It's flea season × 100 right now. I went across the block to golden State humane to buy the collar that worked wonders a year ago for my pets. Unfortunately they stopped selling it and I didn't want to purchase a medicine. Good thing this store waa near by but I worried about prices. They did have the collars and although they were at a discount already, online I found them cheaper and the cashier was able to match the price, saving over 20 dollars per collar. It was great. CHECK YOUR PETS FOR BRUISE!!!! I've been coming to this place for a while now. At first it was great, keep in mind that I've been taking my dog to the groomers for 16 years. After a while one of the main workers started complaining to me that my dog was now starting to get scared being there. When this has never been an issue for my little guy I've always gotten compliments for how easy he is to groom. Then to start hearing complaints is very shocking to me. So I took him to another groomer and same thing only got compliment. Well today I took my dog here and the same lady that always complain told me the same thing but this time I told her that I only hear this here and no where else. Well fast forward to me picking up my little guy and I find this bruise on him. This place isn't pet friendly no ones loving pets should be harmed customers leave there pets thinking there in safe hands. This is the second time they have changed the appointment times to ones that were not convenient. Earlier this week we used their online booking to book an appointment for 7:00 pm. This morning they called at 9 am to tell us "a groomer was sick, so they needed to reschedule or move the appointment earlier". After we told them this was the same excuse they used last Saturday, they told us that the website is incorrect and that the groomer was not even working today and that their last appointment is 4:30. So, we agreed to bring our dog in at 4:30. At 2:00 this afternoon, Lucida called and left a message asking if we could bring her in at 3:00 or 3:30, as they had just "been informed" their closer had called in sick. So bottom line, after the third time of being told someone had called in sick, we decided this place is either a breeding ground for disease, or it is staffed by people who don't take their job seriously. Either way, with such crappy service and disregard for the customer, we will not be taking our dog here. read more

This is my first tine adopt a puppy, so i drive to Pet Smart to grab some necessities and maybe some suggestion about food & milk for my dog. So i came here around 7:30, i saw a training session for dog. Then I go look for the milk but there are several brands, don't know which one is right for a 4 weeks puppy. The employee approaches me cause i seem confuse. She start guide me through the milk & food, how to feed and when is the appropriate time to feed. I don't know how much training their trainers actually get, but it's not enough. Please take note of that Petsmart. I've always had my reservations about Petsmart trainers--especially after I was told by a trainer that it would be easy to train my shiba inu/basenji mix. If you're telling me these breeds are a breeze, you don't know jack about training and need to stop. STRIKE ONE. The BF's parents took in their two and a half month old Shepard pup--who had the two sets of shots required, but was NOT yet through with all sets, and therefore, was NOT YET IMMUNE. We were absolutely flabbergasted when we later heard that the trainers let him walk around the store, where who-knows-how-many dogs have left their germs! Yes, dogs have to be vaccinated to go to doggie school and interact in the designated area, but any old dirty, germ infested dog can come into the store! This is Dogs 101! You don't let your puppy go anywhere another dog has been if they haven't had their full set of shots! Nope, the trainers insisted it was ok. Funny, since the Banfield doctors told us IT WAS NOT OK! STRIKE TWO. Just this past week, we found the puppy got diarrhea. Why? Because Petsmart employees told the parents it was totally fine to give puppies rawhide!!?!! WTF? YOU NEVER GIVE PUPPIES RAW HIDE! Not only is it a choking hazard (raw hide expands!), but yes, it causes diarrhea! STIKE THREE! Please educate your staff. If you don't know the right answer, then keep your mouth shut. read more

I was quite happy to see a Petsmart return back to the Garden Grove Promenade-- after it's original location was closed down over ten years ago where the 24 Hour Fitness now sits. In fact, in high school, I worked at the original location in the mid 1990s. This is a compact location, but it doesn't lack anything that a routine Petsmart store elsewhere would carry. It's just a smaller floor plan-- having gone in the place where the previous Fashion Bug store was for years. The staff here is friendly and ready to greet and service. The grooming area always seems to have a steady flow. The specialty area (what we used to call the fish section of the store) seems to be quite popular-- as it also houses birds, reptiles and small 'n furry (hamsters, gerbils, etc). All in all-- a very pleasing store and its quite nice to not have to make the mad dash out to the Buena Park location anymore as previous to the new Garden Grove location-- it was the next closest one. read more

This is a newer store, but the few times I have bought something here, the checker didn't want to give me the correct discount & also didn't want to give me my gift card back to me that I still had money on. They are nice here, but fair warning, make sure they charge you correctly & you get your change back or gift card back. read more

They didnt even try to look at their schedules to ensure no walk ins could be taken. She didn't offer to make an appointment for another time or day. Bad customer service. My Australian Shepherd, Ash, looks amazing and feels super silky! Thank you Jessica :) I dropped Ash off for a bath/brush. I received a call to update me that there was matting behind his ears and they would shave him a little. No problem! Great customer service- I appreciate being informed ahead of time instead of finding out they shaved him without my approval. She did a wonderful job fading his cut so it didn't look like he had any apparent bald spots. I'll definitely take him back here for all his grooming needs. Prices were reasonable. Iam very frustrated and dissatisfied and disapproved with this place.. And also want to include all the words in the book that include dis! First off I would like to include that I come here twice a month to get bedding snacks and hay for my guinea pig! So that roughly around 100$ I would spend literally for my guinea let! So yes I walk in and walk out with what I need.. Last time I came here with my dog ..I decided to stroll down the hamster and fish bird aisle... So I peeked in and lemy dog say hi to them... It's was a horrible scenery!! The guinea pigs had were breathing hard.. As if there was no ventilation.. And the water was too low to the point were I would see a pig trying to bend his head so low he gave up drinking... On top of that. There was pee and poop all over... I walked to the front and spoke to a sales associate about this in a very non condescending loving way .since I know how easily offended ppl get nowadays. The guy upfront just walked by as if he didn't here me... So I went to the girl.. She says it's not part of my job... And I'm off the clock... So I gonup to another girl and now I ask for the manager.... She shows me to the Mexican girl... Who then followed me to the back.... She opened the guinea pig enclosure and as it was laying on the table I stuck my head inside... And Wow! It was hot in there an smelled like shit and pee. . NOTe that at this point.. There was a top opening... Where air that I breathe was available and it was still hot!! She said they have AC on.. I doubt it! Because I felt it. And I couldn't even imagine how they felt when there was no opening.. I suggested to check for herself... At that point she gave off this Huff and puff vibe of feeling offended.. But I didn't care an kept pushing with facts .. Of what I saw felt and observed.. I offer Ed to to do everything scoopt ppop and pee free of charge since all that takes a min.. I also let her know I have pigs on my own. And I scoop pee and poo morning and night before bed... She gave me an attitude the whole time.. I said even sorry . if she feels I am mocking them... I simply wasn't ..she replied by saying NO YoUrE not! And I gently said. If I wasn't then I wouldn't say this.. but if u feel horrible by me just showing u all that pee and poop in there with hot air .. then PlEaSe feel for them.. And just take the min to. Do your job for once. Anyhow... That's just making everything short.. I left feeling good that the pigs were clean n feeling hopefully better.. But I couldn't help but be disappointed in staff.. For lack of compassion and emoathy for other living beings who are in their CAre!!.. The next couple of times..I came there to buy stuff it wa a drag.. I didn't want to walk by there again .. Long story short.. It was again a mess in there. .. I waved down a couple of sales ppl who also seemed to not appreciate and being thankful to have a job... I ask this time to speak to a higher manager... The girl then took me to her.. N said I was angry... Which was a lie... Again.. I'm not wasting energy on liars. So I focused my attention message a to the manager about these wonderful creatures .. She reinssured me she understand.. At least she was actin like it ...I thought.. I said listen. We are humans we all speak English iam communicating something to you here... That's regarding your job.. And the staff u train .. and the well-being of animals..u sell... They don't seem well... I offered to make a deal... That she will train these ppl to actually do what the most important part of their job.. Or I would need to go public.. I'm sure it's not hard to take min of your day to care for the animals. Whom are in your care to begin with... This is trauma. For the guinea pig.. It's sad I've had to come back to see nothing's changed.. I still believe that there should be a morning and NM ight procedure where they come and clean out the cage and make sure the waters at appropriate height. And air vent is in working condition. If not I will continue to drive 15 min further to a mom and pop... I don't mind going the extra miles. and paying a little extra as long as I'm supporting a business who gives a fuck.. Thank you. Second time we used the groomers at this location. We specified exactly what we wanted. We love our shaggy dog, and her shaggy look. Also she is an outside dog so that thick shaggy coat protects her from the chilly nights. We even went as far as showing the groomer a photo of the last horrible job they did, and what to stay away from. We were promised nothing more than a trim, when we retuned she all her hair was GONE! The only bright side in this disaster, the store manager handled the situation very well; however, I will never return to this location and warn others of the horrible experience we were put though. read more

I honestly LOVE this petsmart. They are so friendly and nice. Any time I come with my pet they always compliment them which for obvious reasons makes me feel good. I love this PetSmart! We have our cockapoo groomed here & Jessica does a great job! She's so patient with our puppy & if we don't like her cut, she fixes it. Also, our pup is extremely picky with her dog food. If she doesn't like a certain brand or flavor, all we have to do is bring our receipt back & they refund us! Took my dog to get groomed here for the first time. To start off i didn't get what i requested not even close to what i wanted.. my dog wasn't even matted just small knots here and there.. Javier the person grooming my dog calls saying they had to cut his hair short way shorter then what i had requested and that my dog was being mouthy and if continued To be like that he was going to have to send him home and come another day i usually go to petco and i have NEVER had Any problems. When i picked up my dog his hair was WAY shorter then requested his ears were not left how i had requested either. For the price i expect to get what i asked for. Waste of time and money. read more

The customer service has always been exemplary until now. The cashiers are polite and courteous, however when you need assistance at the managers level they choose to make excuses. "Managers" hide behind the walkie talkie instead of getting out of the chair and helping the customer. Granted local services are convienent but so is Amazon prime with free shipping. The 1 star would be a zero for the lazy, complacent managers if I had t he option available. Take note PetSmart, same center has recently lost Party City and additional retailers in the few months. My in-store experiences have been good when going to pick up dog food or a replacement collar. However, I did have some very big challenges when calling in. Most recently, I called in to make an appointment with the grooming salon. I was put on hold, and after five minutes the phone rang back and they picked up only to tell me they would page grooming and put me back on another 5 minute hold. After the second time they pulled that, the third person finally said, "Oh, the grooming department is closed". A ten minute phone hold from two different employees who both did not know that the groomers close at 7pm daily? At least the third girl who answered the phone offered to still help me make a grooming appointment... kind of. There were several phones ringing in the background so I could barely even hear her, and when the days I inquired about were all booked, she offered me no other solution but complete silence on the other end. Perhaps you might suggest a day or time when you do have something available? For a business that has to take care of living, breathing creatures I just would have liked some more customer service or attentiveness. I have unfortunately experienced this at the PetSmart in Tustin as well. read more

Customer service is great! Everyone is friendly and offer to help with any questions you have regarding your pets. My anger is more towards the grooming department... The girls were all friendly and they seem to really care about your pet.. But really 5 hours for a bath and cut.. I understand my dog is old and requires multible breaks and I appreciate that but come on.. 1 dog shouldnt take that long.. Was told my dog would be 3-4 hours and ends up being 5.... It wasnt even a busy day for them. I think ill just stick to my usual pet groomers on katella unfortunately they arent open sundays but they also dont taken 5 hours to groom and bath my dog. Ill definetly be back to pick up food and supply for my pets but never again to the grooming department. read more

I want to give a thankful shout out to Jessica, Ryan and Michelle. Less than 2 weeks after we bought our 2 new Guinea pig girls, one was showing signs of respiratory issues. They were very quick to take them back (both just in case) and Jessica took them to and from the vet multiple times. They took excellent care of the them and was glad to give updates when I would call to check on them. The staff really shows they care for the animals wellbeing. First time customers and we will be returning! The whole ambiance of the place started on the phone! I called grooming a week prior for my dogs grooming and the gentleman was vary informative and nice! We get to the store and we are greeted quickly! I filled out a form 2 initials since they had our information from the vet they called themselves during last week! I also got a reminder that they did so through and voicemail! My dog has been sad since her last groomer retired we have tried a few others but she always came back skittish! Today she was happy and I loved that her cut was perfect and her nails were smooth and she smelled amazing! Thanks Stacie and the other girls in grooming! When we went to pay the cashier offered me a promotion that not only saved me money but gave me free stuff for my fur baby! This is for the grooming salon - very disappointed. I have a Malti-poo and brought her in for a grooming. I specifically said not to go too short and when I picked her up she was shaved down to the skin. When I complained she said she had to cut her short because of some matting she found. I know that there was a little above her tail but nothing to justify being shaved to the skin. I think she took the lazy way out instead of working with it. What's worse is the characteristic fluffy face was cut off too. Whatever "fragrance" they sprayed on her was nauseating. Just an all around disappointment. I just adopted my dog and this is the first time I've had to look for a groomer. I guess I'll keep looking read more

Today I did photos with Santa and had an amazing time could've gave 5 stars but only one thing that ruined my experience Is after having a wonderful time here at petsmart I kindly asked a young woman with blonde hair who was calling names out to have thier photos taken questions about receiving my photos and she RUDELY responded with "they asked you for your email didn't they?" As if I was stupid and she rudely walked away right after she said that. Then some other girl with dark hair was super kind enough to answer my question. She had noticed the blonde lady was rude and she stepped in and made my experience a little better. I always loved coming here until the blonde girl was rude and kind of ruined my day. Every year we do photos with Santa and it's such an exciting time for us but she ruined our day. It Is her job to create a great experience for customers. That Is her job. Or else she should work elsewhere. Thank you to petsmart for doing photos with Santa. And thank you to the girl with the dark hair with glasses for making things better.
