The grooming salon is disconnected with their customers. They have no problems speaking to you in front of others with any concerns they might have instead of speaking to you privately. when you speak to them about it, they seem to not care and are very much unapologetic for what they've said, and how they've said it. I spoke to the salon manager about the groomer and the problem I had as well as I spoke to the assistant store manager about the same problem. all they seem to do is look in your history and whatever problems they've had with you that's all they address and pretty much back each other up. They've made me feel uncomfortable, leaving my fur baby with them. read more

Good customer service. Used them many times over the years with several different dogs. Our dogs were always ready when promised. Last summer I got a new husky puppy. Brought him in regularly for nail trims and did several puppy bath packages. Lots of patience seen with my high energy puppy. I always leave his treats for them to give him due to food allergy and I want groomers and staff to be able to give him as well as praise him while he is there. Positive puppy experiences; goes along way in making future visits as an adult and senior good for both people and the pet. About time now for him to go for a big boy bath/grooming visit. read more

Grooming Review: we've been to PetSmart for grooming services in our home state and have been happy with their service, however, this location lacks the skill needed to handle pets. We've never been asked to pick up our dog before his completed service. They blamed our pet for being "difficult" when our normal groomer in AZ always seems to have had NO trouble at all. After having to drop off and pickup a second time, we noticed long strands of hair that should have been cut and his nails were not trimmed. And then to add insult to injury, the groomer proceeded to treat us as if our dog was vicious and gave us unsolicited advice on how to "handle" him as if she had this skill set. Here's my unsolicited advice: go across the street to the arboretum. The groomer in that small pet store will get you squared away without making you feel as if your pooch is a livid monster. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! My poor dog (a yorkshire terrier) had his front pad on his paw cut and it bled. The groomer he had was a total witch. She wrote up a really mean report card on my dog. I had been taking my dog here to this Petsmart for about 3 years and NEVER had I received any negative remarks like this woman wrote. Yes my dog is skiddish and nervous about grooming. But he is a good boy and all other groomers there never had any issue with him. I was SO irate I called the manager and she refunded my money. I went back and requested Angela (who is a very nice and well trained groomer) at this Petsmart but my dog was never thrilled with going there so I switched to another grooming salon entirely. Was seriously disappointed and upset at this woman's RUDE uncalled for remarks about my dog and very mad she cut my dogs foot pad. Now he is nervous about anyone touching his paws. For the last 5 yrs. I having been having our dog,Joey, groomed at PetSmart on Sutton Rd.. it's always a great experience! Yenni is the person we use! Joey is a multi-poo therefore it has to be someone with great experience to make the cut look fabulous! I am happy every time she grooms him and I always get a lot of compliments on how cute he looks! The best part, he doesn't freak out when he goes there! Last month they had a drawing through the grooming department, and WE WON! I was in awe when we picked it up. It consisted of a doggie toy basket, 2 different variety treats, comb,brush, dog wipes, stuffed animal and a Chi variety pack of grooming essentials. This basket far exceeds what most stores would give out! All the girls are friendly, they call you with a reminder about your appointment and call about 15 min. before your dog is ready to be picked up. I've been coming to this place for my dog and cat needs. In general, I prefer to buy my pets essentials like food and kitty litter else place like Target where they are slightly cheaper. But when I need to get specialized items like dog bed, clothing, one of a kind dog/cat leashes, collars and chew toys, I don't mind spending a little more money as this place offers a wide array of pet needs. This place is so huge, that they always seem to be stocked with everything. When I first bought my puppy, this place had everything under one roof, specially that colapseable doggie cage that I loved to take on the go. For special occasions like your pet's birthday, they have a section for doggie/cat treats and gourmet treats. I also love to come here for Halloween and Christmas where they stock up on Holiday themed clothes, toys and treats. For Halloween, I bought my puppy a skeleton and Dracula outfit and a Santa outfits for both the cat and dog for Christmas. Make sure you sign up for their rewards Cards; its completely free and you can get discounts on many of their items. I ended up coming here on accident, i usually go to a different PetSmart for my grooming needs. I ended up coming to see a bald spot on the leg of my yorkie, i wasn't very happy about it. But the only reason this place is getting 4 stars is because of the manager Kristen, she solved my problem immediately. In April I took my dog to get groomed here. When I picked him up he was cut MUCH shorter that usual (not ideal but was okay), but on top of that he had numerous cuts all over him from being cut too short! The groomer was clearly reckless with him and I can't imagine his little cries while he was getting cut up. (It looked like when you scrape your knee - not dripping blood but red and wet and clearly painful for my little pup.) I took him to my vet to get him looked at and told PetSmart what happened. They were very apologetic and told me they would cover the vet visit cost for his steroid cream cost. (Also, side note, vet was disgusted with how careless they were with him. She said it looked really bad and especially how many places he had been cut.) I took my vet receipt to PetSmart, as they told me to do, and it has now been 3.5 months AND NOTHING has come of it. When they're not ignoring me, they're telling me to call someone else at PetSmart (I'm just going in circles at this point) and blatantly going against what they said they would do. I'm astonished at how poorly they treated my dog and then tried to cover their own butt by making it better (which I appreciated) but clearly weren't planning on following through with it. Awful. So I've bought fish tanks and fish here before this time I was looking for a 1 gal for my beta an upgrade. purchased a top fin liquidity split green it had a large crack in it when I got it. Get this it was still sealed in the box we returned it and got a new one. The cashier let us check this one she said nobody has had problems with these kind of tanks. Also I went their and saw dead betas in cups they don't take care of them. I also got a air pump , airline, tubing, check valve & mini air stone for $20 at a store in Urbana-Champaign on Prospect Avenue good deal. Also a great cichlid selection. when I went the tank I now have was on sale for $20 so instead of getting it for $25 I got it for $20. When we put my fish in the tank he loved it and he still does a lot of space if you do not stuff a lot of stuff like plants & decor it is perfect for 1 or 2 betas with the split so they don't kill each other. Some people say the feeding door is too small but for me it is perfect and the filter is not noisy very quiet. You need at least 1 gal for a beta to live. I saw people buying 0.5 and 0.25 tanks for $5 that's like the cup you're beta comes in. Look I have 1 beta and a gallon tank and it is perfect. In the tank I have 1 fake plant and 3 mini ornaments plus the filter ps I recommend replacing the filter every 2-4 month you can buy 2 replacement carts for $5 and 4 for $12 . I also have a beta hammock in mine. My tank glows in the dark but that feature doesn't work very well. I also used the engraver to get a tag for my puppy's new collar which I also bought their. At the reptile Section their was spiders and scorpions eww! The staff is also very helpful and kind they helped us choose an air pump for the tank to oxygenate it and entertain the fish with bubbles. I originally had an old water pump that I got for free with a flow adjustment control it was a mini jet mn 404 submersible pump.I got a top fin pump for 5 gal or less tanks for about 10 bucks $20 including accessories. This location always has great customer service. The staff are always very nice, professional, and ready to help. I have seen some rude customers who are probably the ones that leave bad reviews, but they are probably just impatient and want everything handed to them. The grooming at this location seems to be the best of the three that we have tried as far as a quality and speed go. Customer service in the grooming area is Christine HHS's done a great job with our dog. My problem with this location is the training is done in the isles during peak hour, so you can often go with your well behaved dog. I spoke to the manager Emily about an aggressive dog who lunges at my wife and my dog and she said the dog wasn't it aggressive it only sounded and looked aggressive... really? We had to leave because I didn't want the dog to keep provoking my dog or to eventually cause a problem. The dog in training wouldn't stop growling or barking in an aggressive manner. when this happened the trainer would have the dog sit and reward the dog with a treat and or praise it for a sitting ..... so every time it became aggressive it received a treat. I will have to take my dog to another store unless it's for grooming for now on. The manager had very little to say besides sorry we had to leave and that the dog was not aggressive it just sounded and looked that way and that the dog was sweet. I love pits i have a put mix and that was an aggressive one that shouldn't have been in the store is all. read more

I came to this location during their sale to purchase food and bedding for my little rat. I usually go to the Algonquin location, but was closer to this one at the time. Even though I found what I needed, many of the shelves were picked over and it looked like the store was closing. As for the customer service, I think there was 2 people manning the entire store and both were standing at the registers. read more

Came here to get some fish for my aquarium. Clark was super nice and helpful while I was trying to decide what to get. His supervisor on the other hand was being quite rude the entire time. I was taking my poodle/terrier mix in for an overdue grooming. He's a rescue and still terrified of strangers, though I've had him for a few years now. We were about 10 feet from the door and a young man named Collin came out and noticed I was having some difficulty getting the dog inside. He asked if the dog was getting spooked and I said yes. At that moment, the dog pulled HARD of his leash and managed to pop out of the collar. He took off like a rocket and Collin took off after him in hot pursuit. A person entering the parking area off 72, saw my dog and stopped and blocked him from 72. Another kind lady stopped to the North side of the building and blocked him there. There is a retention pond in that area, and the dog being that frightened, jumped into that pond. (So happy he can swim, since he'd never done it before!) Anyway, Collin stripped off his shoes, socks and shirt, emptied his pockets and in he went! When he caught him, he handed the dog up to me and the lady had run to her car and gotten 2 towels to help out. Collin got one and the dog got the other. Talk about going above and beyond - this caring young man saved my dog and asked nothing, though I wanted to do something for him. He'd gone by the time I picked up my pup from the grooming, but I left him a card and some cash, though I wish it could have been more. Thank you, Collin, for being a true hero! read more

I bought dog food here yesterday and when I opened the bag it was full of larvae. I went to return it and get another bag but there were multiple bags with evidence of larvae on the outside. I told a sales associate and she did not seem surprised. I will have to start buying dog food elsewhere. read more
