I was required to pay the veterinary bill after being told the incident was my dog's fault, despite his having no prior history of aggression or issues. We've boarded my two dogs before in the PetsHotel with their own boarded up room with a tv for them to watch. We never had any problem with boarding or shopping until my dog had a bloody nose. Theirs an animal hospital in the same strip mall but they transported my senior dog to the Naperville animal hospital and then asked us to take the dogs back which we were 12 hours away. If they can't take care of a dog with a simple allergy nose bleed, then I wouldn't trust them. But they should've told us to transfer the dogs to another place before taking her to the vet then coming back from the vet. I highly doubt the guy who drove her to the hospital had any animal experience. read more

Just because I was being myself the store manager had the other managers treat me like garbage and they would write me up for mindless stuff. We dropped our pup off at the petsmart in Aurora for 2 short nights while we were on a weekend trip in town. We have stayed at multiple Petsmart PetsHotel locations including the Naperville location in the past and have had great experiences but chose the Aurora location this time around because it was closer to where we were staying. When we dropped her off, they refused to take her Kong, treats or harness/leash (all of which we have dropped off with her at other locations). They convinced us to spend extra money for extended individual play time which includes a photo (which we never received even after asking for the photo to be resent) and a treat. When we picked her up, we were told that she had gone to the bathroom in the morning, but her dog bed smelled like urine, and immediately after picking her up she peed and pooped a significant amount in the parking lot. She clearly had not been taken out for an extended period of time and was sitting in her urine for a while. Needless to say, next time we need to board our dog in this area we will be returning to the Naperville location, even if it's an extra 10 minute drive. read more

PetsHotel: My dog (Lacy) is an anxious wreck, so finding a place to board her during a week-long vacation was rough. I was nervous Lacy wouldn't like the people or be overstimulated during play-time. The staff at this PetsHotel location melted all of my worries away. It also helped knowing Lacy's regular vet is in the same building as the hotel! It was super easy and flexible when making Lacy appointments for 'trial days' at day care before the long boarding stay. Lacy was excited to see the staff after a few visits (she has a really tough time with strangers in her home). At drop off, the staff took my concerns into consideration, and had awesome solutions to offer personalized to Lacy's specific situation (it didnt feel scripted, rehearsed, or cookie-cutter). When I pick her up, I get an overview of her day both verbally and written on a 'paw'gress report. I'm so happy to know I have a safe, welcoming place I can trust with my precious pup. Salon: Lacy only gets her nails cut occasionally. I don't make an appointment, but usually don't have to wait for them to take her back for more than a few minutes. The staff are accommodating, honest, and do a good job with Lacy's grooming. I've had to take Lacy back a day later for them to finish all her nails due to her jumping off the table, and they're not bothered by the inconvenience. And they are not willing to compromise on safety to make a quick buck, which I really appreciate! Products: They're a bit pricy. I've found the same stake leash on Chewy for half the price I paid for it at PetsMart. Lacy's food (Hills Science Diet) is almost $10 cheaper when I pay to get it auto shipped from Chewy. Occasionally, I'll buy toys and treats from here not sold on Chewy. The store still gets 5 stars because I've been so pleased with the other services! read more

The people at the petshotel at this location are great!! My 50lb dog was scared to go in (even though she loves play time!) and they always handled her great. We took her all week over the course of a month or so when we got a new puppy and I can't say enough good things about here. Loved the daily progress reports to know how she was doing, we are sad the one by us now doesn't have an amazing petshotel! *update* I would avoid the banfield pet hospital inside here. I had a great first experience with a male vet here. I found a stray kitten and I'm a dog person so had zero kitten or bottle feeding experience. The kitten was sick (weighing under a pound) and would barely eat. He suggested a food that got him eating that day and probably saved his little life. But on my second return visit the female vet allowed the kitten to walk around on the table and was not actively watching him and he fell several feet on his head on the hard flooring. I was in shock, he weighed just over a pound and could have been seriously hurt. Won't ever go back for veterinary services and is a shame since the first vet was so great. read more

I was informed that I could not set-up an appointment during prime hours because my dog was nervous at an appointment when he was three months old so I would have to come in during the workday at a non peak time. This place allows teenagers to make notes in the system that permanently effects scheduling grooming appointments for the duration of your dogs life. I spoke with Cara who showed zero willingness to work with me on this. This dog is the most friendly, outgoing dog and shows zero signs of nerves. Here's a solution, only allow managers to make notes in your system and work with customers to find a solution. My fiancé went to return a dog door because it was the wrong size. The cashier was in the middle of processing the return when this older looking white gentleman, who I presume is the manager, stopped them and took the door to the back to check the cameras to make sure that he didn't steal it since he had lost the receipt. Terrible experience with the grooming salon. Avoid scheduling Keely D. at all costs. Booked an appointment for a bath and haircut. Not only did he come back to me wet and still the same tufts of hair we requested to have trimmed, she actually told us to not schedule him on weekends in future. When I asked her why, she said it'd be better to come at 9AM on weekdays when there are fewer pets and less stimuli. I told her I understood why it'd be better to schedule when there are fewer pets, but that my partner and I are working individuals and cannot skip work just to get our dog groomed. She continued to be condescending and act as if we were bad dog parents simply because we work 9-5 on weekdays. What a treat it is whenever I come to this location! : - ) Every time I am in here with my girlfriend, an associate (potentially the manager as well) in pet care, Colleen, is blatantly rude. I wish I was exaggerating when I state e v e r y time we come here while she is working she walks away when we need assistance. Yesterday she was finishing up with customer while two other associates helped others. Keeping up with her constant habit, when she finished with that customer she made sure to turn around and walk away knowing we were waiting to be assisted next. Once one of the other associates was finished, he apologized to me for her walking away since he thought she was going to assist us and stated he would lecture her about it later. I basically told him this was a consistent occurrence. While I respect hardworking and consistent associates, naturally I am not too fond of the fact the only consistent experience I have had with Colleen is making eye contact just for her to turn around and walk off. However, the other two associates that were working pet care were very helpful. Came here to the groomers for my samoyed. They claimed he had severe matting when we comb him for at least 30 minutes daily and take him to the groomers monthly. This review will be based off experience at the Pet Hotel only. Doggie Day Camp can't be beat at Petsmart! It's $20-$22 for the entire day, and is worth every penny. On top of that, my dog can stay from 7 AM to 9 PM. Now of course I hate keeping her there all day but it is a great option when I don't have a choice. I believe food is provided if needed, but I always pack our own. You can always "spoil" your pet with Kong or Ice Cream treats but our dog is happy just being around other dogs and people. The staff is always extremely friendly and you can tell they really love animals. Day Camp runs from 9-5 and it wears her out. When I pick her up at night, she is exhausted and will practically sleep the next 24 hours. You also get a report card with some details of the day but also COUPONS! You can usually find a $5 or $10 off coupon as well, so it makes the deal even sweeter! read more

We have had a terrible experience with the grooming service. Our dog is a puppy and we understand that she is scared, so we prepare her for these appointments however when we called to schedule her appointment, we were not informed that she would not be seen. It was not until we brought her in (after she had taken sedative meds) that she will no longer be groomed there. We just ask to be informed so that our dog is not given unnecessary medication. The worst Pet store ever. Even a 1 star is not worth it for what happened today at the Naperville IL store. Never take your pets there, it is unsafe. We went there today as there was a Sample Saturday and it was our first time going there. Our dog is 7 month old puppy Golden Retriever. He got bitten by an adoption group dog, who was an old dog that they left it to sleep on the floor in the middle of the store where they held some event. His noise was bleeding a lot and all they could do was get a napkin and clean his blood and said go home and it will be fine. The Naperville IL Manager is the worst manager as he said he can do nothing about it or even do a first aid on our puppy. That is not the way to treat a puppy that was bitten by their event dog. He was bleeding so such. The worst pet store we have ever been too. It is very risky to take your pups there. They do not help at all. read more

I went to petsmart for their beginner class. The class was very crowded and very silly. The techniques were not effective and the dogs were out of control. I would not take the classes again. I take my dog there to get his nails trimmed. My dog hates being there but they never cut him and I will continue to use their services. I tried to make an appointment to get my dog groomed and they told me they had openings and then when I told them I had a German Shepherd they said nevermind your dog will take to long so we can fit him in anymore. I got to experience the whole shabang here at this location: Daycamp, grooming, and the store in general when I needed to buy dog food. The customer service here has been excellent so far. The real test was when my mother law got real upset because they lost her phone # for the pets reward card. The cashier who was helping us was up in the clouds (but nice) and the supervisor on duty was able to calm her down and in the end my mom in law apologized! Daycamp: Paper work wasn't a headache and they answered a few questions I had. The only thing I'm not a fan of us all the add ons that can seem overwhelming and when you board them I have to pay extra for day camp? So if they could make their prices more understandable that would be great. Also you have to call them and sort of make an appointment for day camp when I'm used to just walking in and dropping off my pup whenever I needed. They just want to make sure they have enough staff on hand I was told. Other than that everyone at the PetsHotel has been very friendly and flexible with my schedule. Grooming: I love the online appointment option. I don't love how you can't a la carte what you need, instead the bath, grooming is required then add on other services. I really just wanted her nails trimmed but a bath was required. Our groomer was very nice and explained everything that went on with my dog's bath and nail trim. I got to watch them finish her up when I picked up my dog and they gave her plenty of hugs and treats since she behaved. Grooming runs about $35 comes with bath and nail trim and other things. My main concern was bath and nail trim. It took a good three hours total for her grooming to be done. Their grooming packages get a discount after 4p I beleive. All in all I like this location because of the friendly service and location. read more

Took my Shiba Inu for a nail trim and a file. They said they would call me when it was my turn but never did, so I went back. In the mean time, they took someone else in and had to wait another 5-10 minutes. Finally, our turn. She told me to go pay while she was taking care of my dog and I could hear my dog scream from the cash register. My heart broke. When I take him to the vet, he makes no sound but it wasn't the case this time. This is the only other grooming salon in the area that I take my dog to because they are just stellar. I have a smaller 3 year old male husky who fully blows his coat twice a year and sheds regularly throughout. Every month I normally take him to this salon and Kaitlyn is fantastic at getting the most hair out of him as possible (she usually has some fun color in her hair, the last time it was blue or purple). The other groomers are always nice and have been great at getting him all clean and handsome. Today I was originally going to take him to Petco however had a bad experience and walked out with him, while I have always heard great things when I pick him up from PetSmart and he always has good comments on his little report card it was the nicest thing ever to call them last minute and have a lady answer the phone assisting me with squeezing him in today and adding that she wishes she could be the one to groom him because of the nice comments they leave on his profile for each other. I like that I get my money's worth here and my pup is always happy to get groomed here, I like their consistency in pricing and their consistency in grooming technique. I highly recommend this place, although sometimes they can have a bit of 'tude on the phone - I would assume that it has to do with being super busy and stressed out - but they're definitely animal lovers and their sincerity in how they interact with the dogs is undeniable, they have always gotten the job done despite how busy they are. read more
