I went to visit a friend who just got a cat, so I stopped at this Petco to get some cat treats. The selection is very good and the store is very clean and nicely laid out. I had a question about some of the treats and one of the people there was nice and took his time answering my questions. Nice staff, clean store, good experience.

Clean floors and aisles. Very organized.

I'm giving this particular Petco location in Smithfield 5 stars because it's the best one I've been to so far. Compared to the other Petco stores, this one is very clean and organized. The staff members here are also much nicer than the others (the employees at the Attleboro location are horrible--unfriendly, unhelpful) . The other Petco stores should be more like this!

If you want to be penalized for going in to the store to purchase their product with cash verses putting your debit/credit card information online (and picking up or shipping the product o your home) then this is the company for you! Reason for this review...I needed two cat calming collars ASAP and checked Petco's site for a pack of two cat calming collars. I chose Comfort Zone 2 pack for $24.98 (see photo showing the product description and box online). Please note: There was no disclaimer that the price online was cheaper OR that purchasing in store was going to be more money OR that the company does not honor the online price, if charged differently in store. So after checking everything out, I sent my boyfriend to pick up the collars since he was going to be right next door to the Petco location that I had looked at for the collars and the fact that I needed them ASAP. I told him that after tax they would be $26.73 (see photo of the online amount after tax). He came back and said that he was charged $41.72 (see photo of the receipt). Seeing that he was charged 52% more than what was stated online, I immediately called customer service to explain what happened and see about getting my $14.99 difference back. While the customer service representative on the phone was cordial. She tried to explain that this overcharged amount was accurate because I purchased a 2 pack and the price I was seeing online was for only one collar. I corrected her and said that I was currently looking at the product online and it clearly said "pack of two" for $24.98, (said that I would send her a copy of the add if she didn't see it online herself) then she tried to say it was always cheaper to buy items online verses in the store. I corrected her again and said no where on the site or product page does it state product online is cheaper verses in store. It only has states that if I auto refill, then it's cheaper. She kept putting me on hold and came back to say that the only thing she could offer me was a $10 reward credit for my inconvenience (not even the amount they overcharged me for!) and I was welcome to buy the product online for the cheaper price and make another trip up to the store to pick it up or I could have it shipped to me and then I could easily return the overcharged one for a refund....seriously... what??? Not only is this inconvenient, it's flat out stealing from the consumer and not at trying to hide it. Where in the world is a $10 reward (which is bogus "money" to them) make up for the $14.99 actual cash, help for my "inconvenience"!?... seriously... keeping my money and the asking me to spend more so I could use my "$10 reward " not to mention the time to go back to the store, let alone the gas spent to make TWO trips, just so I can pick up an online order for the exact same product I originally bought in person. I've been a good customer to Petco, not only did I previously participate in their rewards program when I saw a deal or needed something quickly and while I have purchased things online (especially during Covid) but I took my 2 cats to the onsite vet clinic. Sadly that will no longer be the case. I'll no longer be using their vet service or shopping in person or online, not if it's clearly been explained to me that I'm going to be penalized for shopping "instore" with cash verses online with debit/credit card information. This is definitely a BUYER BEWARE WARNING situation!!

I went on line & purchased their vet card Premium program! My friend recommended me who manages the Providence location! Smithfield had an opening in Smithfield to see my dog who needed veterinary care. They were excellent from the moment I went in. Very professional, caring, and concerned for our dog! I highly recommend this vet & store!

First time in here and I was genuinely impressed. Very clean and organized. Decent prices throughout. Staff was welcoming when I walked in and helpful as I was looking for a replacement filter for my fish tank. I ended up having to do a return/exchange and it was extremely simple. I think I may return to Pet Co as opposed to Pets Mart from now on as they made the return very simple and staff was great! They also had some pets such as a great assortment of fish (tropical and freshwater), guinea pigs, hampsters, mice, and ferrets. They also had a treat bar for dogs in the front which was quite unique! Definitely check it out if you have any pets or are in the market for a pet! They also appear to have an on site animal hospital/veterinarian as well as an on site grooming salon- which is amazing!

    Ears

I'm highly disappointed that I had to get my appointment that I waited days for to be cancelled due my Doodles ears being too matted. Groomer did not feel comfortable or was experienced enough to give my dog a bath and cut. I suggested cutting around the ears or avoiding it but like I said previously they weren't experienced enough. I ended up going to another petco to get service. What THIS petco won't do another will. Honestly they just wanted make a referral bonus off of me by directing me to their vet. If you are a new client best believe they will send you through hurdles.

Very clean well organized. I like the self dog wash area. Employees are friendly and seem to be happy there. The selection is good. A big pet store was needed in this area. It's not as large as some but seems to be geared towards what the customer is looking for now - fresh foods, self dog wash area, plus the regular grooming etc.

First of all, she's a holistic vet…read more- she won't take blood out of your pup, or do any invasive procedures to check them out. She works on using kinesiology and (in my opinion) intuition. That said, all those methods WORK. She has managed to come up with a plan, food and diet change, to heal my pup from Perianal Fistulae (nasty illness common in GSDs). Now, I pretty much forced her (ok she was cooperative) to team up with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Vet from Connecticut (Dr. Stephanie Torlone) and come up with a plan to help him. This was back in February and both of them did a fab job ! They really got along well and came up with several herbs to work with that would help Albi out. As for personality wise, Dr. Doolittle is a tough cookie. She expects the best out of everything and everyone, so if you can't handle that, you'll be sorely disappointed. However, I love her for this. Price wise - this is expensive, but please note: I am a full time worker and full time student - I barely make ends meet, and when Albi got sick, I had even more trouble. But I KNEW Doolittle could help us out without using harsh immunosuppresants. I also knew based on my research of PFs, that this was the only sure way to get rid of them. Doolittle was worth every penny, still is. Every once in a while, you'll find some things are marked up, but if you do your research right, you can get some supplements/treats/treatments for cheaper elsewhere. However, the price for her services are worth it - she uses every ounce of energy in her to get the right combination of treatments for each patient, and she deserves some compensation for that.

When I sent my rescue dog into Solid K9 he was nervous and fearful to a debilitating level. He was great with people, great with dogs, but absolutely horrible with modern technology. The sound of a car door shutting would send him scrambling for the hills. After three weeks in the Board & Train program, his confidence had skyrocketed. He is still a naturally nervous dog, but the team at Solid K9 gave him a base level of confidence which I could simply never have provided him in a very short amount of time. They gave us the tools to work together and communicate. I recently went on vacation and dropped my dog off at the board and play program for the first time since his training. I figured my dog would obviously be nervous and bummed to leave me, but the second he saw the trainers his tail started blasting back and forth like a windshield wiper and he completely forgot who I was. He ran off into the kennel area without even saying goodbye. After that performance my vacation was 100% guilt-free. If you need better communication with your dog, don't hesitate to go with the team at Solid K9.

We rescued a 12 week old puppy from Texas and quickly learned we needed pro help as we haven't been puppy parents for 20 years and this little girl was a nutjob and may have been heading down a bad path behavior wise. Kristin got right back to me after my initial web page inquiry. When she arrived, she was relaxed and professional and her kind, caring, genuine personality was obvious from the start. She CARES about our furbaby. Her training skills were so effective even from the initial consultation that this little pup was learning: come, sit, shake and down (heel) and most important to us was her going in her crate when asked as this is something we really want her to master and be comfortable with. Kristin made it known that our role is crucial in her training and gave us handouts for our homework and skills to be met. By the second session, our pupper was learning: "touch" (snoot boops), learning to jump into her bed and "leave it" (biting stuff) and stay. We are able to redirect the evening zoomy/crazy time with physical and mental workouts for her that is good for all of us. The entire time during these sessions, Kristin is upbeat, fun and it really feels like we've known her forever. We trust her to do the best thing for all of us. I'm so happy we connected with her. I am excited for the future of what this little doggo is going to learn, master and how her confidence is going to grow. You cannot go wrong choosing her to help with your furkids.
