After arriving at the restaurant with our party of 6, we had a little bit of of a wait, and understandably so. The place was packed just like all of the other times we've been here, and for good reason. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server, Elissa was her name, but I'm not 100% positive on the spelling of her name. Immediately she matched the aura at our table, as if she was part of our group. Her service and attitude was like I'd rarely seen before. I can't say how much joy she brought to our dinner, it's hard to describe but was wonderful to experience. She is the epitome of any customer service role out there. We had salads, pizza, garlic cheese bread, and toasted raviolis. The food was great as expected. Our drinks were always full. Even though we moved from Jefferson County 2 years ago, we will continue to make the trip to enjoy the food and atmosphere, no matter the wait time. I ILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS AGAIN Anyone who knows me knows how much I have loved Pogolino's since I growing up as a kid in Crystal City and they also know I will cut a MF off quickly that doesn't respect me. I am not sure who is running @Festus Pogolino's these days but they are doing a crappy job and are very rude. I went to Sacred Heart and St. Pius and Pogolinos's used to be our hangout spot after my volleyball and basketball games nearly 30 years ago. I do not even live in Festus anymore and would drive from St. Louis often to order pizza from them. Along with my sisters when they'd come to town we would visit and then go get Pogolino's I and my huge Catholic family, kids, nieces, nephews and cousins all went there. I say WENT because when I relay what happened to me recently that is business gone. Festus Pogolinos customer service has become a joke. So over 2 weeks ago I placed two separate orders for pizzas which I picked up curbside. The man who ran my card said it didn't process when he swiped and that he would need to go in to run the card. That's fine I say. He goes in runs the card brings out the pizzas cool I think until yesterday I check my account and see the 2 orders had processed and were deducted from my account however a 3rd transaction was pending. I call my bank and they tell me that it will fall off in no more than 30 days as long as the restaurant doesn't push it through but stated that I should call Pogolinos's to get an authorization to have the funds released. I immediately call Poges and am told the owner will call me in the morning. She called and this was the conversation Me:thank you for getting back to me I had a transaction for $$ amount on Aug 2 that is pending can you help me with this Pogolinos's: I don't see a third charge so I can't send you an authorization Me: I can send you a screenshot of it along with the processed charges would that help Pogolino's: I can send you a screenshot of what I have and give it to the owner Me: please where should I send this information Pogolino's: I said we can't do anything about it now because I don't see the transaction and this has never happened to anyone before (whole time bad attitude) Me: That's fine could you please have the owner contact me since I am working and can't go back and forth with you. If you cannot help me I don't want to put up with the attitude (the whole time she is yelling over me telling me she can't do anything and that she is working too) Pogolino's: I'm working too and don't have time to deal with this (she puts someone else on the phone yet she is supposed to be the manager) New Pogolino's person: She can't deal with this now she is busy Me: okay well can you give me the number or email address to send my screenshot of the pending charges and have the owner contact me back New Pogolino's person: She already told you we can't do anything about it now so just give me your phone number so the owner can call you Me: you all have my number she just called me, she was supposed to be giving me a contact number or email where I can send the pending transaction information for the owner to look into an authorization (starts shouting over me "we can't do anything right now") New Pogolino's person: you know what you're just prolonging this and I'm not going to do this (she hangs up) 6 minutes of me being yelled at told what they could not do and refusing to accept an email or phone number for me to send the information needed to have my funds released all of which could have been resolved in under a minute by simply saying here is the contact information or I've not done this before let me have the owner look into. For all the years and miles I have put on my car to go to Festus just for Pogolino's pizza I would have expected better. I will give credit where credit is due for the pizzas they serve but this last interaction put a BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH and at this point it's not even the money it's the lack of customer service or appreciation I'd rather eat IMO's Sincerely, A lost customer of over 40 years read more

Listen I know that being from STL I should be a loyal Imos lover. But this place is just from some reason better. There are two locations that I know of one in Festus(my favorite) and then there is Desoto. Really can't say much about that much location other than its location, every county has their shit hole.. this one is ours. Not sorry. If your gunna gripe about the service, remember this, its horrendous everywhere. Bars and restaurants for some reason are still short staffed. Just like are first responders are. This is fresh handmade dough pizza with very good and fresh ingredients. This pizza is the standard I judge all others by. While I admit I have had a few better, but I have paid more for them. You won't spend too much, and it's way tastier than chain delivery pizza. The BBQ sauce base tastes awesome! The chicken and Canadian bacon are quality toppings. Atmosphere is sorely lacking. The table settings and decor are so cheap and don't live up to the quality of the fresh, flavorful food. Beer selection is poor. A few domestics, and Blue Moon for "variety" ...just Blue Moon. We wanted salad before the meal, but nothing on menu looked worth ordering. Just the typical, bare minimum garden/Caesar salads-- nothing sounded special or inspired. The dinner plates are silly small! I was laughing. No grown-up sized plates?? Service and speed were wonderful, even though the place was packed, we felt well taken care of. There were several HUGE groups of people there, so it's a perfect place for parties. Waitress warned us that the wait for food would be 10 minutes longer than normal because of the big groups there, but we didn't feel like we waited very long at all for pizza to come out. Location is nice since you can walk to shops and bars on Main Street. The logo (a clown on a pogo stick) and bowls of free cheap candy at the register made this place feel more like a family restaurant than a nice date place, even though the quality of the food is definitely date-worthy!
