I saw this fella immediately but waited, said if he was still at the shelter a few days later I'd go take a look. Well he was so I drove 2 hours to see him. It was love at first sight. He's such a great little dog and opened up the second day. He hit the jackpot with me as I've a huge dog community and he's been surrounded by love from the moment everyone met him. And I hit the jackpot with him . He's a total gem. The employees were extremely nice. The facility didn't leave me depressed. Was a lot cleaner than the other ones although I just looked in the front area and didn't go to the big dog area. The process to adopt Jake, now named Loki, was seamless. Glad I drove the 2 hours to grab him. He's amazing.

I arrived at 6:45 and was third in line. If paperwork is done before, it's quick. However, some options are offered without explanation. Since it's online and doesn't have explanation, I didn't select the $109 extra. I did add IV fluids, which I know helps the healing process. I also opted for sedatives, since the body heals faster when it's not in pain and rest is possible. The incision is outstanding. It's small and aligned perfectly. I'm impressed! I was told to expect a call between 1 and 3. If nobody called I was told to show up at 3. I was getting worried with no call. What if something happened? I did select DNR. I headed to pick her up, a bit anxious. I was early, but soon other people, who I saw drop their pet off in the morning, were there and hadn't received a call either. That was a relief. Whew. I waited and they slowly began to bring the pets out, after a vet came out and gave a helpful post-op care speech. At 3:45 my little one came out, looking great. It's been a couple days. She's reading well and healing great. I give high marks. I pulled one star for the worry. A call would have been so appreciated. An "out of surgery and doing well" call would have been such a relief. I was so worried that they were going to tell me something bad happened. Pricing is reasonable, staff is polite, and the place is clean. Parking is ample too.

Out here in Palm Desert we are fortunate to have some truly wonderful small businesses…read more Many of us in Sun City Palm Desert (9,000 or so residents) can be seen in our golf carts with poodles, Havanese, chiweenies, boxers, maltese, king charles spaniels, westies, greyhounds, and mixes of all of the above. We have three senior rescues who love their treats. One has a kidney condition, so she has a special diet. On Wednesday, I stopped in to Pet Oasis for the first time. We needed a little bell for our little blue heeler/GSP mix who is now deaf, so that I can hear when she is around my feet and I can keep from falling over on her. Jeannine helped me find the perfect bell plus the most amazing and reasonably priced soft treats for these old doggies. The store is gorgeous, and to a pet owner, a lot like Christmas morning. Toys, feeding pads, beds, climbers, jackets, and all kinds of colorful accessories will catch your eye. It is just a beautiful place! There is a wall full of various refrigerated meals, including one special kidney support product that appealed to us for our darling patient. There are many, many soft treats, vegan treats, and broths of several kinds. I found one amazing turkey bone broth which is kombucha inspired. This is the kind of store where I "run in to buy a couple of things" and then carry a shopping bag full of goodies. Maybe I need a secret checkbook and title the purchases "essentials". I was headed out to my husband's physical therapy session and it was a bazillion degrees outside so I left my items with Jeannine and her coworker where they'd remain cool until Incould return after. The three dogs were thrilled to get the lamb treats and the fish when we got home. Little Annie, now wearing her cat bell, gobbled up her prescription food from the vet's office which also had the broth on top. I found the prices reasonable and the assortment of flavors, whether raw or air-dried, to be extensive. My own human food cabinet is way less appealing than is their special treats drawer. Knowing Pet Oasis is here right down the street is fantastic. The people are welcoming and knowledgeable. Love for pets is in the air here. I guess I can manage to eat my broccoli frittatas and black beans every day so we can bring an appealing culinary experience to these rascals and sneak in to Pet Oasis for new surprises. "Are they spoiled" you ask. Yes they're spoiled. Little alarm clocks watching for meals and snacks in their bellies are never wrong, am I right? You can find us on the third tee greenbelt at Mountainview Golf Course, sitting on a bench on the hillock, mostly every morning, sharing treats from Pet Oasis, listening to podcasts, and smelling all the smells.

I found Tabitha shortly after adopting my dog Kestrel, about a year & a half ago. I'd never had my…read moreown dog, so even though I *thought* I was prepared, I needed all the help I could get. When Kestrel was a puppy, Tabitha helped prepare me for the basics- everything from potty training to socialization & general obedience. Having someone help guide me through the process made the "puppy stage" so much more manageable than I had anticipated it would be! As Kestrel grew out of puppyhood, she developed some poor social skills around other dogs- resource guarding me & showing signs of reactivity around other dogs. This caused a spike in my anxiety & was a major challenge for me, but Tabitha refused to give up on us. She gave me all the tools I needed to overcome my anxiety & teach Kestrel better manners around new dogs (we're not completely over that obstacle yet, but we are seeing major improvements). When I went out of town for two weeks over the summer, I trusted Tabitha to take care of my best friend knowing that she would get the same level of care & attention she gets at home, with the added bonus of social play time! I continue to take courses with Tabitha & the Coachella Valley Dog Club because I love my dog so so much & I want to continue giving her the tools she needs to thrive. We recently started scentwork training, & look forward to eventually taking agility courses as well! Kestrel has a small handful of people who she loves with an intensity that she can't contain & Tabitha is one of those people. We count on Coachella Valley Dog Club for obedience, socialization, specialty training, boarding, & even guidance with diet & supplements. Bringing home a dog of my own had been a dream of mine for years, & having Kestrel has been even better than I imagined, but I couldn't have done it without Tabitha's help!

(I do understand and respect prioritizing the mental health of the cats, but I'm sure the cats, especially the adults, would prefer a compromise, like being required to fill out a one page form on the spot before meeting). Every serious adopter that goes into a pet store and sees one of this organization's animals that they are interested in adopting and is told they have to go through this and this and this step before they can even interact with the cat and know if the personality is a fit. Everyone loses out. In my experience, even if you do go through all the steps, they won't call you back, and a cat that could have had a home I know had that opportunity taken from them because of the seemingly righteous or superior attitude of the rescue people. They surely know how many people go in and out of those cat and kitten rooms at the Animal Friends of the Valley shelter. Having a few people go in one at a time to meet one particular cat, I don't feel, is any more dangerous or unhealthy for the cat than them losing the opportunity to be adopted and eventually being put down. I just don't understand rescues like this. If you're too small to actually help, then let somebody else do it.

Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. I am so excited to finally write this review after a full year with our big guy. We are…read moretraditionally dog people but are getting older and no longer have older kids at home to help with large pets but we were very attracted to the idea of a Bengal because of their higher than usual energy. We were hoping for a good middle-ground between running dogs every day for two decades and a fat house cat and we really feel like we got exactly what we were dreaming of and so much more. Her kittens were impeccable and we can't even believe how lucky we got with our male. He was instantly affectionate and loving towards us. My husband was very wary of cats and believed all of them were skittish and stand-offish. I had a childhood cat and remembered them being easy to own. I convinced him to let me get this kitten after our last dog passed because he was so gorgeous and as masculine as a sweet kitty could possibly look. We were so impressed with Dad when we met him in person and our little guy ended up looking just as handsome now that he's almost fully grown. Even other bengal owners are always blown away by his unusual coloring and shine. This is a cat even my husband is so proud to own after years of telling me cats were for women. Lol They are best buddies and sometimes I feel like I bought my own dream cat but my husband was the one who ended up with the best friend. He has zero negative health issues and has only needed to see the vet for regular vaccinations and altering. We have so much comfort in knowing that he has only eaten human grade food as we have continued the breeder's extraordinary meal plan. We have been a lifelong long kibble and canned food combo users and we had absolutely no idea how low the quality of food that is allowed to be given as animal grade even in the most expensive pet food. Our aunt just lost her sweet male cat to a urinary blockage and we had no idea how common they are in cats fed commercial foods. We take him everywhere with us and he is a huge comfort to me because of my anxiety. Everybody wants to interact with him and love on him and he really takes a lot of pressure off situations for me. I have never known a cat to be so willing to greet a large groups of people and people can't believe how calm he is. We did take the breeders advice and alter him before sexual maturity. He has never even once had an accident outside the litter box or on grass at home or in public. After decades of puppies I was ready for months of potty training. I had no idea how incredible a well raised kitten is at using the litter box exclusively. It was an absolute dream transition bringing him into our home. He has changed my life. We have not gotten a second bengal only because we love so much that we are able to travel with him and worry that flights, imposing on friends when we stay, etc would be too difficult with more than him but I am so tempted every time I see your posts of new litters. We have been life long animal adores but we never knew we could experience a bond with an animal like this.
