After taking my 4 year ol, 10 lb. dog there for grooming services for the past 1 year and 1/2, they switched groomer techs yet again today and as a result, my dog was traumatized by their tech and then I was called & told not to bring my dog back there after today!! Additionally, I walked by their doggie daycare room too today and witnessed their employee just walking around randomly spraying water in those poor dogs faces when they were obviously stressed out or just wanted her to pet them and comfort them! Why anyone would pay to have their pets traumatized by these unprofessional people is beyond me! read more

**REGARDING DOGGIE DAY CAMP/HOTEL** I was very disappointed during my recent visit to PetSmart. I was waiting for my dog to finish at the grooming salon and I witnessed a worker at the Doggie Day Camp spraying dogs in the face with a water bottle for NO REASON. When he noticed me watching, he hid the bottle, which added to my suspicion. It's sad that pet parents entrust them with their pets and pay big money for services and this is how they behave. I tried to do a return at this location and Michael was acting like a jerk! He was perplexed that I didn't want to do an exchange and that I didn't like the product I had bought. I had a problem with my receipt and he acted like it ruined his entire day that he had to look up my receipt (from a few days ago) by my phone number. He slammed down the scanner and kept huffing, angrily typing- it honestly scared me! When he couldn't find my receipt, I decided to just leave and I'll return it at a different location. Michael needs to learn better customer service skills asap! read more

Day Camp for Dog review: I have been taking my puppy (7 months) to day camp here for a few months. My dog loves it! First few weeks going it was great until I dropped him off one day and let them know he suddenly had these bumps in his mouth and the manager- Candy dismissed me immediately from camp. Shamed me and told me to get my dog checked and he can't come back until clear. Her approach was little to be desired. Went to vet- turns out he had canine papalloma virus- common in puppies and unclean common play areas. Fast forward 8 weeks- my dog was able to return. He was only going 2 days a week at this point. Prior to first "dismissal" he was going 5 days a week while I was working and going back and forth from hospital caring for immediate family member. Day camp was a help with a brand new puppy. Today- I drop him off and upon checkin I was told by the girl that they have so many dogs today and it's going to be crazy. I should have guessed then it wasn't going to be a great day but my dog loves it so he went. I get a call from manager Candy telling me my dog caused an incident and pounced on another dog and nipped his ear. I get it. My dog is a puppy. He plays hard but always playful. The approach was again little to be desired from Candy. Condescending and dismissive demanding I pay vet bills and banning my dog from group play. Thank goodness she deals with animals and not people. I commend the vet team for helping me today. Candy needs coaching and is so negative. My dog is a puppy. It's no excuse for a nip to another dog. Thank goodness they are both ok. Camp should have more than one person watching 15 dogs. Shame on Candy for her tone, behavior and treatment of the situation. It could have been handled so much better and with a little more compassion and understanding. read more

I just had a grooming appointment for my German Shepherd at Petsmart in Oswego. Absolutely NO ONE is able to trim my dogs nails. I have taken her to so many places and also had a lady come to my home few times. Her nails are never done. My dog had an appointment with Mikayla and when I picked her up she was not the normal terrified after her appointments. She was so happy yesterday and Mikayla did an amazing job and she smells amazing. And her nails were actually trimmed. She said she did great on her nail trim too and was a great dog. I had to share this on here because I have never had a good experience until yesterday. I finally found my dog groomer!!! So if anyone is looking for a groomer definitely check out Petsmart in Oswego with Mikayla. read more

I've been growing my dogs fur out and brushing it every day. He's a bichon frise and I want him to have that puffy rounded head. I told the groomer this and she literally cut almost all the fur off his head making him look like a little rat. Really disappointed, never going back. Went to get crickets like I do every week and every single time I go the service just gets worse and worse it's like they have no one working there. I was waiting for seven minutes before anyone help me after I push the button by the reptiles and then someone else approached also waiting for crickets and when someone came up instead of helping me first, as I was waiting longer, he ignored me and helped the other customer first, then they proceeded to ask for thirty crickets when I only needed five yet he still ignored me so I just left. will not be going back any longer, or worth driving five minutes further to Petco since I will make up for my wait time at Petsmart anyway read more

Took my dog after they had initially reschedule my appointment from last week. They person in front was not friendly at all. We waited until another girl came to check my dog in. I received a call about 40 mins later that my dog was being aggressive and they could get him out the kennel. I found this surprising as I have never had a complaint from previous groomers. I picked up my dog and he was acting aggressive AT ALL. I have a husky, and like I mentioned he has never showed aggressive behavior. Another grooming salon was able to take him luckily the same day and they had no issues, they even complimented him. Safe to say I would never take him back again!! read more

The worst pet smart location I have ever been to by a long shot. There is zero customer service in the front whatsoever. I've had probably one good experience from the cashiers here, and I come several times a month for my pets. However, thats not why I'm writing this review. I'm writing this because, I got my fish here sick and she ended up passing away. I came in today for dog treats but ended up looking at all the sick fish that were laying on the bottoms of their cups. I then pointed out that one was literally dead to which one of the pet care girls replied "oh I just checked those". Did you?? Cause that fish was long gone. I then asked if they had a warranty for dead fish, because my fish died and when I got her she was sick; and included the fact that all of these other fish I was looking at had the same illness. She then responded "if you want a quality betta you would need to get it online". Then I go to cashier (who was dumber than a box of rocks) and asked if she could look up my purchase for when I got my fish. She ended up printing out a receipt and sent me back to the pet care girl who told me to buy a "quality Betta online", to which this girl with my receipt in hand said she can't refund me unless there's a body. Wtf? You want me to bring my dead pet in to show you that it died ? I wonder how many little kids have bought fish here that have ended up sick/dying and couldn't have them replaced because they didn't "provide a body". Not to mention all the girls I interacted with were literally horrible. Not an "oh sorry that happened" nothing. I wouldn't come back here after learning that a majority of the fish they sell are sick and dying/get thrown into the dumpster (including ones that are still alive) but I especially wouldn't come back after this experience ever again. read more

Our puppy Balto has been coming here since she was just 11 weeks old! The entire staff, including the Pets Hotel knows when she's in the building and greets her as if she was their own. Jade has always been such a great help and an excellent trainer! Balto has been comfortable coming here from the start and loves her trips here. It'll be sad for us to say goodbye as we are relocating, however we highly recommend this location and it's Pets Hotel and day camp! read more

The lady didn't know what she was doing at the register, I was doing a exchange of a litter box for other things I needed for my cat. Keep in mind I used Afterpay for the litterbox that I was exchanging. So apparently instead of the girl exchanging the litterbox for the stuff I had in my hand she did a refund to my card and tried to make me pay for the stuff I had in hand when I literally said I wanted to exchange!!! Keep in mind the litterbox was paid for with an Afterpay card that approves you for a purchase you split into 4 payments, not my actual debit card! So she did the return on my debit card in which now Afterpay is still going to charge me for a litterbox I tried to exchange in store, I clearly said to the girl that I used Afterpay and I want to make an exchange, but she still went on and did what she wanted to. So I dropped everything in the store and just said forget it. She literally messed everything up. IF YOURE GOING TO PROMOTE AFTERPAY IN YOUR STORE, EDUCATE YOUR WORKERS ON IT !!! I come to this Petsmart location since it is super close to my house and I get the prescription dog food that I need. The staff are pretty friendly there and answer any questions I have. Makayla (pretty sure I spelled her name wrong) is super nice and smiles at me when I come in. My only issue is that when there are a lot of people waiting to check out, there is only 1 person on the register and nobody else bothers to come help. It's really frustrating and takes forever. i work in the healthcare industry and work 10-12 hour days most days of the week, and i bring my dog here at least 4 days a week for their doggie day camp. a bit pricey, especially for the space the dogs have to play; but worth it to have a tired, happy pup at the end of each day. The staff is great, Taryn, the manager of the Petshotel, is friendly, professional, and sweet. Pat, Courtney, Emily, Liz; i cannot say anything but amazing things about them. My pup greets everyone there with the amount of excitement he greets me with. Nothing beats knowing you are leaving your pets in capable, and trusting hands. We had some bad experiences with groomers in the past. Snowball who will be 2yrs on July 8th, has been clipper burned in her short life. Having Lydia as her groomer has regained my trust. I can't say enough about Lydia and the other staff in the Grooming Center. read more

This location has a wonderful caring staff for both doggie day camp and the hotel. We recently boarded our dog for an overnight stay and he was very anxious due to the change of environment. While he goes to the doggie day camp quite frequently, the boarding was a new experience for him snd the staff kept me informed on how he was doing the next day including his feeding, potty times and play time with the dogs in camp. I feel very secure that he is getting the very best care there by all the staff at all times. A special shout out to Amy who could tell I was an extremely nervous "parent" and couldn't have been more helpful. read more

I have been taking my pets to Petsmart Grooming (Oswego, IL) one for the past 7 years the other for a year and a half never had it been a problem until now. The past 2 times we took our 1 year old Dog, a Linda took him and that's when the complaints came in. All the other girls loved him and never complained until Linda was servicing him. Finally this last time he was too snippy (her words) to get anything accomplished but that's also because she failed to mention she cut his nails too short and made him bleed not only from one but 3/4 paws. At this point I see why he got snippy and mad any dog would have. Safe to say they have lost a long term client. read more

Watson, while not thrilled to have a bath or a nail trim, loves the staff at the Oswego PetSmart. The bathers are careful in trimming his nails, something I won't do since his nails are black. When he comes home from the bath his coat is so soft. They do a great job for a nice price. read more

An Angry and Upset Customer, If I could, I would rate zero stars. On September 22nd, we dropped my dog, Briggs, off at the grooming salon at the PetSmart location in Oswego. I called and scheduled his appointment for 12:30 pm. I was told that it would take a few hours, and would be called on my personal phone when he was ready to be picked up. We asked for a bath, teeth brushing, nail cutting, and shed control. We paid a total of $72.00 upfront at the counter for everything. After dropping him off, we headed home and waited by the phone. I expected to receive a call in a few hours like I was told, but that never happened. Eight hours later at 7:30 in the evening, my phone rang and I picked up immediately. The lady on the other end informed me that Briggs had been ready since 4:30 pm. I was quick to tell them that I had received no call, which she countered back and told me they had called twice. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I went to check my incoming call list, to come across no calls from the grooming salon. My dog had been ready for three or more hours, Meaning, he was stashed away in a crate, alone, and anxious. Keep in mind, my dog is a rescue pet with abandonment issues. We just recently adopted him in April, and he has already grown very attached us. We have since learned that he does not like being kept in small areas for very long, hence why we do not crate our dog. We communicated that to them beforehand. He gets very panicked, starts crying, and barks until his voice is strained. He is also an adult, soon to be senior dog so this is obviously not good for his health. We rushed over to the store to pick him up, and when they brought him out on his leash, they could barely contain him once he caught sight of us. We were handed over his leash, and received no apology as they led us out the door. Seconds after stepping out of the salon, he soiled himself. He stepped in the mess and got it on his legs. He is seven years old, a potty trained dog. What was the point was of $72.00 for a bath if he was only going to soil himself out of fear and anxiety? We then informed them that he had an accident on the floor of the store. Instead of coming out to help us, the lady at the front desk sat in her chair, and simply pointed to the paper towel station, and told us to clean it up. Because we did not want the other customers browsing around to slip, or step in his mess, we grabbed as many paper towels as we could, crouched down and cleaned the floor, while trying to contain our crying dog. While trying to clean, he lunged towards the door desperately, all while choking himself in the process because of how tight he was pulling on the leash. I had never seen my dog behave this way, or appear to be this traumatized. Our usual calming methods wouldn't work on him at this point. I am appalled at the treatment my dog and the rest of my family received. My dog is part of our family, and we take his health and overall wellbeing very seriously. My dog was neglected, abused, and mistreated. I, the customer, felt very disrespected. I demand a full refund. My dog is now showing extreme signs of separation anxiety, and he panicked when we all went up to bed, which he never does. I would like an apology, a refund, and/or what I paid in store credit. Let the owners beware, if you have a rescue dog who has history of abandonment/seperation anxiety issues, do NOT take your dog to this location. They have zero empathy for the pets you put into their care, and they will carelessly traumatize your dog. - Ajua E. read more

Horrible horrible horrible customer service. Brought my dog in for a SCHEDULED grooming appointment which consisted of simply a bath. I was told when I got there that it might be a 2-hour wait. I decided to take my chances, leave my pet and returned a little over an hour. They told me they hadn't even started on my dog and that it'd be at least another hour. I promptly asked for my dog back and they explained that they have to take the walk-in nail trimmings that come in....so why do you make people make appointments then? At that point, GOOD customer service would have been to apologize, start my dog immediately and make a walk-in customer wait. My time was totally wasted on a day I didn't have it to waste -- not to mention my dog not getting what he needed. Will not be returning. Get your act together! read more

My poor dog was terrified of going to the groomer after some bad experiences. Linda at the oswego petsmart grooming salon did such a wonderful job. Not only did she comfort my dog, she actually introduced herself, consulted what would be best for my dog and finished the job much faster than other groomers. I am so grateful I took her to Linda. My dog wasn't shaking or scared when I picked her up (which is how she usually is). We will be returning to Linda in the future. My dog looked so adorable with her new cut! I been having issues when picking up my dog from daycare at any Petsmart facilities.I normally pay with a credit card with a chip in it.It keeps declining due to their machines not taking it,a manager has to manually have to put it in.Petsmart needs to update these cc machines. Frustrated! read more
