I love supporting a small family owned restaurant, this spot definitely has a homey feel to it. My friend and I decided to come here on a cold 25 degree day for some burgers & I have to say that the food was pretty solid. While the wait time to receive my food was long, it was worth it because it came out hot & fresh; you definitely can't beat that. I decided to get their cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. I'll start with my burger, it was decent but the patty could've use some more seasoning & maybe better quality patty as well. The cheese was kind of nonexistent because it was small. My chili cheese fries was very good, it had a fair share of cheese & they came out hot. I got to taste my friend onion rings & it was alright because they over fried it. We told him he was in for a treat. He got the cheeseburger, I got the Pete's burger and husband got the mushroom Swiss burger. I requested no onions and extra jalapeños. Our burgers and fries came out shortly piping hot and fresh! The fries were perfectly crispy, hot and golden brown. Salted to perfection. (Hey, no one said it was health food). My burger was comically covered in jalapeños. Lol. Hey, I asked for it! But extras were easily removed to create the perfect amount of spicy goodness. Burgers were large, and completely the size of the bun. No small patty here! Ours were all cooked to perfection, no pink visible and juices running clear. Not overly greasy, but juicy, like a pro cooked it! I usually don't get a burger, I get a chicken sammich, which is also great. But today I was so glad I splurged and got the burger! The buns were toasted slightly on the inside (that's important) yet soft, but not falling apart in your hands while you ate. I had 2 cold pieces of pickle chips inside, which is just enough. Sometimes I get extra, but this burger was perfect without it. Even the tomato and lettuce were a perfect portion. They certainly know how to give you an amazing burger. Son and husband both finished theirs and grunted their approval. Pretty sure their inner cave guy/carnivore was ultimately pleased. We will for sure be back, because this place is always consistently great. I've never had a bad time or bad anything here. Even when it's crowded, it's awesome. And we always get thanked and told to have a good day on the way out. My only gripe (and it's not really a gripe) is more of my personal preference for a lot of napkins, and even though I tried stealing my companions', they needed theirs too. This place and the manager Greg that runs and is horrible!!! Their prices don't line up with what's online so essentially they're lying to the public. You expect to pay one price then when you get there it's another price then when you complain and ask for a manager to call you back, Greg is not man enough to give you a call back. I will avoid this place in the future, and tell all my buddies to avoid it as well. The chicken fried steak sandwich is very bland, small the bun is bigger than the meat. I really loved the location and hometown vibe it gave off while being in the huge city. It off on this side greet that parallels the interstate. It deceptively has a lot of seating in the main area and there's a seCond section around the corner for more large groups. The menu is solid with classics such as the cheeseburger, jalapeño burger, barbecue, etc. The burger was cooked well done while holding all of its juices. The size was decent. Wow! We stopped here driving from Louisiana on our way to Fulshear, TX. I didn't want to eat at a chain restaurant so I picked this place off Yelp even though it was a little out of the way. It is a hole in the wall style BEST old fashioned hamburgers ever establishment! I'd give them a 5 star...but they forgot to put pickles on my burger. Arrive early as this place fills up quickly during lunch. It's a pretty small main dining room but there is additional seating on the premises if you don't find one adjacent to the kitchen. Pretty large menu of burger place favorites with hot dogs and corn dogs too. Food comes out quick and hot, large portions seem to be the norm. A big plus is how clean they keep the place, with the amount of traffic and turn over in the place you'd expect to see a table or two that needs bussing, but the staff at Pete's could do a training session for the Singaporean government. read more

This place has been on my list to visit for years, and so I finally came one day to try their famous burgers. The roadside shack has 2 seating areas(buildings) now. The southern building is partially attached to the side of their house and is basically an overflow seating area. The north building is where you order with about 12 tables. For customers, if the ordering side is full, you walk back outside and into the next door/building. This country spot serve more than just burgers, also hot dogs, salads, fried appetizers, and about 8 different sandwiches. Not to mention hand-scooped ice cream and a few other desserts. They have several baskets (combos) which provide a little discount, including the everyday special cheeseburger basket. Their beef patties are pre-formed, 6oz each. I ordered a double cheeseburger (cheddar), onion rings, and a sweet tea. Total was around $12.50, but I was hungry. The burgers are pretty basic with onion, tomato, white onion, mustard. Onion rings are alright, they are just your normal pre-breaded greasy onion rings. Probably not worth the extra money you pay instead of fries since they're not hand-battered. Overall, if you're a burger fanatic, I'd say drive a little further south to Bill's, for a better hand-formed burger. If I come back here, I'll be trying a different sandwich. read more
