I would take here to have nails trimmed without calling because they never answer the phone and they never return a call. Last time I showed up there was a new heavy set young lady with different bright colors in her hair. She looked me straight in the eye and turned her back to me and after standing and waiting for 10 to 15 minutes, I went to someone that looked like a manager another young lady with short dark hair that didn't seem to care about my complaint or concern. Went in 20 minutes before closing to get a few fish. The girl that helped us clearly hated her job and did not want us to be there so close to closing time. We were not being super picky with the fish we wanted just chose color not specific fish and the whole interaction took no more then a few minutes. Bought a dog bed there and didn't receive a receipt. 30minutes later went to return it with the same cashier and said we couldn't return it without the receipt, knowing we had just been there. She told us very rudely to come up to the counter when we were just waiting in line patiently for her out of respect. I've visited this store many times. The store was always clean. The people that work there have always been knowledgeable and nice. However... this visit was a bit different. They have remodeled the store and it looks and feels awful. Everything is in total disarray and messy. It looks a lot darker and it looked totally dirty. Beginning of summer bought Frontline Plus for my cats and spent close to $100.00. Have used it three times on a monthly basis per package directions and it has done NOTHING. Filthy store - non ADA compliant Hubby and I went to Petco in Auburn yesterday to purchase all items for our new puppy...we were so disappointed in the filth of the store. This Petco sold my teen daughter 2 fancy gold fish not giving her the correct information on how to care for them. Super frustrating as these particular fish could not survive in the bowl she had. (I was told by PetSmart they needed a full on 30 gallon tank with proper filtration.) I didn't want to see them suffer so I tried taking them back to get her a refund, with the intention of getting a beta fish for her bowl. The clerk pulled up the receipt from my petco rewards. Then the manager Ryan came over to tell me they couldn't refund the money unless I had the paper receipt because they cant be sure I bought the fish from them without the paper receipt ‍ lol even though they had it right there on their computer. ‍ However, he said I could surrender the fish to them, and they would "re home" them. I took my dogs to Petco for grooming for the first time today after Jocelyn's Foothills grooming refused to do business with me when I missed an appointment due to medical emergency after being a customer for 8 years. I really thought I couldn't be happy with a different person grooming my dogs. I was wrong. Rochelle at Petco understood my concerns and She cared about how I wanted my babies treated. My pom is very outgoing and adventurous but my chihuahua is a nervous nelly. We consulted throughly about the services provided and the grooming details that are important to me. She even called me during their grooming to ask if I wanted my poms tail thinned or not. When I arrived for pick up I saw my Pomeranian on Rochelle's grooming table as she meticulously trimmed his hind quarters. He was very happy and comfortable in the environment. My dogs are now beautifully groomed, they smell sweet and their coats are silky soft. The pom cut is perfection. Do NOT buy fish from here. I brought home a new gold fish, was so excited. I came back from vacation and my entire tank was infected. Tail rotting and hemorrhaging. I had noticed the fish was lethargic when I purchased him, I was told that was completely normal. Now a tank I have had for ten years is gone in an entire evening and all I could do was watch them slowly and painfully disintegrate because it was far to severe for meds. Looking at other comments I see that other people have noticed the same thing. I spoke to management and was offered no condolences, no help, just being interrupted and told over and over "we check our tanks every day." Mind you I was very calm and tried my best to be kind, which is pretty hard after sobbing your heart out all night after loosing childhood pets because someone definitely did NOT check the tanks. Please please please read up on fish behavior, goldfish do not lag on the ground. It means they are highly stressed because of illness or trauma. I'm so sad for that little bud I tried to give a new home to. Do NOT go here, please. If I could do negative stars I would. I went in today to get a couple fish to add to my already established tank. I knew the exact fish I wanted and a young man came over to help, and he didn't even know how to bag fish (and bagged them without any air) so another woman came over. Her name was Jen. Jen then argued with my friend who wanted a single goldfish, saying that her 10 Gal. Tank was to small for ONE 1in gold fish. (Yes she knows goldfish grow and was already planning on upgrading tanks) then told us that it was a sick fish and could not be sold anyway, even after the first employee had already bagged it with intent to sell. The lack of knowledge regarding the health of the fish was shocking, and their quarantine status should have been known store-wide. I then went to get my two fish and she started asking me questions such what size tank I had, what kind of fish I had, and how long I have had my tank. Mind you this was not in a friendly conversation manner. It was more like an interrogation, as if she suspected us of being animal abusers. She then went on to say with "good conscience" she could not sell us ANY fish. The information regarding fish and their care coming from Jen was also extremely incorrect. She did not know what she was talking about and even contradicted herself when talking about tank size. The general rule of thumb when stocking a freshwater fish tank is one inch per gallon. I don't understand how she can refuse to sell us fish based on our tank size when the tanks at Petco are extremely overcrowded, and even had some that were clearly behaving abnormally. But those fish were somehow perfectly fine to sell. So tell me Jen, is that in good conscience working there when it is clearly overcrowded? read more

The trainer was a complete idiot, told us we were wrong, spoke down to us, would not listen, kept interrupting us. He rudely offered us a refund. Dead fish in the tanks. They put dead/dying/sick fish in as well. (I stood there looking at serval bell up fish while they waited in their bags to be released with everyone else.) And you imbeciles have a featherfin synadontis eupterus catfish labeled as an upside down Catfish. The size you idiots think this fish will grow is up to 4 inches but this fish gets to be 11 inches. Hire people who know what they are doing for god sake all of the employees neglect the fish. If they can't even do the fish right I wonder what horrible conditions their other animals are in. This store is really clean! Some pet stores seem to be littered with dirt and pee. Not this store! Right now, they have a cute little dog bandana and collar area when you first walk in. We made an appointment to have our dog groomed here today, about 2 weeks ago. He is very overdue for a groom since so many groomers are closed due to Covid. I brought him in a few minutes before our appt and as I was explaining to the groomer (Julie) that I had given him a trazadone (which is for depression and helps with his anxiety with new places/groomers) she interrupts to say "Oh, I'm sorry, we can't groom him if you have given him medication." Excuse me, what? No one mentioned that on the phone when I made the appointment, nowhere is that stated in their policies, and he wasn't sedated. I walked out to the car and my husband, who is a mental health clinician, said to go back in and explain the medication is prescribed to our dog and for depression, not a sedative. Julie got the manager, Mike, to come speak with us. Mike was immediately on the offensive and said "No way we can groom your dog if he is on any kind of prescription medication". My husband asked if he could see a written policy on that and Mike said "I don't have to show you anything, I can refuse service to anyone I want!" With that, we left, and will never be back to that or any other Petco EVER. read more
