I called PetCheck to get the cost of my dogs upcoming immunization shot. Each time that I called I would ask to give my number so that they could pull my acct a give me the cost for the service. Yet each time I'd call an ask to give my number they would instead put me on hold a not come back to the phone. After my THIRD call they again put me on hold but this time they came back to the call. I explained that if like to know the cost of the particular shot and I was told $60 plus $25 for the office visit. Confused I asked why $25, I was advised that the office went up to $15 from $9 not $25. The rep instead of addressing my concern found it more important to repeatedly state that I had the first round of the shot done at another location. I said okay but why is there a $25 office visit if I'm just coming to get shots but she kept right on telling me that it wasn't their office who did the first shot. I paused out of frustration be to me as a customer, I really don't care who gave the last shot, its a chain and I'm closest to THEIR clinic. The rep still wouldn't answer my question as to why theres a $25 office visit so I asked to speak to the office manager because she wasn't addressing or answering my question. This is when she GROWLED at me on the phone! Yes a humsn being growling on the phone is diabolical but she growled "I AM THE OFFICE MANAGER!!!!!!" I replied, "If you're the office manager, why can't you tell me why there's a $25 office visit?". Suddenly there were TWO people on the phone over talking and causing me to not be able to hear anything. Finally, there was one voice which was calmer. She stated, "If I'm only coming in for shots, then it would be $60, and if I wanted an exam it would be an additional $25". I stated that I never asked for an exam and that I wanted to know why the previous lady kept attaching the additional $25. Frustwrated she stated "Look if you want shots only it's just $60, you don't have to pay the $25!!". I asked what her position was because I knew I'd be filing a complaint for the up-charging attempt an disrespect. She stated that she's "Just the receptionist." I stated okay and disconnected the call on my end. I wouldn't dare trust this clinic with my money OR my service dog and you shouldn't either. The entire call was recorded on my dash cam which I planned to upload to all of my social media sites so that social media can do what they do best. I will also be filing a complaint with Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as well as Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). It's unethical to trick clients into spending more and lying about the cost of services especially being the office manager. This mgr lacks self control displayed by her growling at me. I've brought several fosters here and have never received the treatment I did today! Whoever the darker skinned employee is that was here on 5/28 in the afternoon should not be interacting with people. Better yet she shouldn't be working there, she needs to learn basic human interaction. Their hours clearly state they close at 6pm, we walked in at 4:50 and were instantly met by this employee. She was waving her hand towards the door signaling us to get out as she said, "Oh no we're closed we're closed! What do yall need preventative? Oh it's puppies no we're closed! We just took our last two back!" She didn't even give us a chance to speak or say what we needed. If it wasn't because this is where the rescue I foster for sends their babies I would NEVER return here! read more

If I could give this clinic zero stars, I would. I have been bringing my pets to Petcheck since 2016 for affordable vaccines. The staff and doctor have always been pleasant. While I did save money over the years, just remember that ultimately you get what you pay for. At my last visit, I requested a heart worm test, fecal test, and three vaccines. Instead of the requested vaccines, they gave my 14 lb dog six vaccines. The vet never confirmed which vaccines he was giving my dog. He came into the exam room and spent less than ten minutes with us, just enough time to give the vaccines and complete the tests. Six hours later, I was on my way to the emergency vet because she had an allergic reaction. The emergency vet said that my dog should have never received that many vaccines due to her size and weight. It took about 24 hours for the swelling and itching to subside. The clinic has not assumed any responsibility and simply said "the extra vaccines will not hurt her" and "dogs sometimes have reactions." I will never return. read more

I just took my 18 year old dog to this vet office and saw Dr. Perikala. Dr. Perikala and his staff are a 10!!! I could not have been more pleased and happy with his service and diagnosis for my dog, who is suffering from cataracts and almost totally blind. One of his eyes became severely inflamed and we were so afraid that possibly the cataract had flipped or possibly the cornea had become detached. We were recommended to Pet Check and we wanted to go somewhere very close, since obviously our old boy was in discomfort. Within 5 minutes Dr. Perikala had looked at his eye and immediately put us at ease, stating he had conjunctivitis (caused from some type of eye trauma) and the cornea looked good. He gave us eye ointment and told us it should clear up in a few days and to not hesitate reaching back out if we needed anything else. He was very understanding that our fella was very, very old and we did not want to put him under any type of stress, etc. or extensive testing, etc. Fortunately, for an 18 year old he is still getting around fairly well. We left there feeling a great amount of relief and we are back home with our old boy and he is resting very comfortably. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Perikala and his team. I will paste my google review on here: Train your staff better to stop wasting people's time. My dog needed trifexis, I went to my vet and had the prescription. Then I called Pet Check, on the phone they told me to bring proof of the heartworm exam along with the prescription. I take time out of my work day to drive down there, and when I get there they tell me if my dog hasn't had a visit at their clinic in 12 months they will not sell my the prescription. I asked them why they told me to bring the exam and prescription?? Blank stares. Incompetent staff sitting around doing nothing when I walked in. This is exactly how you lose customers. The prices are great. My dog had heart worms and mange and I was able to get her seen, tested, get flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, shampoo and medication all for under $400. That is IMPOSSIBLE to get anywhere else. Only reason why I wouldn't give it a 5 star is because the place is a little dirty. This is a great place to go to if you just need shots for your dogs however, not the best place to go if you actually need a vet that knows what he is doing... After walking in I told the vet tech that I think my vet has mange and she went out back to speak to the vet and came back with some medication without even looking at my cat. I obviously have no idea if it's mange or something else, which is why I said " I THINK." We got escorted back right away and the vet did a skin scrape after checking under the microscope he said it was mange and gave him a shot. I was told to come back 2 more times 2 weeks apart for the follow up shots. A few days later I went to another vet for his kitten shots. That vet was surprised that it was mange since he wasn't missing any hair upon further investigation it was actually fungus! By this time the fungus had inflected my boyfriend and I horribly! If only the first doctor would of done his job correctly my kitten would of been treated sooner and we wouldn't have fungus growing all over our bodies! It seems like he might have misdiagnosed my cat so that we would come back two more times and waste our money!! read more

I saw this place online, and since I'm all about saving money, I decided to try it out. I got there shortly after they opened in the morning and it was packed. Like every chair was taken by someone holding a leash. It was super hot inside but he staff was very friendly. In total I think I spent about an hour, maybe an hour and a half there. That included signing in, waiting, seeing the vet, and paying. The vet is super nice and has a casual, comfortable attitude. I like him. My pup was comfortable with him too. He answered whatever questions I had easily and with no attitude or using language that was unfamiliar to me. The price is right too! With my office visit, and new puppy shots, I paid a whopping $34. And I got sent home with the other half of her deworming medicine. Can't beat that! I will definitely be back. Tip: as I was leaving, close to 1pm, there was virtually no one in there. Sammy has found a new doctor because I don't believe in paying outrageous prices for someone to tell me my dog is healthy and needs his shots. I walked out paying only $150. Let me break that down for you. $25 - Distemper, Parvo, and Rabies Shot $0 - Exam (Free if you get vaccination package) $95 - Trifexis $0 - Heartworm test (Free if you buy heartworm prevention) $25ish - Oil pills (cause my doggy has dry skin) I can assure you going to a regular vet you'll be charged more or even double sometimes. The veterinarian was very quick, professional, and showed care when taking Sammy. Chris, his assistant, is also gentle and made me feel at ease when holding Sammy for his shots. The interior is clean, and simple. No frills, so you don't have to pay crazy expenses. I was very happy taking my dogs to PetCheck. I have two Great Danes, so everything, from food to vet care, is expensive for them. The facility is a new location and isn't fancy, but that's what I liked about it. It was just one big room with a couple of partitions separating the exam area from the testing area and the front desk. I liked that because my dogs need a lot of space and we didn't feel cramped. The vet was so nice! He spent time talking with me about my dogs' health needs and didn't rush me. He also did all the blood testing and shots in front of me, and I appreciate that. I don't like it when the tech takes the pet in the back and I can't see what they're doing to my animal and I can't be with them. Their prices are also very reasonable, and my dogs seemed comfortable (as comfortable as dogs can be with rough sticks up their behinds LOL).
