My wife took our dog to the groomer in petco today. First, my wife was just trying to tell the girl at the front that last time they didn't really cut my dog's nails. The girl started having an attitude with my wife. My wife was just merely trying to remind them about cutting my dog's nails. She was being polite and calm about it. The employee didn't have to give her an attitude. Second, when my dog came home from the groomer she kept shaking her head. We thought maybe there's was water in her ears. 15 minutes later she was still shaking her head. My wife looked into her ears and saw cotton balls in her head. They left the F n cotton balls in my dog's ear. If I can give a zero star I would. We will no longer go to this establishment. Some employees are rude and not very attentive to their job. If something would have happened to my dog, would Petco pay for the vets bill? Probably not. So petco, please train your employees right. read more

We love taking our doggies for grooming here. Groomers r so nice here especially chantel. Lily and Tigger always looks so nice and clean when they get groomed. Also after grooming u can swing by snack section and get treats for ur doggies on the way out. read more

Very good service at the groomers! My puppy was rejected at the whittier petsmart for being a german shepherd and the groomers there were too scared to handle a 4mos gs puppy. So we came here. Very inviting groomers. They weren't scared and could handle my girl easily. They did a great job too! The store is a bit small and old, but the staff is good. I like the trainer Connie, the groomers, and the normal staff. The selections are decent and I like the seasonal petco dog toys. Its a pity the fish department was reduced, but sitll This is my go to Petco! read more

I come here atleast once a week and every time the customer service here is awful. I came in tonight and asked the girl on the register (kiana?? kiara??) if she could help me in the aquatic section as I needed some shrimp. She had me waiting there for 10 mins while she pet the dogs. The line was completely empty when I asked for help and I ended up walking out. She said a snarky "have a nice night" as I left. The best girls used to work here. Now they are gone and Tami is there and its awful. My suggestion, request another groomer. She is not good with animals, is lazy and does an awful job. Last time she did my dogs nails, they were long and uneven because she wanted to take an early lunch. After picking him up from grooming I needed to buy him food I explained to the employee who was on the floor who asked if I needed help o wanted to change food and was between a few brands. I thought that by moving the store to another location and making it new, that the store would be much better. The only good thing about this store is that it's clean and new, unfortunately. When it was on Whittier Blvd, they had WAY more things for dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, and small animals. I have a bunny and I could only find Timothy hay and two snacks that we don't even purchase. Came back and got the tank and a new betta. Once again lisa was there it was Tuesday so you guys was just unloading them. She was very fast and careful with the bettas omg was she nice to them fish. Like honestly she talked me into a second tank and fish. But it was well worth it. This is my favorite location due to staff. Need new stuff for the betta tanks tho. Just my opinion. Update: The store manager reached out to me promptly to see how he could rectify the situation and assured me he will follow up and test the current mice supply for mites. I appreciate the quick response and the concern for the animals that he showed and have amended my rating to reflect that. Thank you again. Both of the fancy mice I've purchased from this location have had mites and ended up infecting all the others in the cage once they came home with me. The first mouse I purchased sadly didn't even live to see six months old, which was completely heartbreaking. This store keeps all their mice in aquarium tanks which appear dirty and smell like they haven't been cleaned frequently. No wonder they all have mites! Worst customer service. Very unwelcoming, employees look miserable. Haley, one of the girls working there, needs extensive customer service training. I wanted to buy a fish, but she discouraged me into purchasing one, even though I have a large tank at home with a filter and heater system. My family and I went here today to return an item that we had purchased at the Whittier quad Petco and I will never go back to this Petco! First of all we were not greeted which okay fine maybe they're busy but after not finding what we needed (frisky cat food) I asked the cashier, she informed me that they don't carry anything that has grain and everything is all natural... okay fine... so I went on with my return gave her the receipt and then she wanted my debit card to return money on to. I informed her that I wanted my return in cash seeing as they got their money as soon as the transaction was complete, she insisted that she couldn't return the money cash at that point my husband tried explaining to her. After that it was down hill not only did she talk over him but she even told him she knew more than him because she was in retail. Anyway it gets worse from there she was one of the rudest retail associate I've ever dealt with. The only thing that saved my business with Petco was my store at the quad with derrick because go figure no return issue there... they even greeted us when we got there and they WERE super busy! Anyways my point to this story is Andrea is why we do need robots in customer retail. She is god awful and I hope she gets fired because I won't be going back so long as she's employed there. read more

I bought a $12 bag of rabbit food from this store a couple weeks ago. When I got home, unfortunately, I discovered that it was hamster food instead. It was totally my fault. So I went back and threw myself on the mercy of the court. I didn't expect to get an exchange. After all, I had already opened the bag. But to my surprise, they allowed an exchange. To reward them for their great attitude, I bought a $19 bag of rabbit food. They should make some money off of this good deed. read more

This store is located in a rundown plaza currently undergoing some upgrades. There is plenty of parking, and every time I've gone in the store has been clean and organized. Staff friendliness is a hit-or-miss, however when we adopted a cat and came in to do some shopping a staff member gave us a booklet with coupons and helped us get great deals on what we were buying. She went out of her way and took the time to do this, and it was so appreciated. read more

We have been Petco customers for decades. We started bringing our 2 small dogs to get groomed here when they moved to their new location on Imperial. Beautiful new grooming facility! Randie was the first to groom them & she did an outstanding job. Next time we tried to book, but Randie moved elsewhere. Melissa was the next groomer & their cuts were "okay" (both Shihtzu). Yesterday we brought them in to Martiiy, since Melissa is also gone. We received an emergency call from Petco 1-1/2 hrs into their grooming. Our one dog was badly cut and was brought to Gregg Animal hospital. She received a 1-1/2" split in her groin. Dr. Gregg (wonderful vet) glued-stitched the injury together (which came apart 1 hour later due to the location on her groin area), gave her antibiotics for 7 days & pain meds. Our other dog was still under Martiiy's care & we were extremely worried for her while tending to our injured dog. After leaving the vet we raced back to Petco to pick up our other dog, expecting her to be groomed. Her grooming was a slop job. Tail, ears, face, feet not trimmed. Body trim choppy, as if an amateur got ahold of clippers and swiped away. We grabbed her and ran out of there. Zero apology from Martiiy for slicing open our little dog. She did say that our dog "must have been nervous & moved." Martiiy was the nervous one. A groomer is supposed to be trained and hold the dog's leg while trimming that area. Someone needs to watch this groomer & train her properly. With no apology (apologies go a long way), she didn't take responsibility for her reckless treatment to our sweet dog. Our injured dog was a complete mess - besides the wound, she arrived at the vets with wet ears & shivering. Her body trim was a choppy mess, her ears, tail, face, nails & feet were not groomed. I'm now dealing with an injured dog with a gaping wound (vet said to watch it closely since it opened & bring her in again if it doesn't heal properly) groomed 1/4 of the way & the other one needing her grooming to be completed. I would give negative stars if I could, but the one star goes to Yvonne for transporting Sweety quickly to the vet, calling us, sticking around at the vet office and caring about her. All I can say about this place is to get pet food if it's on sale, but groom your pets here at your own risk. read more

For such a small store, this location manages to have a great selection of dog and cat food and supplies. I go out of my way to come here for grooming. I drop in with large dogs for nail clipping, and we've always had a good experience. If you sign up for their Petco Pals Rewards card, nail clipping is just $10. This store is small, dark, and sure looks like Petco isn't sure if they'll stay. But if you're looking for a friendly store, easy parking, and nice people, don't ignore this place. read more

Even though I live closer to another PetCo, I will always choose this location first because of the friendly staff. This location is significantly smaller than all of the other Petco locations. This may be because this is an older location. The shelves are stocked with as much product as they can hold, but this location doesn't have all of the items you may be looking for. I've visited this location several times and left empty handed because they didn't have what I was looking for and found myself going elsewhere. read more
