Came in on a Tuesday night with my friend. Athena was nice and patient as we (or really, my friend) took nearly an hour selecting a piece to paint. They had a decent selection of ceramics. Whimsical pieces on one side, and dishes on the other. Prices ranged from $4 to $30, and that excludes the $9.75 studio fee. It was a fun experience. Craving some Mommy and Me time, I took my 4 yr old daughter here for a little arts n' craft sesh a while back. $20 paid for the "studio fee", including an $8 mug she chose to paint -- uhh $8, really? Could have brought a plain mug myself for way less. However they do have the buy 3 get one free deal, which is cool. Still think it's kinda pricey, but I'll happily fork over the cash to tap into my Mini's artistic side. Big layout, lots of colors to choose from paint-wise, cool stencils and stamps to use, and a fairly chill vibe. Whether you come with one kidlet or bring a big group, the staff is always accommodating and welcoming. I took my three daughters (ages 7, 4, and 7 months) here to paint piggy banks. The entire staff was fantastic, both on the phone and in person. There was a large selection of items to paint. The employee I spoke with on the phone even quoted prices for me before we came in and let us know what they had in stock. My daughters settled on a large unicorn, a cupcake, and a whale. All the pieces were very high quality and adorable. There was a very large selection of colors, tools, and brushes to choose from. Everything was well-kept and clean. We spent several hours painting our pieces. The staff was helpful and patient the entire time. They took the time to explain various techniques to my daughters and it was obvious they wanted us to have an enjoyable experience, which we did! We painted on a Monday afternoon and our pieces were ready ahead of their Thursday evening pick-up time. I was a little nervous about how our pieces would turn out (considering my daughters' ages and lack of painting experience), but was so very pleasantly surprised when we picked our pieces up. They made sure to let us inspect our lives first before beautifully wrapping them for the ride home. They have a rewards card system where after three sittings your get a forth sitting free. Called and asked if they took reservations; the gentleman I spoke with informed me that in order to get a reservation it needed to be a party of 6 or more. Then asked what time I'd be coming in. I told him about 30 min. He told me he would go ahead and reserve a table to me. I was impressed by his customer service. He didn't have to reserve a table for me but he did. When we got there, We were greeted and an employee showed us to our table. A gentleman by the name of Richard explained how things worked. He was extremely friendly and pleasant. Throughout our time at the table, employees changed out our water and checked in to see how we were doing. When it was time to check out, a very friendly young lady helped checked us out. I believe her name was Megan. She asked us if we enjoyed our time and had fun. She was so nice. I really like this place but it is a little pricy. Will be back. read more

I came here on an early Friday evening with my almost 4 y/o niece. The 2 girls there dealt and communicated with enough for her to understand the painting process. They were very sweet, nice, and have good customer service. The space is open and clean. Brushes, paints, stencils, stamps, and other painting tools are all centrally located for convenience. There are 3 sinks to wash your hands and tools as needed, with a stool for little ones to reach. It was $7 or $7.95 for kids to paint and $9.95 for adults (if you chose to paint your own) plus price of the ceramic piece. It was fun and engaging enough for me and a toddler. We were help by Erika who really took time with my granddaughter and found her something to paint. She constantly keep coming back to our table and encouraging my granddaughter. Brought a group of 11 kids and 7 adults to paint. It was so much fun! We like to host a Christmas craft party annually, but this year my daughter had been asking to paint at Petroglyph so we invited her friends to paint with us instead of hosting at our house. Jen, Erika, and Victoria were so helpful to our group! They helped the kids get settled and start their projects, then they helped the adults. Masks were mandatory, which was a good safety measure, and the staff prepared paint plates for us with our color choices. read more

My Christmas gift to a 5 yo nephew was a day at Petroglyph. Besides a huge selection of supplies and pieces to paint, they offer several different techniques to try out. The staff is extremely helpful, esp. if you get in over your head. My nephew chose a fairly complex technique, so Stephanie on staff stepped right up to offer guidance and, when needed, hands-on assistance. Watching the two of them interact was delightful - she focused on him having an positive and upbeat experience while learning something new at the same time. We ordered pieces to take and paint. When we ordered on line we didn't see any indication that you had to use their paint in order for them to fire the pieces nor was it a part of the ordering process if you wanted to have them fired.When we dropped off the painted pieces they informed us they couldn't fire as we didn't use their paint. One of us had ordered paint but it wasn't enough for either of the pieces to be completely painted. We were informed that the was a piece of paper in our bag that told us about needing to use their paint. We never saw the paper. Why put a piece of paper in the bottom of the bag and let us leave to find this all out. Of course we now have pieces not completed due to the lack of info and customer service on the staff assisting us. Very disappointed! read more

Such a unique place and SUPERIOR customer service. My friend of 68 yrs had her daughter suddenly pass away several years ago. Her daughter had hand painted a ceramic tile at Petroglyph for her for Mother's Day. A few weeks ago, the tile accidentally fell and broke. As a treasured memory for my friend, I took it to Petroglyph to inquire if they could possibly repair it. They did!! Caitlyn and Lee helped us and we're so efficient and incredibly friendly. I was so pleased with how the tile was repaired and there wasn't even a charge. My friend was so happy and teared up when I returned it to her. This business is one of a kind! Tori helped us that day and even with an injured foot Managed to help us with everything we needed, from picking out which ceramic piece to paint to fulfilling our paint color needs. She made the experience here even better with her friendly customer service and her tips and tricks to make the most of our masterpieces. This place was so much fun, and relaxing too. My daughter and I arrived at about 11 am on a Saturday, and there was a cute older couple on a date. Once they left it was just us two and the very friendly and delightful employee. We had the place to ourselves until about noon, then slowly people started coming in a few at a time. The next thing we knew the whole place was full of a variety of people having a great time. There were grandparents with there grandkids, a group of ladies with their starbucks from a few doors down, and quite a few parents treating their kids to a creative treat. All the staff was friendly and shared different ideas with anyone who needed help. We ended up staying for about four hours and can't wait to go back to pick up my daughter's artwork! I love Petroglyph so much. I would go a lot more often if it wasn't so expensive. They have a nine dollar fee just for you to use their paints, not to mention the $20 I had to pay for my beautiful ceramic mermaid one time (I have no regrets! It turned out beautifully). I love how quiet and relaxing it is there. Except when kids have their birthday parties there. But I love the atmosphere. They have art books for inspiration and a little cave where my little brother can go and watch movies while I paint. The manager is kind of awkward and doesn't have very good social skills, but he's nice. Petroglyph projects make great gifts, so keep that in mind. Overall, I love it. Anyone can feel like an artist there. read more

Tonight I went to Petroglyph with ladies from my local mom's group and some family members. We made a group reservation at least a week in advance. Thankfully they did reserve a nice table for us, but overall I was really unimpressed with my experience. Here's why: 1) When we arrived, we were informed that normally when a group comes in they get a decorative plate but since it wasn't for a birthday, they weren't going to give us one. Ok, first of all, why even mention it if you have no intention of giving it to us? And second, why not just give us a decorative plate that says something besides "Happy Birthday" on it? This was just annoying as we are bring in 10 people to do business there. 2) THEY DID NOT HONOR THE DISCOUNTS MENTIONED ON THEIR WEBSITE! On the Petroglyph website, which I clearly showed the staff member there, it says that discounts are given on the "bisque pieces" (the items you paint) for groups. Despite the fact that their own website says that, when the staff member called her manager, they said that they DO NOT offer discounts. What the heck! It's clearly stated on your own dang website!! 3) Also, for groups you are supposed to have your own dedicated staff person to help your group. We did not get this. We got a brief tutorial on how the place works and that was it. No one checked on us or offered more help after the brief tutorial. To be fair, they did say we could come up to them at any time and ask questions. 4) Overall, I didn't really care for the staff members' attitudes. They didn't seem like they were really trying to work with us, and they weren't that friendly or accommodating. They weren't necessarily rude, they just weren't that helpful, welcoming, or nice. With all these negative things said... as a group we had a good time. It was nice to get together with friends, chat and paint our pottery pieces. The place was clean, there was a wide selection of glaze colors to choose from as well as (extremely pricey) bisque pieces to paint. I wish the staff would've been more friendly and honor what their website says, and for that reason, I don't really think I could recommend this place, but I don't know that I'm to the point that I would swear off the place forever. read more

What a fun little joint for exploring the creative side. My sister and I came here on a sissy outing with the little guy. We had fun picking out pieces and paint colors. Thankfully, baby slept through most of it and actually allowed me to paint his foot to imprint on a stein for Dad. The staff quality is mixed but I've found that to be so common with that generation now that I just learn to expect it. I will say the pricing is a touch on the eep! expensive side. We had a birthday party for our 4 year old son tonight. We had never been to a birthday party here but when our son gets a little "wound up" I take him here and he really calms and focuses on the project and painting. So we decided to have his birthday party there. I can not commend the staff more! My wife called in many times to change the number and they understood. When our son was sick this week and we let them know, they said we could re-schedule! The party turned out to be LEGEN (wait for it) DAIRY! Okay, maybe not that great but it was a party for a 4 year old! I was amazed how focused the kids were for the first hour only getting up from their chairs to get more paint. The staff helped us clean up the table, take the painted pottery away and get ready for cake and presents. I highly suggest Petroglyph for a birthday party.
