I've been coming to Peter Woo's for about 20 years. This place is Chinese food perfection. Not pretentious. Big personalities. Great menu. Inexpensive. Just moved to the area and I tried a bunch of the new local restaurants. Peter woos has great Chinese food. Dinned in and did take out. Both were great experiences. Only thing I could maybe change is when you order take out, one of the guys that picks up the phone makes you feel super awkward for ordering but that's no reason not to order!!! read more

I have been here three times since my move to Revere last summer and EVERY time the owner or manager or whoever is up front was terse at best, rude at worst! BUT the dealbreaker came on Christmas when I arrived from the movies to get take out with about 10 other people, being Jewish, we figured Chinese on Christmas was a must! I totally understand that it would take time to do each of our to go orders and we were patient but he was just a BITCH! Totally rude and surly and no food is worth such a bad attitude (VERY average food anyway) that I feel he LITERALLY ruined Christmas (which being Jewish, I really did not hold in super high regard, but STILL, lol)! He actually scared my one friend so much that she did not even go back when in the car she noted he skipped her ENTIRE order of scallion pancakes because when she asked for a fortune cookie he looked her up and down (she is chubby) and said "REALLY?" Over an hour for delivery is lame all on its own. When the food lacks flavor and the staff is surly (in the non endearing way) it's a rough combination. Plus, even the food labeled as spicy was bland. Only flavor was the sugary sweet sauces. Not worth it. read more

OWNER IS ARROGANT. Myself and two friends walked in the restaurant at 12:15 finally at 12:33 the waiter came over.. He tells us last call was 12:30. I explained to him we were sitting there since 12:15. He apologized and took our order. Now another 5 minutes goes by and the rude unprofessional OWNER Betsy came over and informed us last call was at 12:30.. which we were already aware of. We proceeded to explain to her we have been sitting there for 20 minutes and she was in denial. I continued to explain myself because I was hungry & my order was already taken... SHE THEN CHASED ME OUTSIDE AND SAID "GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU LITTLE FUCKER" ... Coming from a 21 year old, this was very UNPROFESSIONAL & inappropriate. My family comes to this restaurant often and they don't get treated like shit.... But this Betsy lady must of been having a bad night and took it out on me. Immature, inappropriate & ignorant. Hot and sour soup was very good, as was egg rolls, spare ribs and pork strips were really moist. We got a shrimp dish which lacked flavor, but overall was very good. I will go back! read more

If you want more food for your money go to Great Chef in East Boston. If you order salt and pepper shirmp it's $17 for 8 piece shirmp and vegetables that make the container pretty. For $17 you can buy the whole bag 20+ shirmps. Small portion is kiddie portion. This place use to be good, greed has changed it. Dont waste your money. read more

Good food, great prices. More of a takeout place, they have a bar and some seating but its a small cramped building. Be sure to ask for utensils included though since they tend to forget them. The old guy who works there (I'm guessing the owner? Has to be if he hasn't been fired yet) can also be extremely rude both on the phone and in person, especially after he's been drinking. read more

The worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant... the owner was rude and racist towards a guest of my party not once but twice.. insisted we make a takeout order instead of dinning in to seat her regular customers first. When asked if we could get a drink menu her response was " we're not serving people standing up" when clearly she had served the party next to us who were standing up. read more

My wife and I ordered takeout from Peter Woo's. The atmosphere of this restaurant was good. Nice lighting and clean. The staff is quite friendly and personable. They had only 6 tables in the place, so it isn't very big or noisy compared to our usual spot. They have a nice bar and TVs above. Unfortunately, comparing it to what we are used to for Chinese food, I think the food was a bit bland. My wife agreed. We ordered a happy family and it was very bland and had no flavor. I had General Gau (they spell it wrong here in Massachusetts for who knows what reason) chicken and it was spicy enough but still lacked flavor. I think we'll be sticking to our usual place in Chelsea. It should be noted that this place is known for having the best Chinese food in Revere. This makes me sad for Revere. read more

I lived in Chelsea for a year and a half. I was told about Peter Woo's and it was highly touted. I went by myself the first time and I agree, the service was not superb. The food however, was fantastic. I went again with a friend who was a regular there and was introduced to Peter and other waitstaff. I am no big spender and certainly no big deal, but they remembered me, my drink and what I liked to eat everytime since. I love the small bar, the constant sports, and saltwater fishtank. This place has the luxury of surviving off of regular happy customers and maybe that has lent itself to service that some might find abrupt and unfriendly. I recommend introducing yourself and your party to whomever your server is, the food will bring you back and the service will become quaint and personal. Ancient Chinese Secret :) read more

Overpriced for Chinese take out. I ordered the pepper beef w/ onion and green peppers and and it came in a watery, diluted sauce, thus, tasting like nothing. It was their "dinner special" yet it came in a small portion and you had to pay extra if you wanted an appetizer with it. read more

I've been enjoying this place with the homies for awhile. The best things to try out are the spicy chicken wings, fried wontons, and fog cutters. This is the only place in Revere that has great Chinese food. The service is great from Tony or Gene. I highly recommend this place. read more

The chicken wings and beef teriyaki were both well seasoned but were overcooked and hard to chew. The sesame chicken was quite bland. Sesame chicken, in most restaurants, has a sweet sauce on it.This sauce had no sweetness to it at all. The chicken tempura, shrimp tempura and spare ribs were basic run of the mill but decent. The pineapple chicken: The chicken itself was gross. I took one bite and it tasted like a wet dog smells. Absolutely inedible. Thankfully, the pineapple sauce came in a container on the side. It was delicious and sweet, so I poured it over my sesame chicken which saved it's life and my appetite. I will never order from this place again. According to the good reviews that some people have given this place, they do not make good food, consistently. Otherwise there would be no good reviews, based on the meal that I ordered from this place. If you want to try this place, apparently it's a gamble, so good luck. You're gonna need it. read more

Unfortunately peter woos has lost a loyal customer due to the rude woman who works here. (im assuming the owners wife). Our delivery was over and hour late when we live less than a mile away. We called after an hour to ask about our order and they finally said it was on the way. We asked what was taking so long and they said "traffic". We placed the order at 11 p.m. I find it hard to believe that there is traffic at that time. Once the food arrived it was the wrong order from what we usually get and the food was cold. We called back to complain, which we hardly do and got the pleasant woman on the phone. She told us straight up that she "didn't need our shit" and to "write whatever we want on yelp about her". So here I am letting everyone know what a horrible person she is and that she should no longer be in this kind of industry if thats how she wants to treat her customers. I will stay away from this place from now on and look for Chinese food elsewhere where I will be treated with respect. read more

I have been going to Peter Woos for years, this former owner of The August Moon many years ago really is a master at his craft. The food is great the place is a nice small intimate environment. It has a stocked bar with bartender Tony who knows how to make all your classic Asian drinks you find at bigger chains. its quiet and a nice little Asian atmosphere. about 7-10 tables and there is some sport playing on the TV at any given moment. My favorite is Peters Pork fried rice he has the best teriyaki this side of china and I love his Chicken chow mein and egg rolls the lobster sauce is your classic ground beef with an Asian sauce absolutely deelish the scallion pancakes are great and tasty. Peter is a great guy with an awesome low key laid back personality. I'm allergic to shellfish, but people tell me his Crap Rangoon and shrimp are excellent. The service is good and the staff is not huge on personality, but i go there for the food. I have plenty of friends. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice cozy place to eat or hang for a drink. read more
