I called Pete Moore Monday 05/11/2026 and I spoke with Richard in service and I told him that my service engine soon light was on and when I am at a red light, the car bucks. He had me bring the car in yesterday 05/14/2026 and told me it would be $150 for them to diagnose it. I was there at 0800. He called me at 1300 and advised me what was wrong with my car. He said that the serpentine belt was frayed, the EGR valve was clogged and the wrong spark plugs in there. So upon arrival, he told me again what was wrong and said that I needed the serpentine belt fixed now because if I didn't, it would lock me out of my car. I told him I would just take it to my mechanic and let him fix it. He then told me I had to pay $300 for the diagnostic fee. I said you told me $150, he said it's $150 for each thing we diagnose. I told him you never told me that and I wasn't paying the other $150 and I didn't. I left and went to my mechanics shop and told him what I was told, he told me the belt had nothing to do with locking me out of my car and if the wrong plugs were in there it wouldn't even start or would misfire and its not doing any of that. So I called Richard while I was still there and repeated to him what he told me and he said he misspoke. I feel he was trying to take advantage of me because I was a woman. I will NEVER go back there again. read more

VW beetle has been in and out of service constantly only to have dash lights all come on again and some how it's my fault, plus they keep vehicle for weeks, don't return calls and have excuse after excuse or no answer on repair. Run buyer Run! We have spent months trying to deal with this company. They accessed our PII and falsified paperwork without our knowledge or consent. They also intentionally did so. Yup that's ID theft and fraud. We were dealing with this all though the holidays in 2024, its now spring of 2025 and we are still dealing with this. We paid insurance on a car we didn't even keep nor were we driving. We have burned through leave and spent nights and weekends dealing with this. We are now down a car thanks to this dealership. We had to file a BBB complaint, a complaint with the state, and the FTC. Next step is an attorney. The company advised in Jan that VW would remove all the hard hits to our credit so we could go get a car elsewhere. They advised it could take 30-60 days to show. Its well past that and now they won't even respond when I try to contact them. Save the headache, look at Volvo, Benz, BMW or whatever you like, just run from Audi and VW especially at this dumpster fire of a dealership. read more

All I can say is I wished there is another Volkswagen dealer/service station close by. There is no point in making an appointment, the car sits there and we have to deal with driving kids to work and back, among other things. Nothing seems to be clear in what needs to be done, and does it really get done? I usually give good reviews, but I have had it with this company. Pete Moore would be very sad to know this, unfortunately, he left way too soon. If this happens again I will turn to his daughter who took over the business. Third day of a car sitting there but had an appointment, made long in advance, and only today being looked at and serviced. It's not the first time. This review is for the Service Department. Brought my Outlander here for an oil change and also decided to get the front brakes done. Cody was the customer associate and he was very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. It took a few hours, which was to be expected, and they even washed my car. Made an appointment online to get my brakes fixed, got a call in the morning to tell me to just drop my car off and they will call me Monday when I can pick it up. I understand that it's New Year's Eve (Thursday) but why would I not be able to get my car until Monday? Wasn't even asked if that was okay was just told to drop my keys in the drop box. I'll pass and go somewhere else to get my brakes fixed. The way they explained it over the phone when getting a quote didn't make sense either. Used to be okay. But let me tell you how I arrived at 1 star. Bad experience. Sleazy and greedy customer service. And extremely rude comments. 1. One of my most recent visits ... Went in for 50,000 service and asked for a quote. The girl attending said it was "a standard charge for 50,000". I explained what the standard service used to be and she said "oh well I think this is more". I had to wait awkwardly while she researched it. She came back with just a number and no detail. I asked her if she could provide detail on what would happen in that quote. She said "it's just the standard 50,000 service we provide". Again I explained what usually happens and asked what's different. She said there was no tire rotation included this time (even though it was higher) and offered no more information. After I pressed she said I could get the information once I checked out. What the heck is wrong with this picture? So after check out I wasn't given any more detail and I had to ask the payment window a couple of times for a copy of the service that took place. Horrible. 2. On a previous routine visit I was minding my own business in the waiting area which was crowded. Several people in waiting were of older age. A service member (not the one serving me) with brown blonde hair walked in after most of that party left and loudly exclaimed "oh great! It's going to smell like old people all day now!" for his peers to hear. Disgusted. So after a couple of bad experiences I have to say this is bad and unfortunately Pensacola is a bad place to live because of awful people so good luck finding an alternative. This was by far the worst maintenance department I have ever dealt with. I went in for a simple oil change yesterday, 12/09/2022. I was there for nearly 4 hours before being told there had been a problem with my car and that they had over filled the oil in my car to the point to where it had over flowed into my spark plugs. And then they attempted to start my car with it like this. After draining everything out and taking the spark plugs out they wouldn't allow me to get a loaner vehicle so that I could get a claims adjuster to come look at my car. Hi , I Bought a 2015 outlander brand new from the dealership last year ...the a/c just stopped working ...I bring it in to get serviced ...and three days later I'm still waiting on parts to be ordered with no ETA available for when they will come in ...I am an active duty service member in the United States Navy and my husband is also , he is currently stationed in San Diego while my orders brought me to Pensacola Florida ...I am alone with our 2 children and I need to drive them to and from daycare and drive myself to and from work ...I asked about a loaner car so I can have a way to work and to and from daycare with my children ..and I was basically told that it was my problem to figure out .... I can't believe this is how you treat your customers , I'm basically left stranded until further notice waiting on these parts to come in with no ETA in sight . read more

Brought my car in for a check engine light. Turned out the problem was covered by an extended warranty (vw warranty for a faulty intake manifold...nothing I purchased) and even though I was a couple hundred miles over they were willing to stretch the warranty for me. I had a similar issue at a Toyota dealer..75 miles over warranty and they wanted to charge me full price...Even laughed about it. Anyway, these guys got my car in the same day to start work right away! caught me by complete surprise. I needed my car so I was at a dilemma...o, what's that? free shuttle service and discounted rental cars? hell yes! they warned me about another service my car might need but they wouldn't knew until they cracked open the intake. I thought to myself this must be where they're going to hit me with some insane decarbinization fee for 500 bucks or something...but no. Turned out I didn't need it so they aren't doing it. they did find another recall as well as another fault code for me for no diagnostic fee. they are fixing the recall for free and fixing my a/c fan for the cost of the part only (no labor since they already have everything apart!) I can't speak too much about their sales side as I didn't buy my car there. I did take a friend there last week to shop around. salesman (gary) was very patient and not at all pushy. my friend had fairly unrealistic expectations and gary bent over backwards to help him out knowing up front that pete moore was our first stop and we wouldn't be buying anything that day. my only gripe is that they don't prices or mileage on any of their used cars. gary was able to recall the info from memory on almost every car on the lot but I like being able to walk around and see if there's anything I'm interested in that's at least in my ballpark service department is rockin it though. first dealership I've ever been impressed with. they saved me well over a grand today from the research i'd done. read more

I went in to get an alignment on my 2005 Chrysler 300 with 58,000 miles on it at Pete Moore Volkswagen. It was taken right back, but about an hour later the service advisor came and told me the car will still pull just like it did before because it needed RF Inner and LF Outer tie rod ends and two new front tires.Then told me that I could go to the cashier to pay for the alignment. First of all, why did I have to pay for an alignment when the car is not aligned? OK, maybe tried to do an alignment (even though they shouldn't have because they were suppose to "Check steering, suspension and shocks. Check tie-rods and ball joints. Check tire pressure and inspect tires for cuts, damage, and uneven wear." Every other place I have been in the last 40 years would not do an alignment on a car that needed something done for the alignment to be effective. read more

I have had a Very Positive Experience at Pete Moore Service Dept "Johnny Ramsey" I walked in about 11:30 on a Monday with a speed sensor issue with my VW they were extremely busy in their service Dept but still was able to fix my car with less cost and time than expected. Brought my Touareg V-10 TDI. I put gas from a GREEN colored gas pump handle (from BP) which was Regular gas and not Diesel, as they are in every other gas station in America. I'll NEVER buy gas (for my other vehicles) in a BP ever again... But I digress. They were able to drain my tank and replace my fuel filter and put fresh diesel. I heard it cranking so it should be done soon. I drafted this some time ago and never finished. They are the BEST! I was rolling out by noon, on my way back to Orlando. Highly recommend this place. I thought my mistake would be in the thousands but just cost me $250.00. I was please with the service and their amenities. read more

A/C Issue. Was scheduled to drop my car on Tuesday morning at 8:30 and pick it up later in the day. Got to the dealership and was told that they would need it at least 2 days but probably 3. When I asked him why he said "we already have others scheduled, so we have to work these in when we have time" I had an appointment. I didn't just show up and expect them to jump on it. Pete Moore's maintenance staff provided an excellent experience compared to their local competition. The staff gave much more frequent updates on progress with my vehicle and more accurate time estimates. When the repair was complete the maintenance manager introduced me to the mechanic and had him explain my problems. Unlike the other dealer where I was told my tires were balanced (Pete Moore's technician's found no weights on the wheels) they let me drive my car to verify the vibrations had been fixed. Glad to find a trustworthy dealer in the area, even if it takes a 45 minute drive! read more

I brought our $27,000 car in to Pete Moore for repair work and not only did they get paid for a repair that they ultimately did not do but they did nearly $5,000 in damage to the car as well When Pete Moore himself was contacted his answer was "OK, we just won't work on the car any more". In May of 2015, I had Pete Moore Imports in Pensacola, FL do some recommended maintenance on my 2004 Volkswagen Passat, which included my timing belt system, water pump, and some sensors that needed to be replaced. The cost of the repairs totaled close to $1800.00. A few months later my serpentine belt frayed off of the vehicle (which is supposed to be an easy fix) but after replacing the belt myself I couldn't get the car to crank over, so I had the vehicle towed to Pete Moore Volkswagen for inspection. After they looked at the car, a service tech called me to tell me that the reason why my car wouldn't crank over is because I had a missing timing belt cover/guard, and when the serpentine belt frayed off and broke, it wrapped around my crank shaft pulley and it pretty much destroyed my engine. I was told that they knew the timing cover was there when they had the vehicle and did the timing system because they wouldn't have been able to do the job without this cover (because of the markings on the cover). They also noticed that I had a new alternator put on recently and when I was asked who did the installation, I said it was a local mechanic shop, and the way he asked his questions lead me to believe that they were the last people to touch this missing cover, so the fault was on them. When I called my local mechanic shop with my issue, they were very helpful but they said that they had nothing to do with the missing timing cover and they proved this by giving me a print out schematic that showed me where the alternator is in relation to the missing cover, and they explained why they had no reason to touch the cover when installing the new alternator. This brought me back to Pete Moore as the last people to touch the missing timing cover since the cover is directly linked to the service they provided on the timing belt system. After talking to Pete Moore Imports about my findings, the service tech then talked to his supervisors and came back saying that there was nothing they can do for me. I then contacted Volkswagen Customer Care and filed a complaint with the corporate office but was still unable to get Pete Moore Imports to admit fault for the missing cover. They denied me any kind of compensation for the destroyed engine and claimed that their insurance told them that since the broken serpentine belt is what caused the issue, the fault would go to the local mechanic shop because they installed the faulty belt when they replaced the alternator, and that this is what caused the issue. This made absolutely no sense to me because if it was just a broken belt that caused the issue, then my engine wouldn't have been destroyed. THE CORE REASON FOR WHY MY ENGINE WAS DESTROYED IS THE MISSING TIMING BELT COVER/GUARD THAT WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT THIS TYPE OF THING FROM HAPPENING. If the plate was there, then none of this would of happened the way that it did when the serpentine belt frayed off, and the cover would have done its job by protecting my crank shaft pulley. If they knew that the cover was there when they did the job then where is the cover? And if (by chance) the cover was never there in the first place, then how did they do the timing job and why didn't they report this necessary part as missing? Pete Moore Imports has been stretching this complaint out for too long, and has been using every loop hole they can think of so they don't have to pay for their mistake. I leased my first car here and I regret it the second year of having this car. The car had many problems and it took them twice amount of time to fix the problems. Not to mention they had my car for a week and the next day I checked the vehicle on the outside there were paint scratches on passenger door. It was to late since it was on a Saturday. Talked to Jay the service guy in the department and he said we got the touch up paint ready for you. I said okay I'll get it once I'm up there,he told me we can't apply this to your car you would have to do it yourself. I had to push their buttons to fix my car and this is the last straw I have with this dealership. My mom wanted to buy a new vehicle from here, they say they will keep the vehicle for a day or two, but they lied and sold the car to someone else. They lie about the scratch on the door on my car and this other incident. DON'T BUY OR LEASE HERE, The frustrations is unbelievable on my end and I'm glad I'm not coming back here ever again for a new car. I would go to a different location.
