First of all the waitress was rude and abrupt, really had no interest in serving us. We acted patiently at our table whilst sitting mosquitoes buzzing around us. My husband asked for a particular brand of beer (from the menu) and was told they didn't have it. So he had to choose another. I ordered a margarita and was told that only had mango ones so I decided to give it a try. Well basically, they poured tequila into a glass and topped it off with mango juice, no ice, no salt, not shaken., so disappointing. We ordered salad to start, after two mouthfuls, I could not eat anymore for the overwhelming taste of garlic and vinegar plus only one slice of cucumber plus, a fly fly kept landing on my salad. I ordered the beef kabobs which were the skinniest I have ever seen and I grew up in the Mediterranean. They were sat on a bed of rice, smothered in their Mayo sauce and one skewer of very sad looking veg. My daughter couldn't eat her chicken as it was so smothered in a garlic sauce and the tap water we were served left a horrible taste in our mouths (I would have paid for bottled water!). The check (Bill) came swiftly after and was slammed on the table without the offer of seeing the dessert menu or to order coffees. It was expensive for poor shoddy service and abrupt staff. The overall hygiene was pretty shocking and I shall never go there again!! read more

Pleasantly surprised. I've had really good Middle Eastern food in Michigan so I was a bit hesitant to try this place when my husband suggested it. The place is pretty spacious and the decor was very nice. We ordered the Petra Gyro Salad- they give you a lot of meat and the salad was very tasty. This is a real salad. I hate when you go to an American restaurant and you order an salad for more than $10 and its sad. This filled me for a long day of walking around Seattle. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. Beef Kabob - My husband got this with a side of lentil soup. OMG the soup was so delicious. One of the best soups I have ever had. So many layers of flavors and the soup had a lot of lentil and rice in it. The rice was very good and was mixed with the garlic sauce. Overall, it was a great experience. I haven't had great Middle Eastern food since moving back from Michigan and this totally hit the spot for me. We went to dinner for the first time here and the food was very good. We started with the traditional hummus which was excellent. We all ordered entrees which included a salad or soup. The lentil soup was very good. Three of us had the shawarma and one had the ouzi and one the prawns. All of the food was well prepared. I can't rate the food excellent only because in my opinion the spices are a little too heavy. The spices are good but I thought they overpowered the dish a little. I think next time I will try the ouzi which didn't appear to be as heavily spiced as the chicken shawarma. We shared a walnut baklava which was very good. The meals are very well-priced. We appreciated being able to enjoy a nice meal without the high prices and small portions of some of the other restaurants. The restaurant is very small so make sure that you make a reservation. I have been to Petra Bistro many times since they opened. I love the lemon garlic chicken and their hummus. The place is very cozy and the staff is very down-to-earth and friendly. I was reading the comments and I was kind of offended by the guy who had the greek burger.I went on and read his comments about other restaurants and I came to the conclusion that he is the kind of guest whom one can never please.(or hardly) I was wondering how good of a cook he is.... This is by far the best Jordanian restaurant I have ever been too in the states. The food is amazing and the ambience and service are great. I had this Jordanian dish called Ouzi which so good I could not stop eating even after I was full. One more thing I was really impressed with is how the ancient city Petra stands out throughout the restaurant even on the long hallway to the restrooms; you really feel the culture and history at Petra. I highly recommend it to every one who likes to enjoy a real meal and good service at very reasonable price. read more

The Petra Mediterranean Bistro was a delight. I had a good experience overall but the food was not quite as advertized. I was really hoping for authentic food that brought back childhood memories :) not exactly but still - from what I was told this was supposed to be one step away from home made. I adore the Garlic Lemon Chicken salad and platter. Never an issue never disappointed - which says a lot. Additionally - their lentil soups are rather amazing. The ambiance is great, the wait staff are friendly and professional, and their prices are adequate. My hubby and I like to come in for dinner too. I have two favorite restaurants in the Seattle area, and this is one of them. They have a fantastic vegetarian selection and the flavors/spices in all their dishes are just heavenly. Our first course consisted of 3 dips, grilled medjool dates, anchovies with sourdough, and unlimited pita bread. All of the dips were delicious, and the grilled medjool dates were one of my favorites of the meal. Our second course were summer tomatoes, shaved kohlrabi, and grilled little gems salad with nectarines, and dill emulsion dressing. All of them were so refreshing, and the flavors were on point. The summer tomatoes were sweet. We were already pretty full at this point. Our third course were roasted chicken with chili-fruit paste, and grilled pork with rainier cherry. The chicken was super tender, the chili-fruit paste was not spicy, just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The grilled pork was tender and sweet, it was definitely one of my favorites. Desserts were ice cream and warm cookie with sweet cream. It was absolutely tasty and a great end to the meal. Our server was very attentive and nice. We didn't feel rushed during our time dining here. Overall, the restaurant was super worth the long wait, and I love all the dishes I tried that day.

I arrived 20 minutes before opening and was first in line. One friend joined me 10 minutes later. At 5pm it was just the two of us, so I asked for a table for 4 and explained that I'd happily order food and drinks for everyone immediately, even though the rest of the group was still fighting the weekday traffic. The hostess refused, so we stepped aside. 2 minutes later our 3rd friend arrived. I asked the group behind us if they minded us getting back in line. They laughed and said it was no problem because they had just had their 3rd person arrive as well. When I got back in line, the hostess deliberately skipped over me and called the next group instead. After seating them, I stopped her and asked for a table for 3. She asked if it would "really" be just 3. At that point I honestly didn't know. Our 4th friend was driving from Everett and had texted that she was stuck in standstill traffic. I said yes, seat the 3 of us. The hostess told us to wait while she seated yet another group, taking the last indoor table. We were then placed outside on a hot day. Despite how the evening started, I did exactly what I'd said I would. We ordered dinner for the entire group, including 2 bottles of wine to avoid inconveniencing them with making drinks. Then, incredibly, the hostess came back to our table and removed the 4th chair to make absolutely sure our last friend couldn't join us if she arrived. It felt petty, unnecessary, and frankly embarrassing. What should have been a joyful reunion became a stressful experience because of one person's rigid and unwelcoming attitude. The food was equally inconsistent. The labneh was extremely sour and came with cold, slightly stale pita. The squid & lamb were overly salty. The kohlrabi with peaches was so aggressively smoky that we left almost the entire dish untouched. The mushrooms were fine. The grilled pork was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. The cod was just okay, and the desserts were average. We spent ~$500 for the meal. People don't spend this kind of money just for the food. The price reflects the entire experience, and that's where this restaurant failed. The service felt cold, impersonal, and overly focused on rules instead of hospitality. Rather than making guests feel welcome, the hostess made us feel like a problem she had to manage. I've had warmer, friendlier service at fast food restaurants. I won't be returning, and I took the time to write this review because no meal, especially one marking such a meaningful reunion, should be overshadowed by such an unnecessarily unpleasant welcome.

Bar menu food items are 50% off, featured glasses of red, white, or rosé are $8.50, beer pints are $6.95, and they also have specials on oysters, wine, and Champagne. A few of us ordered the featured rosé while others went with the featured red. Since we were with a group, we ordered several dishes to share, including the grilled octopus, beef carpaccio, beet salad, Margherita pizza, and the cheese and olive selection. I personally tried the Polpo Grigliato, which is grilled Mediterranean octopus served with chickpea-lemon vellutata, gigante beans, and chimichurri; the Carpaccio al Profumo di Rafano, made with Snake River Farms American wagyu beef, Parmigiano, horseradish, and arugula; and the Formaggi, a selection of cheeses and olives. Everything I tried was delicious, but that octopus was easily my favorite! It was flavorful, tender, and definitely the standout dish for me. The restaurant itself is spacious, although the patio is on the smaller side. We had a larger group, so we had to make a tight squeeze work, but we did! The patio is also a perfect spot for people watching, especially on a nice day. Our server was attentive throughout our visit and gave us great recommendations, which made the experience even better. For happy hour, the prices are wonderful, especially considering the quality of the food and drinks. I can't speak to the value of a full dinner yet, but based on this experience, I'd absolutely come back and check out the dinner menu during one of my next Seattle visits. The issue came at the end, when we got our bill. Two of the items were 3-4$ more than the prices listed on our menu. When I asked the server about this, she let me know that we had been given old menus with old happy hour prices by mistake- and it seemed like she thought this would be the end of it. I stated that this wasn't really cool, and at that point she said she'd speak to a manager. A manager then came over and said she couldn't refund any items, but she could offer us free dessert. She also gave me a little extra wine. I appreciate this gesture for sure, however, comping an item would've been definitely preferred, as we were already quite full from the meal and items we had planned to eat. Or, better yet, since we found out that the prices had changed in *January* and we were there in June, ensure that all the old menus are removed so customers can make informed decisions about cost when ordering their meals.
