Sunday, 7/27, recognizing the youngish female staff , who is unhelpful, unfriendly and wearing resting miserable face, is not only indifferent, but also disinterested in being helpful. Service at one time was adequate, but this Petco location in specific is dreadful as far as staffing a "team member" who is not good with the public. I feel sorry for the animals housed there,l. He didnt need a cut only wash, but the groomer INSISTED on trimming around his pee and anal area to prevent staining. THIS is what she did! Literally shaved his bottom area haphazardly and charged also shaved ALL of his anal area and nicked his anal area because there was blood when he pooped and I could see the cut. My poor baby. The Mgr gaslighted me saying she wasn't concerned as if nothing happened. Zero accountability Zero care. Never again!! He just got a low cut 4 weeks ago and his mane was growing back out nicely. I take Winston to this Petco mostly for his grooming and nail trimmings. I LOVE the staff at the grooming center and they're always so friendly and welcoming to walk-in's. I've been a customer at the grooming center for about 4 years since I moved to East Dallas and the staff are always so happy to see Winston. So much easier to take him to get his nails trimmed than me attempting to do it at home! The grooming center is usually very clean and consistent. Super quick to get his nails done. I also sometimes buy treats and dog food here. Mostly little odds and ends. They sell Fresh Pet and a good variety of dog foods when I need to make a quick trip. Prices are pretty good and they sometimes have items on sale. However, I prefer to purchase dog food at Pet Supplies Plus since they seem to have a greater selection. Recommended for dog nail trimmings and seems the haircut styles and trimmings look good from what I've seen on the dogs in the grooming center. read more

I took my golden doodle in to get groomed for the third time since I moved to the area. I told the person working and taking him in that he's been brushed regularly, should not be matted and therefore we do not want him to be completely shaved like he was the first time, at which point we were charged extra for matted fur. I watched her go through his hindquarters for with a comb and she said " this area is a little tough but should be workable and we shouldn't need to shave it, I'll let you know if we run into any issues." She called my partner who is picking him up and aggressively told him she can't do anything for our dog without shaving him because his fur is so matted in some areas. When he asked her a question about tools she was using, she said I'm not going to finish your dog, you need to get him now" and she hung up the phone. When he came to pick up, she immediately started raising her voice and telling him that his ball sack was matted and stuck to his leg. However, the dog is fixed and does not have a ball sack. When he asked her some questions about why she's trying to comb a curly haired dog with a fine tooth comb, she refused to answer, She went on to say he needs to take care of his dog and started yelling when he tried to take the leash from her. She continued yelling at him as he was trying to leave and shut the door behind him. This Petco grooming center does not understand how to not only properly cut a golden doodles hair, but they have terrible customer service and victim mentality if a customer is unhappy or questioning the service they're paying for. read more

Brought my puppy in to get her hair cut. It took them SIX hours and they did not give her a potty break at all. The cut was way shorter than asked for. It was sloppy and left with some bald spots. She has a razor mark left on her butt. So the lack of consideration shows me my dog was not safe there. Her tail was not finished grooming. When I called to see why it was taking so long to get my pup back the manager was extremely disrespectful and ended up hanging up on me. I would not bring your dog here for services. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I ordered a diaper for same day delivery for my female dog who just got her period and what I got was something completely different. The box was correct and what I had ordered but the tape on it had been ripped and the box was opened. Hmm... I used to have a review for Petco on here, but it seems to have dissapeared. I have been going to this Petco for two years now and I'm in there at least twice a month picking up food or treats for our puppies. (Hubby and I have three greyhounds and they eat a lot of food!!). I can see that others have had bad experiences with this location however I have never experienced anything bad here. I've never seen animals poorly taken care of, and I've always had an incredible experience with the staff here. They have great deals on quality dog food and some great treat selections! I always see happy animals in clean cages, several times I've even seen one of the employees carrying around one of the cats from the adoption center cuddling it. Back in the unenlightened days of my youth, this Petco was my go-to store for all things pet related. It was close to home, had reasonable prices and carried the food that I used to feed my dogs. I've since learned that by giving my money to a business that could care less about the live animals in its care, I might as well be abusing the animals myself. I've personally witnessed mammals in cages with no access to food and/or water and dead fish floating in fish tanks. For those two reasons alone, I stopped shopping at Petco. Against my better judgment, I stopped in to buy some discounted after-Christmas toys for my dogs. As soon as I walked through the front door the stink of dirty animal cages almost knocked me on my butt. Along with the smell was a disgustingly dirty floor. I was only 2 feet in the door and was so repelled that I turned around and walked back out. Worst place I have been, took my 2 dogs for full grooming service, the little one a malashi they cut all his hair short even when i told them I didnt want it short, they forgot to shape one of the ears, and the face was all messed up, the big one... a shepkita i payed for full de-shedding which they did not do, they just gave her basically a bath and the worst is that they cut the nails so short that they started bleeding after i took her out for a walk, went back to the store and they refused to give me my money back, they offered to pay for vet services and now I have a dog that can't walk because she is hurt. I've been taking my dogs to Petco to get groomed since they were pups, I recently moved away from my original location (University Park) so I had to start taking my boys to the Casa Linda/Buckner location. Long story short. My 1yr old Great Pyrenees, Ducky, had an appointment at 3pm, but his groomer today (Aretha) told my mom to bring him in earlier so she could start on him early. So my mom brings him in at 12:15pm, comes back around 3:30pm and Aretha still hadn't even started on him as she was working with another dog. My poor baby was LOCKED UP IN A CAGE WITH NO WATER for 3 hours!!!!! Are you kidding me???? Why ask to bring him in early if you're just going to lock him up? He has a lot of fur he gets hot quick, at least give him some water to drink!!!! Decided to just bring my big boy home and find him a new grooming place. Ok so I go in today for dog grooming for my mini schnauzer. I have been coming her for a while ( almost a year or close to it, his normal place for his first 9 years Pawtique closed so I had to find a new groomer) so I have always felt comfortable bringing my dog here until today! My appt was at 10. I bring him in and they pull up my appt. One lady was like I can't believe he is 12 he doesn't act like it, I'm like yea he's old he has a bit of arthritis but he's in good shape. Then some lady ask if he is on medication ( her name is Alicia). I'm like yea he takes an arthritis medication, Then she ( Alicia) tells me they can't groom any dogs on medication. I'm like what?? You can't groom a dog that takes medicine, that doesn't make sense. If that was the case then you would have no dogs in here umm dogs takes a flea, tick, heart worm meds every month so miss me with that bs. Then (Alicia with her condescending tone) says she has to call my vet to verify his medication dosage and what it's for in order to groom him. I'm like seriously. ok so she's calls the vet verifies everything and then acts likes she is doing us a favor by saying " Thank you for being honest!"And "I normally don't do this but since you have been coming here and I like you guys so I will go ahead and take him," (you likes us ? really ? Thanks for being honest ? I have never met you until today, I have never lied about my dog being old or having any conditions) I don't need you to like me I need you to groom my dog! but if your like me a woman of color you will understand everything I mean in this post. ( like I don't know what I'm doing with a dog!) Now when I first starting coming here my dog was not on arthritis meds he just recently got on meds this past summer so it's possible they did not no that, but this post has nothing to do with the groomers, I have had Kenny and Lauren and they are both awesome groomers! so Thank U guys for grooming my dog!!! She also stopped grooming my 5 month old puppy and did service for another dog. I didn't get my baby back for about 4.5 hours, I have a picky eater and he was starving when he got home. I am honestly so upset with not only how the groomers at this Petco approach me and my pet's needs in the salon, there is nothing that can be done to rectify and Petco has lost my business forever. After even escalating to their corporate office, the case manager had the nerve to leave a detailed message with her "resolution" without the courtesy to waiting to at least speak with me. The groomers here are so uneducated, Petco obviously sets the bar extremely low hiring the least desirable at lowest wages people who have no social skills, much less to communicate with the owner but not even kind or compassionate enough to try and relate or reassure a dog who is getting dropped off for grooming. What dog doesn't want to get groomed and leave their owner? After I saw how poorly the staff acted, corporate puppets who discriminated against my pet for his age and accused him of having a health condition! Also lied to me saying Petco doesn't serve dogs over age 7 when he'd been groomed 2 months prior at the same shop by the only normal and sane person in the grooming salon, a younger AA girl, pretty kind and with good communication skills!!! My dog doesn't have a tail and shakes his rear and hind legs when he's excited/anxious/nervous, the staff was cruel to me and my dog and kicked us out saying "your dog is to old" we don't work on "old dogs". I honestly was so mad I was spitting nails, their corporate response was pathetic stated in a voicemail we did it to protect you! Well damn right, I'm glad this happened I honestly wouldn't trust either of those old goats with my precious pet and look at this as a blessing in disguise. Imagine the fact I took my dog across the lake to PetSmart explained the situation to an actual person with social skills who asked questions, understood my concerns and made an effort to relate to my pet who happily went with him got groomed and was treated well. I wonder if the staff at Buckner Petco have abused my dog in the past thus his apprehension. I mean, normally groomers are smiling and friendly, not fighting over who is going to take the client! Anyway I hate to be so negative as I said NOTHiNG Petco can do to save my business they burned their bridges and I'd be careful as a consumer before going to this sweatshop of grooming! Also their prices are more expensive then other groomers they obviously pay minimum wage, corporate pockets the profits and provides them lowest life form of groomers as employees. If you are in the area go to PetSmart on the east side of the lake, much more professional and sane staff. I had never been to a Petco before and this was a most unpleasant experience. They had some sort of dog consultation line in the back right in front of (and obstructing) one of the main cat aisles. I was looking for cat things so this was rather inconvenient. When I asked an employee for help with the canned food (because the stalls were empty) she immediately told me those were the only sizes of cans available from a brand of cat food I was looking for when I know for sure that's not true since I buy the bigger ones at Petsmart all the time. There were three big trash bins full of trash bags in the back right in front of the cat litter area. They must have been there for some time since it smelled pretty bad and one of them was covered in flies. I'm Casa Linda Petco stays busy. It give me Wookie and Princes Leia Star Wars apparel and toys. It's not often that I need help but I never have a problem finding someone. I keep close to the bargain bins and they have a good Grooming department. If life gets to hectic they'll call you and help you schedule an appointment. Wookie just went for his salon appointment and doesn't look thrown away. His Mommy has been really busy. You can drop your pup off early and get a call when their all ready to go. I used my coupon and bought some snacks (Wookie birthday coupon $5.00) and I was still under $47.00 which is the normal cost for a wash and cut. I basically get treats for free. YaY! read more

This is our usual go-to store for healthy and natural cat food for our cat who has allergies. Lots of choices and prices ranges. I just wonder about their pet adoption policies. I don't know anything about it, but I just wonder how box stores treat their animals. That said, we have been pleased with the food and toy selection for our pet, so I have no complaints. Prices to me seem reasonable if you buy good quality pet food. If you buy the cheapy stuff then obviously you'll get better prices at Walmart. read more

I'm surprised by these negative comment/experiences I'm reading about. I usually take my lab to the firewheel location for his grooming but his groomer was out of town this time so I tried out the buckner location. I couldn't be happier with my choice! I'm not saying Firewheel location is bad by any means but we enjoyed our experience at Casa Linda location. I don't want to speak too soon but I think my little buddy found a new best friend here last night. Our groomer's name was Alicia and she couldn't have been more profesional or friendly. Not to mention she squeezed us in as the last appointment for her day, when she didn't have to due to the time frame. I've tried out quite a few different petco grooming locations and without a doubt we will be back to see Alicia again soon. I took my dog here to the petco casa linda, she came back with her eyes slightly red and irritated, I brushed it off as allergies. The next morning her eyes where closed shut she couldn't open them at all. I called petco and told them about the situation they sent me to a sub par vet near by where I had to spend 2 hours of my day... At least petco covered the bill.... Which didn't help much. My dog ended up having a bacterial infection in her eyes which she got from the grooming center of petco. Very unsanitary I would stear clear from petco and this particular location. read more

It stocks the food he was weaned on, which is that holistic stuff. They have lots of different variety of dog/cat food, ranging from the organic stuff to the regular store brand. However one of the things that I do love about Petco over Petsmart is the treat station. With a variety and flavours of treats and biscuits, Enzo gets his pick of whatever he wants! read more

The cashiers at this location are the worst. They barely do their job. I walked up to check out and there were two of them talking. I stopped because I couldn't even tell that their registers were open. One was leaning back with his arms crossed and it was not clearly marked that he was an employee. I thought he was a friend of the other cashier. They turned and looked at me for a few seconds, like they were wondering what was wrong with me. Well hmm, I can't even tell that you're working! Petco is over-priced and the reason I usually shop here is because there's on other pet stores located in the area. The sales help was very helpful and even went back to check double check the price. I find that is always a plus when they go the extra mile. The location is very nicely put but kind of hard to spot at first. The size of Petco is alright and I'm very odded out that they actually had grooming here--it's rare to see. Overall, I'll definitely shop here more often as long as the prices don't exceed my budget. read more

I would like to start by saying I have been taking my puppy to this location for grooming services since he started getting haircuts and I must say I was always pleased with the service. My puppy received his last haircut on Nov. 25th and about ten days later I found out that he had parvo, which is the general timeframe for symptoms to occur after exposure. My puppy is fully vaccinated, inside all the time, and never around any other dogs so I believe he was exposed during his grooming session. I called to inform Petco of the situation and left a voicemail. I never received a callback, which is very disappointing. I understand there isn't anything that they could do about the situation, but they could at least called back to assure me of their sanitary measures and show care or concerned about the pets that are coming into their locations. Any other time I have had to leave voicemails for grooming I would always receive​​ a callback the same day. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!! I took my puppy in for just a bath and they ended up shaving her because of a mat on her back? I brush her regularly but she is a hyper active puppy so her hair is going to get matted from time to time from rolling around. I agreed to a haircut however it was not necessary for them to completely shave her. About an hour later I received a call from the groomer saying only half of my dog had been SHAVED, they said they "barely cut" her inside leg and ended up having to take her to the vet for surgical glue and an antibiotic shot. She is a Maltese puppy so you can imagine how she looks now. They also say she now has to remain this was for 3 weeks. after arguing with the groomer and speaking to the manager they finally agreed to not charge me. No shit!! but now my dog is terrified of the groomer/ vet/ car/ etc... THANKS PETCO! NEVER RETURNING!!!! do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Ummmm..... petco. No. I'm not emailing you. Speak to your MANAGEMENT and GROOMING STAFF. I've already done my part. You have ALREADY wasted an entire day I didn't have to waste in the first place.
