This is a very good little local burger shop!!! Excellent food and very friendly service!!!!

petes burger place is a classic hit for me, ive passed this place for months didnt think anything of it but "oh its just another burger joint" until i have read reviews so i decided to go in and try it out one friday knight and it was raining out and this place had tables filled an hour before the place closed at 9pm. i can tell you that this place is very clean clean and has its own unique style of decor very cool and cozy. so i ordered the patty melt combo 2 garlic toasted breads and all beef cooked to perfection patty covered in melted cheese and onions which also comes with fries and a fountain soda drink it was amazing!!! fresh cooked burgers over fast food for sure. the staff is friendly and very helpful if you need anything. if your in the area and looking for a good burger joint this is it right here dont pass by it and think nothing of it which i did for months, i will def. come back again and again to try other menu items. love it!! read more

Pete's is a little place with a big taste. It's usually too busy for me to stop at but the times I have, the food was good.

This is the best burger place in Porter Texas! If you want a great old fashion cheeseburger then give them a try! There is nothing tastier then a hot burger with melted cheese flowing down ! I get the cheeseburger basket. It come with fries that are the perfect size. Not shoestring (yuk). They also have a great homemade dessert selection. Went here for the 1st time with some friends. Had a cheeseburger and fries. The staff and seating area were nice. The burger was good, along with the fries. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star, is that I felt the burger could have been better. I have had burgers that were just a little better than Pete's. When I first drafted this review I was beyond angry at this place. My families first visit here was a nightmare. To make a long story short after waiting an hour and half on our order we found out they hadn't placed our order at all. I was fuming when we left but the owner stopped my husband as we were leaving with our togo order and apologized profusely, refunded our money and was visibly dismayed to find out that this was our first visit based on recommendations from friends. As I angrily took my first bite of my burger all my frustration melted away as I fell in burger love. The huge patty, crisp lettuce and cheesy cheese all work together to make one fantastic burger. On top of that the onion rings were all crust (the way I prefer) and were so good I put a few on my burger which made it that much better. In fact, I'm not sure what type of batter they use but everything I have had fried there has been awesome, which would include mozzarella sticks and okra. The next time we thought smart and called in a togo order. As my husband walked in he was happily greeted by name by the same owner who refunded our money. My husband was in there so long I almost had to go into get him. He came back to the car and flashed me a shaker he bought of a seasoning salt. He went on to tell me it was a family business out of Florida and that it was supposed to be good on everything and oh buddy is it. We use it at home now to season everything. Everything on the menu is great, no matter what you order you will be pleased. With the inexpensive menu (a burger, fry and drink combo under $6) you can eat here as often and for as much as any fast food place. Sorry guys, you are a 5 star place but first impressions stick and I had to dock a star for it. read more

As a pair of 64 year old baby boomers my spouse & I had been driving past this little place for a while traveling from our Kingwood home - so being avid food tasting specialists we decided this past 1st week of June 2012 to sample Pete's Burger's for our first time. Very old small antique building not much larger than maybe two full size home garages facing busy Loop 494. Folks it looks - feels - and tastes like what you would expect in a tiny Houston suburb to be an ole fashioned "burger joint" back in the 50's - 60's. Relxed very casual mom + pop counter order table served burgers - fries - and the other stuff. Big juicy heavy burgers with all the trimmings even extra stuff like nice mushrooms - jalapeno's - cheese - toppings as you wish. Old fashioned common fries served up hot and fresh. $6.50 each bought us a really big nice burger with fries and a large self serve soda - catsup on the tables - we sat back back as Pete stood at the counter - and we listened to old rock music and the a/c blowing. We've eaten at places from Atlantic City to Vegas and in between - Our opinion - DELICIOUS .... absolutely enjoyable and if you are anywhere near ( or far ) you would certainly want to have some of this good ole fashioned comfort food. We rate his burger several grades higher than the ordinary hamburgers you find at Chili's - 5 Guys - Smashburger - Pete's blows them all away! read more

As someone who has had Pete's several times. I really do think they make an above average burger. However, I'm writing this so other people don't get ripped off. I ordered a "JR cheeseburger" (no sides or drink) and was charged $6.18. Yes, $6.18?! Turns out you HAVE to get the combo (~$4), you aren't allowed to just order a burger. Then if you are an adult (which every paying customer likely is) you are upcharged $1.25. This place will RIP YOU OFF. However, if you decide to go I suggest the burger and onion rings (the fries are clearly frozen from a bag). In all honest, Five Guys is much better. read more

Outstanding burger! Our family truly enjoyed the laid-back and down to earth atmosphere from the decor to the wonderful and attentive employees! We even had an opportunity to meet Pete and take pictures! Our family says from now on that this will be our go to spot for burgers in the future. We have been there 3 times in 3 weeks already! Being a Chef I'm always looking for more famly owned places that I can enjoy. This place is amazing, I love the food, mushroom burger comes out so hot everytime I have to wait a few minuets just so it won't burn my mouth. Frys are always hot and the service is fast and I never have to wait long. I have gone several times and have never been diapointed. Petes is a great little mom and pop restaurant on 494 as you're headed from Kingwood to porter. The burgers are good and the onion rings are huge! This does take the title of best burger in kingwood. It's a straight up burger, with typical toppings plus a couple extras you can add on, but it's very good. And the meat is good quality and fairly lean. The onion rings were amazing as well. They have a lot on the menu if your not looking for a burger. Only one star because of the laws being broken. They are able to get away with it due to being there for so long according to them (when I asked). There are NO handicapped accommodations. I broke both of my feet and had to use a wheelchair. My family tried to visit the establishment and we could not access restaurant. read more
