Petit Paree has been holding it down in Festus for over 60 years, and it's easy to see why. Sure, people usually go for the steaks (not my thing), but there's plenty to love even if you're skipping the red meat. Last time I went, I got the lobster Rangoon and the swordfish--and wow, both were incredible. Definitely #StLouispescatarianapproved! The vibe inside is shabby chic French, and I usually grab a spot at the bar to eat and get a little work done. Always a good time.

Chicken Parmigiano!

Rating: 4.3 Stars This was my second visit to Petit Paree Restaurant & Lounge. Both meals have been tasty. At my first visit, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiano. It had good taste! I don't love their marinara sauce because it is not really my style--i.e., less sweet--but the meal was still great. The pasta is on the thinner side. This item is not on the currently reduced COVID-19 menu. At my second visit, I enjoyed their extremely tasty bread options, the yummy Toasted Ravioli, and the Shrimp. I went with the Seafood Pasta for my second-visit entrée. The shrimp and scallops were very taste, and the portion was generous. I liked this meal, and I will be back in the future! The staff was very nice!

I was a little bummed we couldn't get a table, but we were able to sit at the bar. So if you don't make reservations, they will get you in. The biscuits and gravy are either for you or they're not. I like them, but it's not something I would order every day. The charcuterie board was very good, but almost came off as a little basic for the price. The eggs Benedict was excellent, and the potatoes were the star of the show. The most simple food, but it was by far one of the biggest surprises at how tasty they were. I 100% recommend.

And the happy hour is crazy good! On a nice day there is nowhere nicer than the patio and tonight the happy hour was GLORIOUS. I do like sitting inside as well but with this weather you couldn't make me go inside. I have had brunch here quite a few times, dinner too, but as I said today was happy hour. That means the burger. It is absolutely one of the best I have had. I take it as offered but love that they always ask if I want modifications. Look at that burger! And the shoestring potatoes are marvelous too! We had the chips & cheese and olive appetizers to snack on as burgers were getting made and we each had a cocktail. Love that the service is attentive and friendly (Brian was great tonight). But also love that I never feel rushed to turn the table over. And the happy hour from 5-6 means that burger is close in price to tha burgers at Shake Shack and I guarantee you will enjoy this far more. I have had great dishes of all sorts here but I sometimes have to give in to the burger... it never lets me down!

Food and drinks were great. No complaints there…read more Our party of 4 was on time but the kitchen was slow. The bill came 1 hour 35 mins after we were seated. After we paid (and tipped 30%), we were abruptly told by the hostess to leave the table and move outside to finish the drinks we had just ordered. We awkwardly gathered our belongings without protest and were rushed outside unassisted, with the other patrons staring at us. As we exited, we heard the server reappear and graciously apologize to the waiting party, offering them champagne. The table outside was set when we arrived but then actively cleared by the busser after we sat down. No one came back to check in. We felt unwelcome and quickly left. It was unnecessarily uncomfortable and put a damper on what was supposed to be a celebratory meal. This was a service failure. I understand the need to turn tables over quickly, but we should have been given at least 5 minutes notice, especially when the kitchen is running behind. Alternatively, the drinks could have been taken off the bill and we could have left outright. Even help moving or any involvement from our server or the manager would have been appreciated, but they were not present. Having had many great experiences at Vicia, I expected more from the take root hospitality group. We'll give Vicia another chance, but I'll be cautious about trying one of their sister restaurants again With the impending closure, this one may have already given up.

It's in a little strip mall in Chesterfield Valley. There are a few little tables outside on the sidewalk. It was a little cool so we opted to sit inside. There isn't a hostess stand, but a server saw us and came and told us to sit wherever we would like. There are about a dozen tables in there and I believe they all seat two, but staff would push them together for larger groups. When we got there, there were a fair number of tables open and by the time we left, people were waiting for tables. There are also four seats at a counter. It's not a huge space, but it's a decent size and really cute! We ordered our lattes and checked out the menu. We had to make hard decisions because everything sounded good! We decided we were going to get savory crepes. We both really enjoyed our meals - it was so good! Our server (can't remember her name) was great! The cocktail menu and RW menu were fabulous, and yet bringing it all to life with effusive knowledge and enthusiasm about the various dishes was our outstanding server, Corinthian. She shared interesting and incredible insight on each offering, making us feel valued and appreciated patrons, advising based on our interests and likes to help us make decisions. Each of us was pleased with our various selections. While the soups were tempting on a cold night, I was delighted with the French-inspired Lyonnaise salad complete with a perfectly prepared soft boiled egg. My panko-encrusted swordfish with burre Blanc sauce was light and tasty. The gooey butter beignets were light on the gooey butter custard-like filling, as promised by our server (and more special than the typical St. Louis dessert), sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate. The ample dessert (3) provided take home leftovers for delicious breakfast treats. The cocktails I enjoyed included a Japanese Old Fashioned & an Espresso Martini, both very good. Initially upon arrival, an adjacent table of younger women was unusually loud (in a space that doesn't absorb noise well) that I feared would spoil our evening; rather than approach them (tempted) or engage management, I glared a few times at them and it seemed to have resolved. Overall, this was a very enjoyable, comfortable, and satisfying dinner; we would return.

I ordered a smoked turkey soup while hubby ordered up his signature French Onion soup - we also ordered up a 1/2 charcuterie board - good news? The soups were just great, really. We ate 'em up quickly! The charcuterie board? Ok - where to start? The salami and prosciutto were great. The cheddar cheese was way too basic and (dare I say) a couple pieces were hardening up- yikes! Fresh it was not. The other cheese was unable to be ID'd and was kind of "bread like" - not good. But the bread (crostini)? Oh my goodness- hard as a rock. Not good at all. So we ate up the meat, some of the cheddar - and left most of that funky cheese and that hard bread. The hummus and fig spread was great, though - so no issues there. Hmm. So this was a mixed bag. But the surprise came - partly my fault, I know - I asked for a shot of their most expensive Scotch on the rocks. I should have asked the price - just over $100 for a shot! We didn't know this and only wish the bartender would have asked me to confirm the order by saying "the one I have is over $100/shot - are you sure you want it!" - but that didn't happen, darn it. So we paid up - and I swore never to order nothing but basic Scotch going forward! So - the soups and beers were great - but we suggest staying away from the charcuterie board until the bread and cheese selections are tweaked a bit more!

We've been here several times for their wine pairing dinners, and I am always completely blown away; and that's putting it mildly. The space is just gorgeous. There's this moment when you're driving up in the dark, and suddenly you see this illuminated farmhouse in all of its glory, and you just know it's going to be a special evening. Their wine pairing dinners sell out quickly, so keep your eyes on their website and social media. I'd also recommend waiting for a dinner when you know you're going to love every single course, only because the dinners are quite expensive. We recently went to their white truffle dinner and had, hands down, the best dining experience of our lives. Show up early--I believe you can get to your table an hour before the dinner begins--and let their talented team craft you a cocktail. From there, you can definitely expect top-tier plates and expertly-paired wines. Truly, it's just a delightful experience from beginning to end. I'm always so shocked that this is all going down in Cottleville! We'll be back many times, if we're lucky.

After a whole lot of research, knowing I wanted scallops for a main, I chose The Crossing. Our meal started with a complimentary offering of their bleu cheese soufflé with crisps and bread service--both delicious. I enjoyed a glass of their current "by the glass" Chardonnay, and my boyfriend got a Yeungling (poured table-side). I got my scallops, as planned, which certainly did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly, fresh and delicious. The wilted romaine seemed odd at first but totally rounded out the potato mash at the base, with the absolute flavor-bomb of the shiitakes. Highly recommend this dish any day! My boyfriend opted for the NY Strip; we both agreed it was one of the best steaks we'd ever had; seasoned perfectly and cooked masterfully. There was a slight mishap whereby a food runner gave him a tasting portion of the strip (likely meant for another table); we first didn't realize and were very disappointed with the size. However, without a word from us, the chef came out and personally explained, apologized, and corrected--I didn't snap a photo of the full portion when it came out, but it was perfect and much more what we expected. That brings me to the service, which was spectacular. Several staff members gave us a personal touch and they all seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. The space is beautiful and intimate. It was moderately busy and still quiet. The atmosphere feels upscale, but not pretentious or unapproachable. This place was on my radar for a long time, and I sure wish I'd gone long ago. If you're thinking about it, just go!! I can't wait to come back and try the chefs tasting menu--thank you for a wonderful dinner!
