I left my cat with the PetSmart boarding service for about a week over the holidays when I couldn't find anyone to sit for her/any independent places with openings. When I dropped her off I gave super detailed information including mentioning that I left pajamas with my scent to put in the kennel, some of her favorite toys, and treats - the person working the desk asked for guidance on treats and I said anytime, usually one tube a day. However, when I picked her up, the pajamas, toys, and treats were all totally untouched. This was especially disappointing after the person I spoke to after dropping her off was kind of rude in telling me that everything was exactly what I had requested. The staff was consistently hard to get a hold of (calls not picked up) and nobody I talked to seem to know who my cat was or have any direct experience with her, instead they referenced a chart which repeatedly had essentially no notes. She didn't eat for two days and they said they would call me if she still hadn't eaten in 24 hours. When I called the next day (24 hours later) she still hadn't eaten but I didn't receive a call. I gave two different people on two separate days advice on getting her to eat, both said they would try it, neither did (I had suggested giving her a treat outside the kennel and the treats were unopened entirely, that's how I know). They have no toys in their kennel at all regardless of what you bring and my cat was put in basically the only window kennel but I was never asked if she was social or skittish or anything. Also, they ask for consent to email/call/text but you will get zero updates on your pet. Maybe this all seems high maintenance but it seems pretty standard based on the other boarding places I've used or visited. Basically, I regret putting my cat there and would rather skip a trip than put her there again. Also, while this review is about a cat, when I picked her up I saw the doggie daycamp. Literally just one person walking the perimeter with a squirt bottle. They have some plastic structure kind of things but no toys and no real interaction with the staff member. Sometimes a good spot to grab what you need if you know they have it. Parking is a nightmare sharing the lot with an H-Mart that's always busy. However I placed a pickup order. I get there, and they've elected to replace my items with similar because they were sold out of my stuff. Just refund it? What are you doing?? So my order is wrong. I go to exchange what I could and it takes her forever. She's inputting everything wrong, having to redo it. It got to the point where I just said you know what? Give me my order. I'll come back another time because this is clearly too much for you to handle. So now I have $40 worth of toys my dog can't use, love that! We do private training here with Linda and she's such a great teacher! Archie loves her and listens to her so much! I also like buying his toys here bec they have a great return policy too! I've bought his leashes here, some toys and meal toppers too, I tried to buy his food here but he's just not into anything I pick, good thing they have a great return policy too! I would recommend this place to a friend, they also have a doggie hotel and a hospital, I haven't tried the hotel yet but the dogs look so relaxed and happy! The trainers are all so good here! I've visited the grooming salon twice - both times my Pomeranian left the salon happy! During our first visit, Sumi helped get rid of a mat behind our pom's ear. Sumi handled my puppy well, my pup looked calm as she was being brushed. Sumi even gave us a few tips on daily brushing and maintenance at home. On our second visit, our pom got her butt hairs trimmed. This was categorized as the "Sanitary trim". Nicole did a fantastic job on both practical and aesthetic aspects. Because our pom had another mat behind her ear, Nicole suggested the Touch-up package. This included a thorough brush, nail trim, and mat removal. Store is friendly, clean and well-stocked but this review is specifically about the Puppy Training class my 7 month old pug just completed. We took the 6 week course with Jaylene and my girl loved it, the highlight of her week! Jaylene is wonderful with the pups and their people. She spent tons of time really teaching each of us how to train our dogs, and if you put in the time to work with your dog for 20 mins or so each day, by the end of the course you'll have a better behaved pup! It was also great that when we needed to miss a class, it was really easy to arrange a makeup session. Jaylene is available for help both inside and outside of the classroom (though we never needed to reach her outside) By the end of the course, my pup could sit, stay, come, wait, circle, lay down, get up, look at me, stop, drop it, leave it, touch, and walk on a leash. I was pretty impressed at the learning over such a short time. Course concluded with a cute graduation ceremony at the end, complete with grad cap! My pup just couldn't wait for each class. We will be signing up for the intermediate class next. In hindsight, there was a discount ($30-40) if you signed up for beginner and intermediate classes at the beginning and I wish I had done that. I would give 0 star for this Petsmart grooming salon location. We have been going to the Woodinville location for the past year and this is the first time we booked at this Bellevue location. My appointment was canceled at the last minute for weird reason. The manager who talked to me was not apologetic at all and borderline rude. I've had nothing but great experiences so far with Petsmart! As a store, they have everything you could possibly need for your pet...since getting my puppy there has been nothing I couldn't find here. Grooming services have been great. I brought my little one here for his first "puppy trim" and they spoiled him and were very patient with his puppy temperaments! I love how they also give a report card of how he did as well. Jaylene is a great trainer for puppy class, very patient with pups and my Uno enjoyed his training a lot! Finally, I have only great things to say about the Petshotel and Doggy Day Camp. My fur baby can't wait to go to both whenever I drop him off. The team there know him (and every other furry guest) by name and I can tell they treat him like their own! If my dog wasn't happy, he will let me know - But every time I drop him off there he is wagging his tail and when he sees his day care team, his gets very excited! I wish I could give zero stars. Please never take any pet here. We took our puppy here for a puppy play date and they kept the dogs in a room that had a window and we could see our puppy run around and play with friends. Part of the play date included a "keepsake paw print and photo" and I've honestly never seen anything so poor quality. I laughed when I received it. The play date was free though and my puppy had fun so I didn't really care. I should have taken this as a sign of the laziness and neglect from the workers. We took our puppy here a few weeks later for doggy day camp. She was fully vaccinated so we weren't worried about her catching anything serious. But looking back on it, they never asked for evidence of vaccinations so we have no idea if the other dogs were vaccinated. We picked up our dog and she threw up on the way out of the door. She is pretty picky so we thought they just gave her a treat she didn't like (even though her file says no treats due to allergies). The next day, our dog was totally lethargic and had no energy. She ate three meals, but didn't want her favorite treats. After dinner she started throwing up many times and we ended up taking her to the emergency vet. The next day she was still lethargic but no vomiting. We called PetSmart and spoke to someone who was working daycare the day we were in. We asked if they noticed our dog doing anything strange. They said they weren't sure. That's pretty big evidence that they weren't paying attention to the dogs. They also said they gave her a few different treats. Our file said no treats due to allergies!! We had to take her to the vet again because she started to have horrible diarrhea. A few hundred dollars later in vet bills, our dog is finally starting to feel better read more

Currently there is a free deal going on for Nutro and Wellness dog/cat food. I tried to redeem it today, but we couldn't get it through. The cashier called the store manager, and the manager kept saying "oh it's by email only!" or "Other people has used this coupon!" Also his attitude made me feel very uncomfortable. The thing is, tons of people on facebook used the coupon and had a success, but he was UNWILLING to listen to me and he was SO SURE that he knows EVERYTHING and kept assuming I'm wrong. And during the middle of our conversation, he just left to deal with something else. It was rude. It was VERY upsetting, but when we tried another account of mine it went through. Then he just said "ah there we go" and left. No apologies, nothing. Seriously, please DO NOT SPEAK if you know nothing about the deal at all! The corporate rep from PetSmart confirmed that these deals work with the coupon despite the fact that the coupons have the same bar code. I hope Petsmart does a good job letting all of their employees know what's going on with their deals because it was quite upsetting. I will probably not step into this store again. I think the manager needs to get training again as he seems to forget his basics. I have to say the customer service at Petco is so much better, maybe that's why they're having these awesome (but upsetting) deals. read more

This is a long overdue post. I boarded my dog here in 2016 (the weekend of July 29, 2016-July 31, 2016) and I will 100% NEVER come back. Petsmart is very inexpensive when it comes to doggy day care but you get what you pay for. My dog came home with severe kennel cough. I have pictures to show you what my dog looked like when I picked her up on that Sunday. At first, I thought she got some food or saliva on her nose but later realized it was green mucus from a very severe infection of kennel cough; it took her two to three weeks to recover. The response from the employees was that "it's fairly common in the summer". I'm so glad I had pet insurance to cover her medical expenses and get her antibiotics. My dog's usual groomer (not at PetSmart) caught COVID and wasn't able to groom my dog, so I got an appointment at PetSmart in Bellevue. My dog is used to getting groomed. He came back super naked (I told them to shave due to mats), and with obvious groomer-induced injuries including a knicked eyebrow, scratched ear and multiple exposed quicks. The groomer wasn't there when I picked him up and they only mentioned that "his paws are sensitive" ... but really, they made them sensitive by doing a janky job with his paws and nails. I wish I noticed sooner and I would've complained directly to the manager on duty, but I didn't noticed until today when my dog was unusually mopey and licking excessively. They have grooming and boarding service on top of it, I haven't had the chance to use it yet because I unfortunately don't get to go on vacations. Great selections on food, cleaning supplies, clothes, etc. It's like Safeway where you get the discount price for being a store member which is free and super easy to sign up, you just need an email address/phone number. I came in here looking for my dog's regular food, Natural Balance. I walked the pet food aisles where a lady employee asked if she could help me find anything. I said I was looking for Nature's Balance and then, seeing a sign for Nature's Recipe, I said oh, I found it! (Why do companies choose such similar names for their products? lol!). Anyhow, I soon realized that no, I hadn't found my dog's food and I proceeded to walk up and down each of the dog food aisles again, looking for Natural Balance. The lady saw me wandering again and I noted that I hadn't found my dog's food, I'm still looking. She didn't offer to help. Then a guy ran up to me and I told him what I was looking for. He said they didn't carry that brand, that they would get the contract in July to see it. I was amazed. I get this food for my pooch at PetCo, Mud Bay, and Pet Pro. Why doesn't Pet Smart carry this huge brand? I was impressed by all the "accident clean up" stations throughout the store, and the guy who I spoke to was nice. The doggie "camp" was full and I observed the many dogs there; they seemed happy. Many folks shopping here had brought their dogs in with them; they seemed happy. There was a vet in the rear of the store. I've read a lot of negative reviews of Banfield Vets, so I would never bring my dog there, but I cannot speak personally about this service here. I was not greeted when I came in the store by anyone, nor when I left the store. They had a lot of "store brands" of dog food, and I think it's good policy to have a wide range of products, and in a wide range of prices - not just "designer", higher end foods and brands. read more

I've been taking my dog here for washing and brushing and been happy until now. I even bought a 12 visit grooming package. He needed a cut so I brought him in. He's a Havanese so his hair is kept fairly long to show off his beautiful silky coat (standard for the breed). However, at about 4 inches it become too hard to keep untangled so I scheduled a cut here. Immediately before the appointment I meticulously went snout to tail clipping out any matts or tangles. When I took him in I specifically told the groomer to leave his hair two inches long. ! They told us they would have to shave out any matts they found (not willing to take the time to do it properly with scissors and a slicker brush). Three hours later he looked like a shaved pig! Basically, they completely disregarded my instructions and the standards for grooming this breed, and shaved him to the minimum length! They are like a barber they gives every customer a shaved head when all they asked for was a trim! If you care about maximizing your dogs appearance then don't come here. If you just want it shaved and don't care how it looks, then this might be the groomer for you. read more

*Note* This review is only for the pet grooming services at this store. We have taken our small dog to this PetSmart for grooming for several years now. Our groomer used to be Courtney, who did a great job, but since Courtney recently left, we now take our dog to see Ariana. We love the styling and cut, and our dog always comes out smelling nice, looking great, and with nicely trimmed nails and brushed teeth. The grooming appointments take quite awhile; you'll have to find something to do for about 3 hours (give or take 30 minutes), which is longer than some other groomers. They schedule appointments as tightly as possible, which means that if something takes longer than usual or there's a delay, it's not always reliable when your dog will be finished and ready. A full cut with nail trimming and teeth brushing for our 10 lb. dog costs $70 not including tip, which is on the high end of the average but in our opinion generally worthwhile. The long and somewhat unreliable appointment times are really the only area for improvement. Our dog and the other dogs in the grooming salon always seem calm and happy (well, after we drop her off... she doesn't like actually going there), and we love the way our dog looks and smells after her appointments. I would definitely recommend this PetSmart for dog grooming. read more

Store is great! So so on pet hotel experiences. Warning about groomer here: Kelly hurt my pup. Recently I moved to Bothell but I have always really liked this store, and it has been my go to for supplies, doggie camp and sitting, and grooming. The last visit to the groomers has changed that. Stay away from Kelly!! She is pushy, and is the first and only person to pressure me about upgrades on my pups service. Literally would not take no for an answer on conditioner. My pup has been going for three years and never HAD to have it before because of his breed and hair type. Her whole vibe was heavy with a bad feeling. Should have paid attention to my gut that something didn't feel good. When I picked my pup up he seemed okay but right away I noticed she cut his tail and ears which I explicitly said not to, numerous times and always say that. It's in the file! The rest of him was fluffy and no softer than normal thanks to this extra $10 conditioner he had to have. She was super annoying at pick up, kept talking my dog up about how she had no problems he was so wonderful and she can't wait to work with him again please ask for her blah blah. I left really uncomfortable and later as I looked closely she did a pretty poor job on him, uneven and not a lot of effort compared to past experiences and results. The next day I noticed my pup scooting about on his butt, and I thought it was weird. Second day saw him doing it again and licking his nether regions so I laid him on his back to see what was up and I was shocked! He had a cut on his belly and where he used to have testies the worst razor burn I ever seen. He was super sensitive about it and we had to keep him in a diaper for a week unless supervised. I have tried calling three times, each time Kelly answered and I asked to speak to a manager. Was put on endless hold. Because of this gal I will never return to the groomers there and if I find myself at the store again I will be speaking with a manager about her and this last experience. read more

THEY NEGLECTED MY DOGS BASIC NEEDS!! 1. Upon exiting the pet hotel area of the store my [potty trained] dog ran to the closest shelving structure inside the store and peed. This lets me know he hadn't been taken out to go potty in the morning!!!!!! 2. Upon entering our house, he ran directly to his water dish and drank all the water. He NEVER uses this specific water dish, nor does he ever bolt for water. Obviously he didn't have access to water while in his doggie room at the pet hotel. 3. We let him outside and he immediately pooped a lot. At this time of day (11am) he typically would never have pooped if he were taken out in the morning when we were told he would be let out. 4. He had 6 days of eye crusties dried to his face - matted in his short hair so much so that he yelped and struggled to get away as I picked at his face clean - pulling off hair with dried gunk. Obviously no one paid any attention to my dog. Additionally, during his stay he tore apart his doggie bed, which is super unusual and let me know he was experiencing a lot of anxiety. For two days after returning home from the pet hotel he was acting really off and I wonder if they gave him doggie-Downers. read more

He is up to date on all of his vaccinations including boardatella. Turns out he contracted kennel cough from the boarding conditions. I called petsmart and they just said 'thank you & I'll let my manager know.' After the cost of boarding ($175) and cost of the vet ($135) I could have had a personal dog sitter watch my dog and stay in my home. These 5 stars go straight to Rosina, she is so loving and nurturing... a true cat whisperer. I bring my Phoebe to Rosina once a month for spa time... for $25 she will do a mini spa treatment: nails cut, ears nose and eyes cleaned, and a thorough brush down. This is a great price, the vet charges $25-30 just to cut her nails! Grooming salons are also very expensive. For us, this is the happy medium and fur baby Phoebe loves her spa date. I like taking my dog here because she gets spoiled with treats at the counter and lots of attention! The sales staff is always so nice and friendly, and always gush over her, making my dog and me instant fans! I don't normally get her food here, as I prefer to go to a store that has raw food for her, but the food selection here is extensive. You can tell what aisle has the healthiest options for your furry baby, and sales staff is always willing to help. There is a small refrigerated area that has food, but it's not raw. There was an instance where I came in with my dog around Halloween, to get her a costume and one of the sales associates was trying to sell these certain treats that she claimed to be grain-free, and I had confirmed with her twice. But when I read the ingredients on the bag it wasn't grain-free, so I advise you to do your own studying if you're particular about your dog's diet. I really like to come here to get my dog a Halloween costume or in the winter for some sweaters, as the selection is a good amount, with a range of prices. They also have some higher end grooming products that I like to get for her. There's an area where you can look at cats to be adopted, a play area for the pet daycare where customers can watch through the glass viewing area, grooming/salon area and a vet area. The only solution was to find a place ($ 16 per day!) that can keep her there when needed from 9 am to 8 pm tue-fri, some Saturdays and Sundays. Friends recommended Pets hotel in Bellevue.After couple of visits Aphina was greeted by her first name(how many shoes did she devour there??lol)then gently escorted inside.When I came over to pick her up, Aphina,after greeting me was trying to get back to the dog hotel area. I'm really disappointed with this bath and the last couple. I thought it was a one off but this is the second or third time the service was below standards so I'm a bit frustrated. I brought my shihtzu in for a bath, no hair cut this time. We just got home and after having a good look at her, I can see she's still got cakey eye boogers, she has crusties above her eyes, crusties around her mouth, it's almost as if her face was not bathed at all. Her nails still click on the floor. The groomer told me that the nail grind was stressing her out so she stopped. So why did I still pay for a nail grind in addition to the bath? I keep her on a grooming schedule and we've had to go a little longer in between because of Covid but I expect these issues to be taken care of during her bath with the groomer. I'm not even sure what I paid for since all areas on her that needed attention obviously didn't get it. $54 is a lot to pay for a service that is incomplete or lazily done, but I know times are tough so I still tipped the groom on top of the price of the groom. I hate being the person to complain like this but I'm really frustrated with the results of this service. read more

I bought two baby guinea pigs hoping they would be great pets for our family. The person who helped me was extremely helpful as she let us observe and hold the guinea pigs as long as we wanted to get a good idea of which ones to choose. We choose a pair of very sweet girls which were very tame. Unfortunately we decided to return them since my son (who is a toddler) was not very gentle with them. I love the groomers here and have been very happy with the PetSmart hotel. The staff are friendly and do a wonderful job. I have been taking my dog to the groomers for years. The prices very reasonable and they give you a full report of how your pet does during both the grooming and the hotel (if they stay). My dog had a lump under one of his legs and they found it.
