    I can't believe I haven't gone to this location sooner! Tustin Petco has some of the best groomers in the Southern California region. No other groomer wants the smoke! I brought Skippy to Danielle A. to get groomed after a month long vacation, suffice to say his fur has become a bit haggard. And to top it all off, Skippy injured his back leg (another story for a later time). But none of those proved to be an obstacle the up-and-coming Tustin Petco groomer Danielle! After an undisclosed but not too concerningly long of a time, Skippy emerged from the ruins of the disheveled shell of his past self and came out a new, adorable, revitalized (albeit still injured, again, a story for a later time) version of himself! This is in big part thanks to the incomparable grooming skills by Danielle. Also shouts out to her for catering to Skippy's weak leg midgroom. Truly a real one. Skippy has since been offered partnerships from the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the AKC National Championship, appearances for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and a spot in the Cabinet of the Trudeau Administration. We're not sure how that last one came to be, Skippy's not a Canadian citizen. Either way, we both owe Danielle a big thanks for making all this a possibility with just one grooming session! Definitely coming back!

    So this is a review that is just a feel good story. I've had amazing customer service in the past from various places and establishments. It usually prompts me to write about my experience on Yelp good or bad. This review is of the Petco location in Tustin off Irvine Blvd... I came in on Wed, Aug 27th to grab a portable soft sided crate for our new pitty puppy along with some other goodies like a Carhartt collar and some silicon lids for my pups bowls AND a nifty double sided spatula as I mix wet and dry food for my puppy (* Hills Science Diet for Puppies ** Tried raw... puppy didn't like and too many minerals in raw foods), but I digress... So I had my puppy with me on this trip so he could hand pick a few items by sniffing them for approval or putting his head down to disapprove any selections. It was a semi-hot day in SoCal and they were doing construction of the parking lot next door in front of Trader Joe's. So the parking lot was packed - lot's of cars and in the midst of all this automotive and parking lot chaos - I had my puppy in the cart with my items unbagged (bc I was offered a bag at Petco and decided I could manage 3 loose items) along with a large flat box that contained the collapsible soft sided crate. As I approached my vehicle - Kingston (puppy) - wanted to go mark some territory so I proceeded to pop my trunk and place my large box in the trunk and I grabbed the loose items and threw them in the dog tote that I carry for Kingston. No biggie. After Kingston marked up a few rocks and soil - it was time to roll out. The items I picked up at Petco were perfect! Crate worked as intended as we wanted to have Kingston in a crate inside our car during short trips so he's not jumping around everywhere and the collar was legit - can't go wrong with Carhartt - and the bowl covers were magical! They stick on top of any bowl size to provide a suction like seal without any sticky residue!! So as I reached for the spatula so I could scoop out some wet food and mix it with the dry food... I could not find it! I looked in the dog tote - nothing... checked my car - nothing... looked at the receipt in case they didn't ring it up - it was on there and I paid $5.99 for it. I figured at this point I lost $5.99 bc it would not be worth it to check if I had accidentally left it on the counter when I checked out -- otherwise, it would've been left in the cart in the parking lot and at this point the following day - no way anyone would find this spatula. So for ish and giggles -- I decided to go to Petco the following day and ask about it with receipt in hand. I was going to be in the area and what would it hurt? I was thinking to myself... how do I even go about asking for this? Uh... by the way I purchased this spatula thing and I think I left it on the counter or in the cart which I left in the parking lot yesterday. Any chance this $5.99 item was returned? -- That's the best I could come up with so I decided to go with that. Enter Petco and Ary greets me with... "I can help you on the first register... do you have a return?" I then proceed to recite what I wrote in the paragraph above. To my surprise she looks at me and then says... "I'm sooooo glad you came back and asked for this!" I'm like - wait what? You guys actually have it here? The spatula I left yesterday in the parking lot??? Low and behold Ary pulls out an OD Green spatula from under the counter with a sticky note that says "Found in shopping cart (outside) 8/27" BOOM! The universe is right again and something so little and so insignificant has prompted me to write this entire saga as it unfolded in my head and physically at Petco. If you've read this far - thank you for reading and I really want to say thank you to Ary and Petco for not tossing this back into inventory or discarding it in the trash. If these guys take this much care and attention to a $5.99 silicone spatula left in a hot parking lot inside a cart... I DEFINITELY will be back to support this store location and also entrust the wellness and happiness of my puppy with the staff here who clearly care for their customers and have pride in their work! Great job Ary and Petco staff. Kudos to you guys and you will never know how much this small gesture made my day and brought a smile to my face reaffirming that people can be kind and thoughtful despite the crazy world we seem to live in now a days. Till we meet again! Thank you!!

Dave was super patient and informative and gave us great tips for helping with Knox's energy and excitability. Not only that, he did a great job navigating our other dog, Maddox who was along for the ride and sometimes really interested in Dave's treats! Dave helped us with methods on how to help handle Knox's excitement when new people come into the house and to keep him calm when he sees dogs on walks and some things in-between, providing step-by-step instructions for ways we can work with him to get him to those calm places. We really liked his approach and the kindness he showed our dogs. So many places we looked at used electric collars and it was not something we wanted to do, so we were really happy when we found Dave!

He took time to get to know our family and tailor Hank's training to his personality and needs. He is incredibly knowledgeable and we have seen a huge improvement in our dog's behavior. Hanky is happier and now we know how to support him in order to avoid aggression. We also started taking both of our dogs to EveryDog Daycamp and it has been amazing to have a safe place where our dogs can play with other pups without me worrying something might happen to them.     Sal is amazing! We were at a loss after already completing basic training with our pup, as he was…read morestill struggling with negative behaviors we needed to correct, including nipping, guarding, fear, biting at the vet, and anxiety with strangers. We brought our 2-year-old rescue chihuahua mix, Harry, to Sal in hopes that he could help us address these more significant trauma-related issues. Harry was a tough nut to crack, but after the one-week board and train, we were blown away by the positive changes we saw. Sal and his team made incredible breakthroughs with Harry. He was able to be held and touched by the trainers, stopped guarding, and became noticeably calmer and happier overall. The post-board and train "tune-ups" were also extremely effective, allowing us to troubleshoot concerns during our 1:1 follow-up sessions with Sal. Harry has continued to return to Sal for day boarding, touch-ups, and additional socialization with other dogs, which he loves. He is always excited to see Sal and the training staff, which tells us the experience was truly positive for him. Now that we've completed the initial training and several boarding sessions, Harry is doing great. We can have people enter our home, he can go to the vet, get his teeth cleaned with no anesthesia, and receive care without needing to be muzzled or heavily medicated, and he is much more compliant overall. A bonus is that we can now confidently leave Harry for a day or vacation boarding, knowing he is in the best care and continuing his training while we're away. We can't recommend Sal and his team enough for their incredible work, professionalism, and responsiveness with Harry.

We were amazed when we picked him after the 2 weeks.. he was able to focus on walks, has 'place' and 'home' down, and overall behaves much better in public. We reached out to Sal because we needed help getting Russer to focus and listen to us in public.. we can now take him to the beach, walks, and just about anywhere without worrying about him lunging at another dog or barking. Russer is also very obsessed with his 'uncle Sal.' Whenever we need to go away for the weekend, we drop off Russer to stay with Sal which is a relief to know he's getting a training refresh and is staying with someone we fully trust. He also has such a blast socializing with the other dogs. Overall, the team at Obey My Commands knows what they're doing and is a team you can fully trust with your pup

    PetSmart Grooming Review…read more I had a very disappointing experience at the PetSmart grooming salon. I brought my dog, Zoe, in yesterday for a walk-in nail trim. When I entered the salon, the associate named Liz was on her phone. She asked if I had an appointment, and I explained it was just a walk-in nail cut. She told me to wait "one second" while she finished texting. She remained on her phone for a good 2-3 minutes before helping me. After finally checking the computer, she told me my dog's vaccination was expired as of November 19. I explained that Zoe is fully vaccinated and that this didn't sound right. Liz insisted it was expired and argued with me. To resolve this, I immediately contacted Vetco, where my dog receives her vaccines. I even scheduled an appointment the same day. Vetco then called me back and confirmed that Zoe's vaccine is valid until 2027. They emailed me the vaccination records right away. I returned to the salon with the emailed proof and showed Liz that my dog is fully vaccinated. Despite this, she said she still could not take my dog and told me to come back another day. This was frustrating, especially since the incorrect information appeared to be entered on PetSmart's side. I should not be inconvenienced or turned away due to an internal error, especially after providing valid documentation. I asked for a manager. The manager did not resolve the issue and said the head of the salon would call me, but no one ever followed up. Overall, the lack of professionalism, phone use while assisting customers, refusal to accommodate after proof was provided, and poor follow-up from management made this a very frustrating experience. I expected better customer service and accountability.
