This is a great spot. The food was fantastic. The kids had the pizza is adults had the beef kabob plate/combo and pesto chicken pizza. It was delicious. Steak kabobs were tender and lean fell apart easy. It was all a great experience service was excellent as well. Wife and kids were in the car with the dogs I waiting out side for a bit and they brought it out the back door that's great service. Definitely recommended. read more

My favorite restaurant in my little mountain town. They are closed on Sundays (like many restaurants and shops in Tehachapi), so we aware of that upfront. Food is delicious and our go-to place when we have guests visiting and want to pick up a quick lunch or dinner. Their hummus is SO good. I buy it sometimes by itself and add it to homemade wraps throughout the week. So tasty! My favorites are their Greek chicken salad, gyro pita, & shawarma combo plate (the meat is chicken, beef & lamb). It always hits the spot, and the staff and owner are very nice and accommodating of any special requests I make. Also, their mint iced tea is PERFECT for a hot summer day! YUM! read more

Excellent down home middle eastern eatery. The tabbouleh and hummus are great, and often I just make a meal out of that. The beef kebabs are amazing. In fact all the kebabs are amazing, and you get a lot with the plate meals. The baklava is also delicious when it's not sold out! The owner is not super friendly but takes orders with efficiency. The ladies on the staff are always nice. The only thing I'd like is real saffron rice, but that would probably also drive the price up. I hear the french fries are good but have never tried them myself. Location is great and when the patio is in shade it is a nice place to sit in the center of downtown and watch the world go by. They have expanded into the space next door so there is good seating inside now, don't have to wait for it typically. I grew up with home cooked middle eastern food and I can say that this place is very good restaurant food. You'll walk away very satisfied. read more

The place seemed dirty and the big sweaty guy behind the counter with his shirt unbuttoned half way down allowing his chest hair hang out did nothing for our appetites. We took a chance and ordered anyways. I had chicken shawarma and my son got some other chicken wrap. It was so bad we threw it away and left after about three bites. Everyone I've talked to just raves about this place but I will never go again. I even asked the girl who brought my food to me what she likes and she just smiled and said she doesn't eat there. Garlic fries were great. Ordered 2 lamb/beef gyros and they were huge. Hubs and I didn't care for them though. There was mint in the yogurt sauce. Neither of us are mint fans so we didn't eat much and I only tasted one little bite of lamb. But if mint is your thing and huge portions you will love this place. read more

Had the Chicken Schwarma Sandwich - it was more than enough for 3 meals! the Chicken was tender and very flavorful-had been marinated in spices. Really good. They also put hummus on the sandwich, and it said it was on Lavash bread, but I didn't realize it would be an entire lavash. Really too big for one meal. My husband had the lamb kebob with rice, hummus and cucumber salad. We shared fries that appeared to be home-made, not out of a freezer bag. Really good food. We were told about this place by a friend and also looked up reviews on Yelp. We were very pleasantly surprised to find really good Mediterranean food. One of my favorite is Baba Ganouj so I had to try it here. It was so fresh and delicious, I also asked them to add a little fresh garlic on top (can never have too much garlic). I eat at Petra's every chance I get. Their falafel wrap is delicious and HUGE. They cut it in half for me and it's big enough to share and still feel full. Everything here is home made and the couple who run it couldn't be nicer. My son loves the lamb kabobs; I've never had them, but he says they're great. I always make sure to call in my order about 20 minutes before I want it, because it takes a while for made-from-scratch good food to be prepared. read more

Great little spot in the center of the older part of town. Portion sizes are great, and food was good! Had the chicken kabob plate with rice, pita, Mediterranean salad, humus, and tzatziki. This place has one of the best tasty foods in town. They have a Awesome Greek salad with a dressing that is very very yummy. Their baklava is so good.
