Pete's Towing has such an amazing staff!! A little under a year ago I used this company on a 2001 Camry I owed previously and had such exceptional service!! I recently needed to tow my 2012 Camry due to a gas plug being stripped. Sure enough Robert P. Came to my rescue!!! Super professional, EXTREMLY carful and observant while getting my "new baby" on his lift. Such an awesome experience concidering the circumstances. My uncle's car was towed by Pete's towing 2 days ago. My uncle is on a fixed income. His complex made an error of having his car towed and my uncle did not have to pay the towing fee.. however.. during the tow, Pete's towing bent the suspension bar and now $390 dollars later it has to be replaced. Pete's towing won't do a darn thing about fixing it claiming it's not their fault. My uncle asked for before pictures of his car before they towed it, and they won't provide any information. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. Honestly, my uncle should turn them in to the better business bureau. Now, I will pay for the effen damage for my uncle because he can't pay it being on a fixed income. I just can't believe this even happened. read more

Terrible business, rude and unprofessional dispatchers. I don't understand how the will steal your vehicle and not return it back to you. The tow my car for no reason at all not once apologized and the lady I spoke to was so rude it not even funny. I explain to her that this is a mistake that you guys made and my car should be return to where you all taken it from. This is my only means for transportation and this inconvenience has made me miss work. Her response was yes it was a mistake but we don't have to bring it back. So what you saying is inconvenience me even more make me spend more money out my pocket, for a mistake on you guys end ok. This is by far the worse tow company Ive ever encountered. Not the truck driver though but the person answering calls around 1 pm on 12/30/2020 she called herself Sarah. She was rude and hanged up on me several times while I was talking and begging her that I speak to the owner. I called Petes towing because as you can see on the pic , the tow guy turn on the parking lights to make the hook up when he placed it on neutral it died then as he reached the destination he unloaded the car and placed it back on parking without putting back the lights on auto or off, he left the car at its destination with the parking lights on until the next day when I accessed the car and seeing the light still on. Of course by now the battery is dead and needing a jump. I called them asking for the jump an told them of their errors the lady reacted right away telling me I bring my issue to my roadside assistance company. I told them this was not an issue to roadside assistance as they have done their part. I needed them to in some way fix the damage they did by at least giving me a jump, with my persitance the lady who called herself Sara hanged up on me. So it seems she wanted me to report them to roadside assistance (A company that gives them business) instead of sending me a quick jump. After she hanged up I called again this time asking to speak to the owner she hangs up again. I called again this time demanding to speak to the owner and again she hangs up. I called one last time that as a consumer its my right to request a supervisor and this time she says the owner is gone on vacation leaving me with no choice but to report their errors to roadside assistance. Roadside assistance told me that my roadside only allows service after 72 hours. They transfered me to claims department for the damage and after showing them pictures they agreed I had grounds for complain and sent a different company to give me a jump. The new company did the jump which took 5 mins and then left. my car started with no problem. Right now Im completing my formal complaint with roadside assistance and Petes towing is facing deletion from their call list. Now I found out my neighbors surveilance camera had captured the whole thing which I have yet to submit with my complaint. This incident is trully an example that even though how efficient and good your company is, if you place someone incompetent and careless( the owners hardwork) on the phones, you are facing dangerous repercussions to your business. This lazy lady that answered the phone trully does not care for the company that she works for and these types of people are very dangerous for a business. Pete there are so many people needing a job right now I suggest you find someone who actually cares about your business, not someone who will deliberately make you lose accounts. read more

The driver was great. Very courteous, and showed up within the timeframe specified. No problems with the hookup and loading onto flatbed. Also no problems unloading. So why the one star you ask? Because when unloading, the tow truck blew a hydraulic line and dumped gallons of fluid onto the street in front of my neighbors house. An attempt was made to clean it up, and I was promised that someone would be back later that day to clean up the rest. No one came. When I called the next day I was told that the owners were out of town and would contact me the next day. Next day comes and no phone call. So I called and asked for a manager to see when they were going to come out for a clean up. I was treated VERY rudely by the woman on the phone, and when I finally got fed up with her attitude I told her to expect a visit from the EPA and my local police department. She hung up to that, which tells me this probably happens all the time with this company. read more

Awesome Service I am the owner of Alpha Black Car Services inc in Palatine. I am writing this review in appreciation and thanks to Pete's Towing for their wonderful service yesterday. Most of the time people are very quick to express their bad experience and very fast to write a negative review about the establishment and if they have a pleasant experience and completely satisfied, they forget to write a good review with good intention to do it later First and foremost, it is not a joyful moment to get the car towed due to the financial distress that triggers a bad mood knocking us all out of alignment. Pete's towing changed that today. I scheduled a tow for my super stretch limousine to be towed from Palatine to East Dundee to a repair facility. The lady at the office was polite and courteous and scheduled a tow for 10 PM today with flat rate per mile plus initial hook up charge. Donnie the tow truck driver showed up right on time. Donnie was very professional and knowledgeable with all the towing skills. He was very courteous and caring with polite tone and behavior. He confirmed the drop off with us, took payment and worked very hard on a difficult tow. I watched him tow it from a very narrow driveway facing the main street. Donnie called us after the drop off to let us know all went well and the limo has been delivered to the shop. Great job Donnie. My car had a electrical problem and needed a tow to my repair shop. Called AARP road and tow service. They set up the towing with Pete's. They are 20 minutes away and repeatedly lied to me that the truck had been dispatched After 6 calls and nearly 2 hours the truck showed up . The driver said he was just dispatched. He was nice and helpful. The office however totally lacking in customer service. If you know you can't get a truck to me don't lie to me for two hours as I stand by my car read more

Ridiculous experience with this company. I had a flat tire in my driveway, and my road side assistance provider arranged for Pete's to come change it. They just never showed up. When called on multiple occasions, they said it was because they were helping "real" emergencies on the side of the road and gave an updated time they would be here. Then just didn't show up again. I doubt there were that many "emergencies" at the time, but even if there were, you could call with a heads up so I didn't wait for 3.5 hours. I would be extremely hesitant to ever use this towing company for anything, especially in a roadside type situation when help was needed in a timely fashion. read more

Pete's has the worst people there who try to extort money from people on a daily basis. Their commercial towing takes advantage of people who miss a sign and get towed. They won't even let you get your belongings without paying the tow fee. Then they still hold the car until you pay your daily fee. They are horrible on the phone and do not work with people. His insurance didn't help the situation but he went out of the country for work and when he came back found out they junked his car without permission or him to collect his belongings which he had a lot in there. This should be 0! My experience with Jimbo tonight was the worst experience ever with a towing company. This man arrived with a bad attitude. When asked a question regarding loading my vehicle, key word my vehicle, he became angry. He would not speak to us, took the chains off my car let the truck drop down very neglintly and said some nasty things and took off. Its a long story but in short because we were concerned about the truck he didn't like it got mad and left. And by the way Jimbo you were unprofessional, aggressive and down right frightening!. You wanted to drag my truck onto a flatbed without taking it out of park and then you stated your not responsible for damage to the trans. Being a female it took me one minute to Google and find out how to take my truck out of park to put it in neutral to move it. They heard my husband was in an accident and they did everything to take care of my vehicle. They jump started my vehicle, they changed my tire, they even picked up all of our belongings and packed them in our truck and they towed our truck home. We didn't have to worry about a thing thanks to Pete's A towing they got our vehicle home safe and took care of everything and so much more. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone. Driver was inconsiderate, I was on the phone with my insurance company as the driver was quoting all the "add on" fees for my tow. My insurance company was flabbergasted at the cost and advised me to have them tow it to my house instead of their lot stating their fees were "highway robbery" and to not let them have possession of my vehicle in their lot. They have a lot of contracts with the police, parking lots, etc and they are way more expensive than Schocks. Plus Schocks drvers are curtious and nice to deal with. read more

My son was involved in a car accident ran into a deer and ended up in a ditch, Pete's towing was called to pull out the car from ditch by police department , the damage from the deer was to the front of the car. The towing so call expert hooked up the chains around the sway bar and damaged the sway bar, along with back bumper damage, trunk and broke head lights. He should have known that on a BMW there are caps that come off to hook up chains those were never removed, left a part attached to the car and damaged the back so much from his incompetent training and damage. Called the towing company they acted ignorant, rude and not wanting to take liability for there mistake they actually had the balls to blame us for the damage they are suppose be the experts at towing. I'm a insurance professional and know the rules very well so this is something they will not get away with. I am truly astonished by how badly I was treated by the girls in the front office. I went to pick up my car just a few min after the office was closed. The door was open and they were there in the office. When I called earlier they said they would stay late so I could pick up my car. When I asked to pick up my car they said "sorry it's past 5 I can't give you your car". I asked how much I would cost to get my car and was told $170. I asked how much would I cost if I pick up the car the next morning because I know most places charge for overnight storage. They said if I came back the next morning before 8:30 it would still be $170 with no additional charges. So I left upset that they would not release me my car while I was there and returned the next morning at 8:15. When I arrived the price went from $170 to $210 for overnight storage. I explained to the girls in the front office that I was told by 2 different employees that if I got there before 8:30 there would be no additional cost but they accused me of lying about my story and charged me the full $210 + 4% Processing fee! Wow! The whole time I was treated like a criminal and I could hear one girl in the back tell the manager to "go sick him" When I asked to speak to the manager. It seems this sort of behavior is encouraged. Pete's 'a' towing is probably the worst company I have ever encountered and they should be shut down immediately. read more
