I don't even know where to start!!! Well I guess I can start by saying the staff aren't very helpful at all. I took my dog for a haircut and bath. When I booked online they had two options one was full service for $99 and the other was for bath and brush which was $73. They make you pay first before even seeing your pet. Well I read the bath and brush wrong so that was my fault. But one of the workers started to explain that they would have to charge me an extra fee for an undercoat, I was like, my dog doesn't have an undercoat at all. My dog's hair is very thin and she doesn't shed. So right off the back I knew she was lying. Ok. So I ordered the bath and brush package which once again I thought it was with a haircut, and when the staff worker mentioned the cutting of the undercoat, I was under the impression that she was getting a cut as well.. mind you. Let me back to this bath and brush package. That includes nail trim and scissoring the paws. So when I got my dog back. NO Haircut, No Nail cut, No scissoring the paws. It was just a bath and a brush period. So I spend $73 PLUS an extra $15 for some Brush out short hair charge.. whatever the hell that means. SO $88 for a bath. I considered myself a loyal Customer up till today. The prices are great and the curbside/ delivery services are convenient, but your Customer Service needs Improvement. I came in today to buy a 40lb bag of seed for my bird feeders and asked a Staff Member for assistance. I have purchased this item in the past, but could not locate it. She too could not locate it. I asked if she could ask a Colleague to check if the item was located elsewhere. She ignored my request and walked away. Plaid supplies overall are very good store do a lot of rescue work and they're more than happy to help you find a rescue animal or let you show rescue animals in their stores. I usually go to the Tinley park or Plainfield plant supplies plus do use the dog wash those locations have separate dog washes, but here in Montgomery, they have all four bays in one room. That's quite a mess of hair water and just dogs in general. I did get my dog washed here but I won't be returning just because I like to have a separate room too much cross-contamination when you have four bays altogether read more

We only shop here for our dogs food because of the proximity to our home and the great rewards program/coupons they have. But after today, I will more than likely just stick with curbside or delivery, or find elsewhere to go. I had a free food reward that had to be used in store, so I went in. Our puppy's food was on the top of the shelf, so I asked an associate for help. He proceeded to tell me that he shouldn't help me because I'm choosing the "garbage food". I literally thought he was joking and chuckled because I thought there was no way he was being serious. He continued on about how the food I choose "probably causes cancer in dogs", and it's ingredients are trash. He went on and on, and asked why I give my pet that. Not that I even owed him a defense in what I choose to feed MY dog, I stated that it is the only one she eats and for her digestive tract, and that her vet recommends it. He told me my vet was wrong, and vets "don't know what they're talking about when it comes to that". I wanted to ask where his doctorate degree was from and how he knows so much on the subject, but I held back. He also told me every single dog he's ever seen that eats this food, is overweight and doesn't look good. I get it, the job of a associate is to probably upsell a more expensive type of food. Which he also tried to do because his pets eat better than mine. But my dogs food is not a cheaper, bottom quality food either. In no way, shape or form did I ask for this employee's opinion. He presented his opinion to me when I asked for help getting a 31lb bag of food from the back stock on top of their shelves. That's it. Highly unprofessional, and made me quite upset afterwards because he was basically trying to publicly shame me in front of other customers and employees. It was embarrassing for me, and I truly didn't know how to react to him. I actually passed by another woman who was in the same aisle and she gave me a look like is this dude really serious? Prior to this I have had great experiences with everyone there, but this guy really ruined it for me. His attitude and demeanor is a huge deterrent from shopping there. read more

We have a low cost vaccination clinic that comes in monthly. And I think it's a great asset for the community. There's also a self service dog wash that is nice for those quick baths or muddy puppies. Plus, we clean the mess! It's very affordable with $10 a wash! Or you can pre pay washes on a punch card and it's cheaper! Management here is phenomenal, I've worked in some pretty terrible situations with poor management in the past. They are not only kind and understanding, but they listen. They are always willing to go above and beyond for our "neighbors" too. And that warms my heart. Making a customers day is the honestly the best part of my job. Whether it's when they pick up their dog from grooming and they are overjoyed by how cute they are, or assisting one with a product, question, information, and they are so grateful for the knowledge we provided. I, along with fellow coworkers are always reading and learning more about animals. Especially dogs! We love to help out everyone with nutritional advice, grooming, training, even guide them in the right direction to veterinary care, whether it's a local clinic we all use and trust or our low-cost that comes in. I had been having trouble with the goldfish in our fish tank for weeks and had been looking for many solutions online and from others. I walked in and Kara was SUPER helpful. She stopped what she was doing and answered all my questions. Kara also asked me some questions to figure our my issues with my tank and recommend some additional things. I have a highly allergic cat that requires a special diet. This store has a fantastic selection of cat food variety and brands, some of which I thought were exclusively sold online. Definitely check here before placing an online order somewhere else. The store is extremely clean and organized. The cat food aisle is impeccable. I was shocked. It was so straight and there was still an employee making it straighter! Best of all, their prices (at least on the canned cat food) are far below what the other chain stores charge. What costs me $1.20 elsewhere I can buy for $0.89 here on sale or $0.98 regular. Great rewards club too. The store has been out of my cat's favorite food for over a week, which is disappointing. Staff is always so friendly when we come in! I have three huskies and they are quite a handful but they always make us feel right at home! We take them there to get groomed as well and we always have a positive expierience. Our female husky is named Nova and whenever she comes out of getting groomed they give her a cute bandana that we love we have also done the self cleaning wash (especially when we take them to the dog park and it's quite muddy and need to be cleaned up ASAP) and the facilities are clean and the shampoo they provide leave our babies smelling great and super soft! We don't go to the big box pet stores as much anymore- we prefer to shop local. And pet supplies plus is definitely a place we prefer to shop at! read more

I've been a customer for a while with a couple dogs and reptiles with my daughter. I have been taking my mothers dog for grooming for the past couple years and haven't had many complaints from her. I have a soft coated Wheaton Terrier and called around and couldn't get him in any place including our normal groomer until September. Well I thought I'd give it a shot. What a mistake. His hair is cut really short and it doesn't look any better than I could have done myself with scissors and shears. They said he was aggressive and they couldn't finish the grooming. He's 6 years old and we've never had a groomer tell us this. He is sensitive about his feet but not aggressive. He is only aggressive when he senses it in others. Maybe they should work on getting trained groomers and not high school kids doing it for a part time job. When we called they weren't at all apologetic. Basically they were done with us. We were told he's not welcome back. Don't worry, we won't be back for anything. read more

The store is very clean and we'll stocked but I have noticed when I was buying the Royal Canine dog food the shelf life was less than one month. I was buying bulk biscuits too and now I wonder about their shelf life. I was also taking my dog there to be groomed. The groomer made the appointment with me but didn't put it in the book. The other groomer agreed to squeeze him in. He acted quiet and kept looking at me, I saw right away he was throwing his leg out when sitting. Going to the vet, they said bad knee. He wound up being on anti inflammation medication for a long time. He never had any problems before this and he was only a year old. I didn't report it be a because the knee issue is common but I wish I would have because he has never suffered like that in the two years since. read more

I have a mini poodle. I brush him 3x a week. Every time I've taken him on to her s cut, I tell them EXACTLY what I want. Details my 7 year old could follow with even a picture!!!! He's had a hair cut there about 4x and 4 because I've tried different people Hoping someone would do a good job and follow directions. It's so close to my home. But nope! They always shave him and he comes back looking like a straight up rat. Last time I said Do NOT GIVE him a POODLE CUT!!!!!! I don't want him shaved down the face, I want his face to have the fur it has just trim in. Well He comes back with an ugly poodle ball on his tail, shaved to the shortest guard you could and totally bald on his face. The lie they tell Him, he was matted! Mind you in between those 4 cuts I've gone other places that are a longer drive. And I specifically asked them do you consider him matted? Because I brush him out weekly. The other groomer says NOT AT all he's just got curl to him but we can comb through it so definitely not matted. She says sounds like the other place just has a lazy staff that rushes through. Well yes, if you see these girls....they all look like they rolled outta bed and slept in their uniforms. If you have a dog with long hair! Your better off doing the cut yourself than coming here. Either way if you mess up it'll end up looking the same but you wouldn't have wasted the money. Yes George it's probably me...last name starts with a Z now. Look there's nothing much I think you can do. The girls that work there seem lazy and just don't want to cut my dogs hair. While I like shopping there, I won't go back. I took my rescue dog for a bath and a nail trim. The first time was fine, but the second time, they cut his nose and didn't say anything to me. The groomer said it was there when he bathed him. It was not there when I took him in. I don't know how you cut a nose when you're only giving a bath and filing nails!
