Prices better than the supermarket. The cat was from the pound and isn't as picky as you would guess. He is his own kitty with his own tastes. The dog was being fed Purina Pro Plan and I figured it would be best to keep him on the same steady diet. A disappointment with adoption today as well as the phone system does allow you to talk to anyone. On October 6th I met Milles. A beautiful orange cat 2yrs. I wanted to get my a room ready, so I decided to go back today. He was gone . I had ordered a large litter box, etc. for him. They don't have a policy for hold a cat for 1 day and the phone system is useless. I don't want another cat. I have 3 at home. I'm stopping my monthly donation. read more

I would like to thank the staff of this dynamic store for all their support and assistance in helping us take care of our Isabelle. With mobility issues, it`s difficult to get out and get what you need for your pets. "Chewy" was an answer for a short time but they have become hugely unreliable in the past two years. Pet Supplies Plus had what we needed and it was usually in our home the same day or the next. The pricing is very good, and if you find it cheaper, they may match that! Enough can not be said of their personalized TLC for our pets in our community. Unfortunately, our Isabelle crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 16 last Sunday. Our home is not the same. Along with the many memories of our beloved, Isabelle will be the memories of the dynamic people working in this store whose voices Isabelle learned to connect with new food! During this Covid craziness, I've often wished that the store carried people food, as well as pet food. The store is always very clean, staff always in masks, and I continue to feel very comfortable and safe shopping there. Despite the shortages everywhere, the shelves here are always stocked. Litter and cat food prices are below most grocery chain stores. And the toy selection continues to keep my dog happy! The store also mails and texts useful coupons and discounts as part of their frequent shopper program. Highly recommend this store! read more

Once again, my expectations were met at this location: product availability, friendly service, and easy in & out.

I come here quite a bit for food & such for my pampered 7-year-old tiger cat. During the last few visits, I've had to ask staff to lift 25-lb boxes of cat litter into the trunk of my car, as I have temporary lifting restrictions, & they did so cheerfully & promptly. I & other customers are always greeted upon arrival at the store. Their prices are competitive with other places & the parking is easy in, easy out with their designated Barking Spots (lol). After spending way too much at PetSmart, etc., finally made our way here after picking up some bagels from Uncommon Grounds. Surprisingly, they had a comparable, if not better, selection than most of the larger pet retailers out there. And-- for the things we were looking for at least-- the prices were far better. It's just a pet store right? You Have to go there if you want to keep your pet alive, right? Wrong. There's pet stores and then there's friendly, helpful & pleasant pet stores. Our pup eats one type of dog food and this place happens to have it so we come here whenever we need a refill. Plain and simple. We come here because we must, but it is nice that the staff is so friendly and their hours are relatively accommodating. I often walk in with my pup sniffing up the joint and walk out with my hands full, a heavy bag of dog food and my little critter tugging at one of my forearms in excitement. The staff is very in cognizant of this and is always ready to ask if I need help out to my car... I appreciate that! They also have gone above and beyond in my book. I had somewhat of a dog food emergency a few months back- enter Per Supplies to the rescue! I realized that we had probably 1 kernel of dog food left about 2 minutes before the store closed- the day before a holiday! (I didn't actually know it was about to close until I spoke to them on the phone). I called to check the hours, almost had a heart attack when I realized they were about to close, pleaded my case and the girl on the other end was incredibly accommodating and was kind enough to stay a bit later to make sure my pup didn't starve. I ONLY buy something here that I'm going to use anyway for my dog or cat. Their bulk treats are $2 more than the same bulk treats at Healthy Pet Center. Dog food is more expensive. Elk antlers, bully sticks etc. are all more expensive than at Benson's. They usually have cats available for adoption in a cage, so if your dog is cat-aggressive, please leave them at home. :-) I am so hesitant to write this part of the review because now everyone else will buy all the good stuff we like... The BEST THING about them is they mark stuff down depending on how close it is to the expiration date. We've gotten a 25lb bag of Orijen for $30 before. They do 75% off, 50% off and 25%. Earlier today we picked up a bag of Pill Pockets that were normally 8.98, on sale for 6.98 with store card... they were 75% off because they expire April 17, so we got them for a grand total of 26 CENTS. Can't beat that!!!!! So we go in once a month or so to peruse the aisles and see if any of our normal buys are on sale or marked down. Otherwise, go to Benson's. read more

This is the only place locally that seems to carry sweaters for dogs bigger than a breadbox. PetCo and PetSmart apparently only think tiny dogs get cold or need to be styling. Not so! Considering it's been well below freezing here in the great Northeast, my pooch --- all 160 pounds of him -- has been cold. But he needs his exercise. I tried pricing XXL sweaters online and the cheapest I could find was about 60 bucks. After running into another mastiff and his owner, I got the scoop on where to score my boy a fleecy vest. I went in today after meeting friends for coffee next door and found only one XXL in stock. Fortunately, it was a decent olive green one with velcro fasteners. Best of all, it was only $22 and the salesclerk told me I could bring it back if it didn't fit. Luckily, it does. Thank you Pet Supplies Plus. read more
