I really love this place and I have dined here maybe twice a year since 1967. I consider this a high end restaurant ( it's not inexpensive) that's totally worth what one spends here. Petit Paree has been holding it down in Festus for over 60 years, and it's easy to see why. Sure, people usually go for the steaks (not my thing), but there's plenty to love even if you're skipping the red meat. Last time I went, I got the lobster Rangoon and the swordfish--and wow, both were incredible. Definitely #StLouispescatarianapproved! Went here on Sunday 05/10/2026. They had buttfet, yes BUTT FET. When seeing one gent picking his nose at the table, handling his baby and had his hands on the baby's diaper, then went straight to the buffet and served himself with no detour to the bathroom first, made me ill and not Buttfet for me!!! Their food is amazing. Can not believe the prices at this place. Husband and I went on a random Thursday night and had the best filet we have had since we left Texas. My husband had the larger bacon wrapped filet with a salad and risotto. I had the smaller filet as vegetable of the day and a twice baked potato. Although I would not order the potato again. Just so so for that. We both had a drink and shared a piece of the lemon Italian cream cake. Our bill was 90.00. You can't even go to a chain steakhouse restaurant for under that. What a lot of fun with great food as well! It was busy when we arrived but were quickly shown to a table. Service was attentive and fun. Food was traditional steak house food with great salads and of course really good steak. The creamed spinach was delicious. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The escargot was tasty as well. Rating: 4.3 Stars This was my second visit to Petit Paree Restaurant & Lounge. Both meals have been tasty. At my first visit, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiano. It had good taste! I don't love their marinara sauce because it is not really my style--i.e., less sweet--but the meal was still great. The pasta is on the thinner side. This item is not on the currently reduced COVID-19 menu. At my second visit, I enjoyed their extremely tasty bread options, the yummy Toasted Ravioli, and the Shrimp. I went with the Seafood Pasta for my second-visit entrée. The shrimp and scallops were very taste, and the portion was generous. I liked this meal, and I will be back in the future! It was extremely underwhelming. My medium steak was cut through the center by the kitchen to test the doneness...they should have checked again. My steak was well done...that was the only thing well done within this establishment! The party behind us left after waiting almost 2 hours and still didn't receive their food. We have been coming to Petite on a weekly basis for a few years now. It is our go to place if we want to stay in town but also want to have a nice dinner. The staff is friendly and makes a genuine effort to get to know their clientele. Kyle, their chef, is always coming up with delicious specials to try. Karen and Shanda are excellent and always provide top notch service. They have made improvements to their wine and cocktail list recently, and I hope they continue those changes with their normal menu as well. Their current offerings are great, but some new additions would also be welcome! If you are looking for a great steak in the Festus area make sure to give them a try! read more

PERFECTION! FLAWLESS! I recently planned a surprise 25th wedding anniversary at Petite, with 22 guests, and to say it was perfect isn't saying enough! Food was at time, prepared, and served with perfection. The staff was invisible while serving our guests, never interrupting our celebration; yet, there for me when I was needing their assistance. You would think with the prices you pay and the quantity you get that they would know how to cook a steak . Salads very little, pieces of carrots to hard to chew - unripe tomato - huge pieces of lettuce- dressing average & homemade. Twice baked potato average- steak thin , Sent back 2x first time raw second time overdone . The special was a 12 oz strip with scallops. 30$ for steak $10 for two scallops . Disappointing. Exorbitantly overpriced. Frutti de mare unlike any I have ever had, overcooked scallops and shrimp on spaghetti noodles soaked in cheese. Thats it, no discernable seasoning whatsoever. Oddly the menu offered here on yelp is totally different than the menu we recieved. Had to ask for the wine and drink list, no big deal though. Staff were great, really cute place. 155 after tip for 2 adults and a child. No appetizers. They took a martini off the bill as my meal was, well, Mac n cheese with spaghetti noodles. The kid couldn't eat her burger and fries either. Our dogs ate it no problem though. The lady's steak was alright, and her lobster tail would have been ok with a whole lot less salt. Actually, cut salt back 90% on all the food would help. Will never go again. If restaurant reads this, lay off the salt, and please, dont do that to scallops, they've come such a long way to be here. Absolutely horrible. Waitress (Shanda)came over to tell us the special. She went through 3 specials with us and 3 people from our party chose the steak and seafood option which included a 12oz ribeye & 5oz lobster tail and 2 sides. No price was ever mentioned with any of the specials. Steaks were ordered med and came out well done. When our checks arrived to our surprise we were charged $42 for the steak and $40 for the lobster. So $82 for a special. We asked our waitress (shanda) if she was the manager and she said she was not and the manger was at a different restaurant right down the road. I also said there is no way that the meal we just had was $82 and she should of mentioned the special prices when it's that expensive. She shrugged her shoulders and said sorry that's just what we do and yes the special was $82 and that's just how it rings in the computer separate. I also ordered a Tito's and tea and there was no ice in my cup and absolutely no way the vodka was Tito's! read more

I was afraid that with new ownership they would have came in and changed a whole bunch of things but we went on Valentine's Day and it was the same. So thankful for that!!! Love the old time décor of the bar side and so glad they did not change a thing! Although I will admit that the other side of the restaurant needed to be worked on years ago. I am glad that it still makes you feel like you are stepping back in time and can unwind and relax with a old friend. I was afraid they would change the menu all up, get rid of long time favorites and change the décor to your typical "chain" kind of place with tons of TV's and loud music. We met the new owner and he was very pleasant to talk to. I REALLY WISH THEY HAD THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE AND THAT ITALIAN LEMON CAKE STILL, hint hint :) Keep up the good work guys!! read more

I give this 3 stars for a few reasons. Our first time here and went day after Valentine's Day. First I was not really caring for the decor. Some chairs were scratched up and old and table kinda wobbly. Definitely needs some updating. Food was ok at best. My lamb had no flavor and the pesto pistachio sauce was horrible tasting. We both loved, loved, loved the risotto. Twice baked potatoes were very small and not much flavor plus a little dry. We also absolutely loved the goat cheese ragu on the appetizer except we both got awful heartburn from it. The Shrimp bisque was yummy but could have been a little larger portion. Service was friendly. Not sure if we will be back for another $125 bland dinner again. read more

We ordered the surf and turf special and the steaks and scallops were cooked very nicely;however would have been better off ordering the strip and scallops separately and sharing. The toasted bread was delicious but the calamari appetizer was mostly breading, needed more flavor or some parm. Mushroom and twice baked potato sides were also blah but french onion soup was tasty. Before I retired, i travelled on business and was able to dine at a lot of good restaurants all over the United States. Petit Paree happens to be in my hometown, but it honestly ranks up there with the very best I've had. It's been in the same family for over 50 years, and as far as I can tell the high standards haven't changed a bit. Their prime steaks are still hand cut and cooked on a charbroiler that's almost as old as I am. They get a wonderful char to go along with their great taste and tenderness. The sirloin or filet matches up to any of the big steakhouses but their bone in rib eye is the best I've had anywhere. One of the keys to this place is that they still do most everything in house. Their sides are whatever the chef has found to be in season, and the croutons, soups, and salad dressings are made right there. You'll find the best coconut cream pie you've ever had, made earlier that day. Festus is a small town but you can apply big city standards to this place and still be impressed. read more
