The Foxtail continues to be a local favorite for me! I'm so glad they have multiple patios available during COVID. The drinks are wonderful and unique and some of my favorites, as well as one of a kind dishes like the shawarma bowl, and the couscous salad. We were recommended to go here to watch the fight. As soon as we got there the door the locked. No sign outside or anything. Someone finally opened the door and they told us $25. The guy behind the bar was telling the hostess to lock the door and not let anyone else in. As we were thinking about what we wanted to do a group somehow got In and that hostess told them it was 10$. Another guy behind the bar was yelling at a customer because he didn't pay . Was in SB for lunch and decided to check this place out. Big reason was parking was easy since it was free for the first 75 mins. My wife and I ordered hummus to start and it was amazing! I order the bacon burger and it did not disappoint. The bacon was crispy and the patty was juicy. My wife order the sharwma warp. I didn't eat any of my wife food since she ate all of it hahaha so I believe she was happy with it too. read more

This place is amazing! I am from Detroit, which is ripe with great middle eastern food and have had a hard time without it in SB. I love the atmosphere in Zaytoons but the food is expensive and mediocre. Foxtail definitely tops it. The fattoush is supreme and the hummus amazing. We also tried the falafel burger and it was great. The drinks were well done too. I really encourage you to try it - too many good places have not made it due to SB rent and this one is worth supporting. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday. Sat at the bar and ordered Hummus. I had a nice conversation with bartender/server. She was very engaging and seemed professional. Besides the hummus, I had put in an order for the Chicken Sharma dinner. Everything was pleasant until, a highly and severely inebriated older man came staggering in. He sat at the bar, a few stools down,. The server made him some kind of cocktail, and he started talking loud and slurring and spitting while he was loudly slurring his words. I was very uncomfortable. The man started saying very bizarre drunken things to me, in which I gestured to the server to come to me, and I told her that this man should not have been served any alcohol. He was in such bad shape that he should not have been served at all. She just looked confused and giggled. The man continued to harass me, and this time making a racial comment- to which I told the server to cancel my additional order, that she did not handle this situation properly or professionally, that I was being harassed and her drunken customer just spewed out some twisted racial slurs at me- and that I was leaving- She said she canceled my order and still looked uninterested by the incident. The next day I saw on my bank statement that I was charged. I've called to speak with the manager or owner to explain the situation but no one has returned my call. Very disgusted by this experience. read more

Such a lovely spot! Relaxing atmosphere mellow, delightful music and awesome food. We had the mezze platter, shawarma, rice and salad. So good! And there are games to play - jenga , backgammon, uno, you name it! And the owner brought us complimentary baklava. We loved being there. read more

Such a fan! I stumbled on this little treasure about a month ago. A friend and I stopped by on a slow night to check it out. We ended up sharing a few drinks because their menu is so unique! I decided to ask if they do parties there as my birthday was around the corner. They allow you to make a reservation online (for parties of 6 or more). The staff is very kind and fun, and they do an amazing job on their cocktails. If you're looking for a great cocktail place with a good atmosphere this is your place. When my husband got up to order at the bar, he was IGNORED by the only two bartenders working. I couldn't believe it. I have never had this kind of experience ever. We ended up walking out. Not a lot of places make a good old fashioned anymore but the bartender I got, Matt (tallish skinny guy, I think he's Pilipino and Mexican or something) made it like its supposed to be.. simple with after notes of feeling like a king.. One of my favorite places to go when I'm in Santa Barbara. I came back when it was named the American Ale House. The service is still high quality, and the food was delicious. You should check this place out. My girlfriend and I went to try it; Friends recommended the walnut old fashioned and it was excellent. I love foxes so I was really digging the theme and I'd say the ambiance was similar but an improvement over American Ale. Very good arabic/fusion food! We need more middle eastern food in town and the prices were very fair. The grape leaves were super tasty but the falafel wrap was even better. The baklava, though, was incredible.
