I particularly like the take and bake chocolate croissants.
    Kenneth Z.

I went to Providence recently and was very saddened to hear that they now only use plant-based butter in their pastries and croissants. A complete mistake. They also no longer make béchamel sauce for their ham and cheese croissants and if they're take & bake croissants use plant baked butter And they're not good when I bake them. I won't have any reason to go back. Sad because I loved the place this place.

Petite Provence has kept its place at the top of my list of favorite places for breakfast, and it's probably the spot where I've impressed the most visitors to the city. They maintain a smallish menu, making sure everything on offer is done flawlessly. It's also a terrific place to grab a bag full of pastries to go, or get a special loaf of bread. Everything about this place makes me wonder why I let too much time go by between visits.

We ordered 2 coffee , hot chocolate and some of Bakery because we just had Lunch and looking for place to eat dessert. The Bakery was good but service kind of disappointed me. I've been to other locations and got a good service but not this Location :(

Top of the to-do list for our weekend trip

Great spot! Definitely come if you like bakery/breakfast vibes with extra flare of French atmosphere! The wait staff was very friendly, thank you (Sunday am 2/18) - quick to seat us (we got in right before the rush 9am) got our drinks, gave us time to decide on our food, which came out promptly. As well as the pre breakfast croissant and post breakfast cake! We'll def try another spot to try out their other delicious plate options we didn't get this time. (My Fiance wants to get the pistachio croissant again FOR SURE!)

Visited here while on a road trip from Canada! I had seen a friend of mine post picture from this restaurant for years and years so I knew I HAD to visit it on our mega summer Roadtrip! Unfortunately none of the items I had drooled over for years were on the menu but that didn't stop us from buying our the bakery for road treats, their famous raspberry jam, and of course a sit down meal! Thank goodness we were a party of 3 so we could try a variety! They seriously need to offer 1/2 size plates because the portions are huge! The raspberry mojito brioche French toast was out of this world! Very sweet (as described) so nice to split with a dining buddy. My teen loved her BLT croissant and soup. And me, I opted for the Monte Cristo. However, I found it quite eggy and heavy. It may be the perfect sandwich for you but for me it was too dense. Regardless the food was all made from scratch with love! The sides we opted for were soup and fresh fruit. I would've loved to try a dessert here but we couldn't even finish our lunch plates. I will 100% be back if ever in the vicinity again. Great homemade French food, inviting and relaxed ambience, and great service! What more could you ask for?

Went for breakfast with a friend and we both really enjoyed the ambiance. Both of us also agreed this would be a place we would take our mothers for breakfast if they were in town. The food was excellent as well as the service! I really enjoyed the Salmon Hash. It was enough for 2 breakfasts so I took half home.

The West Coast Benedict ($20.50) was great! Comes with salmon and avocado. I personally like this more than the classic ham. I love that their Benedict's come with croissants instead of muffins. So buttery & flaky! Pro tip: ask for hollandaise sauce on the side, so your croissants don't get soggy. Mimosas are a must at brunch, can't go wrong with OJ but they have other juice options as well.

I had a nice breakfast experience here with my niece and sister-in-law for her birthday! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service truly stood out. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive--she not only suggested a delicious mimosa flight flavor (which we loved!), but she also went the extra mile to have my BFK made iced, just how I like it. The food was great, the drinks were fun, and the service made our celebration feel extra special.

Came here for a brunch date after hearing raving remarks from my boyfriend and I loved it. It was a bit difficult to find parking at this location as it may get a bit busy and there's only street parking, but it's not the end of the world. Walking into the store, there's a bakery and restaurant portion. After getting seated, we decided to order their Wild Northwest Salmon Hash, La Provence Benedict, and a croissant (as they were supposedly very good). Although it was a bit slow, service was so kind. The food itself was delicious. It wasn't so out of the extraordinary, but it was definitely hearty, delicious, and perfect to enjoy with good company. Their croissants were also pretty good (but not the best I've had). All in all, I would definitely come back and it is a favorite for brunch and catching up with friends.

    Smoked salmon Benedict

Food is good but VERY expensive for what you get. The restaurant is cute, clean and always busy. It took an exceptionally long time to get our food. I would assume they had extra staff on a Labor Day weekend but apparently not. It's a different place to take friends or family from out of town but because of the prices I can't see going here in a regular basis.

    Rebecca B.

One of my favorite French-style bakeries! I love the salmon hash, and their mimosa flights are a lot of fun. I enjoy surprising friends with pastries for their birthdays, and on this particular day, I did just that, along with some coffee. The service and ambiance are always amazing!

Spectacular heavy cream biscuit with local Oregon strawberries and a lovely whipped cream, legit, not the aerosolized kind. I highly recommend starting your day with this. We also shared the shredded pork eggs Benedict. I liked it a lot, although I generally appreciate a bit more lemon taste in hollandaise sauce, but this hollandaise was so creamy, smooth and flavorful, I'm not mad. The breakfast potatoes served with this are very tasty - delightfully seasoned and perfectly cooked - crispy outside and fluffy inside. The coffee was very good. Our server, Jared B., was great; just enough interaction to be sure we had what we needed at all times, and as personable as he was efficient. Beautiful location that was spotless and comfortable.

We got here at 10am on a Monday, and every table was filled. It looked like they had numerous staff, but I would guess that the traffic level must be hard to manage. Perhaps because of this, my order of Sawmill breakfast was very poorly prepared. The gravy was luke warm at best. The eggs had the texture of frozen powdered egg that was just thawed. The biscuit was like a brick and hard to eat. I also saw numerous other patrons who were leaving their scrambled eggs untouched. The chicken tenders were warm and delicious, and the quiche was decent. Salad was probably the highlight. Besides that, I think the vibes inside the restaurant were very beautiful and memorable. Just unfortunate that the food was very sub par. I probably wouldn't recommend if you were trying to impress someone important.

The garlic fries were spicy in the best way, perfectly crisp, and served steaming hot. The Duck Stack (pancakes covered with duck gravy, onions, and a duck egg) sounded a bit odd to me (and probably many others). When I asked the server if it was good, they told me that people travel to the restaurant specifically for that dish. I'm glad I tried it. Again, very unique with a well balanced spice profile paired with the delicious undertones of a hot pancake. I know I would have never thought of that, doesn't sound like it should work, but....it worked! Service was great, atmosphere was a bit loud with a band playing next door, it was a bit overwhelming, plus a random dude walked into the restaurant and a server lit his joint for him as a courtesy(?)...stunk the place up for a few minutes, but as I thought about it, I decided that was about the most "Portland" thing I had seen all week on my trip :) I'll be going back for sure, I would love to taste through that entire menu.
