Our Shih Tzu, Precious, loves this store. The staff is super friendly and obviously love dogs. They are respectful of all the dogs I see come in and treat all of them as royalty. The selection of food is abundant and my dog loves Food for Dogs flavors. The dog washing stations are duper convenient and a lways kept clean. I'll be honest, all pet food expresses are great! But I went to this location on March 16 and was assisted by a very friendly man. My cat has been stomach sick and after seeing that I was purchasing cat food, he asked how my cats were. A simple question where I was able to express my situation and felt like someone cared. He referred me some probiotics and his customer service was just amazing. I feel that Petfood Express team members care and they show it. It makes a difference for customers. I LOVE the washing station in the back. The hose gently sprays lukewarm water mixed with your selection of soap at the same time! It definitely cuts washing time in half. There are several stations and there's usually never a wait. They provide towels and aprons as well. The employees are always helpful and spent the time to explain how their station worked for my first time. They also offered to allow me more than 30 minutes since I was just learning how to use it. There's also a large selection of treats and any other pet needs you might have. They have a buy 3 get one free for the baths so it ends up being about $11 a wash. Will be back! read more

I usually use the Pet Food express in Burlingame but decided to try this one due to location convenience. The workers are friendly and I really just come here to bathe my dogs. The bath section is well maintained than most other locations. They also give you waterproof collars if you don't have one to bathe your dog. I also like this one because the dog owners are very respectful that come to bathe your dog. I have a grumpy 9 year old German Shepard and he use to hate baths especially if other dogs were there but because of this clientele here my dog finally enjoys baths and also has become use to being around dogs during baths without acting out. I have always been a customer here since they've opened. Today they did something that is what Christmas is all about. As I was leaving Safeway (across the street) there was a young man with a trembling puppy in a shopping cart. A lady was talking to him as I approached. She looked at me and said "he is so cold and trembling". The man had no blankets, only a thin small towel.H e said he got this puppy last night and is living in his van but is trying to get a crate for his new pup bit it's $50. He said he just got his shots yesterday. I said let's go to Pet Food Express and see what we can do. He said the woman just gave him $20 to help him and he gave me all the money in his pocket $21.00 I secretly explained to Justin at Pet Food Express I wanted to help and asked if there was some online discount code I could get to help me help him since this crate was $50. Justin was so kind and gave him the crate for half off! For that great price I was able to pay for it myself and let this man keep his money. I was also able to give him a bed, toys, blankets, and snacks for this new pup from some things I had at home. This man was so worried about properly caring for his new pup. We have been coming to Pet Food Express across multiple cities, we get amazing experiences and excellent customer services no matter which store we go. The staff is always so attentive and patient; everyone's very knowledgable of the different kind of products and reassure me that I could come back and try another product if I am not satisfied (if it's opened food, they will donate to organizations). On a side note, price is a little higher than elsewhere. But we wouldn't trade it for anything else, we trust the staff here and they deserve to receive the best respect! Last week, we dropped in and expressed our concern about our dog who is getting older and has a very sensitive stomach (which generally leads to diarrhea!) We have tried to feed her some white rice, white chicken breasts, yogurt, apples before; nothing seemed to work for long term. The attentive staff immediately suggested us to try some canned pumpkin superfood; they offered it to us for FREE! This is not only showing us that they genuinely care about the customers, but also the furry babies. Magically, our dog loves it and her poop has improved so much! I walked in here last Saturday to find something for my dog to eat. Long story short, I didn't want to get him a bag of food since we were heading back home in an hour. So, I stopped by this shop and grabbed him a big bone treat to munch on while I eat. I went up to the cash register to pay and the guy behind the cashier said "it's on us." I was shocked because this never happens this day and age. I said- are you sure? I can pay for this and he answered "we're sure." I'm not writing this because I got free stuff. I've been here before on a different occasion and that visit was pleasant as well. It was an older gentleman who was so nice and interested in my dog. I would like to thank Pet Food Express employees at the two branches I have visited - in Millbrae and Castro Valley for their excellent service and highly skilled advice. We just moved to California a week ago and brought our cat who was naturally highly stressed.and wouldn't eat anything I offered. Thanks to Pet Food Express in Millbrae, which I found due to YELP and heard a recommendation from a dog owner I met in the store. The staff had both excellent customer service and much patience with me as I had to return several times to try different foods. And thanks to the returns policy, I was able to return food my cat would not eat! Finally I found a food he would eat - Nature's Balance. In Castro Valley, I found the staff just as friendly and willing to help. So I can tell their reputation is store policy, and we pet caregivers appreciate it! Way to go guys! read more

I am so very excited that they opened a Pet Food Express just down the street to where I live! Now I don't have to drive to Burlingame and can just walk my dogs!! Win! The store just opened up sometime this week because they sent flyers that they were having a 20% off sale on all pet supplies (except for their buy 3 get the 4 free) and free self-service pet washes! Hurry because it ends November 17!!! Anyways, the store is located conveniently in downtown Millbrae, Along the block with Starbucks, Bagel Street Cafe, Jamba Juice, Walgreens, Trader Joes, and across the street from Safeway so while you're getting your groceries, you can make your pet store stop as well! The layout is a little cramped since it is smashed in between stores, but it's not bad when the store is empty. When it is, I can imagine people squeezing to one end of the aisle to get through. Everything you need is laid out from dog stuff to cat stuff and food along the edges of the store. As always they only carry the best food for your dogs. No food that has been recalled will be sitting on the shelves until the company that makes the recalled products tells them they have fixed their formulas. So good thing! Self-Service Pet Wash is amazing! All those little hooks they have for your pet is great because my dog can not run away when getting a wash or getting blow dried. I think the reg price would be $15, but it's worth it because they let you wash your dog for a long time. I think I washed both my dogs (a 6 month GSD, and 4 month Queensland) with one coin. (So you pay up front and they give you a coin). They also have a scale!! Yay. I can do weekly weight measures on my puppy now! The workers, super friendly and down to earth. Come by to have your pet spoiled! Overall, LOVE it, my pets LOVE it (minus the bath), but I will definitely be coming back! read more

Yay! I agree with the other reviewers - the employees at this Pet Food Express location are awesome. They seem to enjoy their jobs. They're friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about their products. I actually didn't know that they primarily feature "healthy" food rather than the usual stuff you find at Walgreen's or Petco. I had to write a review after today's experience. I had to do a late night cat litter run. The gentlemen working at the register told me that since there was one more package of litter left in the store, I could purchase that last one for 50% off. What a great deal! read more

This is my favorite Pet Food Express!!! Every staff member is amazing, friendly and when they get to know you they become your personal shopper. Every suggestion they have made for my dog has been exceptional!!! My sister and her family adopted a new 8 week old puppy. I went in to Pet Food Express, Millbrae and asked for help in making a puppy welcome basket. After discussing with the employee that I don't know anything about puppies (I adopted my dog when she was older). The basket was amazing!! Training treats, teething toys, interactive toys for the family to play with the new puppy and healthy supplements. The basket also included puppy pamphlets to help educate the family on their new puppy needs. The family LOVED the basket!! The puppy tried everything in the basket and the basket brought the puppy and the family great joy. I'm already getting my Christmas list together of all my 4 legged friends and my own dog.... I had just picked up my first dog from the SPCA, and needed to get supplies for her. I came to pet food express because the SPCA gave me a 20% discount for adopters. I have never had a dog before so I really didn't know what I needed. I was so happy to be helped by the team at pet food express! The first thing I did was give my dog a bath, she needed one! Her face had been hit by a skunk and she was pretty smelly. The staff are very friendly and helpful on my last few visits there. I purchased the Stella and Chewy's RAW food patties. The staff person help me with loading it into my cart and bagged it into a freeze cooler that they had in their store. Buy any participating 3 brands and get the 4th one free. Check out the website for more details. They also offered to contact HQ to ask about other products offered by Stella and Chewy's and called me back in a few days to advise me that they call order and store it for me in the store until I needed it. Great services. I will never buy anything from a big box store (i.e. Petsmart) again. They have no idea that the products they sell are Made in China which we all know are BAD for our loved ones. Only buy products Made in the USA. All natural ingredients and RAW if possible. The store is conveniently located next door to Walgreens and a few doors down is Trader Joe's. Me and my pup come here when he's in between grooming sessions. He loves it there. The system is pretty easy to use and the price is a huge plus. If you have a big dog this is for sure worth checking out. They have a pretty good variety of shampoos and they smell rly nice for your pup. The staff is nice a friendly and they offered to let me turn the shampoo or dryer on longer if needed. They also give you collars for your dog to use in the bathtubs and they provide a towel that you return after the bath. All of the times I have come the place looks clean and well kept.
