Small side of tzatziki and pita bread. DELICIOUS!

I cannot say enough about this place! I always order the salmon plate. The rice and omg the grilled vegetables. Never did I think I'd be writing a review on vegetables but they are amazing!!! Service is always with a smile and usually very quick. The space itself is small, but that doesn't knock anything off the review, because everything is fantastic every time! The tzatziki, Avgolemono soup, it's all fantastic!

Our family's go to place for a gyro in the east bay. The 9inch gyro is the best. Quick easy tasty!!

I've gone here often. Mostly for gyros. This one was the worst. Big chunks of meat instead of thin slices. Not very friendly either.

I recently went to Petra Cafe. I spent six weeks backpacking in the Middle East including Jordan, Egypt, Israel, and Turkey. My favorite place I visited was Jordan due to the hospitality of the people. Surprisingly Petra Cafe seems to be more influenced by Greek cuisine than Jordanian cuisine. In any event enjoyed my time here. Petra Cafe is a hole in the wall with a few tables indoors and some outdoors. Service was friendly enough. Not too many vegan items on the menu except some sides, falafel sandwich, and opted to go with the Greek Platter. I had it customized vegan by leaving out the Tzatziki and getting more eggplant salad. It was quite alright. I was dining in and they gave me a to go styrofoam container. One room for improvement would be to have better to go wares and would have been nice to have a proper plate when dining in. The food was quite alright. Another room for improvement would be to add more vegan options on the menu.

love coming to petra cafe to get a lamb wrap! the lamb was seasoned well and wrap piping hot! service was good, and quick ambiance is this cafe in orinda square next to the theatres!

Got takeout from this small café and ordered a chicken wrap with garlic fries and a gyros dinner, along with their spicy sauce. The food is always tasty, and the spicy sauce was a great complement. Portions were smaller than our last order, but we still enjoyed everything. We'll be back for another quick and flavorful Greek meal.

I wish there were an updated menu posted somewhere but for starters, a little on the pricey side My order was.... -Troy salad: chicken was super dry and unfortunately burnt. No, it was not charred chicken meat - it was burnt burnt. -Gyro salad: gyro meat was also super dry -Tzatziki: pretty good, missing the chunks of cucumber in it though -Side of grilled vegetables: exactly what you would expect and I'm so glad they were executed well. Unfortunately, I don't have a raving review to give them. If the price point were better there are definitely things I could rave about but $50 for this stings. Salads had minimal substance to them (poorly chopped vegetables, dry feta, not a lot of variety). For the price point, I unfortunately have to knock down the rating

Love their gyros! Try it for sure! Service could be nicer. They don't seem very happy. The food makes up for it that's for sure!

Just moved to Orinda and stumbled on a total hidden gem!…read more It's not your typical café, but that's what makes it great. They've got a really solid lineup of grab-and-go meals, drinks, and snacks that actually taste fresh. Everything I've tried so far has been super flavorful and clearly made with quality ingredients. What really sets them apart though are the take-and-bake meals. You can order ahead, bring it home, and have a legit, home-cooked-style dinner without the hassle. Perfect for busy weekdays! The owners are incredibly friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about what they're putting out. They also run a catering business, which makes total sense once you try the food. If you're local and haven't checked it out yet, you're missing out.

The service was courteous and friendly , I love. The large tables to share with whoever especially as I stepped in as a singleton. Parking can be tricky so don't be phased by the muscles out in front of the second hand shop store (of all the places ... Orinda an a second hand store employ this and what this to be their front of house - tut tut such a bad look) anyways this is not Genuine Goodness ' fault and you just park ANYWHERE where it is legal in the whole parking lot. Hit it on a Sunday late afternoon, which turned out to be the move if you want a quiet early dinner. We ordered the grilled fish tacos, the beet salad, and the mushroom pizza, and everything was tasty. The fish was cooked right on, flaky and clean, with fresh pico on top. Plenty of food for the three dishes between us. Service was good and the staff was friendly without hovering. The space has a cool wood and corrugated metal look, with sports gear and brewery signs on the walls. There's a full bar with a solid beer list, a decent wine selection, and indoor or patio seating depending on your mood. Valet parking out front is a nice touch. Our server said Friday and Saturday nights get packed, with live music and good people watching, so the vibe shifts depending on when you go. Sunday afternoon was mellow and easy. If you want the energy, hit it on a weekend. If you want to actually hear the person across from you, go when we did. Going back to check out the live music for myself.

When we asked our waitress for silverware, she responded by asking if we needed more, even though none had been provided in the first place. We also had to ask for straws four separate times and never received them. When the appetizer plates finally arrived, they were still wet and we had to dry them ourselves before using them. Throughout the meal, our waitress rarely checked on our table, making it difficult to get anything we needed. While we enjoyed the food, the poor service made the overall experience disappointing. Unless there are significant improvements in service, we will not be returning.

I was here on a short business trip and stopped by for a meal because I was craving Mexican food. Looking at the menu, I was amazed at the different options and variety of drinks they offered. Had to try the Ube horchata, birria, burritos, and the tacos. Everything came out pretty quickly and the meats were tender, good quality, and filling. I would say the ube horchata was refreshing, but after a while, it felt too sweet for me. I'm not complaining about getting such a big cup of it, but I definitely think 2 people can share 1 drink and be really satisfied. I also got some carne asada fries (not pictured), and those were also bomb. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the friendly staff, food, and was pleasantly surprised at my experience. Will definitely come back!
