We both tried the steak tacos from the appetizer list. Our favorite white wine was available. We received warm bread (which doesn't happen when you order an appetizer for your meal). Perfect warm bread. As a meat snob, the steak in the tacos was perfectly seasoned. The sauce was just right, and the side of peppers went well. The service and ambiance were amazing. They topped it off with two warm cookies. I feel like they thought I was a food critic. Normally, I don't write reviews. We will be back.

This is my second time coming to get the sirloin steak special on Wednesday. I think they have redone the place. It looked like they had New chair, chairs and table tables and I think the carpet was even new. They had a black theme going on which I thought made it feel like a little bit more of an upscale steakhouse, but still with the country charm. Our server with so sweet and took care of us very well. She came back to check on us often and was very helpful explaining things on the menu. We all ended up ordering the sirloin steak. You can choose the side of your choice . Our sides varied a little bit because my one friend can't have gluten, so she ended up ordering the baked potato. they were very accommodating and understood about needing to be careful with even the steak as they cooked it, to keep everything gluten-free. My other friend and I got the potato casserole. It was pretty good, but I wished I would've gotten the potato because I love a good baked potato with my steak. The sirloin steak was a great size and mine was done to perfection. It was a little tough in spots, but that is to be expected with sirloin. The flavor was fabulous, though. We had a nice corner table with a view out the window. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and it wasn't too loud. They have a huge dining area so we didn't have to worry about if we were going to get a table or not. I want to come back and try some of their other specials. Check out their website, it tells about each special that they have Monday through Friday and Saturday night they have prime rib! Round the Bend Steakhouse is definitely worth the drive, especially if you want to get out of the city and enjoy a nice little drive in the country. Mahoney State Park is close. Also, the Air Museum is by Mahoney. And Ashland has so many cool shops and a winery and a brewery.

The inside is a really cool place to grab some drinks and food. It definitely gets busy but they usually have parking available somewhere. The first time we went, it was really hot out and we decided to sit at the bar which borders both the outdoor area and the inside. Needless to say, we picked the wrong place to sit because it was soooo hot. Not their fault, but we should have sat somewhere else. The second time we went we sat inside and was much more comfortable. The food and drinks have been really good both times we went. All in all, this is a really cool place and we'll definitely be going back in the future.

We decided to sit at the bar inside. It was so nice enjoying the summer air, but not being directly in the sun. My husband got this amazing appetizer protein 'board' for his meal. I got an ABC smash burger that was absolutely amazing. Their ranch...chef's kiss. I'm a HUGE ranch snob and I could just drink that shit. The woman who took care of us at the bar was awesome. She even gave my husband some great suggestions for his beer. (He had a pickle beer with Bloody Mary mix in it. Sounds gross to me but he LOVED it!) I'll definitely be back if we're in the area again. I'd like to bring my brother and his wife who live in Omaha.

First off, the restaurant that advertises and promotes "gourmet coffee " and breakfast doesn't open during peak summer hours until 9am!! Not good. Secondly, when the restaurant actually did finally open at 9am in peak summer season in July on a weekend, the cashier confronted me after I purchased their coffee but found a different cup lid from their lobby coffee machine because she didn't stock the coffee lids in their restaurant and implied I was "violating state regulations " entering back into the restaurant after obtaining a simple coffee lid from the lodge lobby coffee station. Anyway, very unpleasant experience with this particular cashier on Saturday July 26th, 9am She shouldn't be working with the public.

We went for lunch and it appeared as though they were only running two waitresses and based on the time it took for tables to be served, I would guess one person in the kitchen. A fair lunch crowd, but only about 10-12 tables. The salad bar wasn't anything special but was the best part of our experience. I ordered fish and chips and I would guess they were pre-packaged breaded fillets. Overdone and oily. Won't be going back until there is a new provider in the restaurant. Too bad. Maybe it's not possible to be good enough to flourish at this location.
