Tonight was my last attempt at this place. I stopped ordering pizza from them awhile ago because it's way too greasy and the sauce is just blah. Last night leaving the ball field it was convenient to stop in for chicken kabob salads. NEVER again. The iceberg lettuce literally had dirt on it. Asked for feta and there was barely any. The chicken was fatty and the joints were still connected and just gross. $22.66 for two nasty, pitiful salads......save your $$. read more

Just called in an order from Pete's a place and it took almost an hour and a half for them to deliver it. All we ordered was 2 wraps and it's a 5 minute drive. By the time we got them they were so unbelievably soggy and disgusting. I will never order from them again. read more

Bleh. How does a restaurant with such a good name make such awful food? They get two stars, instead of one, because delivery was prompt and the food wasn't poisonous. The salad did not taste like produce. It tasted more like paper. Got a ham sub. Was really disappointed. Used to go here a LONG time ago and it was great. Not sure if there are new owners now, but was not very pleased. It tasted like I was eating a veggie sub since there was an incredibly small amount of ham on this sub. Not to mention, it was almost 9 bucks! Since my first review I have ordered a few more items. Chicken wings, a few calzones ( Italian, and White Pete's-A-Calzone), and pizza; all of which were extremely satisfying. The delivery is still super fast, and the staff (phone and delivery) are super friendly and efficient even when I ordered at what sounded like their busy time. read more

This place needs a good review because it's a GREAT place. I eat here regularly and I've always had my order done correctly and the food is always fresh. Very nice young staff. Awesome tuna salad and homemade chicken fingers. Some of the best chicken fingers around! The calzones are also excellent. Their balsamic reduction dressing is amazing too. read more

The wife and I literally go here every week. In fact the delivery guy is at my house so often he noticed when we bought a new car. As far as food goes I am very happy with the place. It isn't gourmet or anything, it is what you would expect from a "sub shop" in your town. And that isn't a bad thing. My wife like the Chicken Parm dinner (leaves enough for leftovers the next day) and my favorites are the Chicken Quesadilla and the pizzas (all are quite good in fact). I can honestly say that we have never gotten anything bad from there. And the Gluten free menu is a nice touch if you know someone with Celiac. Service is good too. Better than most places of it's price. They always say 30-45 minutes for delivery but I normally get it in under 30 minutes. read more

Terrible! I ordered take out from here earlier today. I got a medium Greek spinach pie calzone for almost $15. The size was fine and the crust was pretty good but it was obvious they used the frozen block of chopped spinach in it. It was watery and destroyed the flavor of the feta. It ruined the entire calzone. I can't believe for $15 they couldn't use a fresh spinach. If subway can do it, why can't you? Ordering from here was a mistake, find another pizza place, this place is awful. read more

I've been working in Danvers for over a year and I can say this is the best place for pizza/subs (and thats saying a lot because there is a lot of other options around). Buffalo chicken and honey mustard chicken are both great, high quality chicken and its homemade. The only thing keeping this from five stars is the pizza, its fine but nothing great. read more

I just moved to the area and tried Pete's for the first time. It's very good! Pizza was perfect. Calzones are huge! We got the chicken broccoli alfredo calzone and it tasted like fresh ingredients packed with large pieces of chicken and broccoli. Delish! The only thing I didn't like was the mozzarella sticks. They had a strange flowery taste to them. Will definitely order from here again! read more

We love the pizza at Pete's A Place!!! It's worth the drive for us to enjoy our absolute favorite, the cheeseburger deluxe pizza!! If you have not tried it, it's A MUST!!! We used to use this place as our fallback for nights when cooking wasn't in the plan. Not so much anymore: missing items, other mistakes in an order, underwhelming sandwiches (a large roast beef is large in name only) and "I don't give a bleep attitudes" from most but not all of the staff. This is just speculation but I think that without the little league park across the street these guys would be hard pressed to stay in business. read more

Ordered 2 roast beefs, 2 salads and fries last night. I ordered the food at 8:20 and it did not arrive until 9:30 PM. The reason was because it was the end of the night and the driver didn't want to make extra trips so they waited until just before closing to make their 'last' delivery. SAD, BAD SAD. I'm so disappointed with what was one of my favorite places in town for a quick sandwich. I ordered a cheese steak sub, a steak tip sub and some chicken fingers last night. The order came 30 mins later, I paid and tipped the driver even though I'm charged for delivery. The steak tip sub was so well done and dried out my dog didn't even want it. The cheese steak was so full of grease that it was nearly coming through the bag and just dripped with grease, the roll so soggy it was falling apart. The chicken fingers were so well done and dried out I almost broke a tooth on the first bite. Disgusted I wrapped it up and went to bed hungry. I decided I wanted to voice my complaint so I called Pete's and was told "you should have called last night". Like what difference would that have made? I'm going to take a trip down there during dinner tonight and maybe talk to someone that has a little tact and will correct this situation. It's unfortunate in this day and age that a business will take your money over and over again without a problem but the first time you have a complaint they want to kick you to the curb. Pete's was one of my favorite places, I ate there often, at 20-30$ each order I expected so much more. I hope they make good on it, if they don't I'll take there garbage bag over to the Board of Health and see how they can help. Just had to walk out of here because of the rudest customer service I've ever encountered. We ordered from here on a regular basis, but since they have hired the new, rude employee, we will not be going back. She tried charging us an extra $18 to add steak to our veggie wraps, when the menu clearly states it's an extra $4. When I nicely tried to point it out to her, she threw a tantrum in front of customers and the manager on duty. When I spoke to the manager, he did nothing to rectify the situation. They both said that the $4 on their menu (both to go and menu on the wall) was a mistake. What a joke. Never been treated so rudely in my life. Also, since the new employee has been there, we have called in several orders and they have been wrong every time. We Will not be going back and I will tell everyone I know (and that is a lot of people) not to go there. My pizza was cooked perfectly, with the crust thin and crispy, exactly how I asked for it.

Pete's has one good thing - their calzones. They are very tasty and decently sizes. However - their subs are lacking. Sure, they taste OK, but they use a smaller then average sub roll and the ingredients are scarce. And the staff is - eh. A lady had ordered, got her food, asked for an extra duck sauce; the guy behind the counter asked her for 50 cents. OK - understandable - it cost extra, but she didn't have cash. OK, I reviewed this place once before, so I thought I would give them another shot. I ordered a salad for my wife and I ordered a large steak bomb. My sub was very thin and overcooked. While I was waiting for my food, the gentleman at the pizza oven kept tossing the hot pans in a box on the floor. This was causing people to jump every time. I have lived in Danvers for all 18 years of my life now, and personally have eaten at every establishment at least 50 times each by now. Pete's A Place was among my favorites until a few days ago, and here is why. A few days ago I called in a order for an Italian Sub with everything. I go to pick it up payed got home and opened it up to find a tuna sub. Not a big deal right? Everyone makes mistakes. I called them back and they gave me a credit on the telephone number.(Never got an apology) I went later that night with some friends and used the credit to get a cheese steak sub. They actually asked for the difference in price which surprised me as I know I would never have the nerve to do that. After sitting down at a table they came out with a steak tip sub and asked if anyone had ordered it. It was just us in there at this time and it was obvious they had just made the wrong thing again. After taking it back they complained about me loudly and non discreetly cursing often. When the sub was ready he came over and literally tossed the thing in front of me. As we ate it was near closing 8:45, and one of the employees insisted on sweeping under us even though we were all eating. He hit all of us with the broom several times with a laughing sorry added. He didn't sweep under all the tables so it was pretty evident he was doing it to bother us. So overall cursing + wrong order + no apology ends my review in a no go. They have decent food but until I see these staff members replaced or have a change of attitude I WILL NOT EAT THERE. Management take note. read more

I order for our business on a regular basis. I saw them on Flipping Boston and thought that they must be great! Well, I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Finger Basket. It comes with Fries. The chicken was good, but they put it over the fries which I couldn't even eat. They arrived all soggy. If they somehow separated the two items in the basket, it would save the review. The delivery driver was pleasant and the food arrived in a normal time. I do not think we will order from them again. Too many other shops to choose from. I had high hopes... :( read more
