I have also made appoints for my dog's shots when they host certain weekend dates for vaccines as well. On Sunday, March 15, at approximately 9:55 a.m., I arrived at the PetSmart on Edinger to retrieve delivery pickups, only to discover that the store's hours had apparently changed and it now opens an hour later. That change, however, is not reflected in the driver pickup schedule, which still directs drivers to retrieve packages during that time. When I arrived around 9:50 a.m., one employee told me I could simply push the door open or follow her inside, and specifically indicated that it was fine for delivery drivers to retrieve their packages even while the store was still closed. She invited me in and told me to pull the door shut behind me after collecting the package. While I was in the process of retrieving and scanning the package, another employee, shown in the photo, approached me in an extremely aggressive manner and told me to "get the f-- out of the store." When I explained that another employee had just allowed me inside, she responded that she "didn't f--ing care" and ordered me to leave and come back in 10 minutes. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. I was not trespassing, causing a disturbance, or doing anything inappropriate. I was following the instructions given to me by another employee. There was absolutely no justification for profanity, hostility, or being spoken to in such a degrading and unprofessional manner. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location or dealing with this employee again. I previously had a subscription and also used to buy my dog food from this store. That will now be a thing of the past. I will be taking my business to Petco instead. This situation reflects poor communication, poor management, and shockingly unprofessional customer treatment. If store hours and pickup procedures have changed, that information needs to be updated properly and communicated internally before employees start verbally attacking people for following the instructions of their coworkers. read more

We stopped by for a bath-only appointment, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They gave my pup a complimentary teeth brushing since they mentioned he is so well behaved which is appreciated. However, when we arrived to pick up our pup, I noticed the groomer was giving him a complimentary eye trim with clippers without asking for our permission first. I appreciate that the gesture was well-intentioned, but I would have preferred to be consulted beforehand. I have a very fluffy pup, and our groomer always trim his face with scissors rather than shaved. My pup also received a sanitary trim, but it wasn't done as expected. His tummy and private area were left untrimmed, while his butt and the backs of his legs were shaved instead. The staff were kind, and most importantly, my pup came home safe. However, I think additional grooming training and better communication with clients before performing any irreversible clipper work would greatly improve the experience. read more

First off this is not a "PetSmart Banfield vet". This is a privately owned practice and I am so thankful to have found such a caring vet. Dr. Z and her team are absolutely amazing! I have never trusted a veterinarian more. Dr. Z truly cares for every patient as if they were her own family. She always wants what's best for them and works tirelessly to find solutions rather than pushing unnecessary tests or treatments. Unlike other vets I've experienced, Dr. Z focuses on compassionate, care instead of charging for things your pet doesn't need or creating added stress and anxiety for our babies. I wish I could give a zero star. I will never come to this location again. The grooming has been going down hill in the past 2-3 years. The cuts are VERY in consistent. My dogs tail was partially shaved (without a call or warning before hand) because of "matting" yet the other matts under his arms were left and I was told that they "were unable to reach them"???? Any attempt at critisism will result with just being talked over with excuses that don't make sense. My dog is now stuck with and crooked half shaved tail, different lengths shaved at the front arms, paws not thourghly cleaned/cut and areas the were just missed, All to paid an inflated "summer price". This is bullshit and I'm tired of it. I will not come back and don't want to speak to the grooming dept anymore as I'm juts talked over every time. Not sure if it's just hiring inexperience or lack of care, but I'm tired of Corporations and poeple not having to take any responsibilty and then we have to pay an inflated price for a shit job. I have given multiple chances of redemption, this is not some one time "Karen" post. Everytime in the last couiple years there happens to be some sort of issue and I'm done. It was a Deja Vu kind of experience as I haven't been to the store to buy any crickets; the tarantula went to big spiders in the sky resting place. But, my gold fish are thriving in a small pond. I got a bottle of Accu Clear water treatment to keep the water crystal clear and two types of pellets and flakes to keep the fish happy. The birdseed is to fill a hanging feeder and attract local sparrows to come and feed and drink from a small water fountain. I took my very anxious dog to Petsmarts Express grooming service. Scout is as sweet as they come with people, but is nervous when around other dogs. James took extra good care of her. Made her feel comfortable. And she came out looking gorgeous! It had been a while since she had a service. We used to have a groomer come to our home. We. Moved to HB and have not found a groomer we loved, so have been trying to do ourselves. I forgot how amazing talented groomers can be! I will definitely be taking her back for James to groom. Have brought both of our dogs here at the pet hotel many times with no issues but this last time has been an absolute nightmare.. I don't even know where to begin but please read this to hopefully save your dog from fleas, malnutrition and dehydration... we dropped them off with 2 1/2 bags of food and they called us THE DAY after we dropped them off and said they are out of food if want them to give them their food... we thought that was a little weird because we dropped them off literally the day before.. but we said sure and didn't think much of it til the next day after that, a different person calls us and says the same thing.. we were like yeah we know.. someone called us yesterday.. so I'm like did they even feed him and why/ how did they go through 2 1/2 bags of food in 1 day... and why is no one communicating or anything.. well, the nightmare doesn't start there... We pick them up 6 days later only to have them both infested with fleas and our 2 year old being so skinny all his bones were protruding... (photos attached) we of course too him immediately to the animal hospital where they gave him fluids and did blood testing on him (results I will post below) his levels were all out of wack from malnutrition and dehydration... we then 2 days later took him to a follow up from our primary vet who is familiar with him and saw him for a check up not even a month prior.. by his reaction and rage towards this pet hotel for not only having fleas, but having our dog look like this and not telling us and telling us everything was great and they ate great (CLEARLY NOT, look at him) we are devastated by even the thought of our babies being starved or mistreated. Please do not make the mistake we did and take your dogs here we are still trying to get the fleas under control and taking him back for another follow up about his weight in a week.. read more

Also, they have lots if different treats that have our pup's tail wagging and begging for treats; plus he pulls tricks of his hat to get his treats -like giving his paw think (high five), standing tall like a soldier and give his puppy eyes. They have fun and cute outfits as well as seasonal outfits. PetSmart has great customer service that actually like our puppy when we have taken him there. Our puppy loves the Blue Mountain food and puppy treats here and we love their prices. read more

Rating for GROOMING I love the staff at HB off Edinger. They are so sweet and always get excited to see my fur baby Ella Bella. The prices have gone way up since Covid, but I still won't take her anywhere else. I recently booked her for a grooming appointment with an Academy Trainee and got 35% off! (Haircut only, add-ons still full price) but saved me $20! The trainees already seemed so comfortable, checking-in was easy and I couldn't even tell who was the trainee or normal staff because they all seemed like they knew exactly what to do. Rest assured, there was a head groomer helping with any questions and overseeing to make sure everything ran smoothly. Heidi D was Ella's groomer and she did an amazing job! She looks like a whole new dog And Heidi even mentioned it was only her 2nd dog she groomed. I'm so happy with the service and excited for all the Academy Trainees to practice and become part of the staff! All the dogs I saw leaving the groomers after their bath/haircut looked great. Don't waste time trying to adopt a pet here because I am very confused about this whole application process. I filled out the application, there was a question asking me if I approved them for a home visit, I chose "No", simply because I am not comfortable with people inside my house. After I submitted the application, a lady called and interviewed me about my conditions, this is understandable. After the interview I came to greet the cats and chose one. I texted her asking what the next step would be. She said it would be home visit. I was like ???. I told her that I put "no" for home visit. She said well that is the next step. Then I told her that it is so confusing because you asked the adopter if we want a home visit, even though we said no, you still proceed to decide to come anyway. Then why did you ask that question in the first place and waste my time? I told her she could come to my home and be at the door, she just ignored me now. This is extremely unprofessional, inconvenient, and confusing. Even though I love these kitties so much, this experience is very discouraging. read more

I took my 6 month old doberman in for daycare. I could kinda see one associate looked at seeing him come in, but as someone that once worked there i understood puppies can be difficult. however one day he got super stressed out from a bath and hotel staff tried forcing him into the kennel. the associate called the girl that usually looked annoyed and my dobbie reacted by latching onto her arm with his mouth so they told me they essentially had to waterboard him to get him to unlatch. i personally apologized to the associate offering to pay for medical damages but upon looking at her arm there were no signs of bite marks or scratches. in her own words "she was fine". hotel manager later called me to essentially tell me his girls are petite and not equipped to handle bigger dogs.... during my time working there not only did i not have experience but i stood 5'8 135 lbs and was always exclusively working with the big dogs (almost became a mastiffs chew toy) all this to say.... pls just don't bring your dogs at all its been over a year and my baby just got over his fear of hoses and enjoys baths again read more

Okay PetSmart. We dropped by here over the summer since we were in the area. The plaza is a bit janky as there was an odd homeless guy who kept running into us making faces at our little dog. We ignored him and did our best to stroll through the store. They had an okay selection of items, we felt it was a bit smaller than the Tustin District location. I arrive to drop my dog off for a $24 half day for 6 hours. (Dogs are crated for lunch/nap between 12 and 1. I was informed half day campers are pulled at 2pm and crated for an additional hour. So-half day campers dogs are removed from being with other dogs and crated two out of six hours. Sure sounds like punishment to me and very dog unfriendly. My dog is not used to being crated except for pets Mart lunchtime. I asked to speak to the camp manager but she's off. I had no pre warning. I'm picking my pet up early so she's not punished. You do have the option of paying full day whether you need it or not. This policy is cruel to pets. read more

We have had problems with this pethotel before, but nothing like this. They called us last week to confirm my dog, Jude's stay with them for our vacation. We go to drop him off tonight, and somehow they changed the agreed upon date to yesterday, despite us having a copy of the paperwork. They marked us as a no-show. She refused to even try to reschedule us for a different day so we could try to move our vacation. So now we are stuck with a non-refundable trip to Hawaii that we must cancel, because we have nowhere to take our dog. That you for messing things up again Petsmart. I love this location! We started bringing our Golden Retriever puppy here about a year ago for the grooming salon. Every single time, they have done a great job on his bath and groom. Our dog is very squirmy and energetic, and they are so kind and patient with him. Em does an amazing job and is so wonderful to work with. I have received great service from day one. The Pet Hotel is just as wonderful. Our dog has stayed for both the Day Camp and for 10 days when we went on vacation. They always take such great care of him and he adjusts back home very easily. He is so happy to go each time, the level of service is wonderful. Highly recommend this location for all of the services! read more

GROOMING SERVICE REVIEW I had my maltipoo come in for Bath and Brush package (Bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, paw & pad trim, sanitary trim, anal gland cleaning) along with an Essential package (upgraded shampoo & conditioner, teeth cleaning & breath freshener, cologne sprits, bandana). Each package was $30, so I paid $60 for the service. When I picked up my dog was perfectly clean and they even gave him a little trim when they noticed a little bit of matting around the ears, I appreciated that. What was disappointing was the fact that some services that I paid for weren't done on my dog. I noticed the hairs on his paws and pad were still long and sanitary cut wasn't done either. I self-groomed by dog about two months ago and regularly cut his sanitary areas, so the hairs were all pretty short for the type of dog he is-- but the hair grows, and the hairs are still long enough to get services done. I especially wanted his paws and pads trimmed because he tends to kick me off and make it hard for me to get a close shave. His paws are slowly getting better from his excessive licking, but my dog tends to step in his pee sometimes and bacteria builds up-- and my dad walks him randomly and doesn't put shoes on him or clean off his paws after walking so sometimes, we don't realize that his paws are dirty. Because of this, I would much rather get the closest trim possible so he can stay clean for longer. After noticing, I did bring him back in to get my money's worth and the same girl who serviced him before was there to rectify the job. She didn't apologize, but rather, at the end of service, she said "we trimmed the little bit of the hair that was there since he just got groomed"-- as if I didn't pay for the service and there was no hair for them to cut at all. Again, the hair was long enough since they were curling over and there was literally shit stuck to his butt hairs. I wish I took before pictures. I chose this service and paid $60 for a reason. Also, if some services were not performed, they should have called me or told me when I was picking him up so I can make the call if I still wanted it done or not. Also, Essential package isn't worth it and if you want a bandana, you have to ask. I've brought him in two times and I never got it since my dad picked him up the first time and the second time, I was distracted about this whole thing. I don't care for it at this point. read more

This rating is for Bill. I've been here three times in the last couple weeks because I have a new puppy at home that has been having stomach issues. Every time I'm there he seems to save the day and go above and beyond to help me. One time an associate said there was only 3 cans of prescription food. Bill was close by and we started talking and I told him what I needed. He mentioned that shipments come in on Wednesday's and then he noticed that things were out of order and found more cans of dog food hiding behind other cans. Another time I was at the check out and could not find my prescription card for my special dog food and Bill overheard/saw this happening. He walked over to the girl at the checkout and told her that it was okay and told me I can ask Banfield for a new card if I can't find my old one. Today he went above and beyond AGAIN and helped me find puppy food without chicken in it.. which let me tell you is not an easy task! Mind you he had his lunch with him and was leaving for lunch. He spend so much time helping me! Petsmart is EXTREMELY lucky to have Bill on their team. His customer service is amazing and he gives this Petsmart location a great name. Just Ok. This review is for the Puppy Training class in Huntington Beach, Edinger. 6 weeks of training but they actually canceled at least twice. The class started with 4 dogs and ended with just one because the others dropped out. The training room was Extremely noisy because they have a Dog Hotel in the next room over. It was hard to even hear the trainer. Considering this is a Puppy training class this was very distracting for our pup. The room is also much too small when all four dogs were in the room. My pup did learn some tricks, so for that I'll give it 3 stars. But considering this is a store whose focus is on Pets and they are the experts, I think they should have done better. read more
