Let me make this review simple and to the point- Great food, great hookah, terrible service to go along to ruin the experience. Husband asked for a refill, waitress response: "sure". She never came back with a refill. We politely remind a passing gentleman, he says he would need to charge for a refill, which we said was fine. He never returns with the refill. I get up and communicate my frustration after 30 min from the initial refill request, the response without exaggeration was "you are supposed to get up and ask, it's a busy night". She even took it further towards the end of the conversation to add "we can have the owner reach out to you but honestly he will just laugh at you." What's worst? She is the "manager" of the place. She refused to share her name. It's quite upsetting when establishments become popular and feel somewhat entitled in the sense that they no longer value making effort to deliver decent service. They're already well reviewed and have a popping place, what's a few mistreated customers going to do, right? Shocking experience to say the least. read more

I was in town for just an hour and a half stop in part to grab lunch before hitting the road. This restaurant was within walking distance from where we parked and the menu looked good. Well, plain and simple - the food was decent, the service was terrible. The service completely turned a good experience into a frustrating one that would assure I'd never return or recommend this place to anyone. The guy we ordered from was nice enough. I ordered a burger and asked that instead of fries, if I could have a salad to go with it. He pointed to the side salad below and from what I understood, for $4 extra i could sub the salad. That didn't end up being the case. There was one other table of 4 people there who had already received their food yet we waited awhile for our simple dishes. My friend, who ordered food alongside of me, received her meal and then we waited on mine....and waited. I politely asked one if the waitresses there to check on how much longer I'd have to wait for my food and while she acknowledged my inquiry, she never inquired or got back to me. Instead, she walked behind the bar and had her phone in hand and face glued to the screen. It was flat out rude and inappropriate but was what she did the majority of the time we were at the restaurant. My burger finally came about 5 minutes later, with fries and a salad - not what I thought I ordered but this lunch was already taking up so much more time than we had planned or allotted. Once we finished our meals, I asked the same waitress for a to-go container and she again acknowledged my request, walked by a table and picked up a dirty dish or two and then went behind the counter and had her face in her phone again. I was fed up at this point. I was pissed at myself for giving them a generous tip on my small bill up front when ordering the meal. I regret doing that After walking up to the bar to ask again for a to-go container she finally walked back to grab one for me and then continued on her phone. I should also mention that the place was hot and humid and sitting there to eat was unpleasant. It was clear that there was no one in charge, no accountability and no care for providing the most basic service to customers. Do yourself a favor and move along to another restaurant with a more pleasant dining experience and just as good of food. read more

This is place is a simple gem off state street, everything from the fresh Mediterranean menu to burgers, and great beer selection this place definitely delivers in all categories not to mention it's open later for all hard working retail/ hospitality workers in Santa Barbara. We saw an attractive couple dining in the window, and thought, "Why not?" Early on NYE, we stumble in for drinks. Welcoming, sexy little spot. Music is at a great volume, not too loud but atmospheric. Tasteful decorations, and a very friendly staff. They have a wide variety of draft beers, 24 on tap, and humored me while I debated, even giving me a sample to help me decide. My boyfriend ordered a Spiced Russian and it's festive af. I like that they were open late on a Thursday night and still served food at 10:30. I also loved that there were a stack of games to play with and even though the place was busy, we were able to find seats. I didn't like that we had to bus our own tables and that the food took 40+ minutes to arrive. The table behind us actually clapped when their food finally arrived. Also, they serve fries with this weird ketchup that tasted like beer? I thought it was disgusting and left a bitter after taste but they didn't have regular ketchup so I had to eat my fries plain. Ate here with my family a few weeks ago. Waitress took our order and did not write anything down. In general, this is a terrible thing to do. If the order goes in wrong, then our meal is messed up and we are unhappy. If everything comes out correctly, we are still stressed the whole time we are waiting because we suspect something will likely be wrong. There is absolutely no upside to doing this. We just want a relaxing meal. So what happened next? One of our three meals was forgotten. My wife did not get her order. There was also no cutlery (silverware) on the table so we asked waitress #2 if she could get us some. Waitress #1 is now on break. Waitress #2 did not come back for about 10 minutes and did not bring any silverware with her. We asked again and then she got it. I guess she is forgetful too. At this point, we have a missing meal and two meals getting cold. At the end of dinner, there was an apology but no responsibility taken....just "I don't know how this happened" and "it looks like the order was not in the computer". I wonder how that possibly could have happened, we thought. Hmmm, a real mystery. The missing meal came eventually. We were still charged in full for everything. If any management from this restaurant is reading..please please fix this policy. Came in 15 minutes before they were supposed to close (Santa Barbara Brewing told us to go away at 10:45 - supposed to be open until 12) and the bartender/owner said he'd be here "as long as we were here". Went here yesterday at 5p and there was about 5 customers inside, 1 out back. I had to tell the bartender my drink order 4 times (Lost Cost Hazy IPA) before he was able to serve it to me. I've never had that happen anywhere before, especially at a place that had no crowd. The falafel sandwich was, meh, okay, with high school cafeteria style fries. We picked this restaurant for dinner because it was close to our rental and they were open late. It exceeded our expectations! The food was amazing!!! I'm a sucker for grape leaves, but not just any grape leaves! These were perfection. They shawarma bowl had the best combination of spices and flavors and was very filling. My husband savored the kofta wrap. The owner is Jordanian and was very friendly and attentive. We congratulated him on such a great restaurant that offers a fun atmosphere (board games available) and delicious food. Almost forgot to mention the mixed drinks!
