I love that they will special order products we used to buy at the big chains at a competitive price, and we only have walk 1/2 block to get it instead of 10 to 30 min to the larger stores. Plenty of free parking. The store is not visible from the street, it is in the building fronted by the dry cleaner. read more

This an amazing pet store! The owner, Mevi, is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell he cares about quality products and service. The store has been there for 30 years and he's carefully curated the products to meet his standards of quality. He walked me through multiple food options and provided actionable solutions while i considered changing food for my puppy. They also deliver- for free which is amazing!! I came across this total hole in the wall coming out of AutoZone a few months ago, decided to check it out on a whim...and have become a loyal customer since. Selection is great (I can find my Orijen, Acana, and Weruva here) and prices are LOW. I recall only seeing these prices when Centinela Pet and Feed has their big sales. Here they also provide a nice personal touch as staff is knowledgeable and will go out of their way for customer satisfaction. Last time they did not have the flavor of Acana I was looking for so I picked up another flavor that cost a bit more but she charged me for what I was originally looking for. On our first visit we struck up a friendly conversation with the owner (his other location is in Silver Lake) and it just further solidified our impression that we were getting the best deal. Also, zero pretension like some other pet stores that carry quality grain-feed food. One of the best natural pet food stores around. It's a small place but very well stocked. And if you want something they don't carry, and their distributor has it, they'll order it and it will get there quickly. Usually 1-2 customers in there or checking out at a time so you're in and out quickly. They carry a ton of brands for dogs, including raw foods and Taste of the Wild, toys. I buy for cats and a few brands they have include Weruva, (and BFF) Fussy Cat, Rawz, Feline Natural and Stella and Chewy's, to name a few. They also carry the Life Essentials freeze dried chicken (or salmon) which I can't really find anywhere else locally. Jesse is there most days and is friendly and helpful but also incredibly knowledgeable about foods and diet for dogs and cats, and the same can be said for the owner who is there from time. The store is located in the shopping center on where Joanne's is so there is always a spot. I know when I go to Petco or Pet FOOD Express (similar name so not to be confused) it's a stressful experience. But my experience at Pet Express is always good and as quick as I need it to be. When I come up to L.A. to hang with Fatty, I need to have my go-tos set up for Penguin. Boarding place? Check. Dog park? Check. And now a super convenient pet store with nothing but organic and holistic foods and treats. The place is tiny, but the owner is lovely and helpful. I asked her for advice on what to get since I did not recognize any of the brand names of the foods. In turn, she asked me to describe my dog. We discussed her eating habits and she did not hesitate to recommend me a brand that Penguin is now chowing down on as i write. And as a side note, Fatty and I both sampled a nugget of the goods because we found the natural ingredients curiously enticing. We're not going to do THAT again. Back to details, this place is easy to miss in the strip mall that it is located in. On the marquis it just says Pet Supplies, but it is situated between Autozone and Subway. Oh my goodness! I was parking for Joann's Fabrics and spied this little store at the other end of the parking lot and popped in. I was greeted by the store cat and then met Bonnie & Clyde, Jesse the manager's kittens who he'd brought to work to help with their socialization! I picked up Bonnie and gave her a little hug and she smelled heavenly. She'd just been sprayed with a great product that helps with itchy skin so I bought some. They also had 11 oz cans of our favorite Weruva cat food - economy size! We didn't even know they came in that size. And we were introduced to a new high quality, fair price food called Against the Grain. So far, my cats are thrilled it; it's high protein food that's moistened with bone broth. The manager helped me to my car with everything and gave me a card so I can order from him and get my supplies delivered next time. This is a terrific company and I'm thrilled with their selection, the sweet shop cats and of course, Jesse. He clearly loves what he does for a living. read more

I am so happy I found this little pet store tucked away in the Jo-Ann's parking lot which is just down the street from where i live. Easy parking lot with lots of spaces and it's not a garage. Little things like that make me happy. The guy working behind the counter (possibly the owner?) was very knowledgeable about all the products in the store and he was more than happy to take the time to help me out. The store is small and they only carry top of line products, which is what we feed our animals anyway but some people may prefer more variety. The products are guaranteed, so if your pet doesn't like something after trying it, you can return the unused bag for credit and they offer FREE delivery!!! This is my new pet store. read more

My cats fur started shedding like crazy and looking really dull. In fact, one of my 2 cats wasn't looking so healthy either. I went in and was recommended some great food and the owner even said to me "after a couple of weeks you will feel a difference in their fur." Low and behold... A week later I was petting my cat and was shocked at how soft he was!!! Their shedding has stopped, they are softer than they've ever been and my other cat looks healthy again. Thank You! I showed up at 10am. Storekeeper/clerk showed up after (late), and told me to give her more time before entering. So, I gave her several minutes before trying to enter and she screamed at me. It was a screeching and lengthy scream heard in the parking lot - Quite jarring. I turned around, got my pup and myself in the car and left. I was a loyal customer and I do enjoy supporting local business - but no longer in this case. I would far rather pay a few dollars more for Orijen at Petco-and they'll deliver, too.
