Love this supermarket. It's just super crowded all the time. There is an insane amount of options available especially with the produce. I do like that they have a section with already cut up produce to take because I hate cutting up them up when I cook. Call me lazy or I just don't know how to cut veggies and fruit properly. Best place to buy produce at a cheap price, very fresh and beats everyone around palos, worth, chicago ridge, oak lawn area. This grocery store has alot of variety of food you can select and buy and its never boring. Can compete with Mariano's and jewel. They have grocery from around the world aswell. It's always a pleasure shopping here. They carry a large variety of produce many other stores do not have. The overall inventory is diverse and well stocked. Customer service is good. The cashiers have always been friendly. It can get very crowded in here and most times when we visit it is full of shoppers. The hot bars have many choices. There are other ready to eat food stations as well and they seem to be popular. The gelato station looks amazing. I noticed that the inventory switches up often. read more

My partner and I have gone twice, including on the first opening day. My review is based on our second visit today, as a review left for a first-day visit isn't fair, since it was such a madhouse. We don't have a "one stop shop" for groceries, but do most of our shopping at the Mariano's in Oak Lawn. We were really looking forward to this Pete's location opening, with the hope it could become that one stop, eliminating the need to make at least two trips each week to find everything we'd like. Unfortunately, it looks like it won't be that, though I'm sure we'll stop in once a month or every couple of weeks anyway. It has a better selection than the Pete's we normally frequent in Evergreen Park. I'd probably give 2.5 stars if I could, but 3 is undeserved. We're both very disappointed, as we figured Pete's would try making this location a "Mariano's killer" - nope. The pros of this Pete's: - Quite good seafood department. If you get whole fish, they'll prep them for you right then. A really nice feature. - A good variety of non-organic produce. - LOTS of ethnic food choices. - Sushi made in store that's actually pretty decent. - Lots of prepared foods and salads that seem of good quality. The cons: - Holy crap, the aisles are narrow!! Two carts just barely fit side by side in many of them - especially the aisles in the middle of the store. Too much time spent navigating around other people. It's really, really bad. The worst "big" grocery store I've ever been to from that aspect. - Not enough of an organic produce selection. Close, but just not quite enough. - Navigating many sections of the store is arduous and annoying. I understand that one tactic grocery stores use is to "slow you down" so you buy more. This store has gone over the top in that regard. - Layout of some sections of the store is baffling. Try going through the dairy section - it's almost funny how badly it's laid out. I swear, if 6 people with carts are in that section, it reaches gridlock. read more

Not my favorite store at all. As the other reviewers commented, the aisles are too narrow and their setup is a bit chaotic. It's difficult to walk past the aisles at the front of the store because the checkout is way too close. I thought the liquor section was small and most beers were refrigerated. I wanted warm beer to store until I was ready to drink it. They did have a huge produce section, but some of their prices were quite high. Along with the rest of the store, most thing were priced higher than other stores. My daughter mentioned to me that the guy bagging up our stuff was pretty rude and basically chucking the bags into the shopping cart. She had to rearrange the bags so the bread didn't get smashed more than it already was. I wish I would have seen that, I would have said something to him. Additionally, the cashier gave me an exasperated look when she tried to ring a pack of sausage with no label. "No label??" she says to me. I guess I picked up one that didn't have it, how is that my fault? Any other store would get that taken care of, but she let me know she was annoyed by this inconvenience. I'm so happy that Pete's moved into this spot and renovated the store and repaved the parking lot. It is a good addition to the area. However, this Pete's is trying to be like a Mariano's. The store is huge, the aisles are super narrow, it is hard to navigate and figure out where things area. They do sell liquor, which the other location does not. I've been here 3 times now. The first was on a Saturday early afternoon, just to check it out. It was insanely crowded and you couldn't make it through the aisles. The next 2 times I went right at 7am when they opened and checked out the entire store, with no problems. The produce selection is good. There is every ethnicity represented in the food aisles. I'm glad they are in the neighborhood, but I will continue to make the drive to the Pete's on 95th street. This location has a better layout and a better olive bar! read more

I really like Pete's and travel 30 minutes just to shop here, but..... I purchased ground meat from the HALAL section and went I got home and wanted to use it, omg the stench was horrible, how did the butcher not smell that?? When I smelled the other two packs of pre ground meat they also had a weird smell. I am really disappointed because I always counted on this place to have fresh meat. I will say that the produce department is always a good value vs Jewel e.t.c. They really need to stick to a number system especially at the Halal section when it gets busy it's a circus, people will jump their turn. The isle's are too narrow for this size of market. We shop here every week. Last week a deli employee accidentally tagged our deli meat with the wrong code. This doubled the cost. When we called the young lady who answered was very polite told us we could get credit the following week when we went in. The only reason I don't give this five stars is because the layout gets odd around the pop and booze. It looks like they ran out of space and decided to cram all the pop and booze into a single aisle. Anyway allow me to continue. The store is very spacious. Great deli. Great meat selection plus great prices on the meat. Solid fresh produce. The store offers entire aisles geared toward various ethnicities (i.e. Middle Eastern, Greek, Italian, Polish, and more). There is a great hot food section as well. Mariano's has nothing on Pete's. You can get freshly made tacos among many other hot items. They offer a huge selection of pre-made entrees and sandwiches. The bakery section is huge. Pete's tops it off with a cafe and bar as well. Little disappointed with the pet food section or lack of one thereof. But I guess that's what pet stores are for. Parking is not a problem. Staff is friendly and you can see that they work hard. This location was formerly a Cub Foods. Come visit this location and you'll save some money and be happy with the selection. read more

Pete's expansive range of Polish, Grecian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Jordanian, Pakistani, you name it, groceries is impressive and extends to the bakery, deli and dairy departments. They have the freshest deli salads and hot foods representing a wide range of ethnic specialties including Arabic foods, which is fascinating since they are in the heart of little Arabia which is packed with Arab restaurants and grocery stores. Pete's Fresh Market does Arabian food better, fresher and cheaper. This is like being in Ramallah, Palestine there are so many Arabs here. I have not shopped at this store since the pandemic started. I stopped in the other day to pick up a few things. I was shocked. The store was dirty. The managers had all of the people waiting to check out in a single line stretching around the store and on top of each other. The manager would send one shopper at a time to an open register. The mother of allllll supermarkets :) pretty dope place has everything and anything best part is the FISH selection I'm so thankful I don't have to drive all the way to fresh farms in the north side weekly for fish :) this place has saved my gas and time! Finally fresh fish!!! All sorts of fresh cooked food and so many verities to choose from the possibility are endless! They even have a cafe inside which is by far my favorite part! We have been waiting for months for Pet's to open and WOW. This store has something for everyone - so diverse. They just opened and are so busy it will blow your mind. Today I sampled roasted lamb shoulder, Boars Head Vermont White Cheddar, aged hard cheese with ribbons of truffles, red wine, and now I am kicking back enjoying a proper cafe latte. I am satisfied. I am thankful that Pete's recognizes the need for the cultural variety in my area and serves all palettes. This is my store and go to for awesome prepared meals. read more

You can smell the freshness of the food and produce, as well as the friendliness as soon as you walk in. Yes, I wrote I could smell the friendliness. I asked for help from a number of employees, and I got the same awesome attitude and helpfulness from all that I came into contact with. This is a great place to shop, not only because of the overabundance of different foods from all over the world, but the employees make the experience an even better one by acting professional and very friendly. I want to commend management for the training, and for hiring folks with real people skills. I will definitely keep returning if the products and employees keep it at 100%. Recently shopped @ Pete's for the first time. I came from an area where Caputo's was my go to, then came Mariano's. I love to cook and like a big selection of different ethnic foods and spices. When I entered this store I checked out the vegetables/fruit first. Some prices were higher or significantly higher then their competitors. Produce and fruit appeared to look good. I was impressed with the organization of the store, large quantity and selection of products. Their pita bread is fresh and not stale like one of their competitors offers. This could be because there is a large Arab community near here. I was also impressed that they had a specific butcher section for Halal meats. I found a pot roast with the round bone in it. Something I have not been able to obtain at other stores for years. I did taste test and purchase Petes goat cheese. Delicious and a very smooth taste and not over powering. They even put olive oil and other spices as they were serving it. I felt like a kid in a candy shop and in awe of the many departments they have. I purchased two dinners from their prepared food bar. I must say they were very tasty. The food was fresh and not dried out as some of their competitors display. I did not purchase any sweet bakery goods on my first visit, but everything looked delicious in their bakery section. I bought some baked Greek bread, did not eat it yet. Are aisle a little hard moving around?? Yes, however rather deal with this than bad product and lack of...just watch out for carts and proceed with caution down aisle. Pete's I am so happy I found you since I have recently moved to the surrounding suburbs. Wish your deal would have gone through in Orland Park, with that location, they could use a good Market such as yours. Definitely will be back and hopefully this will be my main grocery store going forward. read more

Pete's Fresh Market is probably the go to place for produce as it has by far the largest produce selection in the area including many items that are rare for Chicago. Perhaps this is the reason why aisles are so narrow and cluttered that it makes getting around the store an ordeal even when it is not so crowded. The hot food area has by a large selection of items including many ethnic dishes that represent our surrounding communities. I also like the bakery for the fresh breads, baklava, etc. The parking lot has a weird configuration as most cars must past right in front of the store to exit onto 103rd street. Be careful here as not all drivers yield to shoppers exiting the store and crossing right through this traffic. read more

I went there to purchase a very expensive fruit called guanavana or soursop which cost me $50, when I tried cutting up the fruit two days later since it still hadn't ripen, the fruit was completely spoiled from the inside. When I tried returning it the next day with my RECEIPT I unfortunately was forced to deal with a useless shift manager by the name of Mike, he's Arab with a very heavy accent who barely speaks English. He gave me a very hard time from the get-go and told me I should've eaten the fruit that same day if I didn't want it to go bad. First of all no one should have to eat all their produce in one day unless it's been sitting out in the shelf for over a week! I explained this to Mike and how ridiculous sounded and that I at least wanted store credit for this very spoiled fruit but he refused accusing me of threatening him just bc I had mentioned that I did not want to have to file a complaint and my husband being the attorney that he is will. The inept man took high offense to this and refused to give me any type of credit b/c it was past the 3 days when he gave full store credit to the lady ahead of me who had no receipt and was returning a fruit called Mamey again with NO RECEIPT - check your cameras management bc this is no joke. He instead decided to attack a very loyal Pete's Market customer forcing me to waste my time on having to write this poor review. This "Mike" guy should be fired and NOT be holding any type of position at your store much less management. Needless to say I will never step foot in any of your establishments again as there's plenty of other grocery stores I can go to and will look into filing formal complaints against this particular store and their rotten spoiled produce. read more

I just came from Pete's Fresh Market in Bridgeview .Me and my son we had very unpleasant incident with a manager Joe .We wanted to buy some candy there was bunch of them on the shelf for 0.99 cents when they scanned them the price was 1.49 $ and we told them they are on sale they check the price and they called a girl she check the price to and my son called for manager- instead of honoring the price he told my son that he is too poor that he wants a discount and he took couple of singles from his wallet and try to give it to my son .THIS IS NOT how you treat people all we wanted was from him to honor the price on the shelf ( which I'm pretty sure any store like Jewell ,Meijer will gladly do it) instead of insulting customer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The store is clean and very big with a wise selection of different foods etc. The produce section, while big, is a little questionable to me with some of the produce not looking the freshest. I've been there twice, once on opening day and a second time just a few days ago. The first time was so chaotic that we walked in and walked right out. This review is exclusively for the second time.... My son wanted to buy flowers for his best friend (they are both 13) because she had a choir concert. We asked if they could bundle up two bouquets. One white and the other yellow, his choosing as they are like brother and sister, I'm guessing that's why he picked the colors. The manager of that department was absolutely and outrageously rude. As she smirked and told us that they didn't have time she continued by saying that she would charge us $7 extra for that service. You don't have the time.... but if I'd like to be penalized $7, she would stop and make the time. She also suggested that I do it myself. She was in the midst of discussing a huge floral arrangement for her family member to a couple of gentlemen in the meantime. As she said that it would be a $7 extra charge, I walked off and felt compelled to pick something that we'd settle for, literally walking away from her as she finished her sentence. At this point we were hard pressed for time. When we finally picked out her bouquet and proceeded to the register, she belted out to us "I'm sorry about that". We did't pay her any mind and just hurried on. If you have a floral department.... and people are willing to pay for what they want.... why is it that you would make your customers feel like an imposition?!?! Because of the floral department manager, we will not be back, not ever. I will let all of my friends and family know what my experience was. Good news travels fast but bad news travels faster. All of this could have been avoided. She could have just whipped up both bouquets together much faster than it took for her to thwart our needs. read more

I wish I could put zero stars. The medical practice I work for placed a catering order of $460 for delivery. No cutlerly or plates provided not even cocktail sauce for our shrimp. Best part is the manager on duty, Leo, at the time I placed the order told my office manager that he made me aware that these items were not included. This is completely false! So not only are you lying, he also told her that he personally took my order which he did not, personal order was taken by a lady named Danielle B. and she did not specify that plates and cutlery were not included. My favorite store, the food is so delicious and amazing variety. What set this store apart from others is the customer service. I love a specific flavor of Blue Bunny Cherrific Cheesecake but they rarely had it. I saw the manager near by and asked him if its possible to order more because they go quick.
