These people clearly don't even love animals i don't know why they're in a business for it I can literally see the terror in some of these dogs faces when they walk in here I've taken my dog here twice and both times he had razor burns on his stomach and in his inner legs Also, a poor Pomeranian was being dragged to the back and she spread her arms and feet FLAT to the floor and they were pulling her It was something you would see in a horror film I swear. Also they usually have puppies and kittens in crates and the people who work there do absolutely nothing about them For someone who truly loves animals, it breaks my heart what this establishment does. I'm glad this place is under new ownership. Arthur, the new owner, immediately greeted us when we walked in and heard our concerns about the previous owner. He promised to take the best care of our dog and he did. I've never seen my dog so calm around any stranger. I'm very glad Art is running the show here now and he'll continue to receive my business. I've been coming here with my dog for almost two years now, but sad to say, I won't be back. Generally, they do a good job with the grooming and cleaning. My issue is this: I dropped off my dog yesterday to get a wash and teeth cleaning. I usually take her leash off and hand the dog over to the person behind the counter. Today, I was asked to keep the leash on and just hand the leash over to the guy. He took the leash and my dog, naturally, squatted and refused to walk. The dog was confused as to what was going on. Seeing that my dog was protesting and not walking, instead of picking the dog up (She's a 15 LBS Silky Terrier), he DRAGGED her by her neck for 20 ft until he got the dog to the back and he did this all in front of me like it was businesses as usual. This was incredibly troubling. I stood there speechless. I picked up my dog once the grooming was done and that was the last this place will see of me. read more

We took our dog for hair cut and grooming couple of days ago to this place. There was no smile in the face of the guy who was behind the counter. They were yelling at dogs who were barking. After hours we went to pick up our dog, my dog looked like a rat. After arriving home, he was not acting normal. I don't know what had happened during those hours in this place?!! He was terrified when we wanted to touch him. We always read reviews on yelp, but this time we made a mistake and didn't do that. I'm surprised how many negative reviews are for this place. We won't take our dog to this place again because of negative energy they have, we can't see our dog during grooming, and the things happen to dogs. Great price but low quality work. Not sure who the actual groomer was because they don't come out.... only the clerk does. Picked up my dog that usually gets a simple cut.... had a very choppy cut. They said they don't use scissors so they can't do a precision cut.... lol. Also my dog had VISABLE ear wax after the groom. Apparently they are now under new management. But regardless both times I was extremely pleased. My dog looked great and the service was good and the proprietors were very friendly. I am very very picky about my dog and her grooming, from the way she looks and the way she acts when I pick her up. She looked beautiful and was happy when I returned. I have been bringing my dogs here for years by Arthur! He truly is amazing with all types of animals. I've tried different places and let me tell you Arthur is the best!!! My dog is a little crazy and Arthur is literally the only person that knows how to handle him and he truly loves him and cares for him and he always works around our schedule and fits him in. My dog (Max a puggle) is a very high energy dog that will cry non stop if left alone in a small place especially, but Arthur never leaves him alone and keeps him by his side and goes out of his way to make him feel extra comfortable and I love that also his prices for everything are amazing!! Took my doggies here last year.. and while the owners are nice they severely razor burned my dog in multiple areas. I had warned them that my dog gets matted pretty easily and I need a groomer who knows how to work with that. I even showed the groomers in advance how matted he was and if they couldn't do it without hurting him just let me know cos I didn't want him in pain. They assured me they could do it .. well.. I have a little chihuahua who's nails are always growing in circle that dig into his feet. I've been taking him to the vet for years to get the nails clipped until I decided to give Pets R Us a try (after seeing the signs for grand re-opening and new management). What an improvement they've made to the place. The staff is awesome and very friendly. The icing on the cake?? THEY CUT THE NAILS FOR $8!!! Every time I'd get him back from the vet, one of the nails would be bleeding a bit (which I thought was normal because that always happens, and my dog struggles a lot), but not with these guys. They cut the nails in front of me without the dog panicking or any of the nails bleeding. In and out in 2 minutes. They are convenient, better priced, and NO WAITING!! I also brought my dog for a wash another time and they knocked it out of the park. The dog was squeaky clean and smelled like apples. Great people, great service. Will probably be my go to spot now for grooming and supplies. read more

I went to get my kitten groomed. Prince came back cleaner than ever. They took care of everything I needed for a low cost. They were so genorous they didn't even hassle me about the pick up time although I was late due to me not receiving the call. I just got a poodle off Craigslist and this dog was absolutely amazing, but he was veerrrrryyyy dirty. He couldn't see after a week because the hair was so out of control. I saw all the good reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. I googled a fancy poodle cut picture and showed it to them. They said they can match it to the picture for sure. Once I got my dog back, I couldn't believe it. The poofy head, the shaved feet, the tail... Ollie looked absolutely adorable. The staff here are amazing. The grooming job they did was above and beyond what I expected. I bought some dog food and toys from them as well. Prices are great, for both grooming and supplies. So I've lived in this area for 20 years. When this place originally opened I was ecstatic because it was such a convenient place to take my dog.....unfortunately the first time I took my dog grooming there, they cut his toe nails too deep and gave him fleas. Needless to say I never went back. A few months ago, I noticed a grand reopening sign that caught my interest. I went inside, and I hardly recognized the place. I spoke with the new owner Arthur and let him know the history of the place and my previous experience. He apologized profusely for what I had gone through (which was really kind because he had nothing to do with the problems I had experienced) and repeatedly asked that I give him a chance to make amends. Last week I decided to take him up on that offer. I walked in and he rembered me, which for whatever reason made me feel better about being there, and dropped my dog off for grooming. I was incredibly pleased 1. The price was very affordable. 2. The haircut was absolutely amazing. 3. Winston was as happy as could be when I picked him up! I had such a great experience here. Needed a nail trim for my very old dog. He's a small dog with black nails and can be sensitive to trimmings. I explained my dogs disposition on the phone. Pets R Us understood and were able to accommodate him right away. No waiting, no stress and my dog was able to remain calm. The groomer was confident and gentle with the dog during the trimming. My family took my 1 year-old Shih Tzu puppy here for grooming and he left with deep cuts (bandaged with a band-aid) and uneven hair. Regardless, the shop felt sorry and did not charge us. However, I have recently visited the pet store for a few items and saw how filthy they keep its grounds. For one, kittens and bunnies were caged recklessly with poop and dirty floors. If you love your dog DO NOT even bring your dog to this place. I brought my dog here at 10 am for her groom she is a yorkshire terrier. She had a Long beautiful hair. There was a man infront of the store. I asked him for a trim cut, a flee bath, and cut her nails. She was brought to the back where you can see through the door if its open with the other dogs where they were kept in cages. I asked if I can come in or stay to see how they wash her. They told me no and that they were professionals and I don't need to worry about a thing. They told me to come back in 4 hrs to pick her up. I came back at 2 pm to pick her up and she wasn't ready. It took another hour for her to finish. They came out with my dog all SHAVED and BOLD. I told them only a trim. They did not listen to me at all.. they made my Yorkshire look like a bold rat! I took my dog here to get a monthly groom. I can not even explain how terrible the results were. They completely shaved him, made him look like a rat when I said little trim. That's not only it when I brought my dog home he was very upset and distant (my dog is a very cheerful dog). When I brought him home he would walk two steps then sit down that's when I noticed the several cuts along his lower regions. Let me not even mention the horrible hair cut, which took them five hours, they gave which was completely uneven. I will never even think of bringing my dog here again. read more

So after weeks (more like months) of my grandmother hinting how much she wants birds, I decided to stop by this little shop and check out what they had to offer. In the past I've usually gone to Pampered Pets for anything bird-related but decided to give this place a try since it was much closer. So I don't know much about birds but I do know that there are a few basics I expect in a pet store which are: cleanliness, knowledgeable staff, and decent prices. I was a little skeptical to even stop by here based on the older reviews but I must say that I did not leave disappointed. The staff here are super friendly and really know what they are talking about. For starters, I was ready to drop some $$$ on birds that I didn't really know much about, but after describing the type of interaction my grandmother wants with the birds I was recommended less expensive (equally adorable) birds that would not provide too much maintenance and socialization. I loved how I wasn't pushed or pressured to purchase more of the exotic type of birds but what BEST fit my needs. I LOVE THAT! The guy helping also gave me some great suggestions on food options, type of cage, and daily care to increase the longevity of the parakeets I ended up purchasing. There was no pressure to even buy the recommendations from the shop! All in all, I had a great experience and my grandmother ended up loving her new pets. Please do your dog and yourself a favor and DO NOT take your pet to get groomed by these ppl. They charge you for something, and don't actually do it. My dogs been there three times. The first time was fine, but the last two times they've been forgetting to give her a sanitary shave. I'm paying for this, going home, then noticing their error. I work, and I don't have time to take my dog back and forth. And when I spoke to a gentleman on the phone, he said so what do you want me to do, and I said at least deduct that amount out of the next treatment. He was completely confused and wasn't willing to help me. Hence, the reason why I'm writing this review. Go somewhere else. Trust me. I have a Doberman pincher that's about 80 pounds. He's very aggressive and always gets turned down at other groomers. After shopping around place after place, Pets R Us said yes. I was worried when I saw the reviews, but at this point I was desperate. I took Tyson in and they took him in without question. I warned them about the dog being a little crazy but they said it's ok. Shortly after new management took over, I walked in and immediately noticed drastic changes that reminded me of why I started coming here years ago. They brought back the animals which were gone for years and really did a great job with the inventory. The staff is very approachable and more than happy to help. And it's always a bonus when the bird and rabbit supplies were much better prices than at Petco and much closer. They regained a customer in me!
