I really tried to give this place a good review but after the grooming service took over six hours and the girl at the grooming desk gave me the wors attitude for not knowing where to check in saying " well if you don't come in the gate how am I supposed to know you are here to check in" - Ma'am this is my first time here and you are in the back room hiding on your phone. I'm sorry I interrupted your TikTok time, but if you were up front, you would have noticed us standing for 15min before I had to ask for help. I had a grooming appointment last week, and after my experience, I would NOT recommend the Lincoln Pet Supplies Plus for grooming to anyone. When I scheduled my appointment on the app, it showed that the price of this grooming would be $44. I called to confirm my appointment as well and spoke to a person from the Lincoln location. When I get there for the grooming appointment, they told me that the price is not reflected correctly online and that it is $59 instead of $44. Because of how much of a jump 44 to 59 is, I asked if the original price could be honored given that I was not made aware of this, EVEN WHEN I CALLED. The woman let me know that I could get 15% off my grooming. I agreed and then the concerns kept coming. The woman who was grooming when we arrived was being very stern with the dog she was with, telling the dog that it was fine when he would pull his paw back or would pull harshly on the leash the dog had on when the dog would try to move on the table. It made me think that if they are comfortable speaking and moving the dogs like this in front of customers, what are they doing when they bring them to the crates or bring them to the back? It is a safety issue and I would not trust either woman that was there with my dog. My dog can be reactive with some dogs, and be okay with others. This was very well known to the other grooming place I've gone to (Pet Supplies Plus on Dempster -- LOVE them and Jake is amazing with our dog) and she always came out with great notes from the groomer on Dempster. When the groomer called to tell me she was done, she let me know that blow drying was hard and that she was being reactive to other dogs. I know my dog is strong and that she can be reactive to some dogs, however the way that they were treating the other dogs and the tone of voice and language they were using was not acceptable. It got to the point where when I got there to pick up my dog, the groomer said "No!"to her when she began to bark. The groomer, Vanessa, let me know at pick up that they do not take reactive dogs because of liability. She explained that if it was a little bit of barking, it would be okay but because my dog was barking and lunging, she had to put a note on her account. Once again, I know my dog and that is why I also prefaced this reactivity prior to dropping her off, however my point still stands about the treatment towards the dogs in general. It is difficult to trust that this groomer tried her to best to handle my dog appropriately given that they were handling other non-reactive dogs inappropriately. Going to stick to Jake at Pet Supplies Plus on Dempster!! But this had to be noted. read more

We've been shopping mostly at Pet Supplies Plus (on Lincoln Ave in Chicago) for our pup the past few years. We switched from Kriser's because they were always out of his Stella & Chewy food. We are done with Pet Supplies Plus and won't shop there again. Their Rewards program and website are a mess to deal with. Here are some of the issues just the past few months: - purchase in April not being logged in their system for their Rewards nor for the Stella & Chewy Buy 12, Get 1 program. (no one in the store has a clue what I should do about this.) - Rewards barcodes only working in store half the time. - Rewards codes have never once worked on website purchases to buy online and pickup in store. We mostly bought from Chewy with our previous pup but we have been trying to buy local the past few years. I'm switching back to Chewy. Their customer service is top notch. read more

This is for groomer Vanessa DeJesus. When I checked it, she sounded pretty rude but I let it slide. My poodle yorkie dog had to get nail trim and grind only because he had a cut on the eye so no bath which is fine. She was hesitant to take him and even says she has another appointment so kinda like rushing me. But she did and didn't seem too happy. After she was done, I checked the nails and asked if they can be shorter since he had them shorter before. Then she got all mad with an attitude saying that's the shortest it can go and he was trying to bite her which wasn't the case because I was there the whole time and my dog was scared and instead of calming him she was pretty rough on him and he was just pulling away most of the time. She obviously not a dog lover. I told her she needed to tone down and she got even angrier and walked away. Definitely do not pick her as a groomer. read more

Terrible customer service at this store. They called me month after month with my autoship orders that they were unable to fulfill due to lack of inventory, despite having the orders well in advanced. I then cancelled the autoship service because of their inability to consistently deliver my order. Despite this, they sent me another shipment the next month which I did not need and they refused to refund the order. The employee on the phone was rude and could not even acknowledge that his store was providing bad service. read more

This use to be my "go to" place for raw food and treats for my pup-we try to support our local businesses. It's conveniently located and my dog enjoys visiting. Unfortunately, over the past year or two they have raised the price of primal freeze dried so much, I might as well order from Chewy. They have the absolute worst curbside pickup of any store I've ever used. It's never actually worked once as it's supposed to--a 0% success rate. Most of the time I end up going in the store and waiting up front for an employee to hand me my bag of dog food and I carry it out myself. Sometimes no one answers my call at all when I call to say that I am there and I walk in and all the employees are in a huddle just hanging out--which defeats the purpose. I experienced great customer service at Pet Supply Plus (Lincoln location). The store didn't have the item in stock that I ordered, so an associate called me and asked if I want the same dog treat but bigger bag at no cost to me. In addition, I received a free dog food sample. It made me so happy and of course my dog. I am very satisfied with the staff, everyone is polite, friendly and helpful! The store is always full of great food and toy selections. I also recommend to use VIP Pet Care (moving veterinary clinic) at this location. The price is affordable and it is so convenient. The grooming services are great, our dog smells so good after bath and his fur is so silky. We washed our dog at home with the same shampoo but it was not nearly as good. This is for the fab grooming job our senior rescue dog Herbie got at Pet Supplies Plus on Lincoln (next to Trader Joes) today. Grooming area looks clean Groomer polite, nice guy, seemed to know his stuff competitive price very beautiful grooming/cut on our senior Maltese dog - see photo! obviously a lot of time and care to get out all his matted hair spots Groomer explained he mostly combed out the matts very carefully Groomer showed us a brush and a comb we should buy for maintenance (we asked) Our dog seemed happy when we picked him up Just allow a lot of time, since our guy did a very thorough job. He had said 2 hrs but it was really 2 hrs 40 min, and he seemed to be the only dog there. (2pm appt Wed) They call you when done. BTW, this dog is our third rescue dog so we have quite the pack now (plus 4 cats). We adopted him from FCACC - Friends of Animal Care and Control. We have had him for 10 days now and he's wonderful. FCACC had a benefit to feature their senior dogs up for adoption where we met and fell in love with Herbie! read more

It would never have crossed my mind to do it, but slotting Pet Supplies Plus into the old CB2 space could not have been more genius Actually, it could have - they could have magically doubled the parking lot too, but I guess that's me being greedy. I was slow to warm up to PSP, but over time have become a big fan of the chain. Prices are good, usually better than Petco and the staff is always helpful and friendly. What I like most about this particular store is the selection. I'm not sure if the plan is to upgrade all PSP stores, but this one seems to carry a lot more higher quality and boutique-type brands (grain free, atypical proteins, etc.) than its siblings. It's also the first I've seen with in-house grooming services and a DIY bathing area ($8/dog). My only complaint is minor; during one visit I learned that you can't get two carts down at least one of the aisles. Hopefully, this is not the case with the other aisles because that could create real bottlenecks. The addition of Pet Supplies Plus has turned this strip mall from one I tried to avoid, to a destination. Being able to stock up on food for myself and my four-legged hooligans in one shot is a worthwhile tradeoff for any parking headaches I'm likely to encounter. I brought my dog in for her first grooming and will definitely be coming back. Emily is incredibly patient, understanding, and did a great job. My doodle can be very anxious at grooming and she was very matted when I brought her in. Emily was able to save as much length as possible and really took her time to get the best job done. You can tell how much she genuinely loves dogs and her job, and that's really all we can ask for in a groomer. read more

I stopped by today because I wanted to pick up some things for my cat and to make sure he had they healthiest food but wasn't overly expensive. A man named Ian helped me and he seemed highly knowledagable about the store's product line and about cats in general and very pleasant and patient with all my questions. It can sometimes be frustrating going into any sort of retail environment and the employees know very little about the products the care and don't seem interested either.
