AFTER He's so unhappy. She did not have to scalp down his face too!!!
    L B.

I'm so very NOT happy with the end result of my pooch's grooming and OMG neither is he! The groomer left him with ZERO personal features despite me telling her he's a rescue from a grandmother. No empathy's was given. Petco/she was not the 1st choice but had the earliest date. I wish I'd went elsewhere. I'm perturbed I was requested to checkout prior to seeing my Oatie because I would've SKIPPED the tip!!! Body wise, ok take him down to a 7 but she went 10! Poor thing is now also scooting his butt across the rug. And licking where ever he can reach. NEVER has he done that. His tail was bleeding - smh. Happy tail my @$$!!! His nails are horrible! Going this low, her errors will need fixing. She literally shaved down his mustache and all facial features!!! It's monstrous and uncaring. Like why?!?!! I'm moving on and will avoid groomers named Sarah, no matter the location or doggy salon. There was ZERO cares given as she could've done a superb job on his face but no - Sarah sucks. Luckily I too have dealt with awful cuts, and showing him empathy letting him know it'll grow back for now. He's sooo not happy.

I took my dog to get groomed on 1/24/25 . I dropped her off at 1230 I discussed grooming with the groomer AMY told her not too much hair off teddy bear face and leave a poodle puff at the top ! @4 pm I received a notification on my petco app that my dog was ready l which I found strange cause they normally call. I got there to pick her up made a payment which I feel like they up charged. It's normally $63 but today it was $100. They charged me twice for matting saying she was just so matted which I know is not true because before I left we went over her body and only issue was a small Matt at her ears from bows and under her tail . I go back in the room to pick her up and when they walk her out she's yelping and had BLOOD all under her ! So I'm looking like why is she bleeding and everyone in the salon puts their Head down ! Amy then pretends she didn't know and oh good let me get her cleaned up and takes her back in the back ! I request a manger he comes out refunds me and tells me that I can take to be seen by a Vet and they will cover the cost . I call my vet but no emergency appointments for today or tomorrow. We go back in the grooming salon and AMY is bringing her back out ! AT this point I'm upset but we are discussing vet options the clean up and I'm talking to the manager and AMY Keeps trying to talk to me and explain. I'm ignoring her because when I paid ,She was right at the register ,I asked her how was the grooming session she never mentioned the cut, No one called me to say oh there was an accident here today you should come pick her up. She just sent a notification, now you wanna keep talking to test my temperature! She proceeds to say it's not that bad now that they cleaned her up and it's cause she's moving so much that it's so much blood . I don't respond to her. I continue to ask the Manger for vet options and how does payment work if I leave here do they come with me , can I have something in writing that they agree to pay the pet ER ? She interjects again and say she must take her today ! I still ignore her! I call the ER because they say they can't give me any documentation but they can just pay them over the phone and I was uncomfortable with that.We check my dog in over the phone and AMY comes back out in the middle of the MANAGER assisting me to call him to the back ! At this point I'm livid and I explain to her look Miss we are trying to get to the bottom of this situation. Your attitude has been off since I walked in ! You haven't been apologetic at all and you keep interrupting as if whatever you need is bigger than me the CUSTOMER at this point she proceeds to make the manager come to the back. Another associate had to finish the conversation we were having on the phone with the pet ER ! I waited for the Manager to return to explain to him that I didn't appreciate the way I was being treated , the customer is always first what ever issue they may have been having could wait until I was out the door and I felt that AMY was being rude because she wasn't getting the attention , she Interjects again starts fussing with me and I fused back and she proceeded to call the POLICE !!! Now I'm really pissed because you have been ANTAGONIZING me since I came in here. I no longer wanted to deal with you and now that I'm responding you call the police in DISTRESS as if I'm the AGGRESSOR ! The police showed up I waited because I didn't want her story to change! I got a case number , I try to leave and AMY tells me I can't take the grooming Paper that they normally give at the end of the session. The officer looks confused and ask why she can't she just print another one ! This lady is RUDE , UNAPOLOGETIC she did a TERRIBLE cut , it is uneven and skinned my poodle all the way down , which doesn't explain the upcharges ! She didn't clear out my dog's hair out the EARS ! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE! They did pay for the ER visit once I got to the ER however all I had to deal with is unacceptable!!! AMY SHOULD BE FIRED !!!

Generally I do my pet related shopping at another pet store (rhymes with "LetsFart") because it's twice as close. But recently they've (the one near me at least) quit carrying the larger bags of dog food for senior dogs that I buy. The seem to carry the larger bags of all the other varieties this brand makes still. For a few months I figured they were just out when I went . . . . and I would end up going to Petco. Sure, the other place still had small bags . . . . for which you end up paying about twice as much per unit . . . . no thank you! Besides the dog food, Petco had a great selection of toys, including some awesome Star Wars related one's. And even though I haven't had saltwater fish for about 20 years, going here makes me think, "Maybe it's time again.". At the very least . . . . come check out the cute lizards.

Cat litter refill station! A great way to help reduce your kitty's waste and save some money :)

We get our kitty's vaccines done at Vetco since they are far cheaper than having them done at her vet's office. After each vaccine, we just have Vetco transfer the records over to her vet's office and it's easy peasy, quick, and saves a ton of money! I love that Petco has a lot of zero waste initiatives such as the cat litter refill stations and pet treat stations where you can bring your own container. They have good prices, and lots of sales, not to mention that you can combine it with their loyalty program. The customers seem friendly and are willing to help if you ask for it. I'll continue coming back.

I can't believe I have never reviewed the grooming salon!!! This is our favorite spot for a long time. I love the whole team of groomers. They're great people and really care about the dogs. My dog goes in often for anal gland expression, and recently a fantastic puppy cut. Thanks for everything!

BUYER BEWARE!!!Don't shop here is you love your pet! We bought bones from the treat bar, brought them home and put them in an airtight container to keep them fresh. When I went to get them a treat a few days later I realized there were bugs in the bones. So disgusting. Update: Petco replies to my review... I contacted corporate and I'm still waiting for a reply a week later; they were supposed to follow up within 24 - 48 hours. So far I've been told by the manager of Petco that if he received a steak from a restaurant with bugs IN IT he would give the restaurant another chance to fix the problem. When I spoke to corporate I had a representative tell me to just continue to use my container even though it has worms and bugs in it. Oh, then he told us, the bugs could come in use for a reptile that I don't have. There seems to be a bigger problem with PetCo than them just serving bugs and worms to our fur babies. Disgusting. Would you really let a restaurant who serves you a steak with bugs IN IT, serve you again? This experience has opened my eyes. I will never go to another PetCo again.

    AFTER

If I could give a minus 5-star rating, I would. I brought my Yorkshire terrier to the salon for grooming. The grooming included a bath and haircut. When I arrived to pick him up, he looked like a chihuahua, and I expressed this to the groomer. I'm furious. When dropping him off, I specifically told the young woman to only take enough off to give him a shapelier cut. Only take a little since I was bringing him back on December 19th. I even went as far as providing a picture of what I expected. My dog looks NOTHING like a Yorkshire terrier!!!!! I'm not sure why she cut his hair so low! Grooming does not equate to simply cutting the dog's hair as low as possible. I'm really floored. My dog is a part of this family and to have him treated so poorly is deeply hurtful and concerning. In addition, it's getting colder and for a small animal, this is more than a short haircut. He has also been very sad ever since. I now must mitigate issues that otherwise would not have been prevalent. This makes me sad and tearful every time I look at him as this cannot be fixed. PETCO please retrain your groomers and/or ensure you hire proven ones. I'd hate to have anyone else have this type of experience.

Our very first interaction was great...his energy was wonderful...he did not disappoint! He was very methodical with his approach...explaining every step of the process...very engaging...constant updates of the Boyz progress...videos, photos...wait! The photos that I received were Ahhhhhhh-mazing, I mean impressive...only to learn that he's a photographer as well...but I digress. The Boyz are spoiled and I have no shame in stating this...*smile*. But they needed to learn manners. I have two large and very strong Standard Poodles - Mr. Brown and Max. They're extremely smart, pretty obedient in the house, but a huge challenge on walks...my poor dog walker. I wanted to be able to take them anywhere without the extended conversations of sit, stay, what are you doing? you know better... etc. At any rate, I'd been following OLK9 Maryland for some time online. I knew that training for two dogs was going to be a budget buster. Thankfully, I was able to take advantage of the "Black Friday" or "Cyber Monday" (can't remember which one it was). I cannot say enough about the great experience I had...the Boyz were happy to see Craig each day which was a HUGE relief for me. Yes, additional work/training on my part is required...to me that's a no brainer. As a responsible pet owner, I want to make sure that there is consistency and an expectation that my Boyz are well behaved and well mannered. Which means I have to do the work. Funny, as I was driving home from our final session, I was so tempted to take them on a short walk because I knew it would be enjoyable. But decided to wait until morning... I'm so excited to be able to have an enjoyable walk with these guys... less scolding and more bonding. Well worth the time and financial commitment. Thank you OLK9 Maryland for bringing additional joy to our home... things are definitely more "manageable". I'm really looking forward to our walks, especially since there will be NO more pulling! Can't wait to be able to take them to the "brick and mortar" with me once it's open! "Life Changing K9 Training"

I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.

When talking with them, they recommended their puppy orientation (which is more like a tailored training session to cover general information and whatever you specifically want to talk about), the cost of which goes towards the bootcamp, so you aren't losing anything in taking the class. I was already going to proceed with the bootcamp, but after our session, I was even more excited for our pup to go. Jessi worked with our 14-week puppy for just about two hours, during which time she made huge strides in her "leave it" and in walking and jumping. Jessi gave me easy tips that I used the next day on a walk, and it was like a night and day experience in getting her to heel. I can't wait for her to attend her bootcamp. Another huge perk to this location (and something I specifically wanted when searching for locations) is they also do general overnight boarding, where they will keep up her training. You can even leave notes about specific concerns if you did their bootcamp with them. They are also so so close to BWI, which is great for us in planning boarding. It's also really not far from DC (just over 30 minutes) for anyone in the District!

Unfortunately, our most recent experience with my dog completely changed that. My dog stayed at Premier for approximately two and a half weeks while I was out of the country. When I emailed to check on him, I received a generic response that gave me little confidence that the person responding actually knew how he was doing. I specifically requested a photo or video of him, but never received one. I was also told they would try to post a video of him doing remedial training on Instagram, but that never happened. When I brought him home, his behavior was noticeably different. He came home approximately seven pounds lighter and was absolutely ravenous for several days. He also began having accidents in the house, something he had never done--not even as a puppy. I also noticed silver/metal marks on his teeth that, given everything else, made me concerned that he may have been repeatedly chewing on or trying to get out of his enclosure. I understand that my dog can be difficult with new people and may require extra patience. I have always been upfront about that, and Premier was aware of his needs. That is precisely why I trusted a facility that presents itself as experienced in caring for dogs to provide him with the appropriate attention and care. What is most upsetting is that I never received a meaningful explanation for what happened. After returning home, I reached out to Premier to ask questions, express my concerns, and request information about my dog's care, including how he was housed, fed, and monitored and whether any concerns about his behavior, eating, weight, or attempts to escape had been documented. Premier did not respond to my concerns or provide the explanation I requested. After 13 years of loyalty, this experience has fundamentally changed my view of Premier. I trusted them with a member of my family, and I am deeply disappointed by the care he received and by the lack of communication afterward. We will no longer use Premier, and I cannot recommend them based on our most recent experience.

She has some funny rules like don't come inside her facility until you're called but if you listen to her, she won't disappoint you. Now 20 months later, the older the dog gets the better he behaves. It's unbelievable how the 10 words he knows takes care of every situation that the dog gets into that needs correcting. Tell her Yasmin's husband recommended her.

I got my dog only a few months ago and work was sending me on a business trip. I was SO concerned…read moreabout where to board her cause I've heard all the horror stories. I knew this was the place to board my Coco when other dogs were coming in tails wagging and smiling instead of seeming terrified like other boarding places. I LOVE that they take photos everyday and upload them to Facebook so you can see your baby and what they're doing. Anytime I need to board my dog she will be going here. Honestly- just look at her smiles here!

-Our GSD was not brushed out as well as he has been in the past…read more -I never got a call when our dogs were ready for pickup. -During drop off, I let them know that our GSD will bite through his leash and to please let everyone know. In the past, they've only used our leash to bring them back and forth to the front and not during grooming. However, today they decided to use our leash during the grooming process and he bit through it. I then verified that my warning about the leash was never communicated to the staff. The owner was then called and they stated, "nothing can be done." One of the employees could tell I was frustrated and then offered one of their grooming leashes which is for a small dog and would not be appropriate for our 90 pound GSD. I just thought it was interesting that "nothing could be done" for a customer that has been going there for years and has used both their boarding and grooming services without any prior issues, has referred plenty of customers to their business, and made sure to warn them prior to the appointment but the staff failed to pass the message along.

My Hank loves going to Tecla's. In the morning as I am getting g ready he is just waiting for me to…read moresay TECLA'S. Then he runs to the door wagging his tail. I can't get him to go potty at home before we leave, he gets so excited knowing he is going to play at daycare at Tecla's. The staff is very friendly. I think they are a little pricy but with everything else going up. Hank is well worth it. I am sure it's not a cheap business to be running so my doggie treats go out to you Tecla I do like the fact they offer grooming as well as there nice long hours. The business has grown since I started several years ago and I would like to take a tour on the expansion or see their growing pains in a good way. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because in the mornings they need more than once person checking in the customers and their dogs esp. When someone is dropping their pet off for overnight. They fill out the form ask questions etc... they really need one door for day care And the other door for over night stays and have another person working in the mornings. It's not even fair to the person working muscles the dogs and parents. I hear many adults complain about the slow drop understaffed situation in the mornings. Either way I know Hank is in a fun safe place. Thank you all at Tecla's esp since I know how hard you all work taking care of our fur family.
