I got three loaves of the poppyseed, lemon bread, three chocolate chunk, banana bread, coffee cake, two breakfast sandwiches and three chocolate croissants. $64 + $19.50 The croissant loaf looks interesting, it' comprises of six croissant dough to make the loaf. The breakfast sandwich biscuit is quite good. The biscuit is a bit dry, but still flaky. The egg is light and fluffy and thick too. The coffee cake, lemon poppy seed, breakfast sandwich and chocolate croissant were all yummy. The lemon iced frosting is prominent and good. Not a huge fan of the nuts. The chocolate croissant is really good. Chunky blocks of chocolate. The croissant is super light and flaky. The Coffee cake is crumbly, slightly dry, but great with tea or coffee. You'll find lots of phyllo dough and pistachios in Princes' sweets, but there is one pastry that looks and tastes much like one that I buy at the Indian sweet shops on Devon in Chicago. The Indian version is made from chick peas; I have been told. Yet, the sweet maker at Princes' says that his version is made from flour. What kind of flour? I have no idea! The crispy yet syrupy sweet is, nevertheless, delectable! The last time I was in, the sweet maker was especially polite and helpful as he introduced my friend from out of town to the flavors of the Chaldean culture. He kept offering her samples of this and that, and he told her stories about the photographs on the wall of the shop. It was a special and memorable experience. I love this bakery, and I hope it remains in our neighborhood forever and ever.
