He took my name and number down to reach out at a later date. Yesterday I got a bill from PestNow claiming they sprayed my property. They didn't and I known they didn't because I have ring cameras around the house. Beware of these scammers. I intend to file a complaint with the Virginia AG. read more

I live in Triangle so I believe this is the closest location for service. I received a promotion in the mail; should have just followed my intuition and checked yelp first. Service was quick and easy, didnt think twice about it until I recieved another invoice in the mail for a service I didnt request. Invoice stated service was provided on a day I didnt request, and better yet technician wrote that he serviced the entire outside of the house. Well my husband was home that day and said he saw the guy pull up, he rang the doorbell and since nobody answered the door he left. How is that considered servicing the entire outside of the home? Had our house inspected our house for termites when we bought it a few months ago (the realtors picked this company) and Pestnow provided a written report that said there was no evidence of termites. Two months later we got Permatreat to come for a pest inspection and they found visible termite damage and the ground was teeming with live termites. We went back to Pestnow to find out whether they warranted their work, and the manager said they would stand behind their initial assessment and treat our property for free. So..... although maybe the initial inspection was faulty, they are backing their work. read more

Judging by some of the reviews here, quality of service may depend on your location. I can say that I have had Very Good service for two Quarters in a row, in the Fredericksburg area. The Seller of my home used PN for a termite inspection, so they waived their startup fee on my account, a Great way to start a business relationship! Like many such services, they are not allowed to spray above waist level, so treatment of eaves and overhead areas is limited to removal of nests and webs. I am very pleased with the technician who serviced my home, and the interior service seems to have been quite effective, this Summer. read more

Sold my home and had this organization inspect during the process. Upon inspection claimed there were termites on the property. I asked the individual to show me and he was unable to show any evidence or pictures. I called another organization to inspect and they conducted a thorough and meticulous inspection resulting in zero termites on my property. Pestnow wanted up to 750 dollars to treat when there wasn't anything to treat. Crooked as they come... would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I see that they took the time to respond to comments and reviews here because it's public view and can affect the business. I had to give this company a 1 star or less if there was a choice for none. I usually don't give negative reviews unless safety and bad services happened. Since I have not, and don't plan to, employ their services, I will share the safety issues. My neighbor was driving her little daughter, 2 years old to daycare last Tuesday morning, when the driver in the company truck sped up from behind and cut her off, coming from Manassas, on the 66E without signal. He caused her to slam the break, almost created an accident by the car behind her. Her daughter was crying in the back and she was so distressed by this reckless behavior. She is a safe driver and was already driving in a slow lane, reserved for slower drivers, and this happened. She then moved out of the way, go a bit further and switched back to the slow lane, when he started to tailgate her so close that she was afraid he would slam into her. If he was in such a hurry, he should have picked the fast lane. He continued to harass and bully her on the road, not caring that there was a child in the car, not to mention using the phone while he was driving. She was eventually able to get to work and wrote the company a letter that day regarding the incident. That was last Tuesday, week of January 8. To this date, she still has not heard a peep from them regarding their reckless driver. Although we do not need their services now, this is something I will keep in mind not to employ their services in the future. Professionalism is reflected in both the work and the way how you treat people even when no one is looking. I felt so bad for my friend that she and her daughter had to experience a terrible scare on a morning commute by a very unprofessional driver, then by the company who ignored her complaint. Always receive great service from the onsite service providers. Occasionally some miscommunications at the telephone customer service level (called to report issues with swarming flies, hoping to have someone to come out to spray. Sent a termite inspector instead. Told them I specifically mentioned it definitely wasn't termites. I guess they assumed it was termites, but it was in fact flies). Other than that, service is great. Price is great, $85 quarterly. They send someone to treat any urgent situation that arises and these service calls are covered in the quarterly fees. read more

They are super affordable and their work is very efficient. I took a list of quotes and they beat them out by a lot-ESP the big chain companies. They are also very customer friendly. I started noticing a few spiders showing up about 2 weeks before our next treatment (we live in the country so we huge ones). I called and they were here 2 days later. *Note: we only did an outdoor and basement spray the 1st one (4,000 sq foot home) & it kept them out almost the whole 3 months. We decided to do the whole house this time & 1.5 months out and not ONE spider or insect sighted (except the ones that fly in, obviously). Highly recommend them! read more

Beware! A realtor recommended them for the required termite inspection for selling our house since it is a flat fee ($35). You get what you pay for..... they found no termites, but said they found "carpenter ants" and wrote that on the receipt.....along with their estimate to treat the "carpenter ants." The lender required that we have that treated. Decided to get a second and third opinion since I suspected PestNow's assessment. They were sugar ants...no carpenter ant to be seen. Had to treat them anyway, but at least I didn't pay any more to this company. Don't use. read more

I used this company in 2013-2014 because they were the ones who did the spraying/termite treatment for our house before we moved in and left a flyer. They did not work around my schedule ever. I would have to leave work early to get home in time for them to spray. Once I was stuck in traffic and the guy arrived early. Told me he refused to wait even though he was early and he left without spraying. I had a bad issue with ants in one bathroom and even after they would spray, they wouldn't go away. As soon as my contract was up I cancelled and went with another company. read more
