Stopped by for a last minute birthday treat + new toy for my beloved dog and was unfortunately disappointed by the "fresh baked" goods here. The treats were all dry, hard, and didn't look appetizing whatsoever. I unfortunately had no other option as it was already late and I was just visiting from out of town so I purchased a bone shaped biscuit. Once I got home, I broke pieces of it off so it wasn't a choking hazard for my dog. Unfortunately, 75% of it went to waste. Do not recommend. I will say that the only employees were friendly and there was a decent selection of toys to choose from for my birthday girl. read more

Very sad to do this because I was a VERY frequent customer, but noticed recently noticed the prices of a couple of brands I normally buy went up and the brands are one thing, but just went back after being out of town a week and walking around, it seemed like EVERYTHING I normally buy went up at least a dollar or two and I literally asked if ALL of the prices went up, and to my surprise... they actually said yes and they don't know why. It's not the customer service that's the issue. Don't know if it's under new management or what, but my dogs food alone already $5 more here and now everything else going up even more??? I put my, already expensive, dog's food back up and going where I know it's cheaper and even though they are the closest place to me, I will go further for the price. And it is Garland, not Dallas, so unfortunately with major price increases with everything, they are just going to loose more business, on top of mine. Very unfortunate with the gaining the business like before with good products at a good prices, now there's soooooo many other cheaper places around. UPDATE: It's not letting me reply directly to the response from Pet Supply below, but yes I've already been part of the savings program for years, so the prices going up doesn't benefit me at all. I'm very happy to give this store 5 stars! I've always had 5 star treatment and service. I have two kitties that have issues sometimes and need something special. Everyone has been knowledgeable and helpful- especially when I'm a little distressed over the kitties distress. If they don't know the answer, then they consult and get me the right products. Always a well trained and helpful team. Kudos to management. They are very conveniently located for my needs and the store is just right sized I don't get lost or have to look forever to find what I need. They have good email communications, but none of the sales ever seem to apply to my purchases. read more

I had an incident with a bag of dog food in which the bag accidentally got ripped and there was food all over the place. Juan and Jose saw what happened and didn't even think twice, they were quick at helping me with the bag and cleaning up. I took my puppy here for her vaccinations. My daughter who also had a dog at the same age went as well. They will immediately talk you into all of these extra things that you need to add on. After you get the shots, the micro chips, and the heart worm medicine, they tell you you must come back in 28 days and do it all over again. The second time we went they try to add on more stuff that we needed. Then they told us we had to come back in 28 days and do it again. This time both of our dogs got sick. Mine was worse, she had diarrhea for six days. When we went back for the third round and I told them that my dog got sick they said they would not give her her final shots and I would have to find someone else. They did not offer any suggestions. They simply said they won't do it. At this point, I had already spent over $200 for their services. Now I have to find another place just to get the last shot. Also, the doctor or vet who administers the medication is not gentle at all and almost acts like he doesn't even like pets. The staff that works inside the store are very polite the staff that does the shots are irritated with their job and will make you wait for an extremely long time before telling you you have to go home. Save yourself some time and just start off at a veterinarian clinic. You are not saving money or time and chances are you are risking your pet. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because both times the people working the registers, were very friendly and willing to help with anything but the vaccine people are a different company or a different part of the company I guess. read more

I love this store and especially this location. Their selection of high quality dry and raw dog food is the best I've found in Dallas, and the staff is very knowledgeable. I have 4 dogs. One has cancer and one with allergies. Glen (I believe is his name) has helped me so much with choosing the best food for my fur kids and their issues. For that I am very grateful! read more

I absolutely love this location! I buy 50 lbs at a time and although I can handle the weight by myself, I never have to thanks to the caring associates here. Tonight, I walked in 15 minutes to closing (I know, shame on me) and encountered two associates that greeted me instantly and asked if I needed any assistance. I informed them that I only needed one item and quickly located my 50lb bag of food for my pups. Before I could grab my bag, this young blonde haired man took over and placed it in my cart then escorted me to the front so that he could carry it out to my vehicle and load it for me! Boy do I regret driving to Rowlett all this time for Petco! This place is less than 10 mins from me, and has the most supplies I've ever seen for small pets! Specifically, rabbits! I hate shopping for my bunny because most places even if they claim to have a whole aisle, a little shelf of that aisle has miniscule choices, almost no variety in treats or toys, really anything for him. It's one (unhealthy) option and that's it. Bunnies are intelligent, wonderful pets! He deserves some variety in his hippity hoppity life! This place has a whole aisle for bunnies and ferrets, and they mean it! PLENTY of foods to choose from, including their own made there. And, totally affordable!! I got about 2 months worth of hay, 2 different types of boxes of treats, a carrot wheel and a toy for less than 20$$! Love it I won't go anywhere else! read more

I love this store - the brand- BUT if you have a sale tag on the item and it's starting tomorrow - then you should honor the sale price. I use to work retail, a customer service manager, and you put the new prices out right after your customers leave and close the doors. This has happened A few times already. It's 8pm an hour before you close. So it wasn't like i was walking in right before you close. I usually don't go in after 830 because I don't want to be one of those late customers and the employees just want to close and go home. I've noticed the service go down a bit as well. The new people are not as great as the people that have been there for the past year. They were more on top of things, faster service, and friendlier. read more

I have shopped here a couple of times and I really like this store! It's clean, organized and has everything I'm looking for. Bonus points for the scale -- love it! My only complaint is that every time I have gone in, there is always the same bored store clerk standing behind the counter. He constantly asks us if we are 'ready to check out' in his monotone voice and does not seem like he is even happy to be there. It's not like I'm asking for him to jump up and down with excitement but he clearly has no interest in the dogs that come in. Hands down the best pet supply store! Yes they always have what I'm looking for but most importantly they have the most amazing service. I recently adopted another pup and I'm not used to getting around with two leashes pulling me this way and that. The manager of the store was so unbelievably helpful and literally walked me through everything I was looking for. She held my dogs leashes for me and then pushed my cart around for me. There was even a big boss that was visiting their store and he took the time to read out all the Ingredients to help me find a better food for both my dogs. They even let me use an expired coupon just for my troubles. And to end my experience, the manager pushed my cart out to my car for me, she was the sweetest. This particular location is the best place around for pet food and pet supplies. Their prices are good and the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They even have a Sunday clinic for low cost pet vaccines and other pet heath services! I won't shop anywhere else they've spoiled me. read more

I love shopping at this store! I've not only never had a bad experience, but pretty much every time I go in (which is fairly often) I'm impressed. I'm always greeted with a genuinely friendly face and offered assistance. I personally strive in my own job to offer exceptional service, and my workplace greatly values our customers/clients and prides itself on proving that daily. So when I go anywhere and service is anything less than what they should and could offer, it's glaringly obvious. I've just accepted the fact that mediocre and subpar service is to be expected most places, but this PSP location rocks. Big box grocery stores can't match this place. Other pet stores really don't come close to pet supplies when it comes to the variety of pet foods. I purchase both cat and dog foods here. I have to say that they had some steep discounts on wet cat food very recently and when compared to Kroger I saved about 60% and I have never enjoyed a substantial discount at Kroger where I typically buy my cat food. My cash balance is just a little bit better now thanks to pet supplies plus. Will have to keep my eyes open for more discounted pet food. read more

I had to switch my dog food and they told me about "I and love and you" my dogs and cat love this food. they are always willing to help you get what you need even if they dont have it in stock they will try to get it at that location if another store has it. I frequent this pet store often since we live very close to it. The place is kept clean, and everyone is willing to help out when needed. There's one girl there that seems VERY knowledgable about training and seems to know her store and what products they have. She even helped me in depth when I had to use an aversive training tool for one of my clients who had cancer and could not be pulled by her St. Bernard. She gave me a few videos to look up online and how to correctly use it. Most of the staff know my dog by name and make sure to give him treats and tell him how cute he is... You know we all love compliments like that! Overall, great store and most of the staff has been there since day one. read more

I took off a star because I dislike being being harassed and tag teamed by store personnel after I've politely declined assistance. I'm an experienced pet owner ( rescuer) and I don't like explaining why I select certain brands of food/litter. Also please stop pushing only one brand of food. I've listened to the same pitch five times in one visit. The store is neat and tidy and well stocked. Personnel is friendly but should allow customers to shop at their leisure , they'll buy more if they don't feel store personnel is (literally) hovering two feet away after being told that you don't need help. read more
