Super great mom & pop burger place in Kingwood. Stopped here while visiting my sisters over the Holidays. I had the cheeseburger, my boyfriend had the two chili dog special. My cheeseburger was cooked perfectly. The buns were soft and the meat/bun ratio is perfect. The cheese was melty and gooey. The chili is tasty with a good amount of meat and spices. read more

Love it. Casual country burgers. There's a bunch of silly junk on the walls and the parking lot is full of trucks. Ask for a rare burger and get one. Fries and onion rings are excellent. I usually get the Mushroom Swiss. Buns are soft and grab all juicy burger goodness. Cooking oils can make me sick but this place just leaves me feeling full - maybe they use lard, I don't know but they do it right. Some friends like to shout and say this place isn't "greasy spoon" but it's still a perfect choice for some burgers and fries. read more

Back about 3 or 4 years ago when this place was opened and it was ran by family it was the spot to go on a week day night to grab something to eat and bring it home to the family. Now that the "family" no longer runs it and they have hired other people to run it well here we go. The last time we went in to get a burger I noticed that there wasn't many people there which in itself is unusual. We got up to the counter to place our order and the lady that was taking it could barely understand what we were saying and we could barely understand her. Once they were done with our food which didn't take that long we took it and went home. It was made the way that we wanted it but it was rather bland. The fries had no taste other that like potatoes. The hamburger meat itself just tasted like meat no seasonings at all. So if you want a mediocre burger with little to no taste this is the place to be. I don't think we will go back unless of course it becomes a family ran business again. read more

If you want a good homemade burger this is it! They have the biggest juiciest burgers way better than fast food! They can get pricey if you get all the extras like milkshakes, chili and cheese, etc. but oh it is well worth it. Great, big burgers. Real onion rings, not those pre breaded types. Their grilled chicken salad was very good too and good crunchy fresh lettuce. That's one of the worst visits I've ever been to. You would have thought that an order of onion rings would have bankrupt Pete's burger Place. My order was for their cheese burger special with no tomato and extra onion. The server brought it to my cable and even read off to me no tomato extra onion cheeseburger basket with onion rings. I specifically told the person who I was ordering with I'm allergic to tomatoes so no tomatoes on my Burger King with tomatoes so I politely took it back up there and ask them to remake it first they wanted to just take the tomatoes off and I told them are you trying to kill me please make me a new burger. The server came back over to my table with the burger after about 10 minutes and I politely asked him for the price of their onion rings because I couldn't find it he told me "let me ask the manager if I can get you a free onion ring for the big mixup this was his idea" he returned with the price of the onion rings and he said I'm sorry do you wanna order them anyways. The management service was one of the worst I've ever seen he acted like it was going to bankrupt him over an order of onion rings. read more

This has been a great experience. These burgers are some of the best I have ever eaten. The fries were hot and very generous. I couldn't finish. Everything was served hot and fresh. The order was taken and came out exactly how it was ordered. It is small here, but very friendly and busy. We came on a Saturday around noon and even though it was busy, we got great service. Can only say if you have not been there your missing a great burger meal. My fav is the Patty Melt. My oldest said last week the absolute best he has ever had. I agree. My 2 that live in Austin make it a must stop every time in town. Don't forget to order the sides. Love the mushrooms, fried pickles I eat there but kids not with I don't get them. Not a fan of fried pickles. But the jalapeños stuff and fried are just great. read more

This Burger Joint is a must go to if your in the Porter area. Burgers are delicious and they offer other items aswell. A bit pricy, but well worth it if your looking for a Home Cooked style burger. Little seating though. Other than that, I'd recommend it. read more

This is a really humble burger restaurant, the food is delicious and the staff is nice. Their burgers are really big so if you have a smaller stomach you're going to have to order the one from the kids menu, but you're still not going to miss any of the magic from the big burger so don't panic. Only reason why they don't get 5 stars is because the waiting time is a little bit to long but I guess the food makes up for it. read more

I picked up an order only once. I never went back. While I was waiting, I looked up and noticed some crud on the ceiling fan running, above the cooking area. The food smelled good, but I couldn't eat it. I've never gone back. Also, my husband was confined to a power chair. There were no accommodations for him. read more

Real burgers here, not imitation fast food. Mom and Pop local restaurants are our favorite and Pete's delivers on the burgers. Appetizers leave a bit to be desired when the main menu items deliver as big of a punch as they do, but they're not bad. You came here for the burger, anyway.
