SPRAINED MY DOGS BACK RIGHT LEG!!

On February 13,2025 I scheduled my pet Milo for a full service grooming appointment at 1:45pm for the first time since I recently moved to the area. At the 3 hour mark I had not received a call and decided to pop in just to check if he was ready. Receptionists proceeded to ask the groomer Melody if my pup was ready to which she replied with an attitude "I haven't even gotten to him yet and I haven't even called her!" The groomer that asked her came back and apologized that he wasn't ready and I understood because they looked busy. After I left the store they called me 15 minutes later saying that my dog was ready for pick up. Upon arrival Melody didn't bring out Milo another groomer did and they did it so fast I was unable to ask any questions. After pick up I noticed that my dog was limping. Throughout the night my dog was whining and crying out of pain and when I took him to his primary vet and was he told us that my dog's leg was sprained; they must've pulled him too hard or he fell. He also told us that he needed to get X-rays done to rule out a fracture. It took 2 managers and 5 days later for Petco to provide X-rays. I took him to get his x-rays and the vet did not let me tell him what happened; he replied with "we heard what happened". X-ray came back with a suspected fracture but they stated my dog was not limping since he wasn't dragging his leg!! I don't understand what kind of limping they expected!! Melody is still employed and they don't want to tell me what happened. DON'T TAKE YOUR PETS THERE! MY PUP IS TRAUMATIZED!!! I really hope they get to the bottom of this and the groomer gets fired so no other dog under her care gets injured again! HE'S ONLY 1YR OLD!! 2204 S Harlem Ave North Riverside, IL 60546

Stopped in when we seen the Adoptions today sign out since we were in the area. And know someone wanting to adopt a dog. We went through the whole store and there were no adoptions going on. The sign was out by main road and store is set way back. I don't know maybe they put it there to hopefully drive business is since it was completely dead at later afternoon on a Thursday The store was clean and well stocked but we were very disappointed in the false advertising about adoptions since i needed nothing for my pets I would have not stopped if I knew there were adoptions like they advertised. Cleanliness and staff would have gotten at least a 3 star review but having a sign out to bring in business but not honoring what you are stating brought it down to 2 stars

It was an amazing experience for my first puppy Beau and I; we had a great time learning and training with Cathy. She is truly the best trainer, very patient, loving and caring. I found her techniques very easy to follow and practice at home. I recommend this type of training for any new puppy owners. We have already signed up for puppy level 2 with trainer Cathy. :)

This is what a spoiled dog looks like thanks to Petco Bloomingdale! The store management and the grooming salon staff are great :-)

We love Petco where the Pets go! We have a indoor cat and a very spoiled shelter rescue dog that loves his visits to Petco! The store is always clean and we are always welcomed by the employees. The Mgr Jim is so nice and very helpful with any questions or advice. The grooming staff is very professional too! Amanda and Jessica in Grooming always do a great haircut :) I'm happy this is our local store. We are forever customers at Petco Bloomingdale! (On a side note... I've had a bad experience with Vetco for a rabies shot. It was our 1st and last time ever going to them. Their staff is rude and unorganized. We waited in line and filled out the paperwork. Vetco completely lost our records. Good thing I keep all my receipts! It is worth paying a few extra bucks to go to a real Veterinarian office. I wont get into too much detail as that is going to be a whole separate review on them! If you have a bad experience with Vetco don't let it effect the dedication and friendliness of this Petco store. )

We were dealing with food & high value treat /toy aggression, leash & barrier aggressions, and their coming on call (especially when chasing rabbits were more fun situations than coming to mom & dad) was unreliable at best. Enter Kendra at Canine Peace of Mind. Kendra worked with us on the best board & train program for each of them, customizing their 'stay' schedules based on progress and behavioral shifts. We sent both our dogs to CPM from Sept 2018 - Oct 2018. Kendra knows how tough it is to leave your 'kids' for that extended period of time (because she's done it too!) and made sure to send us picture and video updates on how each of them were progressing. Seeing the quick process made the distance so worth it. Fast forward to picking our pups up on handover day and the difference was remarkable. But it was on us to take those skills & discipline home with us. A couple months into having them home (Jan of this year), we recognized we still needed help (user error!) and Kendra did a house call, free of charge, to help us in reigning in & tightening up their training & our/their behaviors. What an immense help as we saw immediate change and are continuing to build that owner/dog trust together. Here's the from / to for our pups and our family: - From never being able to walk in public on a leash for fear of lashing out against another dog (even when across the street) to walking twice a day at heeling position for 2-3 miles a day, despite what we encounter. - From not having reliable recalls in the least, to trusting our dogs (and because we have grown into much more confident dog owners, trusting ourselves) to have them off leash. We love to go get the mail, take out the trash, etc. together with our dogs. - From breakfast & dinner times being HORRIBLE experiences due to fighting, low growling, & crate checking to having peaceful feeding times. - From having no control during high energy times to having a tool & command for them to go to a dedicated 'place' in any room to calm down and give each other (and us) space. I could go on. But what I would say is if you are encountering any of the above issues, please consider Canine Peace of Mind and their board & train programs. As working professionals that knew we didn't have the time or expertise to dedicate in order to get our pups where they needed to be, we are so happy we did. It has transformed the time we get to all spend together from dread to time that we look forward to because it's happy & enjoyable (which is why we all got these guys in the first place, am I right?). They also offer day care & boarding. We have taken them up on boarding a few times as we know that they get a bit more attention than any standard boarding and they are held accountable to their training just as much there as they are at home.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

She was foul as soon as I opened the door and began unloading on me. My dog is a rescue so he gets anxious and shrinks a bit when people are loud and aggressive & she scared him to death. She did not even say hello, she just began berating me from the hall. She did not return my attempt at cordial words or reconciliatory behavior. Not even a hello, no meeting the dog. She didn't even set foot inside. She caused a loud scene. She has cost the company what would have been a $160 plus travel plus tip service every 6 -8 weeks. I am out of the hospital and in need and this was unnecessary escalatory nonsense. Today, N _y- didn't even enter my unit & in under three minutes in my condo hallway, called me "Rude as f_ck!", audibly for the neighbors. A medical professional was on their way to meet me for an evaluation & before greeting me stated "What was her problem?? She almost ran me over stomping off in a huff!" Common courtesy is part of the service industry. This woman imo should not be working with vulnerable animals unsupervised in a van. She couldn't display compassion for the dog in front of their owner so I shudder to think what would happen alone with a defenseless animal in a van. Her Jerry Springer level antics were unwarranted but this nasty woman N_ y _ swore and stomped away for no valid reason. There was a technical issue. I spoke with a gentleman first thing in the morning, hours prior to the appointment to explain the issue and how to navigate to avoid any problems. It was easily navigable with minor effort. Appliance delivery, a hospital worker, grocery delivery and a physical therapist had no problem with me today. I had other appointments, but my dog was my priority. This alleged professional acted like a sitcom over the top nasty DMV worker with an irrationally irritated attitude, like my mere presence was a hassle for her. I no longer trust this company, because they did not even check on me or text to ask what occurred. That shows (imo) their endorsement of her swearing and lack of concern for customer experience or loss of customers. She refused to listen to explanation for the technical issue & raged like a wrestler on steroids. I planned to rely upon this service every 6 -7 weeks for the foreseeable future while I recover. Her unnecessary actions & dropping the F Bomb have cost them a customer, but they clearly aren't concerned, because they didn't check in or follow up, And that makes me worry for the animals in the care of people knowingly employing someone like this woman, I don't trust my dog with aggressive hot headed persons - nor should anyone imo.
