I called ahead to see if they have a silver bone pet ID tag... Matt told me they carried them, however, my mistake... I didn't ask if there were any IN STOCK. Once I get there, I don't see any of the kind of tag I need. I asked a guy at the register if he would please come and look to see if I'm just not seeing it or if it's not there. Nope, it's not in stock... I asked him if he would help me contact another location before I trek all over Nashville. At this point, he's speaking with another employee and voilà, CAT comes to my rescue... she looked in a drawer near the checkout register and found the kind of tag I need. But my problem wasn't solved there, the font options are nothing like what is advertised on Petco.com (see picture attached)... She said the font options in the tag making machine are universal to all Petco Stores across America. Bottom Line: a) CAT IS A ROCKSTAR: If you need any reliable help when visiting this store be sure and ask for Cat. b) Website font not an option in actual store: Unacceptable, false advertising!

This is the best photo I could take before his amputation when Blue Pearl kindly allowed me to see him.

MY DOG HAD TO UNDERGO AMPUTATION AS A RESULT OF THEIR GROOMING. Really wish I could give this negative stars. My dog is well-behaved and has 4 yrs of groomers praising his training. He's gone to multiple training classes and I groom him at home regularly and he sits still. The entire team at this petco was absolutely & ridiculously undertrained and underprepared to handle the situation when their groomer (Sara Eagle) cut off my dog's back paw's dewclaw. I was told they by Cat/Kat (you'll learn later) that they don't have a General Manager I can discuss this with. Jay called me 2 hours after I dropped my dog off with 0 information - likely because he wasn't given any information himself. Jay told me they were taking him to a Blue Pearl in Franklin and after I informed them there was a closer one, they said they couldn't take him there because it was not available (I heard a back and forth speaker convo between Jay and Cat/Kat trying to figure out why she hadn't looked into the nearer hospital). I drove over half an hour to the Franklin Blue Pearl immediately only to learn from the Blue Pearl team after 10-15 minutes that Petco had decided to take him to the Blue Pearl I informed them of (nobody called me from petco to tell me this). I called petco and after a brief hold, Jay answered and told me he did not know where they were, and after calling Cat/Kat (again I hear their back and forth over the speaker) he was informed for what seemed to be the first time that I was to drive 30+ minutes back to the Blue Pearl they were actually at. When I got there a woman who I had never met or talked to was sitting there texting on her phone (I learned her name is Cat/Kat after asking but she refused to give me her last name "I don't have to give you my last name" is what she said when I asked for a business card). She informed that they were more than willing to give me a FREE BAG OF DOG FOOD to make up for this incident. Before I had even seen my dog. Before I was even sure he was well. That's the level of training they have. Cat/Kat also informed they have no official list of nearby emergency vets and she simply looked up blue pearls on her phone and she had only seen the one in Franklin AND THAT WAS WHY she didn't think to go to the one nearby. And it was me informing them that made her realize where she was to go. She had 0 compassion, 0 kindness or understanding, 0 willingness to support me. And yet she informed me that she was the only person I could talk to about this incident. It was disgusting to sit in here and hear Cat/Kat offer me a free grooming with a different groomer to make up for it. With no information as to what would happen to prevent this from happening again. I am appalled at the way they have treated the most precious thing in my entire life. I urge you to never take your dog there ever. Injuries happen and I first responded with understanding and grace, but it's the way they handled the injury that is absolutely distasteful and broke my heart. BY THE WAY THE BLUE PEARL TEAM INFORMED ME that Cat/Kat's excuse as to why they hurt my dog is because they "didn't know the dewclaw was there". The Blue Pearl team was appalled that someone who should be trained on a dog's anatomy could even say that and that I was offered a free bag of dog food for my troubles. My dog's entire dewclaw was amputated as a result of this incident. Please, please, don't take your dog anywhere near this place. I'm begging you. There was no thought into what they would do to make sure this never happened again. They don't even have a printed paper of nearby emergency hospitals. They aren't doing the bare minimum to care of your baby. And if this happened to you here, I urge you to leave a review so that people won't have a similar experience.

I live between the petco in Hermitage and the one in Bellvue. None in between. So it's kind of a trek for me to go for cat food.. Thank goodness the staff in both stores are very nice. I drove out to this one, in Bellevue for the Indigo Moon dry cat food and thank goodness it was in stock. I can't settle for anything less. The store is clean, wide isles, knowledgeable staff.. They know exactly where everything is kept. If I'm back this way again, I will be sure to stop in and get my needs. *** I really appreciate clean stores with no odor.. and this one has no odor.

    Freshly groomed!

I love taking my long haired dachshund to petco grooming! Cason (the groomer) is always so nice and she comes out looking and smelling fantastic. He also helps us prebook our appointments so we can make sure she's getting taken care of. Take ur pups to Cason, they'll be in good hands!

Trey has been my dog groomer for over three years now, and he is truly just the best around: incredible groomer, magician with nervy dogs, and just all around kind human. When he moved to Camp Bow Wow earlier this year, it was a no brainer to follow him. He's one of the most reasonably priced groomers in the area and does an incredible job with all sorts of dogs. My dog genuinely loathes bathes and is overall a nervous dog around other dogs. Trey puts him at ease and he comes wagging his tail every time he seems him, even though he knows he's getting a bath. His nails are always filed down and maintained well and he smells so delightful after a groom with adorable fluffy fur! The facility is super clean and I appreciate the dogs are separated for grooming and have their own crates while being groomed. When my dog got skunked when I was out of town last year, for no extra charge, Trey worked his magic and in a couple of visits the smell was almost gone. True miracle worker and I'm so grateful we found him, as it takes a huge headache out of my life and helps me to know I'm always leaving my baby for a few hours with someone I trust. There's a dedicated parking lot for customers and I appreciate that staff is on top of making sure any dog who comes here is up to date on shots/vaccinations. Even though I don't use the day camp services the staff at the front desk are incredibly kind and welcoming to me and my pup and give him little treats and hugs every time we come in. It's a wonderful and welcoming experience and I can't recommend getting your fur child groomed here with Trey enough!

Instead, I was called back within about 10 minutes and told that he had "failed" because he was "too nervous." This was his very first time at the facility. He's a puppy in a completely new environment, surrounded by unfamiliar people, sounds, and dogs. Expecting him to immediately jump into the group and be perfectly comfortable within minutes seems unrealistic. He wasn't being aggressive, reactive, or causing any problems. From what I saw watching the camera in the waiting room, he was simply sitting off to the side and taking time to adjust the new environment. What upset me most was that he was not given a fair opportunity. A puppy who is understandably nervous in a new environment deserves patience, guidance, and time to acclimate--not a failure after 10 minutes. Had I known the evaluation consisted of only a few minutes to prove himself, I would have had very different expectations. I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment for all dogs, but I left feeling that my puppy was judged before he was ever given a real chance. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect the welcoming, supportive environment I was expecting from a daycare that works with dogs of all ages and temperaments.

I bought a personal training package from Instinct and the trainer came to my home to train my dog and me. It was such a good decision. Both May and I really liked working with the trainer Lauren S. Lauren got her sitting in a session. All in all I think we had 9 sessions with Lauren. In that time we learned a lot and have been applying it. My relationship with my dog is so much better because of Instinct. The thing I will caution people against is having unrealistic expectations of your dog and the trainer. If you go in with the desire to make your dog a unquestioningly obedient robot then you will be disappointed. Just focus on the over all quality and happiness of your dog's life

We were even sent an hour long questionnaire about our dog's history/health/behavior/etc. prior to training. Y'all...they care so much! We have a 1 year old rescue pup who's dog reactive, and we've been pretty much unable to take him on walks or near other dogs at all. Jenna helped us overcome all of this and we could not be more grateful. She coached us on how to slowly warm him up to lots of different scenarios- we even had a playdate with another dog today with no issues! His reactivity will be something we'll continue to work on for months, but I can't tell you how relieved we are to have gained some confidence with it. Jenna really helped put things into perspective and helped us understand how to read our dog and take things at his pace. You really can't rush progress like this, and I love that Instinct doesn't promise "quick, fast, easy results" because those are not effective or even possible. We would absolutely do this again if given the chance, booking with Instinct was a game changer.

I started seriously questioning returning our puppy because I had ZERO left in me to tolerate her. To make a long story short, we researched dog trainers and were impressed with the amount of positive reviews we read on The Dog Wizard and decided to give the private training sessions a shot. Tate was our trainer and he was heaven sent. I appreciated how he took the time to listen to our individual problems with our pup and never once made me feel like the most clueless dog owner (which I can admit to being at one point). In our sessions I learned an immense amount about how my puppy was interpreting my actions and different methods to try on her. Our sessions were part education and part action. We would apply the newly learned method with the pup until it clicked. Getting a dog trainer does not mean that you are off the hook after he/she leaves. The only way to get your the training methods to stick are to continue to practice them every day. It's a great way to hold you accountable until the next session.
