This one is close to home so I'll come here sometimes. I personally am not a huge fan of PetSmart and prefer Petco because PetSmart doesn't carry Merrick which is what our Lab eats and Petco usually has better big event sales. While this PetSmart is a bit on the smaller side, I've always had really great experiences with the staff! We used to come all the time to get feeder fish for our red eared sliders and the girls would always strike up a conversation asking about our turtles and just to chat while they got the fish or rung us up. I prefer the PetSmart in Fountain Valley just because it's bigger and has a little more selection, but this store I've never ever had problems with customer service. It's a great place for quick pickups like when we would get feeder fish or when I would want to pick up a few treats for our pup. We're bringing home a leopard gecko home soon and I'll probably be stopping by here a lot to get some quick supplies too! read more

I came here today for Peanut & Hazelnut's bath at 1:00pm for their scheduled appt. Kati who helped me at the register was going to charge me $7 more than what was quoted when I originally made the appt. she said "it's by the type of breed". I had to tell her that whatever breed she put hazel as, is incorrect. Hazel is a jack Russell mix. She admitted to her fault and blamed it on "being a crazy day". I advised Kati to be careful with Peanuts nails when they trim because I don't want them to cut too deep or make him bleed as his nails are black. She said ok, "I'll make sure of that." I come back to pick them up at 3pm to find that peanuts back nails on both paws were bleeding and one one his front right paw was clipped a little to close, but close enough to where I can see that he bled. I was so damn furious. No apologies for their mistake. They just said that next time I come back that they'll just trim it. FUCK that. Why the hell would I go to a place where they apparently don't give a care about my dogs. And btw, it was Charlie who was in charge of my dogs. Keenan didn't get too involved.... And if I were in his shoes, I wouldn't have either. I will never go to this petsmart ever again, not even to purchase a single item. I'd advise anyone that's on my FB to not go there either. When I need to cater to my Westie's everyday needs, I usually head to this specific Petsmart. It's fairly clean, the employees are helpful, and they carry most of the products that my pup needs... at reasonable prices. The grooming department is fantastic. I always place a request for Vanessa due to the fact that she's an expert in Westie grooming, having had one herself. I'm kinda finicky about my dog's hair cuts and I can be specific about the length, shape, and other characteristics of the cut but Vanessa tends to my every request. I'm beginning to sound like a Nazi but as with every human, every dog has their own unique personality and style to match. My only gripe is that they don't have a Pet Hotel... so if I needed my rugrat to be babysat, I'd have to venture to the Brea location to house her. read more

Booked appointment for my pup and was told to bring the vaccination card upon arrival. However when we got there the check in employee told us they cannot services for my pup just because they cannot get a hold of our vet hospital to verify the card! What in the world would you guys think we should spend time faking those vaccine stickers just to get the dog washed???? And why didn't you inform us before we come, that the card is not enough because you need to call and check upon them? I brought my pup to several places before and none of them did the same thing? This review is for the Grooming salon. I took my dog in Saturday and dropped him off a little before his time. I was never asked questions such as "is your dog on flea meds, is there anything we should be careful of" NOTHING. All they had me do was sign my name. I didn't think too much of it and they said they will call me in about 3 hours. Two hours later, I received a call saying he was done. I thought "Whoa that's quick! They must not be busy." I came in and picked up my dog and they never asked "how does he look, etc" like other Petsmarts do. I was really happy with the cut, but I noticed very strange behavior from my dog once we arrived at home. I was not allowed to touch his butt anymore. He growls and tries to bite now when I touch it and he never ever did that before. I don't know what the hell happened, but I'm not coming back to this location. I have taken my dog to new locations before and never had a problem until today. I will be sticking to my original location located in Fullerton even if it's a drive. I would still come here for supplies and food, but for grooming the people in Fullerton are so much nicer and they are always smiling. My dog is treated very well there. read more

***WARNING**** Do not support this business at this location. I bought a few items from here for my dogs. Two days later I had to return 2 things, the cashier circle the item on my receipt, and a few days later I had to return something else. They told me I had already return the purchased. Which is not correct BC the cashier make the wrong returned and circle the wrong item on my receipt. I try to explain to the manager, but she didn't want to listen, and her assistance(NATO Castro) asked me to leave the store or he has to call the police. My advice to u all make sure u check the item u returned on ur receipt if they circled wrong item otherwise they will not take it return back. I will never shop at this place again. It's a Petsmart, what's there to complain about other than their service? Well, for this location, their service is up to par with other PetSmarts, but the thing that drives me bonkers is their layout. Instead of being met with aisles and aisles from left to right, the aisles go from front to back.. Which makes it kind of inconvenient if you're not a dog owner. Cats, Small Animals, Birds and Fish are all in the back.. Let's face it, dog food isn't the only heavy bag to carry... Litter can be heavy and big (10-15lb) bags of food weigh the same as dog food does. :P That being said, that's most likely faulted due to the fact that the store is longer than it is wide.. aka, narrow width store. bleh. read more

Came here looking for a syringe for my cat so I can force feed her water. She's sick and refuses to drink any water or eat any food... I came and asked the manager (I think her name was Michelle?) about how I should insert the water into her mouth for her. The manager was very helpful and nice. She even suggested getting some type of nutritional milk thing for my cat since she does not want to eat or drink anything. Although the manager was very helpful and suggested many things, she showed me the wrong way to insert water into my cat's mouth!! I researched it and inserting it straight into her throat will cause the water to go to her lungs and cause her to choke... luckily I looked it up and found out that you are supposed to put it sideways into their cheeks... read more

This is mainly for the Grooming Salon. They really do a great job! Better than the other PetSmarts I have taken my dog to. I have a 40 pound retriever/terrier mix who hates it when I try to shorten his nails at home - so I really appreciate the care that they take when they do his nails. I would like to say "THANK YOU JESSIE" (store manager) I was in there to take my dog Kobee to get his nails trimmed & I went to go pay with my debit that had $ but the card was expired & I was declined (so embarrassed) Anyway I explained to Jessie that I have $ on the card etc. & I didn't have any cash or any other $. He listened & did a few things on the register & handed me a receipt & said here you go, I looked at him & said okay "I'll just come back & pay for this when I get my new card or the $10" he said "no it's okay don't worry about it!" I visited the grooming salon last month and was turned away because "they had callouts and were "short handed" and didn't have time for a pawdicure plus.. I went back this past weekend and was told this is a walk in service and shouldn't have been turned away. My dog is almost 14 years old, has bad hips, bad arthritis, a bad liver and a heart murmur.. having to load him in the car and take him in this heat takes a toll on him... knowing I had to do it twice just to be turned away the first time upsets me. I have been taking him since he was 3 months old and every time I go lately I am disappointed with your service. To top it off the last time I took him in his nails were barely even trimmed and I was still charged. They are still long so now I need to load him up AGAIN in this heat to take him elsewhere for a real trim. Your store is slacking.. it's time to take my service somewhere else. I always come here because of the staff, I could get the products I buy for my dog at any pet store but I come here. Clean, quality for good prices. Amazing customer service. I love that the employees know my name and my dogs name and we are always greeted with a big hello by name. I love that they will return things without a hassle. My boyfriend buys stuff he already has at the house but forgets and they know him and his forgetfulness by now :p My pitbull is my baby and I love that they understand that and treat him as such. He's super shy and the employees know that and they say hi to him, which helps him socialize, but they don't intrude his space or make him uncomfortable. Very cool, that's hard to teach. Brought my puppy to take a picture with Santa and he wasn't there. And I called and they said he was going to be there. I get there and they took a picture and just photo shopped Santa. Wasn't the best picture cause you can tell its photo chopped. Wish he was there. I use to bring my other dog before can't believe they actually didn't have Santa this year. I hope next year they will. What a bummer. But what makes it up is the employees they were very nice and had lots of patiences with the dog and treated him really good. Once you come in, you're greeted by the cashier or any other employee around the entrance. The store is well-stocked and organized so you can go in and find what you need (I always seem to get more than what I originally came in to get) and get out in minutes. read more

DON'T BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!! I had the worst experience with this grooming salon. On Sunday, I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday afternoon through the website. On Tuesday, one hour before my appointment, they called to inform me that I could not bring in my dog for the appointment because they need 3-4 hours for the appointment. My appointment was for 4:00 and they close at 7. They said to come in on Friday at 5. The groomer we had was Lauren. She did the worst job! She refused to finish cutting his face because she said he was moving too much. And then she tried to charge us more money because he took too much time. She only had him for three hours. Therefore, if she is only willing to spend three hours working with him, there would have been enough time on Tuesday for my original appointment time. She is the only groomer to ever complain about his behavior!! Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

Zero stars once again Earlier this year before the covid out break I took my dog in for her bi-monthly grooming appointment and left a detailed review on how poorly my pooch was taken care of HERE AT THIS LOCATION. The wrap up was: My dog got a little sick and threw up They called me I said you know what she has a sensitive tummy as long as she's not in distress can you please just finish her (WHICH SHE WAS NOT) All in all she was given back to me allll chopped up and not bathed and with a patchy unfinished cut. It is also imperative for y'all to know that when I drop her off she was fine and when I picked her up she was fine It all just seemed as a sorry ass excuse to not service her because I wanted them to do their job and GROOM HER and not just shave her all off and maybe just maybe do what they get paid to do (how about a little elbow grease on he brushing - instead of laziness and just shave her out of sheer convenience). So we stopped getting her groomed there and decided to boycott alllllllll PETSMARTS. ***Also there was a particular groomer lady who was at fault for the whole situation with her nasty attitude ... although in my opinion they were all at fault! Store employees and managers and corporate included By the way .. this poor excuse of a human still works there! Needless to say I had to go back because they have the only food she will eat and believe me I did not want to spend my money on an establishment who cares so little for their guests both humans and pooches alike ... (oh but when it comes to tip time the fake ass smiles and thank YOU's definitely don't lack) I say this because I made an official complaint to their corporate office and I made this review for the botched grooming appointment earlier this year And nothing but a we are sorry was done and a pathetic 15% discount was offered Like that would make up for what they represent or did to my baby Furthermore I would never trust those groomers again with her (my dog as most doesn't speak ... obviously) so how would I know if they mistreated her because I made a justified complaint on them...I WOULDN'T .... so I will never take her there again Needless to say I called today after spending $150 on pee pads her food and this medicine for fleas that is NOT working I asked if I could somehow exchange it or something because it's absolutely it not working and my little pooch of four pounds of toy poodle lovin is miserable still and still itching through the night not even sleeping And whilst I understand that there is a pandemic as exchanges are not the best idea for the staffs' health ... their alternative shouldn't be the same 20% off a medication that is $50-$60 They said "you can hold on to it until the lift has been lifted and we can exchange it then Well it looks like your open sweetly -that's 1 2 you want me to wait two - three months while my dog is in agony until you decide you take back this medication and you most likely will or should throw out since it's compromised and OPEN... what were y'all planning otherwise to repackage it and resell it if it wasn't a pandemic I don't understand ... how about a better alternative For example hi you're not too afraid to have customer during the pandemic and take their money even "since the lift hasn't been lifted" But you are to afraid to take a sealed bag with the medication you that isn't working and all I'm asking is to exchange or pay the difference on one that DOES work ???? HOW EFFING CONVENIENT Let's see what corporate has to say about that this time ..... Tyson was pretty matted and Lauren took great care of him and we got two called well he was in their care with an update and how he was doing. PetSmart is the closest pet store near me so of course I go to it frequently. Sometimes, they are really nice and helpful but most of the times they aren't. They all tell me different things. The most disappointing part is the grooming salon. I took my dog this Sunday and he came out with a bunch of cuts and seemed pretty depressed afterwords. I felt terrible! The groomer then went on to tell me he did great, she gave me his report card and practically threw me out as fast as she could. I went on to read his report card and it had no details other than the fact that he got special shampoo which I requested. I think I am going to switch to Petco because they have way more variety and staff is super friendly, even if it's a bit out of my way.If you go to the grooming salon please check your dog right away for any cuts. read more

my rating is so high because of pet training. I have not went to the groomers at this location I go to the Fullerton location. Anyways! My puppy recently graduated from puppy training and I am very pleased. Given he knew a few of the instructions to begin with but he was a quick learner. The trainer, Jennifer, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and gave each owner time to ask questions that pertained to their dog. The only thing I wish would have been able to do after was have more training times because I attended the Sunday class and now for the intermediate it is only two days a week which are days I cannot attend. I will be keeping an eye out for new dates. Thank you again for the puppy training. Side note: the store is kept very clean, full of friendly people and usually has everything in stock. There is nothing particularly wrong with it but this is a smaller pet smart and doesn't have the vet service inside. I signed up for puppy training and so far it has been going pretty well. The trainer is nice and helpful but it isn't anything I haven't read on the internet yet. I went to the pet smart in Fullerton for grooming and the store just overall looked nicer.
