We arrived at a very busy time on a Wednesday night. We had to drive around 4 times to find a parking spot, but we were happy we did. Inside, we were seated right away. The menu is extensive, making decisions difficult. Ended up with 2 burgers, one turkey, one vegetarian. Both delicious. Their fries are some of the best we have ever had. After last weeks snow storm and a few hours of sleigh riding my wife and I wanted to take the kids out to eat. We decided on Peter Pan diner in Bayshore . We haven't been there in awhile so off went. It was about 6:00 pm and the parking lot was full as usual. As soon as we went in the hostess greeted us with a big smile and a welcome to PPD . We were quickly seated and a waitress came over right away. She asked how we were all doing and proceeded to take our order. It was very busy and we weren't the only table she had. We were a family of 5 including 2 growing boys and a 16 month baby girl. While we briefly waited for our food we noticed the nice renovations that had been done. (Not that the diner needed any from memory) but it was a nice change. For the couple of hours we were there we had a great time , our waitress was polite, professional and courteous .Especially when it came to the baby ( very careful with all of the hot plates) So if you and your family are looking for a great place to eat with great food and reasonable prices look no further then the Peter Pan Diner. read more

Just got home from our hometown go to diner. Feel horrible. The young girl running the cash register tonight was very rude. I had a 10% off purchase coupon directly from there website with the owners face on a mock up of 100 dollar bill. I dined with my two kids and my wife. Total bill being $58.10. I showed her the coupon and she put in computer and it dropped the total to $57.43. I said to her "that's 10%?, should be $5.81 off the bill if my math is correct.". She said with a nasty attitude, "no, that's 10%." and said "next" to the customer behind me. So not feeling right about it i questioned her again on it. And she said "i put it in the computer and that's what it gave me." So i left because i was holding my daughter in my arms. I know it's only a few bucks, but it's the principal! i spend a lot of money every year with my family at the diner and now unfortunately after this experience i will never be going back here again. We came for lunch. We were a larger party, and the waitress was a bit flustered. but the food was excellent. I'm not much of a fish lover, but I was very happy with my Hawaiian tilapia, moist and flaky fish served with a mild pineapple salsa. Rice pudding was creamy but not cloyingly sweet. As I said in my past reviews Peter Pan Diner has the best gyro and Roman Holiday on the island!! I always order them whether it's when I go there or lately it's been delivery. Tonight I got a delivery again my gyro but they charged me for fries which I got fries with the gyro not the rice. When I called up to question why I was charged $5.19 for fries when they already came with the gyro the cashier was very lovely, she said hold on let me talk to my manager. The manager came on the phone she looked up my order spoke with the person who took my order and realize that yes there was a mistake I should not have been charged for the fries she was very very accommodating. She offered to reimburse me next time I came in with either a dessert or appetizer or a gift card which I told her no I just wanted to make sure there's no misunderstanding you could take the $5 and put it into the tip jar that's not what I'm looking for I just wanted to make sure next time I order that I'm not going to be charged for the fries. Very very good customer service this is why I will continue to go to Peter Pan Diner. read more

First time at this diner. You probably think that all diners are the same but let me tell you this one was better. Our server was Michael and he was on point with everything. Went to Peter Pan for breakfast at 11am on a Tuesday and ordered poached eggs and a side order of fries, my daughter ordered a cheese omelette. We waited 25 minutes for the food to come out and the poached eggs were hard boiled they gave me about 10 fries in a little monkey dish when I ordered a side order and when I told the waitress that the eggs were over cooked she said that they were poached and what else did I want her to do. I then asked her what happened to my side order of fries and she responded they'll make more and bring them to me. While she brought my food back in the kitchen to be recooked my daughter started to eat her omelette which was so cold that the cheese had hardened, at this point we called over the hostess and let her know what had taken place and that we were leaving and she took the omelette to the cashier and explained what had happened and the cashier spoke to the waitress and then proceeded to charge me almost $7.00 for a chocolate milk and coke that still was on the table untouched. I have been going to this diner for over 30 years and I can assure you that we will not patronize Peter Pan again. When we left we went to the other diner in Bay Shore the food and service was amazing and much cheaper than Peter Pan. read more

I went to the Peter Pan Diner today with a friend for lunch today. We decided to order off of the lunch special menu. The menu says the lunch special includes soup, dessert, coffee or tea. I ordered the Jr. Chef salad for $12.49, my friend ordered the hamburger special for $14.69 but she asked for bacon on it so they charged her $15.98. We had our meal, which was good. The waittress was very friendly and we left an $8 tip. Upon receipt of the bill it stated an extra $2 for a complete lunch. So I read the whole page of the menu lunch specials and no where does it say you would pay an additional $2 for a lunch special. All it says is that the lunch special includes soup,dessert, coffee or tea with your meal. I even took a photo of the page with my phone and examined the page. I took the receipt to the cashier and questioned it. She had the waittress and manager come over. They were insistant that I ordered extra (the soup and dessert, I did not order coffee, I paid for a coke). I said where on the menu does it say you have to pay an extra $2 for a complete lunch, only says what you get with a lunch special- the soup, dessert coffee or tea. The manager was extremely rude, insisting I was wrong. That computer adds in the complete lunch. He said he does not need the $2, that he feeds the homeless, yada yada yada. Now I know where he gets the money to feed the homeless. He rips people off $2 for each luncheon special( maybe even the dinner specials). I do think it's wonderful that this business feeds the needy but this business should not be ripping off their customers. And especially treat them so rudely. I will never go back to this diner. A diner that I go to often and have for over 35 years. My one star rating is solely for customer service by the manager because the food was ok. read more

i was very pleased with my waitress she was wonderful!!!!! i was there with my husband and our 2 friends . we were sitting for maybe a minute and she came over and introduced herself and said can i get you something to drink besides water...she recommended i should try there mocha blast...she was right it was very delicious.... i had my drinks with in minutes she is fast and very friendly it was a busy day it was memorial day it was a busy monday for everyone there i was surprised how well she handled herself with all the tables she had she kept her cool and was pleasant to all her tables and had a smile on her face and so did the other staff they all seem to get along great and work together well as a team that's the way it should be. i had the texas smoke grilled which she also recommended. it was excellent and she also said the had great sweet potato fries that everyone loves..she gave me excellent services and i found my # 1 diner on long island!!!!! i hope i get her as my waitress again...thanks again for your hospitality...i recommended this place to all my friends now!!!! keep up the good work my waitress allison and all the staff!!!!! you made my visit very pleasurable... read more
