Overall our experience was excellent! Great food, good service. The descriptions on the menu are very limited so be sure to ask your server for a detailed explanation of the dish you plan to choose. I just enjoyed the best meal I have ever eaten in Fells Point - maybe in all of Baltimore. After reading about Peter's Inn for the last year or so, I finally made it there and the reviews were spot on! This place is off the hook!! I chose the lamb chop with a parsnip ravioli. AMAZING. Great story for a great restaurant...ok, my wife and I (newlyweds) were up in B'Mo for the fun festival ( we're set for Oct 4 but a mean hurricane ruined that ). We were in Robert McClintok's gallery and saw a painting of Peter's Inn and thought it would look good in my our kitchen or Peter's kitchen(also my name). Susan the artist's wife said "go up to Anne St and check it out" so we decide to walk there and have a drink then decide to buy the painting and it 's closed. But the painting was an exact match to real life right down to the ash can, by the left bottom step. We decided (after our pup crawl) to go back and have dinner. We got the last table! The lamb chops chops w/ parsnips, along with a nice vintage Malbec, well ambrosia comes to mind! Perfect atmosphere,fun dinner guests, the staff just on top of their game. Foodies you must go! The waiter dismissed us as soon as we indicated we didn't want alcohol. The service didn't change when we decided to order a bottle of wine. My father's food came after everyone else had eaten and the other three plates were missing ingredients. Besides lying about when the state of the order, the waiter told us it wasn't his fault, "he was very busy and had 11 tables" and couldn't understand why we weren't pleased. We had two former waiters at the table who worked everywhere from fastfood to very fine dining and who are more than understanding when someone is in the weeds, but this was so bad that even they were appalled. The bartender seemed nice though and was helping out. We were told it was the owners nite off so that might help explain the state of affairs. Regardless, there are many more restaurants at this price point that give great service and have yummy food. read more

The food was very good when we finally got it but the service was poor. We arrived an hour before dinner service began. We had drinks placed our order just before service began. It took 40 minutes for our appetizer to arrive and another 45 minutes for our entre to arrive. When we expressed our concerns the waite staff was very surely about the situation. Yes, they comp our drinks but their only excuse was that they only had 2 cooks in the kitchen. Yet people that arrived after us were being given their desserts before we got our main entres. read more

Let me start by saying that this review is based primarily on the customer services by the tattooed female bartender. My boyfriend and I stopped in to Peter's for the first time on a Friday night. We sat at the bar, ordered two entrees and for a beverage, I ordered water. In front of me, there were a variety of drink complements i.e., lemons, limes, cucumber spears, etc. I asked the bartender what she used the cucumbers for and she replied "any drink". I asked for one for my water and she took her bare hands and picked out a spear (they were in a glass) then proceeded to flip it into her other hand, so she grabbed handled the other end of my cucumber and placed it in my drink. Needless to say, I never took a drink of water the entire time I was there. Maybe it's not a big deal to most, but I just thought it was gross and completely unnecessary to handle something was going into my water with her hands. Yes, maybe she cut them all up with her bare hands prior to my arrival, but still...it's just not a good look. On top of that, the food was just not that memorable for me to return. To be fair, It definitely wasn't bad, but the whole experience was just a bad impression for me, plus the bartender wasn't even friendly so based on the overall, I'll pass. read more

After hearing great reviews about this place, I was highly anticipating my visit. Unfortunately, poor service and average food led to a disappointing experience. I came here with two friends after 8pm for dinner on a weeknight. We had to wait a while for a table (in the crowded eating area). Then, we had to wait quite a while(15-20 minutes) for the server to give up menus and tell us the options that were still available (a significant portion, perhaps 25% of the options, weren't available). And then we had to wait to place our orders. Upon arrival, the garlic bread that we split was hot, plentiful, fresh, and very flavorful. Although I enjoyed it, paying $8-9 for garlic bread seems rather pricey. My tuna nachos were ok, but the nachos were stale & not crispy, detracting from the experience. I did enjoy the filled avocado half that came with the dish. The tuna nachos were fine overall, just not noteworthy. Finally, the aspect that was most frustrating, was trying to pay the bill. We had to wait probably 20-30 minutes just to receive our check (waited to have someone come despite our multiple efforts to flag someone down, and then waited to actually get the check). My friend had to work an evening shift that night and had to leave before our check came so she could make it to work on time. For a restaurant with price points like Peter's Inn, I definitely expected semi-decent service rather than the massive wait-fest that we got (especially for a non-peak time, non-weekend dinner). The food quality didn't do anything to compensate for the poor service. read more

A good friend recommended Peter's Inn so I had been looking forward to going. While the food was as advertised - incredible, service left a lot to be desired. We decided to sit at the bar, and this particular bartender was not too friendly; nor was he the least bit apologetic when it took 45 minutes to get us a simple appetizer - a mozzarella salad and garlic bread dish. For dinner, I had the veal and my friend had the filet - both cooked to perfection. An appetizer, dinner, a few drinks came to just over $100 (par for the course) and he didn't really acknowledge us or say a simple 'sorry it took a while to get the food out'. Maybe it was my weak attempt at humor (wanted to order the rainbow trout. When Mr. Bartender said they had sold out, my response was 'looks like you might need to dust off your fishing pole'). Bottom line: I will go back, but if this particular bartender is working, I'm going with Plan B. I would easily have given Peter's Inn a 4 or 5 had the service been better. read more

I am a local resident of Fells Point that was revisiting Peter's Inn after several years. What was once one of what my favors places on Fell's point is no longer. We arrived in plenty of time before the dinner seating at 6:30 and had put our order in by 6:40. At 7:20 we finally got our appetizer. Our main courses were both fish, which should have arrived quickly. We decided to cancel our main dishes once we noticed that several other patrons who arrived after us were served not only their 1st course but 2nd as well, including beef which usually takes longer. I'm not sure why we were ignored during our experience but do know that both owners were well within eye shot and earshot of our table and did nothing to resolve their staff's slow delivery. If you happen to be part of their click, then enjoy eating there, otherwise there are many other better places in Fells Point to drop $100 on a Wed night. read more

I have been going to Peter's Inn since 2001. It was, for most of that time, a superb neighborhood bar that had killer food and didn't shrivel your wallet. This is where I brought out of town guests. I told people, unequivocally, that Peter's Inn had the best scallops in town. And despite all this praise, I will not be going back. The past few years have seen a decrease in quality, conception and execution of menu items coupled with an increase in prices. I am prepared to pay out the nose for amazing food. but worse food for more money is a terribly frustrating combination. So, strike one...the portions of lesser quality food are smaller and the prices are higher. While we were gathering ourselves to leave this past Friday evening, our server came to us and lamented the fact that there was no space at the bar, but would we kindly leave to as people were waiting. I fully understand wanting to turn tables, being in the restaurant business myself, but sweeping customers out the door is awful and rude and will keep this customer from returning. Finally, when our server attempted to "split" our check on two credit cards, he simply charged the same card two different amounts. Come on, man!! At least pretend to care! The fact that Peter's Inn gets so crowded speaks much more to the lack of dining choices in Baltimore than any excellence on the part of Peter's Inn. Boo, Peter's Inn, Boo! My husband and I took our friends from Virginia to Peter's on Saturday night because we had raved about the foot. We are from Harrisburg, PA. So so disappointed. Hope that the owner's read these reviews, otherwise all for naught. Where was the salad and garlic bread with the entree. Told that they had not done this in quite a while. We were in two months ago. Sorry that this establishment has gotten so greedy for $$$$ that they now charge for the salad and garlic bread in addition to the entree. I ordered the Filet Medium rare expecting it to be as always, superb. Raw. I think it was actually still mooing. We have been going to this restaurant for 10-12 years and always have received great service and great food but alas, it must stop. Overpriced, small amounts. and wait staff not really caring. Well, why should they? They have a waiting line for tables and want to get you in and out as quick as possible. Note to the owner and his wife!!!! Unfortunately we will not be back and we will miss you but our wallets will not. What happened to the small restaurant with the great food and good portions and courtesy wait staff. My friend and I heard fantastic things about this place and really looked forward to dinner. I didn't eat much all day b/c I knew it was going to be good. We got there at 6:30 to have a meal before a play we had tickets for a block away that started at 8 pm. The place was busy and we were told it would be an hour to get a table but there were a few seats open at the bar. We sat there and ordered a bottle of wine from the menu but was told they were out of it but another bottle was available that cost another 12 dollars. We decided to order it and clams, soup & garlic bread. Over an hour later, the wine was finished. No one had checked on us, offered bread or crackers and we still had no food. When we asked, we were told it would be out soon and the bottle of wine was on the house. 15 minutes later ,it was 10 minutes til show time so we told the brusque barmaid we had to go. She gave us a bill for $38 without a second look. We left quickly and won't be back. read more
